Where to Eat and Drink in Brightwood | Eater DC

"This local food truck dropped anchor in Brightwood, near the intersection of Missouri and Georgia Avenue NW, in 2017. The restaurant serves a wide selection of smoked meats, wings, and barbecue sandwiches. As of October, the Brightwood location is open for delivery and takeout on Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m." - Tim Ebner

The Hottest Barbecue Restaurants Around D.C. | Eater DC

"This popular food truck opened its first brick-and-mortar shop in Brightwood — a move that’s apparently testing weak-willed locals. “I was trying to lose weight and you all opened up over here,” a D.C. cop fake complained to the crew member hosting a half rack of spare ribs (the meat smacks of salt, smoke, and molasses) into a carryout container for him. The struggle is real." - Eater Staff

Great local spot for regional BBQ in upper northern DC. Friendly staff as others have mentioned. Good selection of smoked meats and associated sides. What I've tasted thus far is pretty good. They offer a mix of smoked meat sandwiches and platters sized for individuals or large party / family (latter called SUPER PACs). You'll occasional see entree or side specials at the front desk. Primarily a takeout shop but there's enough space for about 12 patrons to eat. 7 days a week but not super late hours. All fine. Short walking distance to the nearby Walmart on Georgia Ave, so a nice option before or after shopping. I'll be back.

Got the Angus brisket and it was perfect! Definitely the best bbq place I've been to inside DC. The sides we're okay, the fries could use some salt in that seasoning mix, but otherwise not a bad deal for $15.

Tried this for the first time from doordash during quarantine and it was delicious. The smoky pulled pork sandwich was huge and perfectly tender with great flavor combination. The Mac & cheese was good, and the greens were on the sweeter side. Will definitely eat here again.

BBQ Sauce #5 was so much love and the pull pork sandwich was outstanding. Can tell the baked beans was made from scratch which was refreshing. Mac and cheese was perfect

We ordered ahead when this famous food truck came to our neighborhood. It was not cheap, but we love BBQ. Feedback on BBQ Sampler: The Sampler photo shows "sliced" beef brisket. Our sampler had "chopped" brisket. The written description did not indicate "chopped." We prefer sliced. The pulled pork and chicken were good. Feedback on Half Rack of Ribs: They were big, but very fatty. The meat was NOT tender. There was something about the taste (a spice or wood type?) that we did not like. It was as if someone had poured an entire bottle of liquid smoke on them. BBQ sauces: Very good to excellent. Vinegar-based Slaw: Excellent. Garlic Mashed Potatoes: OK Pickles: Excellent Rolls: Excellent

After smelling bbq a block away we were on the hunt. Found the smokehouse on Georgia Ave and decided to stop. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. I got the sampler platter and my wife got the smoked turkey. All of the meat was perfectly smoked not over cooked or dry at all. There was just enough food on the plate to be satisfied. They had a great selection of sauces if you like a little spice make sure you try number 33 .

Ordered the chicken and pork BBQ sandwich catering for my office today, and it was a huge hit! The meat was great with all the sauces and the pickled veggies were delicious. People also loved the beans and mac and cheese. We will definitely order again!

Came in on a Sunday to check this spot out. Great hospitality! The young lady, Kadedra, that helped us was a sweetheart and gracious with a couple samples. I disagree with reviews of the baked beans, they were great. Sure they weren’t overly sweet, but they tasted homemade and not out of a can. I love variety so I tried all the BBQ sauces and got the BBQ sampler (pulled chicken, pulled pork, and brisket). The highlight was the Brisket. Wow! So delicious. The chicken and pork both were as good as you would expect. My fellow guest devoured his jalapeño chicken sandwich and swears he’s getting it again. All the BBQ sauces were good and it’s clear thought and effort went into them. We are immensely satisfied and will be ordering their Carryout again.
