San Diego’s Best Chicken Wings | Eater San Diego

"This Korean-based brand returned to San Diego and now boasts locations throughout the San Diego area, in addition to its Convoy Street restaurant. Its twice-fried chicken wings are available in a number of inventive flavors, including maple syrup with garlic and butter, Chinese mala seasoning, and gangjeong sauce, which incorporates soy sauce with cinnamon and chilies. A couple of televisions propped in the corners of the dining room make this a low-key spot for game days as well." - Eater Staff

Korean Fried Chicken Chain Returns to Convoy - Eater San Diego

"When it first opened in Kearny Mesa way back in 2008, BB.Q Chicken was one of the only local purveyors of Korean-style fried chicken, also known as the other KFC. An early offshoot of a Korean-based company that was first founded in 1995, the Convoy Street location would shutter in 2013, a year before the brand’s official launch in the U.S. in 2014. Now that BB.Q Chicken has outposts coast to coast, from New York to Seattle, and 13 branches in California alone, the chain is returning to San Diego to join our ever-growing contingent of KFC options. It’s landed once again on Convoy Street, moving into the Convoy Village Shopping Center where it replaces Ichiro, the Japanese restaurant that closed in January after a 36-year run. A rep for the company says the restaurant should be opening within two months. Purported to have the world’s first “chicken university” for research and development, BB.Q Chicken (BB.Q stands for “best of the best quality”) differentiates itself by frying its chicken in olive oil. It offers a wide array of flavors of bone-in and boneless fried chicken, from Golden Original to Honey-Garlic, Hot Spicy, and Cheeseling, a seasoning mix of powdered cheese. Other dishes include tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fried dumplings, and kimchi fried rice." - Candice Woo

Google
Great service and great food. Love the 36 oz. Sapporo beer. Watch out because the spiciest really really spicy. Also, the restrooms are very clean. My only complaint is they use plastic plates and bowls.

Visiting family from the East Coast and my daughter took me here today. I was stationed in Daegu South Korea for 2 years while in the Army. we used to get bb.q chicken almost every weekend. The kids loved it and so did I. This was my first time having it in 8 years and it immediately brought me back to being in Daegu. The food was amazing and brought us right back to being there. I highly recommend you check them out, you won't regret it!

Google
First time trying this spot,.think it's the fourth KFC (as in, Korean Fried Chicken) spot I've visited. The food is really great! The only thing I might complain about is the service time, they were not super busy but the wait staff took some time to seat us, a party of 3, while we awkwardly stood at the front next to an empty waitlist. I also might not have been specific enough, but they charged me for a sandwich and sweet potato fries outside the combo price (though also partially my fault for not noticing we were outside the time frame, I did mention combo and they did not correct me). Just something to be careful of next time! Pictured are the food options we grabbed, definitely solid food choices. The spot was very clean and had tons of space to sit, the parking was also lucky for a Sunday early evening compared to usually around Convoy. The family combo 2 is a bit restrictive in flavor choices (half has to be original, and the other half their secret sauce), but it's still plenty of food alone. We grabbed a ton more appetizers just to get a feel of the place. First time I've had kimchi rice and it didn't disappoint (I normally avoid kimchi, but I decided to give it a shot). Cheese balls are always good, the corn salad was certainly similar to esquites, and the corn cheese was an improvement over the kind you normally get at a kbbq. I'd definitely give this spot a try if you happen to be nearby, but maybe try the other chicken dishes since you can pick their variety of flavors.

Google
They have THE BEST wings in San Diego hands down in my opinion. The honey garlic and soy garlic are my two favorite flavors. They are perfectly crispy every single time and nice and saucy. The best part about their wings is they don’t get soggy. I would 100/10 recommend trying bb.q chicken.

Google
This place has been my go-to Korean fried chicken. However, our recent takeout experience wasn’t so good. Partially, I think I have too high of experience but just want to share my review. By all means, the gangnam chicken wings were still tasty but wings were smaller than before. The chicken sandwich was spicy but not crispy enough and lack of other flavors. I might start making trips to other joints.

Going to here is like a breath of fresh air! I love the music, the shows they played on the TV, and the posters they have on their walls. Their service is really nice and the food, especially the cheeseling fries is so good!🥰

Google
As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Service is quick, workers are friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and well-designed with entertaining K-pop performances playing on the TVs and fun music. Don't get me started on how good the food is. The cheeslings are to die for, whether you get chicken or fries, it's extremely flavorful. Rice and coleslaw are perfect with it too. Amazing place. 10/10.

Google
First time here and tried the honey garlic wings and soy garlic wings. The 8 pieces was good enough for me so it depends on your appetite. They honey garlic was sweet and tasteful so try it if that's what you're looking for.

Yelp
Love coming here, it's flavors are all really delicious especially the cheesling and the soy garlic. I highly recommend doing it family style, it can feel a little pricey for basically 8 chicken tenders. The service is always good. My biggest con is I feel the chicken has gotten a little smaller over time and I wish they had a 12 Pc option.

Yelp
I've passed by this spot numerous times and finally came to pick up to go on my way home. It was pretty empty the day that I came here and service was pretty quick. I got the soy garlic boneless wings, cheesling fries and the corn salad to bring back home. I thought the corn salad was alright. They went pretty heavy on the bell peppers so this may be your thing if you like bell peppers. The container I got was also pretty milky for my liking. The cheeseling fries were good and reminded me of the seasoning on the honey butter chips. They were also pretty fluffy. We also enjoyed the soy garlic boneless wings and they were huge as well as very flavorful. As other reviews have stated, you can't get half and half wing flavors, which I also normally do whenever I go out to get Korean fried chicken. You do have to pay for parking in this plaza now, but I believe if you are dining within the plaza, you get 2 free hours (I may need to fact check this).

Yelp
You don't know you have it good until they forget to pack your radish in your to go order. :( Bb.q has been my go to for fried chicken for the past few years. I recently moved to San Diego and was pleasantly surprised that they have one here! My go to is the mala wings but I have tried the other flavors and they do not disappoint. The texture and flavor have been consistent since day 1. You can expect your wings to be perfectly crispy. The mala is a little spicy. If you'd like to stay on the mild side the soy garlic does not disappoint either. My bf said his favorite is the honey garlic because it has a bit of sweetness to it. The radishes complement the wings perfectly (which is why I was disappointed that they forgot it in my take out order but I should have double checked) I've been to this specific location maybe 2 times. Service is always good and quick. They do a really good job at keeping the place clean too.

Yelp
Really enjoyed trying bb.q chicken! Our server was cordial and informative. The food was served hot and flavorful! We had the gang jeong style wings that were tasty and spicy. And i liked the portion and veggies in the japchae. I'm sure I'll be back!

Yelp
One of my go-tos for Korean chicken! So crispy and you HAVE to get the rose tteokbokki with it. Perfectly creamy and not too spicy with chewy rice cakes. My favorite chicken has to be the original (which is always yummy and crispy) or cheesling for a good crunchy and cheesy taste. If you like more saucy taste, the garlic soy is my go to! Comes with radish as a side to cut balance with the oiliness of the chicken. The only thing is that the parking isn't that great.

Yelp
Honey garlic chicken is always bomb! Although I would order online, Everytime I come to pick up I still have to wait.

Yelp
Good chicken. Theres a bbq chicken on El Cajon Blvd and they taste very salty/over marinated. This place is perfect.

Yelp
Overall, it's decent. Some of the wing flavors here aren't exactly my cup of tea, but the quality and service definitely makes up for that. Highlights: - Fries: sprinkled in cheese(?) powder, they're crispy, and flavorful - Ddeok-Bokki: standard, it won't let you down - Cheesling Wings: IMO a must have, one of my favorite flavors here. It's hard to describe, you just HAVE to try it

Yelp
Been awhile since I've tried this location. We decided to stop in and have dinner while traffic dies down. Service is ehh, I'll give it a 5 out of 10. We ordered a large original spicy and a small wings of fire. Very disappointed in the original spicy. Some of the wings were lighter than others, majority of the wings on that plate had no flavor whatsoever, extremely bland. Wings of fire is good but not great, I was hoping to sweat as I did at the College location. Service was fairly slow, there wasn't much tables taken at the location but server didn't check in on us while we waited for our food. But that's okay I suppose. I probably would not be coming back to this location for awhile. The atmosphere is nice, I'll admit that. Just the flavor wasn't there. The college location has more flavor in their original spicy than this location, maybe we came in on a bad day.

Yelp
I love coming to convoy area and trying new places to eat. My cousin was visiting and we both have been wanting to try this place out. It was absolutely amazing, delicious and tasty!! When you walk into the restaurant there is plenty of seating. You can order at the register and take the food to go or you can dine in and they take your order. They have really good family combo deals and it's plenty of food to share. I have never tried and have been really wanting to try the rice cake dish and I added cheese on top and they were so good! So very pleased and happy that I got that dish. The chicken wings were tasty, fresh and crunchy. I couldn't stop eating them. They just had so much flavor! I definitely recommend this place and I can't wait to go back and try more items on their menu!

Yelp
bb.q Chicken is my go-to spot for Korean fried chicken. We were seated right away, and the food came out surprisingly fast. The servers were super accommodating and checked in on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. I usually go for their secret sauce, but this time I tried the honey garlic which was just as flavorful and definitely worth the hype. Their chicken is always perfectly crispy, juicy, and well-coated in sauce. I also ordered the rose ddeok-bokki, which was super creamy with that perfect chewy texture, and the kimchi fried rice, which added a nice kick to round out the meal. Consistently delicious and reliable, this place never disappoints.

Yelp
I love getting their rose tteokbokki! All their portions are big and perfect for sharing. Their original fried chicken is my favorite chicken and it's so crunchy. I love dipping it in my rose tteokbokki.

Yelp
Korean fried chicken has my heart. I remember when it was fairly rare to find it in San Diego, and now there are so many options! I will say that BB.Q Chicken (Convoy) is one of the better locations for this craving. I love that there are several flavors to choose from! Their golden original flavor is a classic. My boyfriend described it as a "more flavorful Jollibee, and Jollibee is fire." I was a tad offended considering I am Filipino, but I completely understand the sentiment. I wish the original flavor came with bone-in, but you can only order it as a whole chicken or boneless. I've also had their soy garlic, which is my favorite, and their gangnam, which was also flavorful! Their menu also has ddeok-bokki, which I want to try next time! And finally, I loved the cheese fries. If you're not a fan of a sweet artificial cheese flavor, then they are not for you. My boyfriend disliked them, but I loved them. A major downside is the fact that you have to pay for your sauces. I would rather not pay like $2 for ranch, but I guess. Our waitress who took our order stopped helping us after she took our order and never checked in on us. It was a bit frustrating because I wanted to order additional items, but ended up not doing so. The other workers (two guys) actually checked in on us quite a few times, so I'm grateful for them.

Yelp
Came here for late lunch , lots of seating inside. They have 4 tvs so you can see from every angle . I ordered the soy ginger wings. They were very crispy, the flavor was good , i just wish they added a little bit more sauce so its nicely coated. The staff was nice enough to give me a small sample of there coleslaw which was also good . Service was very good.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
I got the small which was 8 pieces, but each wing was rather small. At different BB.Qs I've been to I remember the sizes of the wings being a lot bigger. The seasoning was great, not too spicy but a little kick and also really thickly coated, fried, and fresh. Kept well in the to go box!

Yelp
Food: Honey Garlic chicken- absolutely amazing! Very crisp and juicy. Rose Ddeok- bokki: very cheesy, chewy, savory flavor. I think the little heat of this pairs well with the honey garlic chicken Spicy Chicken Sandwich- pretty spicy, I liked how crisp the crispy chicken is There is plentiful of seating with TVs playing music. Only reason I gave a 4 star was because it took a while for the server to come to us and get our orders, but I completely understand because there were a ton of orders.

Yelp
*This is my experience ordering delivery through Door Dash* I haven't had bbq chicken in AGES and I finally got to try this one in SD! Delivered food all arrived nicely packaged and still hot. I love how the chicken was packed in a box to allow airflow so that the wings don't get soggy and the bag was secure around the food. I got the galbi wings and soy garlic wings along with radish and kimchi fried rice. The galbi wings didn't necessarily taste like galbi marinade to me (it was more savory and slightly peppery rather than sweet) but still had deliciously balanced flavor. The soy garlic was lacking in the garlic flavor but had the best crunchy coating! Their kimchi fried rice was savory and less sweet/spicy than others. It was a good carb to have with the chicken and it had so many veggie pieces of + chicken inside! The radish is more sweet than vinegary but still crunchy and decent. Overall, delicious food even through delivery! The price was a bit steep for the size of the wings but also note that prices are a bit higher in the Door Dash menu.

Yelp
Was debating on whether to try this place for the first time, or go to Pelicana Chicken, which I really like. We decided to try some place new and came here. Ordered the Family Combo 1: with 16 pcs of wings, honey garlic flavor and spicy original flavor (per our server's recommendation). The combo also came with the 2 bowls of rice, 2 pickled radish, and 1 coleslaw. It was a pretty good option costing $31.99, since the 16 pcs alone would've already costed $29.99. We enjoyed the honey garlic flavor. The spicy original flavor was so bland and plain, would not recommend! We asked for some kind of dipping sauce to eat with the spicy original due to its lack of flavor. We got their "secret sauce" and was charged $2.25. The secret sauce was whatever, it was cold and sorta like a crossover between sweet & sour sauce and light bbq sauce, with thick consistency. Their wings are smaller than Pelicana's. The bathroom was clean. Overall decent but I probably won't be returning.

Yelp
Location is easy to find. However, the shared parking lot has compact spaces & can be drag to get a spot, especially during peak times. Restaurant is clean & spacious. The restroom was also clean too. Friendly staff, great service & chill vibes. When dining in, they will seat you. Just scan the QR code found on the table to view the Menu. Server will come to you for your orders & bring out your food & drinks. You can also Order at the counter for take out. I've dined in & did a pick up order without any issues. Dine-In During the week & get their Lunch Combos. You get 6 Pieces of Boneless Chicken, choice of French Fries or Steamed Rice & a Soda. Great portion for lunch! I've tried the Caribbean Spice flavor w/ Boneless wings. It was tasty for the first few pieces, then the flavor got a tad tired... I enjoyed the Spicy Galbi Flavor Better... Can't go wrong with the other Flavors such as Spicy Original & Soy Garlic, which are a few of my faves. Annika was pleasant during our visit. Thank you for being attentive & on top of things. Will gladly visit again, whenever I'm in SD & when having a Korean Fried Chicken craving.

Yelp
My favorite Korean fried chicken place in SD! They have the best soy garlic boneless wings and their honey garlic is tasty too. I love getting their lunch combo when I can on weekdays which comes with 6 boneless pieces, fries, and a drink. You can't get better than that! My most recent visit with my family, we ordered combo #1 which is enough food for 4 people: 16 boneless pieces, 2 rice, and 1 coleslaw! Food is always delicious, flavorful and crispy. Service is friendly and they sometimes play kpop inside which is another plus!
google avatar

Anna E.

Yelp
I love how many Korean Fried chicken places are coming to San Diego! This one is definitely high up there on the list! I believe we tried the hot spicy (or maybe it was wings of fire) and the Caribbean spice boneless. They were both super flavorful, juicy, crunchy and saucy! We also had the ddeok-bokki with cheese and it was good, but just a tad on the fishy side for my taste. Service was fast and there is a decent amount of seating. A friend of mine had tried another place, but didn't think it was that good, so I told her to come here and she loved it! Can't wait to go back!

Lisa L.

Yelp
Went there multiple times and all times services was different. Probably it's because the time that i went during the daytime. It's very slow but during the nighttime it's very busy as which services gets a little behind which is understandable. Please place a lot of K-pop music, but from time to time there is also pop and R&B songs I would occur. Definitely would recommend these soy garlic is very flavorful and totally worth trying. I usually go for the rosé, rice cake. The sauce is very thick and not liquidy at all.

Yelp
I was introduced to this place 2 weeks ago and have eaten here 4 times now. 5 stars for a quick lunch bit or dinner take out. Check it out!

Yelp
Satisfied my Korean Fried Chicken cravings 100%. Friendly staff. Our order was served temperature hot. Mala Ddeok-Bokki was saucy, spicy, and irresistible. The golden fried chicken was crispy, crunchy, and delicious.

Yelp
This is some of my favorite korean fried chicken!! My favorite flavors are the soy garlic, spicy galbi, and golden original. I also really like their pickled radish they give on the side. The chicken is incredibly flavorful, juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. Their cheesling fries were also delicious - crispy and slightly sweet and cheesy. Would recommend this place!! Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Lizbeth S.

Yelp
Can confirm this is the closest to the Korean chicken I've had in Seoul South Korea , the best! Do you know the authentic Korean flavor is the one called "secret sauce"

Yelp
Walked in with a friend and was seated quickly. Menu is located in QR code and we looked through with ease. I ordered the small classic in two flavors along with tteokbokki. Wait time wasn't too bad, maybe 10-15 mins. But once the food came out, you can tell it was freshly fried to perfection. Wing sizes are similar to wingstop, Bdubbs, etc but the crispiness and juicy is what stands them out. I really enjoyed my wings and the tteokbokki as well. Would definitely come back! Forgot to mention, service was quick and the young lady was very sweet. Thanks for a wonderful first time!
google avatar

Han L.

Yelp
It was 80 degrees outside and it was way hotter inside... asked the first server about it and he said, "idk its my first day." and he walked away. Asked someone else and they said theyre hot too. I also wish they would give me any hot sauce for free. We just tried to finish out food as fast as possible so we could leave this sauna.

Yelp
Great lunch special. I always come for lunch, you can't beat the lunch deal. for $14 you receive about 6 boneless pieces of chicken and fries, with a drink. You can upgrade to sweet potato fries for $1 more. I always upgrade my fries, I really like their sweet potato fries. I've tried a few seasonings/sauces, my favorite is the cheeseling, there is just something about it that leaves me craving it. I've tried a few other sauces, but I like the powder as I still get some of the crispness of the chicken. Service whether dining in or taking it to go is always great. The staff are always friendly and happy to make recommendations. bb.q Chicken is a solid lunch spot.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Because it's mine oh mine! I don't even know where to start... ever since I found this place I went 4 times already and I've told everyone I know! Look I don't want to say to much because this chicken speaks for its self!! This is the best friend chicken wing spot in San Diego!! If you don't think so fight me! All I have to say is they have a CHICKEN UNIVERSITY FAM!!! What place you know sends the workers to school to learn how to make the stuff!! Any way you wanna know what to eat! Try everything like I am... so far the best is the Honey Garlic wings and the powder spicey ones I forget the name!! But it's soooooooo fire!!! Also you gotta get the secret sauce on the side!!! I had a bunch of videos of the wings and my wife's first reaction which are all priceless but won't load! We Love BBQ chicken!
google avatar

Yelp
As someone who appreciates variety and spicy food, I really enjoyed spending my Thursday night at bb.q for some wings! Our group of 9 were comfortably seated inside and shared a family combo, as well as some extra wings on the side. It was perfect for us to try four different wing flavors and their Ddeok-Bokki. Their rosé flavor would be something I'd even order by itself (with cheese of course) as a full meal. It was so creamy and flavorful. All the wings were crispy and well-seasoned as well. I would say my favorite was the Red Chak Chak since it was this amazing savory dry blend that made your lips burn just the right amount. Our server was so kind and kept checking up on us at the beginning when we were waiting for all our people and our food came out after only 10-15 minutes. I appreciated the whole experience and will be back for that Rosé Ddeok-Bokki!!
google avatar

Veronica S.

Yelp
Love this place, we get the half and half chicken and cheesling fries every time. I dream about the fries. Place is clean and food-court-esque. Only thing I don't like is that they limit your sauce selection a lot, and don't let you get sides of certain sauces. Service is friendly.
google avatar

Brandon D.

Yelp
This is my favorite Korean fried chicken in San Diego. Parking is in the same lot as Tasty Bakery and a KBBQ place so it can be hard to find parking during peak times. However, there is usually not a lot of people in the restaurant when I eat in so there is usually never any wait for a table which is really nice. The staff is also friendly. I always order the boneless honey garlic which is my favorite flavor and we always try another second flavor. I really enjoyed their kimchi fried rice as well. I wish they didn't start charging for sauces. The chicken is crispy but also very juicy and delicious.
google avatar

Michelle J.

Yelp
The flavors on these wings are Rose tteokbokki is on point. The boneless chicken offers more meat but less flavor choices. Wish there were better specials. Definitely come try the different flavors. Take out packaging is also great fyi. Take out a great option instead of hunting for parking in that busy shopping center.

Yelp
Big and clean Korean chicken place. I liked it. My friend had never been to a Korean chicken place and she enjoyed it. Nothing in particular stood out to me, just that it's a decent and solid place to get k chicken if you have a hankering.

Yelp
The Kimchi Fried Rice from BBQ Chicken is an exquisite blend of flavors that takes your taste buds on a journey through Korea's culinary delights. With every bite, you are transported to the vibrant streets of Seoul, where the aroma of sizzling spicy rice fills the air. As you take your first scoop of this delectable dish, you are hit with a burst of umami that immediately captures your attention. The rice is perfectly cooked, with each grain coated in a savory sauce that carries the bold flavors of kimchi. The distinct tangy and sour notes from the fermented cabbage dance across your palate, leaving a delightful sensation of heat that lingers on your tongue. But this dish is not just about the kimchi - it is a symphony of tastes and textures. As you delve deeper, you encounter small morsels of succulent chicken, adding a hint of sweetness and richness to the earthy mix of vegetables and rice. The chicken is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, providing a delightful contrast to the crunch of the fresh scallions and the crispness of the bok choy. Amazing customer service, as soon as you walk to the counter you are greeted. They have two types of service , take out or dine in. The vibe of dining in will make you feel at home. The staff come check up on you every 10 minutes and always walking around for quicker service if needed for any extra accommodation or service. Parking here will be a challenge but it's worth dining inside this welcoming restaurant.

Yelp
This place had so much potential to be great! My partner and I got 3 orders of chicken to go --spicy, OG, and honey garlic. I was blown away by the honey garlic!!!! Perfect combo of sweet and salty. The spicy definitely had a kick to it an OG was good but it did get a little soggy from sitting. We also ordered sweet potato fries and they were kinda mushy too. Super sad we didn't get any radish in our takeout. Probably better potential and rating if we ate at restaurant instead of take out.

Yelp
My friends and I were trying to find a place to eat in Convoy and after going back and forth between multiple options, we decided on bb.q Chicken since we all had never been here before. We were quickly seated and started looking through their menu. After asking some questions about their menu, we learned that you cannot split sauces on wing orders, whatever size wing order you get has to be all one sauce flavor. The only way to get multiple is to order multiple orders. That was slightly a bummer since we had 3 sauces we wanted to try but would not have been able to eat that many wings. We decided on getting two orders, one medium soy garlic and the small spicy original. We also added an order of fries to go along with our chicken. The food came out relatively quickly and it was piping hot. Overall, the wings were pretty good, the soy garlic was well balanced, the spicy original was nice and crispy and actually not really that spicy (even I could handle it). The fries were crispy on the outside while still fluffy on the inside which was perfect. Overall, I'd consider coming back here if I was in the area and craving KFC.

Yelp
3.12.25 - Just wrapped up our dinner at bb.q and it was great! The 5 stars are truly for EJ, our server tonight.. the only server tonight. He did absolutely amazing. We watched him tackle about 15+ tables including a big party all on his own and not lose a single beat. Despite probably being overwhelmed, he kept a smile on his face and our cups filled. I was so impressed with his service and definitely believe he deserves some recognition. The food is always great here, despite it taking a while to come out, it arrived hot and fresh. My favorites are the boneless wings with the special sauce and the so deok so deok! So yummy and the portions are generous. Again shout out to EJ. You killed it!!

Yelp
Very similar to Vons: tasty, crispy, savory. Even the pickled radish tastes the same but is included not an add on. Delicious! I had one flat of each of the four flavors and each one was very good. Three looked very similar but one was sprinkled with sesame seeds. They were not labeled so we didn't know which was which. We'll just need to reorder all 4 flavors again. We had the food delivered and it arrived perfectly. Excellent choice for dinner while we watch Dance Moms which we started viewing n Disney Plus last night.

Yelp
We just left this place and If I can give a negative star I would!!! 5:10pm. we left very upset. our family ordered wings and fries, cheese fries. 1 there's not enough staff to help out and only 1 person to attend (Keep in mind it was slow and there were not even 5 tables full! The waiter forgot the beer, forgot the ranch. My husband asked the cashier/waiter that she forgot about the beer, and she said OKAY. She brought out first the cheese sticks and the Wings of Fire. Then she took another 10 mins. and brought out the Soy Garlic Fries, Popcorn chicken with fries, and the " Spicy Galbi". another 5-10 min. pass and then she brings the cheesling fries, but we had seen them just sitting waiting. My husband gets 1 fry, and they are not even hot in temp. They are room temp border line cold. So, we get the waitiers attention and mentioned this to her and she mentions she needs the manager. We say okay call the manager... Then my father in law tries the Spicy Galbi (THIS WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ANY SPICY, tasted like the regular Galbi). We see a lady come out from behind the kitchen they exchange words in a different language and then laugh. that lady goes to a room which is the manager's office. The waiter takes another 10 min. Waiter approaches us and mentions they cannot refund back for the fries and can exchange it, We didn't want the fries at this point specially since we were already almost done. then I bring up the Galbi wings that are not spicy, at this point she says she's not in charge and we mentioned to her to call the Manager. By now these fries are extra cold. To summarize the manager afte requesting her didn't want to come talk to us, eventually I get up and start walking to her and she begins walking to our table. We mentioned to her the situation, and she begins to give us an attitude. The Fries were at the edge of the table and She touched the fries multiple times with her full hand flipping it back and forth then pressed down on them and said they were Still Warm; I told her they been sitting out for more than 20 min.! I told her if she would've come out when I requested a manager she would've realized it. It was only about the Fries and the Spicy Galbi. She was so adamant that she was correct, she then told me "Is this your first time here?" Yes, and last one we responded. She mentioned that the wings are all prebagged and they have no control of the sauces. Umm they said this was fresh? but i guess not. It was easy things they could've corrected, but they didn't until they noticed the frustration and more customers coming in when this "Boss" even denied that she was in charge. False Advertising, manager needs better training and she didn't want to give her name, but here is a picture of her attached. Personally, I will not change my review because this was not correct in any level starting off with an attitude, saying we are wrong when we are not and telling me when things are spicy and temp difference. I have had better Service at McDonalds on their fries and no complains when I tell them it's cold. There were cameras so they can review them.

Yelp
Quickly seated, nice service. Food took a little bit to come out. Got honey garlic, Gangnam style, and wings of fire. All wings. Nothing super special but everything was solid. Wings of fire wasn't extreme, less spicy than buldak

Yelp
I love bb.q chicken but wtf is this?? It's smaller than my thumb.. super disappointed. I even chose this location hoping their wings would be at least decent size, makes me never want to order from here again

Yelp
This is hands down, my favorite korean fried chicken spot in San Diego. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, though I do wish they can do half and half of more flavors. They have good sides as well and service is alright. There's plenty of spots to sit if you choose to dine indoors, and parking is well...it's Convoy so it kind of sucks everywhere. The price is a tad bit high.

Yelp
The chicken wings we had were honestly not that crispy and compared to their older pictures, they don't use as much breading. It's definitely pricey for what you get. The corn cheese was okay, there was a nice cheese pull though. One of the flavors I got was the spicy original, and it had 3 flames next to it but it wasn't spicy at all. The large beer is huge! But we were served with a lot of foam. I heard other locations were better than this one so I may try another location and see if there is a difference.

Yelp
Crispiest fried chicken ever. Beats out every American brand by a mile and comes with huge pieces for a good price. Tteokbokki was creamy and delicious as well

Yelp
We order the rose tteokbokki and Gangnam style wings and spicy galbi wings. The rose tteokbokki was creamy and well seasoned. In order to choose more than one sauce you have to order separate wings. The service was great and quick. They have Kpop in the background. I knocked down a star because you can't choose 2 or more sauce for 16 wings.

Yelp
This place is so good. I've followed them on Instagram for a while and I had no idea there was one a few minutes from my house. I got the original boneless chicken with radish and fries. Everything was so good and I will go back and try the other foods. The restaurant was really nice and clean. I did order to-go but next time I'll probably go back and eat there.

Yelp
Meh. I went in. Wrote my name in the "wait to be seated" list. No one ever welcomed me or said hello while I waited for the rest of my party. The chicken is juicy. The food is okay (in my opinion). I think the big chickens/ whole chickens are overpriced at ~$49. Clean. Simple decor. No desserts despite desserts listed on the menu. :(
