"Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, the Los Angeles-based celebrity chef duo behind the Las Vegas restaurants, have provided at least 16,000 meals to displaced residents and firefighters through their work with World Central Kitchen since January 7. “When people need to be fed, no matter how bad the conditions are, the restaurant community steps up,” says Milliken. The nonprofit, co-founded by chef José Andrés, does the logistical work of connecting chefs like Milliken and Feniger with the volunteers, food, and appliances that make it possible to bring things like sandwiches, chicken curry, meatloaf, chilaquiles, and coffee from Milliken and Feniger’s food truck and commissary kitchen out to locations where evacuees and firefighters need hot meals. The duo is also accepting donations at their Las Vegas restaurants for World Central Kitchen." - Janna Karel
