Ashley Christensen’s BB’s Crispy Chicken Opens in Raleigh, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Opened on Saturday, October 30 in Midtown East, Raleigh, this fast-casual concept from chef Ashley Christensen centers on fried chicken sandwiches offered at varying spice levels and topped with thick-cut pickles, lettuce, tomato, and Duke’s mayo. The menu pairs sandwiches with sides like waffle fries and crunchy cheese curds and features 13 different sauces — reviewers singled out a Scorpion Red Fire selection among the top picks — reinforcing a spicy, sandwich-forward, quick-service vibe. The launch represents the chef’s first expansion beyond her Raleigh base, with additional locations planned in Durham and Cary in 2022 and further growth beyond the Triangle anticipated." - Erin Perkins

Google
It says Korean chicken, however there are no Korean sauces to put on the chicken. That should've been my first indication that this visit wasn't going to go right. Everything that I asked for they didn't have. So I compromised. I got chicken tenders that look like they had a lot of flavor but had none. If you don't have a sauce to dip it in are you going to get is plain chicken. I'm just used to more flavor. They didn't have the sweet potato waffle fries. So I settled for just regular sweet potato fries. Ew. I got a combo that included a fountain drink. The fountain drink that I wanted was all carbonation and no syrup. And then the manager said they didn't have any to replace it. So I ended up getting a bottle drink which are $3 a piece. It was $7.56 for two drinks in which I already paid for fountain drinks. I will not be back and do not recommend.

Google
Awesome CRISPY chicken and and in-house sauces, and they called out the Dukes Mayonnaise ( the only actual real mayo lol ) on the menu so I was convinced right then:) Also the crispiest I have found. We had an original sandwich, Nashville tenders, Korean bbq tenders, fries and tea. The regular sandwich was fantastic. Juicy and tender with a very good brioche style bun that held up well. Nashville hot tenders were my perfect spice. About twice my favorite Texas Pete level, full flavor profile and not just a little heat. Definitely recommend! Korean bbq chicken was true to Korean style leading with the soy over the teriyaki flavors, if that makes sense? Definitely a nice choice. Another wonderful thing is the “double fry” method and the properly crunchy potatoes it produces. The fries of my dreams.. This was our first visit but we live a mile away and will certainly be back frequently. If the service or food falls off I will absolutely report back. Best for last, the RANCH. House made buttermilk ranch dressing that is better than mine at home! Staff friendly and appreciative, chicken absolutely banging.. go get ya some!:)

Update: It’s been two weeks since I reported my experience, and I still haven’t received a call back. I was told the district manager tried to reach out from a different number — there were no missed calls or voicemails. This has truly been one of the worst experiences I’ve had in terms of both food and service. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. —————————————————————————- I ordered a Nashville hot sandwich and had a few bites before realizing the center was completely raw. My husband returned it immediately. They threw it out and refunded us, but offered no apology, no concern — nothing. Within hours, I had vomiting and diarrhea and had to take a sick day off work. I’m breastfeeding, and soon after, my baby also got sick. I called them several times and was told the district manager would contact me. 2 days later — no call, no follow-up, no accountability. Their only offer? Another meal. After a serious food safety failure that affected both me and my baby, I’m not going anywhere near BB’s again. This wasn’t just poor service — it was a clear health risk, followed by silence and neglect. At a minimum, customers deserve safe food and responsible action. We got neither.

If you asked me a year ago, I probably would have given this place a 5 star. I love the gluten free chicken nuggets(used to be tenders) and the sweet potato fries. When they're cooked right, they're great, and it's awesome to have a GF option. However, the quality is inconsistent. Sometimes they're out of sauces or sodas. Sometimes the food is overcooked or cooked in old oil. Recently I had really overcooked nuggets that were tough to eat. They could definitely benefit from more consistent management or oversight. On a positive note, the staff is always friendly and upbeat, and the space always appears clean. But I'll probably take a break from BB's given my last few experiences.

Google
Dont be fooled by the menu that says they have a vegetarian entree of fried green tomatoes sandwich. They do NOT. They simply say “they are out” of fried green tomatoes every time I’ve attempted to eat at this restaurant. They need to just take it off the menu instead of making vegetarians think they can eat here.

Google
I’ve gotta say, this might be the best crispy chicken sandwich I’ve had in the Triangle yet! Super crunchy batter, juicy chicken, and the lettuce, thick pickles and mayo made for a really enjoyable chicken sandwich. Pair that with their triple play side and you won’t be disappointed. The dining experience is also pretty nice with the place looking clean and brand new. The outdoor area also looks great, with live music playing and plenty of seating to accommodate families and groups.

Google
I just dined in at BB'S Crispy Chicken. I ordered a 3 piece chicken tenders combo with honey mustard dipping sauce. All the sodas for sofa machine was out!!! There was no ice in soda machine, it was broken. I had to tell one of employees there is no ice coming out the soda machine and the employee had to go to back of the restaurant and bring out a bag of ice. My food was brought to the table however, the chicken tenders had no favor/no taste and were over cooked hard. The honey mustard sauce was very nasty - it tastes just like plain yellow mustard (dark yellow in color). I will not come back anymore!

Google
Pretty good food all around. The Nashville hot chicken was hitting. The sweet potato waffle fires were great with hot honey sauce. Th me cheese curds are the surprise here…they were better than I expected. Will definitely be back to try other sandwiches. The atmosphere is chill too plenty of outdoor space.

Yelp
Got lunch here recently and enjoyed it! First, we had the food delivered to the nearby beer garden, so I have no comment on the ambience inside BB's :) I got the Korean fried chicken sandwich while my wife got the classic fried chicken sandwich, and we both also ordered a side Caesar salad. It didn't take long for the food to arrive, and we tucked in! The Caesar salad was actually pretty decent - the lettuce tasted fresh and the Caesar dressing was tasty. My Korean fried chicken sandwich was good! The chicken was cooked well and I liked the sauce. My wife felt like her classic chicken sandwich was a little underseasoned, though. Overall, I would definitely come back here, especially since they conveniently deliver to the nearby beer garden :)

Yelp
soda machine broken. no ice. no shakes (machine broken). music too loud but nice, helpful worker...he's trying his best. and it's a good chicken sandwich corporate get it together and help your workers!!!

Yelp
Gluten-free breaded chicken nuggets fried in a dedicated gluten-free fryer? Yes! Gluten free fries, tots, and sweet potato waffle fries also fried in a dedicated fryer? Yes! Gluten-free dipping sauces? Yes! Life is hard for someone with Celiac disease that loves fried chicken and potatoes, but BB's makes it a little easier. They also have gluten-free grilled chicken and fried green tomatoes. I'm looking forward to them getting their gluten-free cheese curds back in stock. For non gluten free folks, there are additional options like fried chicken sandwiches on brioche that my husband says are tasty. The service was prompt and friendly and they have a large, covered patio to sit outside when the weather is nice.

Yelp
I had a great experience here, although my meal had to be remade a few times due to being made a fried sandwich instead of grilled. The staff was very polite and understanding, I loved the atmosphere and the ambiance. Great for a quick bite.

Yelp
Stopped by BB's last weekend before a concert and were pleasantly surprised! Not busy at all and pretty quick service. I got the chicken tenders and fries with ranch and honey mustard dipping sauces. The tenders were hot and fresh and seasoned very well, though a little on the dry side. Both sauces were delicious though which made up for the dryness. My girlfriend got the Korean BBQ sandwich which was pretty tasty as well, good balance of sweet and a little spice. The fries were pretty tasty as well. Looking forward to coming back to try more sauces and one of the specialty sandwiches.

Yelp
I tried BB's while meeting up with my sister one evening at Rosecomb. BB's was clean and well lit. I enjoyed the chicken Korean bbq chicken sandwich meal. Very flavorful and a perfect addition to drinking my hard kombucha and just enjoying a slow Sunday afternoon. I do recommend this spot. BB's brought my food over to Rosecomb. The staff here are polite and professional. No complaints.

Yelp
This was less than mid. We have been to bbs many times and this was one of the worst experiences we have had at any of their restaurants. They were out of apple juice, lemonade and fruit punch so there was no drinks for my children. I'm glad to see they have kids meals now but hopefully they will have better supply of the kids options are they did not have fruit either. The manager did come talk to us and stated they had supply issues and hoped they would get them resolved and we would come back again.

Yelp
First try at BB's tonight, You order your food and find a seat... we went with a group of 7 people so seating was a little difficult to find with many people just hanging around drinking and socializing because a brewery and beer garden is attached. Inside the restaurant was so very cold and loud, no body was sitting inside. So we had to find two tables outside, basically picnic tables that were dirty. They offer a few gluten free options that worked for me. GF chicken nuggets were a bit dry, but they were real chicken chunks with panko "breading". French fries were good and my son said the Cobb salad was good. I would probably try it again, maybe not on a Friday night.

Brian T.

Yelp
We haven't found a good hot chicken place outside of Nashville other than Rocky's Hot Chicken in Asheville until now. We recently tried BB's and I have to say their Hot Chicken sandwich (regular heat) and bacon and cheese "Totchos" were both excellent, crispy (true to their name) and great flavor. The only reason I'm deducting one star is that they carry a huge selection of sodas, but the majority of them were out except for 2 or 3. However we didn't go for the soda, so not a major disappointment, but someone needs to do a better job managing the soda machine.

Gerald W.

Yelp
Food was overcooked and fries appeared to have been cooked in old burnt grease. All the fountain drinks were out except 2 flavors. The trash was over flowing as if it hadn't been taken out in a while. They need to improve on just about everything. I don't recommend at all.

Yelp
Service is super quick! That is all the nice thing I can say about this place. It's next to Rosecomb beer garden. The chicken tenders were terrible. We got the 5 piece chicken tenders with Korea sauce. It was not good: soggy and way way too salty!!! This is the second time. The sauce is way too salty and they added salt on top. Wow. We also got the korean tots. Same thing, added salt on top of what is already salty enough. Gross. I did ask for Xtra crispy tots, and they delivered . This is my second time. I would not recommend this place nor would I come back. They should have chicken wings with different korean sauces if that is their theme. Maybe someone got heavy handed with the salt but this is my second time trying. Same results.

Yelp
Pretty solid lunch, fresh and well prepared... a little messy, but tasty enough to make up for it. Counter service was efficient, you can also order via QR code on the tables. Facility was open, bright and clean. Looking forward to trying the other sandwiches and tenders next time.

Yelp
The food is so delicious/tasty and cooked right! The service is top notch and everyone is always so friendly. We love this place and would recommend this spot to everyone. There is always a great atmosphere. "Our weekend Hot spot"

Yelp
We have gone here a few times now for both takeout and dine in and it's been great every time. The atmosphere is especially nice because it is attached to a brewery and they share a large outdoor seating section with plenty of room for the kiddos to run around and play. They have bean bag toss and some other games available. The food is also delicious. They don't have the cheddar mayo anymore which was our favorite but they have other sauces like chipotle ranch that are a must try. My partner prefers to get a sandwich but I personally like the chicken tenders the best. The fries and tots are also amazing especially the loaded ones. Along with their fountain drinks they have limeade and sweet tea. Service is fast and reliable and staff has always been friendly and helpful. If you're a chicken lover check them out!

Yelp
I've heard a lot of good things about this restaurant! I was thrilled to find out for myself what the hype was all about. This place is huge in the inside and very clean. The menu is simple and everything must be purchased separately. They don't offer combos. Service was amazing and the food was very basic.

Shara A.

Yelp
No soda machine, no milkshakes, no ice - these things have been out of commission for MONTHS. Area is dirty and not maintained. We enjoyed this spot frequently since it opened. But the lack of care from management is telling. This place is one its way out the door sadly, which is a shame cause we enjoyed the location and space so much.

Yelp
The chicken was absolutely terrible. Literally a rubber chicken, could hardly bite it. The fries and tots were good though and it was convenient to a brewery which is the only reason we ordered here.

Ro W.

Yelp
I used to go to BBs in Durham and it was always excellent- then it closed. I recently went to the Cary location and was shocked at how terrible it was. I just checked recent reviews and they are consistently bad. Walked in and it smelled terrible, soda machine had leaked everywhere and was out of service. Soles of my shoes were sticky for the rest of the day. Poor attempt at clean up. No one was actively staffing the register. No clear system for bringing out food- employee was confused walking around patio trying to figure out whose food he had. Worst of all, the chicken was disgusting: rubbery and underdone in places and leathery and tough elsewhere. There was not a crispy molecule of breading to be found. It was as if they had taken frozen breaded chicken strips and stuck them in the microwave. Virtually inedible.
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
The young man working the counter was very nice. The diet soda was out, which was a disappointing. It appeared there was not enough staff to fix the machine. We got the tots and 2 sandwiches. The tots were warm, and they had a weird taste, I am thinking it had something to do with the oil they were fried in. We both took a few bites and threw out the sandwiches and tots, just not impressed with the food at all. We will not be returning. I am attaching a picture of the breading on the chicken it was most like one piece of breading on the chicken. We ended up doing the drive thru at Panera for dinner.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place.. tried many times it just isn't worth it. The bar they are connected to is nice though, good vibes.

Yelp
Tried BB's Crispy Ch chicken out to see what the hype was about ... Went to the Parkside location in Cary ... First I want to say that the space is nice and large with a huge outdoor area which is nice but wish there were space heaters available for cooler fall nights .. it would be more appealing to sit out there if there were... hint hint nudge nudge.. So this location doesnt have their boozy shakes so just be warned . . So now onto their food... it's good to know that the gluten free crowd can eat here... unlike the Lords chicken sandwich place across the street ... this place has their chicken in a gluten free panko breading which is pretty good... And for an upcharge they can give you a GF bun also ... So I wanted to keep it simple so I orderd the "BB'S PICK" which was crispy chicken tenders with thick-cut pickles on a toasted brioche bun and I added green magic dust and bacon to it . I also added BB'S TRIPLE PLAY which a Sample all of the Side BBites--Sweet Potato Waffle Fries, Sea-Salt Brined French Fries, and Crunchy Cheese Curds dusted with green magic dust So with what I ordered out of the way ... let's just say I was a little bit let down ... The chicken was on the dryer side and flavor was lackluster .... even the green magic dust didnt offer much flavor to the sandwhich ... I guess they want people to order their chicken with the sauce to dip it in to give it flavor... The triple play was mainly fries and some cheese curds and a few sweet potatoe fries ... The curds were ok ... the sweet potato fries were good .. the regular fries were ehhh .. Next time if I come back I'll just do sweet potato fries maybe the curds... Overall not sure what the hype was about this place ... Maybe I went when things where so so ... Oh if you want to know what the green magic dust was ... the guy at the counter said it wss basically dried jalapeno dust.

Yelp
Their chicken is excellent and the flavor is better than Chick-fil-A's. It's great to grab a sandwich there and a beer at the place next-door. delicious.
google avatar

Talia S.

Yelp
The food was good, the service was excellent. The young man who advised us on the "gluten free" Options was wonderful. They were also able to easily accommodate a table change after we ordered. My complaint is that they have sandwiches and one of the options is a gluten free chicken patty...... you would think that might mean there is a GF bun. No. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.
google avatar

Chip R.

Yelp
Bottom line: BB's Crispy Chicken delivered on a crispy and crunchy fried chicken sandwich that was delicious, as well as the accompanying sea salt brined fries. They kept the crunch during delivery at home and tasted great. The Deets: Note...this review is for food ordered for delivery. I had the chance to try BB's Crispy Chicken by delivery recently, it looked like something that would be beyond the normal delivery sandwich and I was correct. I chose the BB's Pick sandwich which is their basic chicken sandwich (with thick-cut pickles on a toasted brioche bun) and I added Duke's mayo to the fried chicken sandwich (if you from the South, you know that Duke's is the legendary regional mayo of choice, can't beat it). Now when they say "crispy chicken" in the name, they are not being subtle at all...this chicken is CRIPSY, even crunchy. I like it, much better than soggy, no-crunch breading/coating than can be on other chicken sandwiches. The flavor was spot on for me, and if you need some hot and savory taste to your chicken sandwich then you can order from their "Hot List" menu or choose varieties with pimento cheese or BBQ cheddar, etc. The French fries were sea salt brined and pretty crispy and I loved that as well, I like my fries crunchy actually. If anything, people might find the chicken coating too crunchy for their taste or the brined fries a bit too salty but these items were not factors for me. In a delivery choice meal, this crispy fried chicken sandwich and crunchy fries hit the spot and held up/made it home with delivery without losing any of that needed crisp. I am pleasantly surprised by Ashley Christensen's chicken sandwich venture, I seem to like her chicken creations best. I am a fan!

Yelp
Located off of 540, this was a quick pit stop in n our way to Pittsboro from the north of the Triangle. The place has a great, clean fast-food vibe on the inside and has a lovely pergola/beer garden on the outside. This looks perfect for the withkids crowd, with corn hope and green spaces right beside the roundabout. The food: an interesting take on fried chicken. We got chicken strips, which seemed to be sliced breast meat. Not the best choice for proteins because a quick fry makes it tough, but it made for almost picture perfect portioning. The crust came off a lot like a Calabash-style corn breading, crunchy, and made a nice base for the sauces to adhere. Sauces: yum-yum, kind of a mayoketchupwithsoy concoction and the white buffalo (hot sauce and mayo). The hit for me: the totchos, basically topped tater tots- we opted for the cheese whiz and bacon, which were kind of a gross pub food guilty pleasure. All in all, great atmosphere, a step above the fast food all around, and a once we're you can take the kids on a Sunday afternoon. The place joins up with a tap room type joint next door, so get the kids some nuggies and let them throw corn hole bean bags at each other while you grab a pint. It's not amazing, but it's not a bad concept.

Yelp
I was visiting from out of town and SO delighted to find gluten-free fried chicken. Freshly made and rapidly served, BB's was crispy, flavorful, and memorable. They let you mix and match sides, so we indulged in tots, cheese curds, and fries. Make sure you pop in here! It's fast casual, so don't expect frills, but it's spectacular and not to be missed!

Wesley Y.

Yelp
Chicken sandwiches were over-fried and tough. Fries were over-cooked. Chicken tenders had weird anemic color, flat/stringy texture, and no flavor (but when shown to the cashier , he said "that's how they always look"). But then we ordered nuggets and they looked and tasted ok. But definitely a change from previous times we ate here and the Durham location.
google avatar

Sho Y.

Yelp
After all the hype building up to their eventual opening, very disappointed with the lack of flavor. Chicken was fried well but way too bland. One and done.

Yelp
A wonderful family affair! It was my first time at BB's Crispy Chicken and it did not disappoint. It's in a nice plaza, so we were able to walk around the area after we ate. The service was good! The food was even better! The pictures speak for themselves. Everything is sold a la carte (separately), but It is good quality. We sat outside and it was nice to be able to play corn hole, jumbo jenga, and large connect 4 while we waited for our food. If you're looking for a new place to try, I wouldn't hesitate with giving this place a shot. It's nothing crazy, but it's still good. I do plan to return in the near future!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch yesterday on my way home from an appointment and walked in to an empty restaurant around 2pm. Dining room was clean. Staff was friendly. Food came out about 15 mins later. I ordered the chicken tenders combo with French fries and a sweet tea. I filled my cup with half sweet and half unsweet tea. Took a sip and the amount of sugar in the tea was crazy! They need to cut back on the sugar in their tea. Took a bite of the chicken without sauce. It was ok. Not freshly cooked. They weren't hot. Chicken was a little over cooked and tough. Flavor was ok. I got the Ranch sauce as well as the Hot White Buffalo Ranch. Both sauces were fresh and tasted homemade. I loved both! The French fries were dark on the outside. Not sure why. Maybe the frying grease ? They were soft so I know they weren't burnt. They tasted good. Dip them in the Ranch sauce . I had no issue with the flavor or texture. I love soft French fries. They were served hot. Will I go back? If I'm in the area, maybe.

Yelp
Checking out the grand opening of BBs at Parkside! First off there is a huge Dwali and Fall festival going on, so great timing! Tons of families and great vibes on a beautiful Saturday morning! Despite the number of people the line was not too long and the staff were taking card orders in line. The woman that helped me was so nice and helpful! I decided to get the classic sandwich with extra pickles. Wow! The sandwich was huge! Extra thick piece of chicken with warm bredding, hot tender chicken, yummy creamy mayo, and crispy pickles--soo good! It was a little difficult to get all of it in my mouth, so I had to take it in pieces, but it was so worth it as it was so good! I cannot wait to come back and to eat these good vibes again!!

Yelp
Stopped by during their opening weekend! Loved the interior of the restaurant - it has a similar vibe as Shake Shack, but somehow brighter and more welcoming. I got a Hot Honey sandwich and a Pimento Please sandwich, with normal fries and cheese curds as sides. They also have a bunch of sauces to choose from. I believe you get one sauce per sandwich and any extra is $0.50. Kind of confused me because I would assume you'd get sauce for the sides too. The sandwich flavors definitely sound so delicious on paper, but honestly it was a bit lacking. The Hot Honey wasn't spicy at all, and although it only has one pepper out of five on their spicy scale, I was expecting to taste at least a little bit of heat. I definitely had to drown my sandwich with the sauce (which was also Hot Honey lol) and I could still only taste the sweetness of the honey, and no spice. The chicken itself was also a bit dry for me, although the breading was super crispy. The Pimento Please was better, with an extremely generous serving of their housemade pimento cheese. And when I say extremely generous, I mean it. It was almost like a pimento sandwich, with a side of chicken. As for the sides, the fries were good, your standard fries. The cheese curds though, that was great. A little on the salty side, but perfectly fried and cheesy in the middle. I do want to come back and try their limited time Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and their spicier sauces. The extra sauce upcharge is annoying though, especially since they have such a large variety of flavors and I want to try them all.

Akiem B.

Yelp
Terrible service. I ordered take out and they did not include my fries. I called left a message no call back. Phone goes to voicemail when you call
google avatar

Blair K.

Yelp
I'll toss them a 3 star, won't say much other than it's not fair to negatively review a new restaurant. It's a thing. I will say they were very nice, and that we are hopeful, and that it was decent. We were waiting since 2020, and hopefully the dream will come to fruition. When the tap room opens?
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
I was so excited about this place finally opening. It's in a nice location and quite large. Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed. We ordered the tailgate pack which came with 16 chicken strips 2 pimento cheese, 4 pickled coleslaw, and 4 sauces. $28 The chicken strips were the size of jalapeño poppers. The breading was so hard it hurt the roof of my mouth. I wouldn't recommend this at all. The sauces don't have much flavor. We got the ranch, honey, jalapeño & scorpion. Not enough flavor to say they were good. Now the scorpion was hot but better when mixed with another sauce. Ultimately, not planning on going back to this location. I'm sure when the brewery opens I might but to say I'm hungry let's go eat.... I'll pass.

Jaleon B.

Yelp
Please be careful eating here bit into a fry and cracked my tooth (foreign object found within) and had to have it removed. Reached out to Justin at the bbscrispychicken.com email three times and no reply. Went in person a couple of times and one of the managers said i should give up as stuff like this has happened before and you will just be ghosted.

Yelp
I heard a famous Chef started this place. I tried it. Price is right. Korean tenders were amazing. Fries were delicious. Side Salad was big and fresh. Regular tenders and Hot Honey was tasty. A diamond in the rough. You can eat inside with a Cali type vibe decor. The staff was pleasant and hospitable. You owe it to yourself to at least try this place once. This is at least four or five stars. Cʻmon man!

Kim T.

Yelp
So sad to see the drastic decline in this spot since opening not too long ago. We have 4 small kids and were very excited that a local place with a great outdoor seating option had opened close-by to where we live. I remember our first visit shortly after they opened and immediately noticed how well kept and clean it was when we stepped inside. We were thrilled when a friendly staff and delicious food followed our first few experiences! Welp in the past 2 months, that is no longer the case! It's filthy (tables not wiped, high chairs crusty with previous childrens slobber, bathrooms YIKES). And the food, sigh. The salads have been rotten for the past month. I very politely on one occasion nonchalantly approached the staff to point out that my salad was slimy and smelly, and I even made sure to whisper so that the couple ordering didn't hear my complaint. Sadly, the Asian chick at the register couldn't have been more rude and never once apologized. I was actually the one profusely apologizing and not sure why, seeing I had no reason to be. After waiting 10 mins for a new salad, she hands it to me again with no apologies and simply said, "Here, that's as fresh as it will get!" Wait, wahh? I was in shock. We do/did frequent here at least once a week because of the kids but even tonight we got take out and clearly hadn't learned my lesson not to order the salad because it had a foul odor, I had to spit out my first bite of a rotten tomato. Im so turned off and just utterly disappointed all around. Notnto mentioned they forgot of dressings for the chicken, but I guess we should have double-checked before leaving. One star because the dressings still taste yummy, but Im completely grossed out now on so many levels. Shouldn't be surprised with a bunch of teenagers running the joint.

Yelp
As Ashley's empire expands, we are along for the ride of good food. This quick service chicken joint didn't disappoint. I appreciated the fresh pickle more than at other chicken sandwich places. I'll need to explore the menu more in the future

I had the chicken tenders. They were nowhere near crispy. The chicken was stringy, dry, parts were translucent. I did like the sweet potato fries.

Yelp
Hoo boy...I love a good fried chicken sandwich but I'm not sure this is the place. I ordered the Nashville hot and I've had bananas spicier than this. It seemed like the chicken was fried two days ago and then re-fried for my order. Also, to get toppings, they're ala cart...$.50 for lettuce, mayo, tomato, etc. The piece of chicken they used for the sandwich seemed to be a roughly cut breast and it sat awkwardly in the bun. The brioche bun is nice and buttered, though. I will say the fries are excellent and the restaurant has a nice outdoor patio for seating. Try this place, if you have to, but I'd recommend going elsewhere.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place. You can sit down at the table and order via the QR code. The directions say they will bring your order to you...but they don't. They'll instead yell your name and leave your order on the front counter for you to get. While they have shakes on the menu, they don't actually have a milkshake machine yet so you can't order any milkshakes. The chicken tasted like chicken. No flavor. No seasoning. Just chicken. The tots were cold. A little disappointing considering the owner is an award winning chef, right? Listen, I'd go back one more time and try something different on the menu but if it that too lacks flavor and they don't have a milkshake machine then that's it - I'm done!

Yelp
Yesterday, while in the area holiday shopping, the family and I were hungry for something relatively quick but also delish so we stopped back in to BB's Crispy Chicken to order lunch. FOOD: Pimento Please (chix sandwich with fresh pimento cheese), order of cheese curds and order of tenders with buttermilk ranch, southwest ranch and mayo sauces. The chicken at BB's is quality stuff. Thick, juicy and breaded just right. Each time I've been here, I'm impressed with the chicken, itself and the sauces. The tenders were just as good, the curds were slightly better than last time and the Pimento Please sandwich was good. The pimento cheese is piled onto the sandwich, and if I were to make a suggestion, I'd put half of the amount of pimento cheese on the sandwich since it is fresh cheese and has a powerful flavor on it's own. I ended up removing about half of the topped pimento cheese just so I could taste the quality of the chicken. This would make the sandwich taste better, and it would save BB's on costs. This is the one time I make an exception and say that it simply had too much cheese on it. Still can't believe I said that. SCORE: 4.1 STARS!! SERVICE: Nothing crazy good but also not bad either. It was as simple as placing the order, grabbing a vibrating notification stick and waiting for it to be delivered on the counter. There was very, and I mean very, little interaction with the young lady taking our order. Everything seemed to be in order for your average, 3-star rating until we went over to the beverage bar, where there was a massive spill on the floor, that I'm going to assume had been there for awhile due to how sticky the floor was becoming. People were finessing their way around the mess but it didn't seem like it was an urgent matter for the staff. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. SCORE: 2.3 STARS! OVERALL SCORE: I like BB's, I really do, but the service and cleanliness of this visit could have been much better. 3.5 STARS!!

Yelp
BB's recently opened a location in Cary!! They are know for their delicious chicken sandwich created by Ashley Christensen is a chef and restaurateur based in Raleigh, North Carolina! I was invited to their Family and Friends Day to try their menu items and I loved everything!! The Nashville Hot sandwich is on the menu for limited-time and it was my fave. (Hopefully they will make is a regular) You can also order a grilled chicken on sandwiches, salads and wraps for a lighter meal option. BB's also has a location in Raleigh and Durham! CHECK THEM OUT!!

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED this place! Anna, the store manager was very friendly. Because it was our first time, she let us try all the sauces for free. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Cheddar chicken sandwich and then we both shared the Triple play trio, which consisted of french fries, sweet potato fries and the cheese curds. Here are my thoughts... i love the sauces! Except the scorpion red fire (of course) because it was too spicy. I wish they had combos because i do think paying everything separately is overpriced. Our total came to $34 when all we ordered was two sandwiches, one order of fries and two fountain drinks. The food was delicious nonetheless, i would pass on the cheese curds - just me as i never really cared for them. The place itself is humongous, it gives very much up-UP scale Shake Shack with outdoor seating and games on the patio. I feel as though they put alot of money and effort into the store itself instead of adding more variety to the menu and incorporating a drive thru. I feel like that would have been more beneficial but i do understand what they were going for. Overall, I see this being a great spot to hangout especially because they outlets at every seating!

Yelp
This is a Ashley Christensen establishment, so the food is great!! Very nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They have the ikea high chairs which are really nice for the kiddos sitting table height. The staff is great as they are very accommodating and offer a ton of suggestions. The food was very tasty, I would definitely revisit again in the future.

Yelp
I'm trying hard to like this place. Service & ambiance are fine- people are super friendly & helpful, no issues there. I find the crispy chicken to be very hard to eat. It's thick & hard (beyond "crispy") & doesn't leave me anticipating my next bite. Today's sandwich was super fresh, as they were just opening when I arrived, but the interior of that batter was mushy, I guess undercooked? Chicken meat was cooked just fine. However, the flavor is not wowing me. Pickles are delicious & plentiful on my sandwich. If the slaw were a little sweeter I'd love that on the sandwich to counter the pickles and salty bbq sauce but when I tried the slaw in Durham it was not my style (I prefer very slightly sweet) so I didn't order it again. Maple pumpkin shake is delicious. Rich - but that's a shake. I seldom order shakes but if I do, it's to dip fries in them. I prefer not to do that with this meal for whatever reason after the first 2 fries. Bbq sauce is my go-to at any place, but the BB's version is just too salty (for me) so I should select a different sauce with a little more of a sweet element for a tang I'm after. There are many choices, I just don't know what they are like until I try them. User error. Fries are fine. But I'm not enjoying them. They are tough. Are they battered? Does that keep flavor from coming through? I'm just not getting an amazing potato flavor. Fries are my weakness so this is saying a lot. I suspect there are many people out there who might love this place. I like to see new restaurants do well, but I think I'm done trying to like/support BB's. I've eaten once from each place and had consistent mediocre response each time. Like I said, I tried. Very expensive to not love it. $17 for basic sandwich fries & shake. Ouch.
