"BB’s interior is a shrine to what KC does best: blues and BBQ. Take a seat inside and enjoy the murals and posters dedicated to blues musicians, or get a picnic table on their patio to listen to performers from around Kansas City. Order the BB’s King Combo: you get four ribs, sausage (which is store-bought, but still gets the job done), and your choice of one meat—go with the beef brisket, and pay a little extra for the burnt ends. When it comes to sauce, their sweet heat peach tastes like a spicy, fruity jam and pairs well with the smoky, tender brisket." - ryan bernsten

How did we not know this was here?! What a cool find! If you live in Brookside or Waldo or any of the surrounding areas give this place a shot! We enjoyed the gumbo and the burnt and sandwich. Don’t get the gumbo if you’re hungry though. Although delicious, it was a kinda chintzy. Tiny little bowl for the price…

The BBQ is the real deal. The sauces are all great! The cole slaw isn't ruined with mayo, it's good too. They don't short you on portions so it's a good value. Live blues music when I went. Too loud inside but perfect on the outdoor patio, equipped with cooling misters for hot days.

BB’s Lawnside is an underrated KC BBQ restaurant. I enjoyed their pulled pork sandwich with skillet fries and cornbread. Great Sweet BBQ sauce. The cornbread was sweet. My only criticism is they don’t have their cornbread listed on their menu as a side item. I wouldn’t have know they served cornbread if I didn’t see it with the soups. Plenty of places to sit. I just prefer to go during lunch when they are not having bands playing.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Cool people. Great band on Friday night. I was digging the whole vibe. Service was a little slow but not bad. Highly recommend the place!

Google
The BBQ was great, we however didn't care much for their sauces. We ordered a platter, can't remember the name, that feeds 2, and comes with 2 sides. Chicken wings and I added the burnt ends to the platter, OMG they were AMAZING!! Also if you prefer to sauce your own BBQ the platter came with sauce over the meat, just FYI. Overall great experience and will return!

I love listening to 101 The Fox on Sunday nights for their blues night. They often advertise for B.B.'s Lawnside BBQ during that time, so we finally decided to go check it out. I don't know why it took us so long to do so, but we're so glad we finally did! My entire family really liked it!! Even my children who are sensitive to loud places liked it! We sat on the deck, which was less stimulating for the kids. It's a great option for a special needs family to have. The food was simply AMAZING. When people talk about how great KC BBQ is, the same usual names get tossed around, but sadly, BB's doesn't get mentioned as much as it should. I'm going to start bringing out of town friends here so they can spread the word, too. I highly, highly recommend this place! It's my new favorite! ❤️

We stopped in prior to closing and it was great. People were friendly, staff were very cool and the music was great. Definitely will be back Great Date night experience

Google
Soooo...on Saturdays they have Jam Sessions where you can enjoy a live band. Came for the first time to see my friends perform and enjoy the food. Welllll, unfortunately the server, Victoria was EXTREMELY inattentive throughout the entire visit. I had to walk to the bar to get another drink as she continued to walk by to other tables. The bartender was kind and made sure she came by but she clearly had an attitude. This isn't a good thing for a first visit. Plus, my friends also said she's terrible when they got her before. Wow! Would have loved to enjoy more food but due to her lack of attentiveness, or concern, it wasnt possible. I did get to order some onion rings which were good, wanted to order something else but she never came back to check. I went on ahead and asked for my check when I was finally able to get her attention. Clearly, she wanted us to leave. I wrote her a note cause her service was awful! As I'm leaving she FOLLOWS ME OUTSIDE! REALLY?! Asked if their was a problem with the service? For real?!? Girl!! I told her the deal she says no I didn't ignore you. Ummmm, sooo going to the bar to get your own drink is standard practice? Thought that was for people seated at the bar??? Ain't no way I'm ever, never going back here.

Yelp
The food, service and atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for! 10/10 all around! Will definitely be back! So far best bar-b-que we've found in KC!

Yelp
This IS Kansas City Barbecue! A roadhouse with blues starting at 7pm. Picnic table seating or a covered patio. The walls and covered with music and murals. Our waitress was outstanding g giving us the best recommendations. The ham and turkey were so tender and full of flavor. The smoked meatloaf is mixed with brisket and full of smoky deliciousness with a light texture that is hard to define. My first visit to the city and this place hit the spot. I almost forgot! GET the bread pudding regular or fried, heck get one of each like we did. You will thank me.

Daryl E.

Yelp
Sweet Heat Peach sauce is amazing. All the meats were very well done, juicy, flavorful, Home fries, I'm typically not a fan of, but the home fries here! Just the right amount of crunch on the outside! Delicious! Definitely a spot I'll be making a stop at any time I come through Kansas City. 10/10

Ron W.

Yelp
This place is amazing. My wife and I go to Kansas City every year for a bbq weekend. We've been to all the big name places. And they're good. Very good. But in our humble opinions BB's beats them all. The meat is perfect every time. The sauce is spot on. And maybe best of all ... the atmosphere is ... well ... it's BB's. You need to try it. Thank me later. (Besides, they have a BBQ Sundae. Oh yes they do...)

Keemy U.

Yelp
This place has amazing good and I have no complaints. Any place that sells good bread pudding is a gem to me. I will go back to Missouri just to eat here again. There are many seats indoors and the hostess was very helpful.

Emma B.

Yelp
Wow, cool place. Wasn't expecting it. We drove to a kind of desolate area of town and the restaurant is basically a hole in the wall kinda place - looks a little dingy on the outside and is on the inside tbh, think dive bar. However, you can get bbq and live music. The bartender took take of us at the high top and was very friendly. Enjoyable the blues music, we ordered a platter of meats, got ribs, sausage, brisket and brisket ends with potato salad and beans. Stand out items were the ribs and beans. Being from Texas wasn't fussed about the brisket, it's soo thinly sliced, basically shaved beef - the burnt ends are more similar to Texas brisket.

Dale L.

Yelp
The food here was excellent. I enjoyed the smoked meatloaf, potato salad, beans, and bread pudding. Your basic bbq shack decor with some really cool murals and memorabilia. The service was excellent and I never had to wait for a drink refill. If you're visiting Kansas City this place is worth a try.

Yelp
This was our first trip to BB's. We will be back. We were warmly welcomed at the door and told to find a seat anywhere. We read the menus and asked another customer if we needed to get up and order, and the other customer said they come and take your order. We had to flag down one of the staff to ask if we could order, and she went to get our server. Once we got our orders placed, all was well. It just took a little time. The vibe of the restaurant was fun. Great walls with gig posters and pictures and a lovely mural of blues artists. The band for the night was setting up as we were leaving. After 7 pm, they have a cover charge. Bonnie Raitt was playing on the sound system through our dinner. Now, onto the food! Large servings, reasonable prices. We have at least 2 more meals from our 'leftovers'. I had the Burnt Ends Platter with put beans and coleslaw. The burnt ends were flavorful, huge, and tender. The sides were also top-notch. Mr. G. Got the smoked chicken platter, and oh, that chicken was tender and flavorful. Except for the slower service at the very beginning, this was a 5 star experience.

Yelp
What Goes better than blues With BBQ BBQ Brisket, Burnt Ends, or even Meat Loaf are seriously enhanced with KC Blues. In the same neighborhood as the original Strouds you can relax to the sounds of original KC Blues with your BBQ! The best of both worlds right on 85th Street. There's old time charm at every table for those who seek a total old time experience. BB's is a can't miss on anyone's BBQ list Will I return, in a heartbeat!

Jessica F.

Yelp
If you think "BBQ sundae" sounds gross, you'll have to take it up with Guy Fieri. This spot was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for good reason. Vintage blues poster player the walls, you can smell the smoke coming from their smokehouse and the service was quick and friendly. This is a Cheers kind of place- they'll remember your name if you come there often enough. It's not in a part of town that is a destination- in fact large maintenance trucks rumbled down the road the entire time. But it is a destination if you want to hit BBS! The BBQ sundae was good- presentation itself is excellent. The beans were flavorful and smoky and were a nice contrast to the creamy coleslaw. My only complaint was that there was very little pork in it- like 1/3 of a cup. I would have liked to see the ratios a little more even. Even with that, I'll be back!

Tammi W.

Yelp
lunch at BB's Lawnside BBQ in Kansas City Missouri. I went for the BBQ sundae from the DDD show, had combo platter and bbq sandwich. I'm not a huge bbq fan but it was unique and pretty good, the spicy sweet peach sauce was the best I've ever had.

Steve K.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall bbq joint. Great smell when you walk in the place. I love their big Jo-Jo fries (battered fries). Nice variety of items. We placed to go order and it was ready in 12-15 minutes but they have plenty of seating too. If you like BBQ, you should check out this place.

Colleen L.

Yelp
I finally got to check out BB's this weekend because my cousin happened to be playing with the band. Everyone was super friendly. They have a nice covered patio area and plenty of family style seating inside. We ordered the BB's King Combo: Four Ribs, Italian Sausage and Brisket. Served with battered fries and Pit Beans. And we added Burnt Ends. I wasn't a fan of the ribs. They were a bit fatty for me. The brisket was sliced and wasn't bad but they were dry. The burnt ends were also ok. My favorite was the Italian sausage. That was fantastic and I would gladly order that again. I'm picky on my bbq beans and I wasn't a fan of these. The battered fries were interesting. Battered Fries are big potato wedges battered and deep fried. I liked them. The live music was super fun. I will be back but I'll probably stick to a sandwich and try some of their other offerings.

Dawn H.

Yelp
There were some pretty strong feelings at our table as we tried BB's Lawnside. Rave reviews include atmosphere, margarita, and skillet fries. Less positive reviews go to the meats and other sides. Hell no are for the sauces. Sauces, there are three, none of which are very good. The meats are fine. The chicken comes out with what looks like a nice, crispy skin but it is NOT. Yuck. But if you pull back the skin the meat isn't so bad. Beans, green beans and battered fries are not terribly impressive, the battered fries really need better seasoning. Therefore, go to BB's for the live music, order a drink and the skillet fries. You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
The fried bread pudding...now for the remaining character count...abcdefghijk...fried bread pudding

Amanda F.

Yelp
While this may not be the most talked about KC BBQ joint, it's definitely worth checking out. The brisket sandwich was tender and flavorful, but the skillet fries stole the show. They are seasoned to perfection, with a nice crunch to them. B.B.'s also has a variety of BBQ sauces, including unique fruit flavored ones. The food was quick and the service was good. Would recommend!

Chandra M.

Yelp
I'm from Texas originally, so I know a thing or two about bbq;) This bbq was outstanding. We enjoyed everything. The catfish was delicious and my burnt ends where mouth watering. The beans are awesome, and the potatoes salad was just as good as my moms and hers is fire . Our server was very attentive and sweet. We really like the ambiance, it was very comfortable, clean and fun to check out all of the history hung up on the walls for all to enjoy.

Amy L.

Yelp
What could be better with great KC barbecue than a side of live blues? A local friend of mine suggested this place, and I'm so glad she did. The food was fantastic - my son and i shared the BB platter with ribs, sausage, brisket, beans and potatoes, stuffed ourselves and had enough for leftovers the next day. Delicious. So fun to sit on the patio and listen to a live band while you eat, although, be aware, this place is loud and there is an extra cover charge for the music.

Soudary K.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place and how great their BBQ is plus they have live music. Decided to finally come here for dinner and arrived around 5:30pm. Band plays at 7pm. I was expecting a larger restaurant with lots of lawn space for outdoor live music. But really it is not that big and is just a hole in the wall dive joint that has been here for quite some time. Locals come here to enjoy the food and live music. Nothing too fancy about it. Band cover charge of $7. Their menu has a nice selection of items. Cocktails priced at $12 each seems a little high to us for a 10oz size plastic cup. Our waiter was attentive. I ordered their burnt ends with side of fries and beans. While my friend ordered their ribs with coleslaw and beans. The BBQ itself was good just as any other BBQ joint in town. To me, a good BBQ place is as good as their beans. Their was alright. Not my favorite but good. My friend didn't really care for them nor the coleslaw. Band started playing. Music is very loud in a small place. Good band playing that night.

Jennie L.

Yelp
Epitome of KC BBQ! They have an outside patio and have live music! This was our first time coming here and it did not disappoint. We ordered onions rings, a platter, chicken sandwich, and dessert and it did not disappoint. The service was quick and friendly - they know exactly what you want before you you realized you wanted it! The peach sauce was divine and my absolute favorite to smother my chicken sandwich with. Come check it out for yourself - you will be leaving with your tummy full and your heart happy!

Dannah S.

Yelp
Decided to randomly try this bbq spot, definitely a hidden gem for me, everything here was so delicious, food was so fresh i burned my mouth a couple times but totally worth it. The decor was super cool, came at a time with no live music so imagine the vibes are even better with the live music. Service was good, was served very quickly. The fried bread pudding is a must try!!! Probably one of the best i ever had. Also those battered fries are amazing. Overall impressed and look forward to trying other menu items in the future.

Kathy W.

Yelp
If you haven't been to BB's for the music you're definitely missing out Sundays are always fun but every day has got great music check out the schedule online. It's such a great neighborhood bar atmosphere to hang out in I love going up there just to have a drink. The barbecue is great they've been making great barbecue for decades make the truck and get yourself over to BBs. When the weather's nice you can sit outside and it's just great people that work there I love the bartenders.

Emily B.

Yelp
We shared all of our food items and everything was fantastic. We were surprised to like the sauces so much (normally the sauces are pretty run-of-the-mill when it comes to barbecue). Excellent service!

Josh P.

Yelp
I'll be honest, it takes a lot for me to rate this low. I went with my in laws for dinner tonight. The chili cheese dip is pretty good. The issues arose when dinner arrived. We had two different burnt end dinner plates and they both had a lot of pork...the reason that's a problem is it's supposed to be beef. We asked our waitress about it and she went to the kitchen only to return with a small piece of beef and pork to try and explain the difference and what happened; its nice to be called a liar when you can clearly tell where in the pork rib the meat came from. It wasn't handled well. Outside of that major screwup, service is decent, I'd avoid the old fashioned (drink) and fries that aren't skillet fries. Beans are way too sweet and not in a good way.

Alexis V.

Yelp
Live music, communal seating, come as strangers, leave as friends. All the meat you want on indoor picnic tables. Hippies, Rastas, and block party no batteries required in the multi-colored suit wearing crowd. Enjoy!

Zach H.

Yelp
Spent the weekend in KC, went to three barbeque spots, and this was the best! Had a combo of the ribs and chicken, it was amazing! That plus the band and the good vibes really made it a great place!

Mohammed D.

Yelp
Being a native Kansas city-an, I was surprised I hadn't heard of B.Bs BBQ most of my life growing up in KC. Then after I ordered a family sized meal for take out, I wasn't surprised that no one had recommended it to me before. I would like to preface this review by explaining that im rating this place based on the beef choices, customer service, and overall take out experience. Before diving into the bbq sauce and its malt after taste, a true bbq enthusiast would never begin a review of bbq based on the sauce, but the fact that this is the start should give you an idea of how underwhelming this place was. The BBQ was so dry it cried for BBQ sauce and the sauce just simply tasted "expired". Also I was surprised that a place like this charged additional just for sauce on a +$150 order. They should've paid me to try that so called sauce. I would compare the 2lbs of beef brisket to be less flavorful and less honorable than deli meat one would buy at any given grocery store, but the difference about deli meat at a grocery store is the fact that they at least give you the dignity to choose the thickness of your cut. I called in to specifically ask if they could do "thick cut" on a large take out order of brisket and simply replied "we cant". Lets just assume that the brisket slicing machine was only working on one setting that day and that this place doesn't just slice lbs and lbs of brisket and throws it into trays until some sad soul braves to take it off their hands. I dont know why I paid $15 for a container of coleslaw so i leave it to one last statement. They should rename the coleslaw to "overpaid and underwhelmed" because that's exactly how you will feel after having it. The chicken wings were the only thing worth consuming maybe because I avoided dipping it in any sauce or we would be back at square one. The burnt ends probably should've been called beef brisket, because the brisket wasn't it. The burnt ends were tender, decent, but nothing wild. That "bbq sauce" was wild, and not the good kind.

Ira M.

Yelp
We are visiting the area from the west coast and we all were looking for the best place to have KC BBQ and we found it! It was a drive for us from our hotel but it was so worth the drive. As we entered the parking lot, we could smell the smoke in the air. The music was pouring out of the place and the energy was just so exciting/electric. We got a seat on the patio and after a short wait, we got menus to look at. We decided on the B.B. Kings Combo with 3 meats, added burnt ends , pit beans and deep fried potato wedges. It was delicious and we had enough for the 3 of us!!" Service was slow at times because of the crowd tonight but the food was great. We highly recommend this place - it Is where the locals eat!!

Kerri B.

Yelp
Service: 1/5 ignored for 20 minutes until I went up to a waitress and asked if we were supposed to order at the counter Food: 1/5 major disappointment. The battered fries were cold and over cooked upon arrival; so gross I couldn't eat them. Sauce: 0/5 it was watery, had weird flavor (the spicy sauce tasted like old beer that had been sitting in the sun for 3 business days) and the mild "sauce" seemed like someone added water to it Music: 4/5 - the only saving grace! Will not return. Go to Slap's instead!

Pat S.

Yelp
Backyard BBQ has great live music and is a. Fun place to go. That being said, the food is hit or a miss. Sometimes it's hot and tasty or it cold. The BBQ sauce is too runny for our liking. The service can be hit or miss also. Sometimes We get a super attentive waitress and sometimes we get a person who forgets all about our order or brings us the wrong thing. So we just go hunt her down. We like the entertainment a lot so we continue to frequent the restaurant, but we are enjoying ourselves and sometimes laugh at the screw ups. The music would get a 5 from us!

Marie X.

Yelp
Heading out of Kansas City after an overnight stay, we decided we couldn't leave without some good bbq. Checked out Yelp and came across BB's. We weren't disappointed. Patio dining was a must and this casual restaurant had that. There was good music coming through the speakers. They have live music 4 days a week, but weren't lucky enough to be there on one of those days. Anyway, there were two of us so we decided to split a BB's King Combo so we could try a variety of dishes. Good idea, if I do say so myself. We got a delicious meal of ribs, sausage, brisket, pulled pork, battered fries, and smoked pit beans. I'm not a big bean fan but really liked these small tender beans. Everything tasted good but I might skip the brisket for a different type of meat next time. Btw...we got 2 types of meat by paying 39 cents more for that option. Worth it! Large enough portion for a dinner of leftovers the next day. We took a bread pudding with hard sauce to go. Very tasty too.. The people were nice. A young server named Tez had a fun sense of humor and we enjoyed talking with him. The waitress was really nice too. I recommend trying this place out.

Nathan B.

Yelp
Decided to try BB's as we love BBQ and live music. 5 Star for atmosphere, Service and for the music. The BBQ was NOT great. The brisket was completely disappointing. It was cut sooo thin it only had one side. Dry and flavorless. It was the worst brisket I have ever eaten. My wife thought it might even be processed beef. We expect brisket to be a 1/4" thick and juicy with a nice smoke ring. The ribs were Meh. Not much smoke or meat. The sausage was a 5 Star! On point. The potato salad GREAT as were the beans. The potatoes were really good kinda of a battered potato wedge. Our waitress was awesome and the food came out very quick even with a packed house. We will go again but avoid the brisket and ribs. We will try the pulled pork.

Brian G.

Yelp
Food was awesome the service was top tier all around great atmosphere have eaten there many times sometimes I get it for there sometimes I get it to go but my order isn't ever wrong

Alessandro B.

Yelp
This Place Went above and behind my expectations I Asked a round for the best place for BBQ When I arrived in Kansas City. I'm a Person who is not in to the looks of a Restaurant or Place. I'm more the Person who Loves it when the Food is Good. Let me tell you this Food and Place is freaking Amazing I talked to my waiter and mentioned to him that I was hungry and would love to try it all and if they had a sampler plate. You know what hey they made it happen, I got a sampler plate and I could not finish it, trust me I was hungry as a wolf and the food was so delicious. Place is Clean Staff is really Friendly and going above and beyond Food is delicious And the atmosphere totally worth the drive I would give this Place 6 stars If I could IL be back for sure

Deborah H.

Yelp
I love the rib tips and especially the atmosphere. They feature great blues artist as well

John T.

Yelp
First time visiting, love to eat BBQ. Ordered my "go to" when at a new BBQ establishment....the large brisket sandwich, beans and fries. The sandwich was LARGE as advertised (the BIG 1). The meat was sliced thin (how I like it) and very flavorful and tender. Definitely one of the better brisket sandwiches out there. The beans were ok, probably 3 star, and the fries were great. It was a crowded Friday night with live music so it was packed. I did not mind sitting on the picnic tables with other people (as long as they were pleasant). I will need to give it another try to up the rating to 5 star, but overall it was a very enjoyable BBQ dinner.

Morgan B.

Yelp
I would give less than 1 star if that was an option. We arrived at BB's and the waitress was promptly at our table to get our drink orders. After being in the restaurant 1 minute, a band got up on stage and their sound was so loud and consumed the whole building, eventually we went outside to eat after about 3 minutes as my baby couldn't be in there being that loud. We decided to get fried pickles to start with as an appetizer, there we not crispy and the ranch sauce was absolutely disgusting. After seeing the appetizer and eating it we thought about leaving and just paying for the appetizer. But against our better judgment we stayed. We got our food and the burnt ends we ate were the opposite of burnt ends, they were 100% roast beef and NOT BURNT ENDS. We also tried the battered fries and they were not seasoned and coated in so much batter my throat was dry after one bite. The beans and meat were both unflavored and honestly not good. We also got jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage and it was a glorified hot dog, definitely disappointed. But even tho all the food was disgusting, we thought it was still salvageable with enough sauce, unfortunately that was an incorrect assumption. The sauce was so runny it was basically water, it tasted like expired cinnamon, the ketchup tasted vinegary, and the other sauces were just as bad. We didn't even eat more that a few bites when the waitress came out and asked us how we were to which we informed her we were way less then satisfied with our meal and did not even want to finish eating. They told us the would give us a discount. We get our receipt and they took $11 off the $60 ticket. $60!!! We paid $50 for food we took 3-4 bites of, I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Save your money and go to Chick-fil-A

Aidan C.

Yelp
Came from to KC from MN and BB's was one of the most fun experiences of my life. Amazing atmosphere and the most friendly staff ever. Live music was incredible and the food was top tier.

Henry H.

Yelp
Pretty tasty! Cool environment! The staff was very nice and attentive beer was cold.

M Z.

Yelp
AWESOME find on DDD - Food Network. food was great, burnt ends were the bomb! ordered a bunch to go to travel back home to SFLA and they were happy to pack it right. A must repeat on next visit!!!!!!

Becca B.

Yelp
Kansas City is well-known for its' BBQ! There are a TON of places to get mouthwatering BBQ dishes, but BB's is my absolute favorite spot to go. They even offer live music! I recommend starting off your dinner or lunch with their popular BBQ Nachos appetizer. When I go to BB's, I always order the BBQ Sundae: "From top to bottom this three-layered delight will satisfy any BBQ lover's craving. Hickory smoked pit beans, creamy coleslaw and succulent Pulled Pork - served in a Mason jar and topped off with sauce and a pickle spear."

sarah p.

Yelp
Hello old friend. Circa 20+ years ago I worked with a fun group of people who enjoyed getting out there. B.B.'s was in our rotation sometimes twice a week. Always a great time enjoying great food, live music & cold beer at long picnic style communal tables. There are a few booths on the perimeter and bar as well but even 20 years later I don't get here early enough for these options! it is family friendly if your kids are cool with loud music in a fine juke joint, and generally diverse crowd varying maybe according to band playing. Staff was and still is fast and down to earth friendly, no bs here. The have a deck style patio now which is great option for overflow and also for those who want to enjoy the music at a lower decibel. B.B.'s is a unpretentious & great lil venue to enjoy live music; she hasn't changed much since the....eek, the late 90's, but she's aging well.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere. Delicious bbq. We tried this because it was on DDD. It's not a fancy place, and you sit at long picnic tables near other customers, but food and service were great. We would definitely go back if in the area again.

Yelp
Music venue he night we went was phenomenal. Restaurant was packed and needed more wait staff. I felt sorry for our waitress. She was going a great job for all the customers she was responsible. I was disappointed with the baked beans. Not sweet or thick enough for my taste buds. Ordered the smoked catfish and was very disappointed. I will go back and order BBQ pork next time. Their regular bread pudding dessert would have been worth the trip all by itself. Best bread pudding I've EVER had. Was like a cinnamon roll with raisin soup. Had the doors propped open to accommodate the crowd and it was very cold inside but I understand they have heaters installed now. Great place for large parties but expect it to be loud! Got to meet and sit with Momma Ray and then hear her sing with the cover band! What a treat! Can't wait to attend one of her Saturday afternoon jams.

Yelp
Nice small legendary Kansas City BBQ joint - if you're looking as we were for a place with barbecue and blues, this is it. Family owned. Acoustic music on Sunday nights. Little bit of a road trip from downtown KC and we went right by it the first time - set back a bit from road. Enjoyed what we had and would come back.

Yelp
Delicious & in my TOP 3 BBQ spots for KC BBQ. I love KC in which I grew up. All the meats. All the sides. All good. All the time. Burnt Ends and Ribs are bomb. No complaints about any menu item.
