So this is a pretty short and easy review right now: Beachwood's been around for a while, their beer is great, and at least for right now, they're just taking some of that same beer they already made, and selling it in Bixby Knolls as well. It sounds like they're likely at least a few months away from being able to brew beer or distill anything in place here, but I do love that we're going to get another craft distillery, especially one that clearly already knows so much about brewing! Totally looking forward to seeing their take on spirits (once all the city licensing and bureaucracy is dealt with).
So anyway, for right now, this is just Beachwood's beer you already presumably know and like, now also available at a second location. Same great super-sour sours if you like that sort of thing (a subset of the complete Blendery list of the day, much like the main Beachwood restaurant in DTLB), same great IPAs (though I prefer Trademark's IPAs personally, but if you live in Long Beach and like IPAs, you probably already have a side on that one, haha), same great pastry/sweet/imperial stouts, etc, but in a more laid-back tasting room instead of also being a restaurant with waitstaff (and not being almost *all* sours, like their equally laid-back Blendery tasting room.) Though this space is also a little bigger than Blendery's, with a free shuffleboard table, and a bunch of pinball machines. Sadly the pinball machines are *not* free, but they are still priced the same as when the machines were made, which thanks to a couple different rounds of inflation since then, is starting to feel fairly reasonable!
I hear they're going to start running a pizza menu relatively soon, too! Looking forward to seeing how that works out! Love that Long Beach is slowly turning into a real craft beer city! (And even more slowly, a city with multiple craft distilleries!)
p.s. They also have AC, I feel like that's useful information at the moment.
