Until this past Saturday, I've always wondered where the young adults of Brooklyn, particularly Williamsburg, bought the eccentric items that decorate their overpriced apartments. Thrift stores? IKEA? DIY? And then I stumbled into BEAM. I've never marveled at a store before. Everything in this store (and I'm not being hyperbolic here) is amazing. From the set up of the store itself, which felt like I was invited into the most charming of apartments, to the slew of modern-meets-retro decor, furnishings, and tchotchkes, BEAM has made it a one stop shop to coolify your home and/or become the greatest gift giver your friends have ever had. We even chatted a bit with the owner, who was oh so pleasant and somehow seemed to embody the essence of the entire store. I browsed, touched, and ogled at every item in that place, and though I was tempted to just redecorate my entire house, I started off (really) small and bought the fanciest bookmark I've ever seen.
As the young kids say, this store is the bees knees. Check it out.
