Yelp
It PAINS me to write this. I *love* the atmosphere and everyone who has ever served us there.
You were my favorite vegan-friendly restaurant in NorCal (including SF).
I was at the soft opening,
I hosted my best friend's $600 b-day dinner there last week,
we rented it fully out in December for a corporate holiday party,
And I spend many so many dinners there people now give me gift certificates to it.
As a plant-based (vegan) eater also married to a "near vegan", we were *thrilled* when this gorgeous hot spot opened, promising
equal treatment to
vegan and meat eaters.
It's in their name. Beast and Bounty.
But, they've slipped. *Far*:
100% of their entrees are meat (see pic).
AND their remaining "just put some appetizers together" options are not great or consistent. (And there's no protein!)
(Rolls + Brussels + kale salad are a one-note dinner.)
Last night's "cast iron Brussels" were so hard and raw I had to send them back (a first for me in all my dining history). When they returned, they were barely okay (see pic).
Recommendations for your Spring menu:
- 50% entrees for plant-based eaters (100% of diners can eat them and I have plenty of meat-eating friends who also eat vegan when they go out).
- Cook protein-based meals for vegans *like you used to*: pizzas, stir fries, pastas, curries, fancy veg burgers...using tempeh, tofu, beans, legumes, seitan, a million delicious nut-based cheeses...
Ps. Your one vegan (the crumble) dessert is waaaay too sugary.
