Beastie Boys Square

For the Beastie Boys fans and fans of hip-hop! Very cool to see them have their own street sign up and well-deserving! I was expecting a different mural up on the side but it was changed. It was all good, I guess they will do this ever now and then to feature different artist to create their own vision of the group! Very cool!

Rick and I enjoyed Beastie Boys Square immensely! So much nightlife! We spotted the mural of the Beastie Boys at the intersection! It was the main reason we came to this area! Then we saw Pretty Ricky‘s! After cocktails and a quick bite at Pretty Ricky’s, we ventured around the lively area and felt very safe walking around! Before heading back home, we stopped at the Crêperie, and got the most delicious crêpes! It was fun to see them be creative with the crêpes! These are made to order nothing premade here!

I walked down 3rd from about 50th until I was in the beastie boys square which was on a Saturday night and tons of people were hanging out. Cars were jammed. It was loud. This makes sense… I grabbed a bike and cycled until it ran out of battery and then I pedaled for a while. Nice night. Full moon. Good food.

One of those places you turn up at, take a few pics, then leave. It's interesting cos of the beastie boys connection, but beyond that there's nothing much there - it's also not a square to be really pedantic.

For any Beastie Boys Fan, it's a must if you go to NYC, not a lot to see, mural on the wall is very well done.

Great tribute to some of New York’s finest, the Beastie Boys. In addition to the street signing dubbing the location, be sure to check out the updated mural on the corner, which debuted along with the new square’s name in September 2023.

It's the building from the cover of the iconic Beastie Boys album, Paul's Boutique. There is a memorial mural commemorating the life of MCA.
