This rustic-modern karaoke spot with private rooms serves beer, sake & soju, plus Asian bar bites.
"Starts At: $10/hour per person This Williamsburg spot offers both open, public karaoke at the bar—with microphones passed around the enthusiastic, unselfconscious crowd—and private rooms for $10 per person per hour. This may not be the most technically flawless A/V experience of your karaoke career, but it will be fun, and there will be bright-blue frozen cocktails. Beats Karaoke is a solid, charmingly chaotic option for any Northern Brooklynite who doesn't feel like taking the train into Koreatown, but does feel like belting a few selections from the extended Disney songbook with strangers." - bryan kim, neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick
"For those of us who aren’t naturally gifted singers, karaoke is an exercise in embracing chaos and imperfection. Beats Karaoke in Williamsburg affords ample opportunity to do just that. There’s public karaoke at the bar, with microphones passed around the enthusiastic, unselfconscious crowd (though that can be a little overwhelming to walk into right off the street). You can also rent a private room for $10 per person per hour ($6 on certain off-peak days and times), with a minimum reservation of two hours. In that theoretically private room, you might hear someone else’s "ba ba ba’s" to “Sweet Caroline” through the walls. There’s a chance the skip button on the remote could malfunction, erasing the entire song queue. But through an alchemy we don’t totally understand—and with the assistance of a round of bright-blue frozen cocktails—these tech issues may somehow make your experience even more fun. Ultimately, this place is everything we want in a chaotic, charmingly imperfect karaoke spot. We’d recommend it to any Northern Brooklynite who doesn’t feel like making the trip into Koreatown, but who does feel like belting a few selections from the extended Disney songbook with strangers. photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick" - Molly Fitzpatrick
"While Williamsburg residents still mourn the loss of grungy rock-centric karaoke at the now-defunct Trash Bar, the sleeker Beats has ably filled a hole in the neighborhood. The multilevel space boasts private rooms of varying size and a competitive $9 per person, per hour rate. The song list isn’t up to Sing Sing standards, but with pitchers of Sapporo, that’s easy to forget." - Paul Schrodt
