The 22 Best Restaurants In Vancouver 2024

"Beaucoup’s bakers’ world-class lamination skills draw fans from all over Vancouver (and even Seattle), who drive into town just for limited-edition creations like London fog blueberry danishes or a cheese ramen croissant. You'll find something new in the shiny pastry case every time you visit, but they’ll always have double-baked almond croissants and classic cookies in flavors like Valrhona chocolate chip and dark chocolate rosemary. The bakery's original location is in Kitsilano, but a newer location under a candy-striped awning at Vancouver's historic St. Regis Hotel has a more European ambiance, with marble counters where you can stand as you sip your latte and devour your treats." - carolyn b heller, amber gibson

"GO HERE: for some of the finest baked goods in the city. Pastry chef Betty Hung weaves Asian influences into her pastries at Beaucoup (milk tea croissants!), and they’re phenomenal. ORDER THE: extraordinary kouign-amann, salted chocolate rosemary cookie, peanut butter sandwich cookie, yuzu lemon tart, and a scone sandwich for lunch. THE VIBE IS: sunny and upscale, frequented by elegant Kitsilano residents. PRACTICAL STUFF: Open Tuesday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s nice to eat inside, but tables in the small bakery can be hard to come by, so consider getting your treats to go. —Lindsay Anderson" - Condé Nast

Google
The best double baked almond croissant I’ve ever had in metro Van! I’ve been searching (and searching) but finally found the perfect croissant in terms of flakiness, buttery layers and delicious filling that isn’t too dense or oily. We’ve gotten these several times and while the appearance isn’t always uniform, the taste is consistently good.

Google
The atmosphere is very European. The latte was full if flavour as were the pastries. The only thing missing is Gluten free options to go with the latte

Google
i came here to try their matcha black sesame melon pan for the cherry blossom festival, and it was absolutely incredible. it wasn’t very sweet at all, but there were really nice and subtle matcha flavour, paired with the creamy, sweet, and a tad salty sesame filling. i loved how CRUNCHY the top was, but one complaint is that the pastry itself wasn’t very soft at all — it was a bit chewy and tough, and not very fresh. they did run out very fast though, so make sure you come earlyyyy if you want to try out the popular festival items.

Google
Coffee and pastries excellent! I just have to say that one of the sweets was frozen but we weren’t sure if was supposed to be like that. Service, place and food was great! More pics and places in my IG: @mydearfoodjournal 🙌🏻

Google
Coffee was great, not better like starbucks. I had all 3 scrolls, and they were delicious. Deducted 1 star because the pepperoni scroll I ate in the store was not heated properly. Only outside crust was lukewarm, and the middle portion was cold. Good selection of cake and treats and pastry. Pretty neat decorations in the coffee shop. Tables were all packed with customers, which is a sign of good food and beverage. Overall I would come back again and staff all greet you with a smile.

Google
Tried the pistachio and almond croissants at Beaucoup Bakery and Café ٫ so good! Flaky, flavorful, and the coffee was great too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a good croissant in Vancouver.

Google
Went there at about 2 pm for cherry blossom special croissant but it was sold out that day, mocha was rich and strong! But I have to say the scrolls could be better

Beaucoup Bakery and Cafe is another hidden gem in Vancouver! Their pastry selection is incredible, with a wide variety of delicious options to satisfy any craving. Each pastry is beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor—perfect for a quick treat or a leisurely breakfast. The taste is always outstanding, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a lovely spot to relax. The staff is incredibly friendly, adding to the overall welcoming vibe. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

Yelp
Oh my GOSH the food here is AMAZING. I got the Pepperoni Scroll and mom got the Ham and Cheese Scroll. First off, these are *very* big and I felt like it matched the price point just fine. But they tasted so good!! The croissant style roll was incredibly soft and had that delicious buttery flavor mingling with the cheese and pepperoni and red pepper flakes. I devoured mine so fast. Mom loved hers as well. This was our first time here but we'll definitely be back, maybe to get the same thing and maybe try some other stuff as well :) Also I'm not sure what it would do to the texture but heating one of these up in the microwave for a few seconds would probably taste amazing too. Super fresh and super delicious. 10/10 highly recommend.

Yelp
3.5 stars I had. Pistachio raspberry cake $9.95 Thai tea banana cake $9.95 Iced Latte The cakes were beautiful, looked delish and had right amount of sweetness. However, I got faint almost not there Thai Tea aroma and taste of banana. The pistachio cake was ok and not much taste of pistachio. Overall the cakes were disappointed. The ice latte was very good and rich.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a pistachio cake, a thai tea banana cake, and a glass of latte. The thai tea cake lack or aroma. (2 out of 5). I could not tell that it was made with thai tea and banana. The coffee latte is good. (5 out of 5) Street parking. I parked on the next black up the street which is a metered parking. Walking less than 100 ft to the store and the street in front of the store is free parking. Just FYI. The service is fast and professional. There are a few small tables for seating. Free WiFi.

Yelp
The OG location, why did it take me so long to write a review? Everytime I come to this location, the one challenge is finding parking, but if you have enough will to say..... you are going to come here, you will eventually find it, and there is a few spots on the block. Once you are in, and usually there is another line up.... to order your stuff, this isn't a regular coffee joint with a few pastries, this is Beaucoup where any pastry you order will probably put you back into that lineup... to order more for any friend/loved one.. if you care.. or for yourself for later. I have seen in firsthand with people I bring here, even ordering things that they wouldn't normally order... caused they looked good in the display window.... and tasted better when eating the delectible delight. There are a few inside seats here, in a charming little shop, with bright walls, a high ceiling, and a big coffee bar at the centre of the spot. The coffee beans of choice in this place is 49th Parrallel.. and they do know how to make this coffee go down smooth. There is also seating outside the shop, in an interesting spot a few blocks away from Broadway and West 2nd, kind of nowhere, and now somewhere, as everyone knows Beaucoup and will come here for their needs. Speaking of go-to's, there is the Chausson Aux Pommes, and this delightful apple pastry is worth the price of admission. Another item... is the peanut butter buttercream dream, it looks like a cookie sandwich, just trust it... and order it. Occasionally they will do collaborations and also seasonal specials, and if you see lineups... well there is a 'cult' following for these pastries, if you wonder why, don't go on a release date item, go before and understand why, and also they have been around a long time.... and the hard work and keeping all the pastries at their highest level speak volumes, even to this day. No need to look for an excuse if you have never been, and if you haven't been in awhile.. well don't worry what you loved before is still there.

Yelp
Ambiance and Decor: Beaucoup Bakery and Cafe boasts a clean, inviting atmosphere. The glass display case, brimming with fresh pastries, is meticulously organized, showcasing their offerings in a neat and enticing manner. The polished concrete floors gleamed under the Vancouver sunlight, adding a touch of warmth to the space. The centre display table, laden with take-home items and other sweet treats, further enhances the bakery's charming and cozy vibe. Service Quality: During my visit, I was assisted by a new staff member who was both kind and knowledgeable about Beaucoup's offerings. Despite needing a bit of help with my order, the entire process was swift and efficient. I have no doubt that with time, this individual will become a valuable member of the team, contributing to the already high standard of service. Menu Variety: Beaucoup Bakery and Cafe offers an impressive array of pastries, from small cakes and cookies to an assortment of French-inspired treats. On this occasion, I purchased a cookie for my co-worker and a cookie-croissant, a trendy item. While I didn't order any drinks this time, my past experiences assure me that their beverage offerings are top-notch, perfectly complementing their delicious pastries. Food Taste and Quality: The cookie-croissant I ordered, however, did not showcase the bakery's usual culinary prowess. The ends were hard, and the overall texture was tough and chewy, possibly due to being double-baked. This was a rare miss, as I have previously enjoyed many of their croissants, which have always been delightful. Unfortunately, today's purchase didn't meet the high standards I've come to expect from Beaucoup. Price and Value: Beaucoup's pastries are slightly on the pricier side, but they are well worth it for special occasions. The cookie, priced around $3-4, offered great value due to its large size. Despite the premium pricing, the quality and taste typically justify the cost, making it a worthwhile indulgence. Overall Experience and Recommendation: Although my most recent visit didn't fully meet my expectations, I remain a loyal patron of Beaucoup Bakery and Cafe. Their pastries are usually exceptional, and I will continue to stop by whenever I'm in the area. I recommend asking for a freshly baked pastry to ensure the best experience. Despite this minor hiccup, Beaucoup remains a go-to spot for delightful treats, and I look forward to my next visit with more careful selection.

Yelp
I used to looooove Beacoup bakery. it was one of the most iconic spots for a delicious baked good. I'm not sure what happened but i do feel it's gone downhill over the years. I've gone here a few times recently and have been SO disappointed. The coffee tastes burnt in my opinion and today, i ordered an iced latte (regular milk, no sugar, nothing special) and it was $6.88! CRIMINAL. I wanted to add vanilla but that was gunna run me $7.88 for ONE coffee?! I get it -times are tough but $8 for milk and espresso?! cmon! My other problem is the staff. i came around 3pm today and nobody welcomed us in, the one cashier was sweeping in the lineup and said "can u go the other way?" like girl... the customer comes first. if you don't want us here, then lock the cafe. And also when i asked "ohhh actually, i don't need the vanilla in my coffee" cuz it was an extra $1, she basically rolled her eyes. I get it, we all have our bad days but don't work a customer service job if you can't provide a nice experience. I've worked 10 years in fast food and always tried to provide a good experience. Sorry, rant over! haha All in all, they do have some really winning pastries. Some of my faves include the croissants, peanut butter cookie sandidch and the kouign iman (i am totally butchering the spelling) The vibe in here is cute but i do wish they had more seating. They have a side patio which is nice in the summer.

Yelp
I always enjoy trying seasonal specials, and Beaucoup Bakery offers several enticing options such as cherry blossom or Easter-themed treats. What I got was the Hanami Set, which included Iced Houjicha with sea salt foam and Dorayaki. The Houjicha was alright, but the sea salt foam was creamy and I enjoyed the touch of sea salt. However, the standout was the Dorayaki. I could taste a hint of salt in the sweet cream filling, which made it very delicious. The Cheese Ramen croissant was a unique item indeed. While the croissant dough was very crispy, I found the combination of ramen, cheese, and corn to be interesting. However, overall, this item was just okay for me. The Egg-cellent Cookie Croissant was truly excellent! I loved the chocolate chip cookie filling and the addition of cookie dough on top of the croissant. The Easter egg chocolate was a cute touch as well. I really enjoyed this item! Getting a hot cross bun from Beaucoup Bakery has become a yearly routine for me. Their hot cross buns are truly some of the best in town. The butter brioche bun is always fluffy, moist, and I love the spice flavor. I highly recommend trying it! The Ichigo Matcha Opera Cake was just okay for me. The sponge was a bit dry, and while the matcha ganache was fine, I'm not sure if I would get it again. I've visited this bakery many times, and some of their baking goods have never disappointed me. I'm looking forward to enjoying their seasonal specials again.

Yelp
I came here during the hot chocolate fest and got the "Baby Yoda," which was a white chocolate matcha drink. It also came with a small Star Wars-themed cake. The drink overall was just okay. The matcha flavour didn't shine as much as I wanted to and the white chocolate just made it feel like you're drinking a matcha latte. The cake was pretty good -- I liked the texture for my soft mouth and that it wasn't very sweet. Matcha flavour was okay. Service was really quick. But they don't ask anyone's names and so when everyone was ordering the Baby Yoda.. it was confusing. There are only three tables inside and a narrow bar for standing, which is unfortunate. They use a lot of the café's real estate to sell other products.

Yelp
Having tried over 30+ croissant places in Vancouver, I can say that Beaucoup Bakery is my favourite one in this city. The croissants here are always so flakey to the point of being crispy, which I personally prefer. Almost the perfect balance of filling, sweetness level, and butteriness for me. Out of everything I've tried, the pistachio ($6.5) and almond ($6.5) croissant were two of my favourite. The fillings are very rich and nutty, with still a little bit of texture left instead of a smooth paste. Interior was very chic and European inspired, quite elegant and feminine. A few seats are available but not really that comfortable. Service was professional and fast. Coffee was decent, but the highlights are definitely their pastries.

Yelp
Great bakery with delicious options, their croissants are amazing, nice and flakey and they got some really creative and yummy cake options too. We also loved the ease of finding a parking spot and that they have nice outdoor seating for sunny days.

Yelp
Beaucoup Bakery makes the wonderfully delicious pastry. The team members are so friendly and very helpful. We ordered Vanilla Latte, Hawaii Scone, Onion Bacon Scroll, Pepperoni Scroll, Ham and Cheese Scroll, Almond Double Baked Croissant, and Chocolate Almond Double Baked Croissant. They are super yummy. We definitely will go back again!!

Yelp
Matchalicious delight. I picked up a Baby Yoda hot chocolate ($10.95) for my post workout rainy day walk. The Valrhona Dulcey Blonde chocolate paired perfectly with the Shizuoka ceremonial grade matcha. The drink was chocolatey smooth with deep rich matcha flavour, and as full-bodied as I've ever come across (non European style). This was by far the best hot chocolate I've had as a part of the festival. The Star Wars matcha biscuit was dense and fun. I lost my mini kitkat in the drink but that was fine. I do wish the hot chocolate was much hotter though 5/5. I also picked up a chocolate chip cookie which was much too sweet for my preference. 3/5

Yelp
I've heard this bakery so often and finally decided to try their items. I went on Monday morning so it wasn't crowded. Their location is kinda secluded just off the Granville Island. - almond croissant: flaky croissant but I think it was over baked a little bit since the outside was super crispy. The almond filling was good and tasty - ham & cheese scroll: good savory pastry. It had lots of cheese and it had good flakey texture. - raspberry brioche: very dry & flaky not fluffy like brioche. The raspberry cream was good and not too sweet - london fog: very weak tea taste & too much milk. Overall, it has good pastries selection but the quality was kinda average (3.5 stars).

Yelp
A cute bakery on Fir and 6th. Bought pistachio croissant. Love it. Croissant is flaky and the filling is not too sweet. Just the way I like it

Yelp
Beaucoup is my favourite French fusion bakery in Vancouver. I love their blend of French-Japanese pastries and their rotation of seasonal treats. Ive been coming here probably ever since they opened and always recommend it to friends from out of town. I also love their commitment to random acts of kindness and they have a chalkboard around the corner where you can write your greatest achievement this year. They have a few tables along the side. There usually tends to be a line up and the atmosphere is busy but it usually goes pretty quickly. All in all, definitely recommend if you're in the neighbourhood or stopping by Granville Island. Its just a stone's throw away, or maybe a couple more than that.

Yelp
After many days of rain, it was a sunny day and I came to this bakery cafe for lunch. From the front door to the interior it gave me a comfy and bright feeling. There were plenty of choices of bread la and I spotted their bacon and onion roll looked good so I ordered it with a medium size latte. The roll tasted good and it's size is big. They didn't serve the cutlery so I assumed I had to hold it with my hand. The taste of bacon and onion was rich... while I was enjoying it, a large portion of it suddenly broke and dropped onto the floor. Really unexpected. A staff member saw it and she asked me which bread did I got and she gave me a new one. I didn't take it for granted though many cafes may offer the same to their customers, I really appreciated her attentiveness and care to the customer. It is also worth mentioning the latte tasted good. Unlike some cozy cafes that serve bitter taste and herbal medicine like coffee with unpleasant after taste. While I was sitting there I observed the staff member checked the hygiene of the toilet frequently. In terms of food quality and service, I am happy to give them a 5-star. I am sure I will visit them again when I am around that area. Merci Beaucoup!

Yelp
Made a visit over the weekend for the Hot Chocolate Festival - The pastry displays were mouth watering for sure - there was several things I would love to try , maybe in the future - The Cafe has very limited seating in a tight space - the hand off space to retrieve your goods is also quite tight - personally not a huge fan of the layout and design of the space , but they make do with what they have so will need to give them that much - Anyhow, back to the hot chocolate combination - the tart that was their play on Hong Kongs egg tart was a miss for me - most definitely prefer having it baked as a whole verses having a cream custard - it was way too sweet for my liking , but if you have a sweet tooth , this might do the trick - The drink - that was their play on Hong Kongs Yinyang milk tea mixed with chocolate - was also a miss for me - again way too sweet , and personally did not even get a hint of the flavor of a yinyang drink - the chocolate was way too prominent - I'm not sure if I was trying too hard to compare the pairing with the traditional - but if I judged without thinking what I expected it too taste like , then my feedback would still stand at way too sweet! - I think maybe half sweet would hit the spot - 3 stars for spacing (Not their fault) and the subpar hot chocolate fest experience - However I will try to find a chance to revisit and have some of their other offerings , and maybe try a coffee :) https://www.instagram.com/vanleo.eatsfood1015/

Yelp
They opened up the one by St Regis, and it is as good as the original one. The problem is you just can't stop going there everyday.
google avatar

Yelp
Checked out @beaucoupbakery again for their beautiful and delicious Baby Yoda hot chocolate. Absolutely loved their theme this year. The biscuit was flavourful and not too sweet. Wish the hot chocolate was a little hotter though. Our KitKat was quite intact by the time we were done with our drink.

Yelp
Cute little cafe with original pastries & cookies. Their mocha was delicious and they had very friendly customer service. I enjoyed their Peanut Butter cookie which looked kind of like a ice cream sandwich, but with a peanut butter cream inside instead of ice cream. I also had their giant wheel ham & cheese pastry and their mini almond croissant. Everything was delicious! Only prevention for a five star was little space to sit to enjoy and that at there wasn't too many options when we came to order, but, we will be back again next visit.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and pastries! I had the citrus scroll and it was delicious - soft but also crunchy and perfectly flavoured. Be aware this is a small storefront and it gets very busy - be prepared to wait!
google avatar

Yelp
Really good coffee and croissants, not a ton of options in this neighbourhood but this place still stands out. Ambiance is good despite being tiny and not having much seating room. Hours could be a bit longer is my only complaint.
google avatar

Yelp
If you love Parisian hot chocolate, Beacoup Bakery is definitely the right place to go to! This cute cafe in Downtown is Beaucoup Bakery's second location. I had their "Smooth Like Butter" hot chocolate once during the chocolate festival and I'm super hyped to finally trying their Parisian hot chocolate. The presentation of the chocolate set looks classy, it comes with hot milk and whipping cream. The hot chocolate itself is extremely thick and rich, you can add milk and whipping cream according to your preference. As much as I enjoyed the hot chocolate, I do think it was a bit too sweet for my taste. The set also includes a pastry of your choice abs I chose the raspberry brioche (CAD $5.25). I really like tartness of the raspberry filling unfortunately the pastry it's a bit stale, it feels like it has been sitting out for a bit. Overall I think everything here is ok, but I would recommend sharing the hot chocolate, just because the richness of the hot chocolate could be a be filling!

Yelp
It's been years since I visited Vancouver and the only place I recommend to friends and my places to eat is really Beaucoup. I really miss their croissants. Server isn't friendly and indoor seating isn't comfortable or place to chat. Outdoor seating is better but it's too cold during winter. Coffee is alright, probably this is Robusta. When I had this Pistachio croissant, for a sec, I felt I'm having baklava I love the crunch of the croissant itself and don't think it's worth because I don't taste much on pistachio but more into paste, as in no smell if u know what I mean.
google avatar

Elaine L.

Yelp
The pastries and drinks here are always top notch! Got the Almond Croissant ($5.95), Kougin Amann ($3.95), apple pie bun ($4.25), and a medium mocha. Everything was super fresh and tasty! The mocha also was perfectly sweetened and paired great with the pastries. It can get super busy in the afternoon so I'd recommend you guys go early!
google avatar

Dino G.

Yelp
The value is just not there - for pastries, you have every other place in the city that'll offer you a larger item for the same amount spent

Gg T.

Yelp
Excellent baking! These people really care about quality and freshness! The apple pie bun is so delicious!!

Yelp
Stumbled across Beaucoup when researching my trip to Vancouver and I'm happy I got a chance to go. Line was out the door when my group got there but moved pretty quickly. We got the Almond Croissant, Kouign Amann, Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie. The croissant and Kouign Amann were flaky and buttery and not overly sweet. The peanut butter cookie was a bit heavy but still delicious. Was hoping they had the cruffin but unfortunately they didn't. I've recommended visiting to other friends and will definitely be back once I'm in Vancouver again.

Yelp
I ordered a chocolate croissant and an iced americano and was given an apple chausson instead. Coffee was great, although the compostable cup was a little flimsy to the point of almost spilling my drink. The outside seating area was full, so I found a spot on a bench across the street. It wasn't until I was settled in my spot that I noticed their error, it was ok but let's just say the apple chausson is no pain au chocolat! I wasn't given a napkin and the pastry oozed brown paste and got on my hands. On my way back to my bike I ask if I could use the sink to rinse my sticky hands and was told rather rudely and shrilly that there were wet naps outside. It was again ok but didn't appreciate the attitude.

Yelp
We were in the neighbourhood and wanted to get some baked goods to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon tea time. We picked up a variety of options: Tropical scone 5/5: this was one I was most curious about. A combination of coconut, candied pineapple and macadamia nuts-- it's Hawaii in scone form. This was delicious. Buttery, soft on the inside, a bit crunchy on the outside. This was a huge hit for everyone Yuzu lemon tart 4/5: this was tangy and well balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. The base was more like a cookie Mini Chocolate croissant 3.5/5: a bit crunchy on the outside with a buttery base inside and chocolate accompanying every bite. I'm usually a bigger fan of just a savoury or classic croissant but I was intrigued by the size of these petite treats. Great for an afternoon pick me up Chocolate chip cookie 3.5/5: for the soft cookie enthusiasts, this is perfect for you after a little warm up in the oven. This was slightly too sweet for me as it had huge chocolate chip chunks in combination with the cookie base already.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here again for some treats and decided to get an apple turnover and a bacon/cheese/onion scroll. We were a little it disappointed with the turnover as we wished there was apple chunks however the scroll (?) was quite delicious!

Yelp
High end hot chocolate, or definitely the most expensive one we ever tried. Come Thai with Me was definitely interesting and the flavour profile was in harmony. Tea brewed very well with distinct aromatic spices and just the right amount of milkiness. Beautifully presented garnishes and also very good tasting. Good snap from the golden cloud nest and great white chocolate flavours all around. Quite an unique tasting experience because the white chocolate flavours come through better when the drink is cooler. While hot, the tea flavour profile dominates, kind of like red vs white wines.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
It's delicious albeit on the higher price point. Both savoury and sweet pastries and some other odds and ends like Japanese specialty grocery. Love the scrolls, petit pain au chocolat, great scones
google avatar

Jose D.

Yelp
They frequently run out of croissants. I wonder why. Airy and clean but gets easily crowded when there's like five or six people inside due to its narrow layout. They offer great buttery French style pastries and you can get a recipe book if you'd like to try your hand at making what they offer.

Yelp
It was Hot Chocolate Festival 2022 and we made our way here after eating lunch in the area. At $11.95, this is the most I have ever paid for a cup of hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was presented nicely. The homemade strawberry pocky stick was good. It tasted like a shortbread cookie dipped in strawberry icing. It was the gourmet version of the classic pocky. The hot chocolate itself was a lightly sweetened strawberry rose flavour. The rose was very subtle. The whip cream and cornflakes added a nice texture to the hot chocolate. The cornflakes did get soggy after awhile and soaked up the hot chocolate goodness. I do not think most people can afford to spend $12 on any beverage daily. However, I did really enjoy the experience and think it was worth trying something like this once in awhile. There is no seating inside the bakery. You can enjoy your drink outside with the limited seating available or walk across the street where there are some benches and a playground.

A nice modern cafe in the less expected area. There isn't a lot of room to sit so it may be best to grab takeout. There are 3 two person table near the washroom. There are two small round tables by where you order so it is squishy by that area. The croissant is super flaky and delicious. We got the chocolate one and also got the almond croissant. The staff are friendly, place is clean and bright. Definitely grab something and go for a stroll.

Yelp
YESSSSS! Made the mistake of devouring the croissant in the car. FLAKES EVERYWHERE. That being said, this was one of the best almond croissants ever. Yum!

Yelp
I had PLANT-y of time to pick up Beaucoup Bakery's box of new plantbased collection of pastries and chocolates . I enjoyed trying all of these a CHOCO-LOT! I'm not sure if there was butter in them, but the quality is still MARGARIN-ally satisfying. Plant based pastries are a great way of maintaining a healthy diet since it's a PIECE of CAKE!

Yelp
Their Chocolate Hazelnut Rice Pudding Chou blew me away. It was a culinary masterpiece. I've had the best chou in Geneva, but this place was a close second, almost becoming my favorite cream puff place. The Chou itself was great - crisp outside and super soft and fluffy inside. There was a salted caramel filling and a rice pudding filling occupying they inside. They both helped balance each other out. The salted caramel filling was definitely a SALTED caramel (it was pretty salty lol) and very flow so ya gotta lick it up fast! And the rice pudding didn't have much flavor but it helped cut the rich flavor of the caramel, and gave it a really nice texture. The chocolate cream on top was also perfectly rich, and I love that they had pieces of candied hazelnuts on top. I also got the Churro Morning Bun, which was filled with a vanilla custard. I didn't care for the cinnamon sticks on top, but everything else was delicious! It wasn't as overpoweringly sweet as I thought it would be judging from its appearance, which was nice (considering I ate four pastries in one day HAHA) We also tried their regular croissant, which was really good and flaky (So. many. air pockets. so much butter. so much deliciousness) with so many layers.

Yelp
For the baked goods aficionados out there - you must visit this spot. Very well known for their famous DOUBLE baked almond croissants, they do sell out quick & early! There weren't any available on this visit, but I can vouch that they are amazing. I assumed they would be heavy (due to the baking process) but instead of weight, the taste is more amplified This day I had a coconut milk latte & snagged a large peanut butter cream sandwich to go. Wow, that pb cookie is deadly good ~ its the best peanut butter cream I EVER had! Limited seating, minimalist clean interior, friendly staff

Yelp
If they had more indoor seating this place would be my regular cafe. It's in a great location with good products. The pastry displays will make your mouth water if you enjoy rich French pastry. The croissants are tres bon. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is very limited indoor seating .

Yelp
So this place is the cutest cafe. Just strolling through the area for a meeting with one of my co-workers and I definitely would recommend this hidden gem. The service is warm, friendly and very welcoming! The best joint for baked goods and a sweet cup of tea or coffee. Like what a cooler hip place to be to have a quick snack and have a nice meeting. If you haven't visited yet and you're a local or on your way to granville island market come this way first and get your quality croissant and baked good and cup of tea!

Yelp
I tried their Peking duck croissant and it reminds me of a lean cha siu bao. The flavor is great but it didn't reminds me of the Peking duck that we eat at the restaurant. I love the sweet top layer and the flakiness of the croissant. There is a generous portion of filling. I look forward to trying their other croissant and pastries!

Yelp
I love the pastries here; but unable to call them. I tried using the UBER eats app and they seemed to have an error every time. Some days, they have buy 1 get 1 free and app doesn't work. No one also picks up the phone if you wanted to place an order. good food but bad customer service. And when you go and visit, they don't take cash, which is fine, It would be helpful to learn to explain to your customers about the Points that you can accumulate if someone is buying a dozen of pastries. The ladies manning the till are NOT helpful in marketing what they sell.

Yelp
First time at Beaucoup because of the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival. It was a pricy combo. I don't mind paying more for quality and because of the pandemic but I was a bit disappointed. The hot chocolate was essentially diluted strawberry milk. The strawberry flavour wasn't even that pronounce. I didn't taste a hint of rose. Not to mention no real chocolate -y flavour. The redeeming quality of this combo was the homemade pocky - it was delicious. I wish they would sell a box of it. However that being said, I think I would come back and try their pastries because the cookie was just so good!

Yelp
Apparently if you're into baked goods, you need to be an early bird too. I'm not an early bird so I came after lunch, and even on a weekday, a bunch of their baked goods were out! (This happens at other popular bakeries too..) So I didn't get to try their infamous baked Almond Croissants. Instead, I got their Yuzu Lemon Tart to go along with their Hot Chocolate Festival 2019 offering of hazelnut rosemary milk chocolate ("Hazel and Marie"). The Yuzu Lemon Tart was soooooo yummy. I'm a fan of the shortbread cookie crust that held the custard; it was done perfectly with the right taste and texture. The yuzu lemon filling had the right bouncy density and the right sweet and tart taste. I'd definitely come back for this. Next time I'd hopefully be able to try their Almond Croissant and their Kouign Amann. *Specific to their 2019 Hot Chocolate Festival drink - The hot chocolate was huge but I was disappointed in the flavor as it didn't have a strong chocolate taste and I wasn't a fan of the rosemary in it. The hazelnut macaron it came with had a chewier/stickier texture than I prefer and I can't remember the taste now, but probably won't be getting their macarons in the future. For those with wheelchairs or strollers (like me), note that the entrance is very narrow and with stairs. If my friend wasn't there to help me lift the stroller and navigate the tight entrance, I wouldn't be able to try them out. Another mom actually left their baby in stroller outside so she could quickly run in to pickup some baked goods! So note to self, ergo the baby next time...

Yelp
Beaucoup Bakery is an awesome quaint place to get pastries and coffee. I love that they sell cookbooks, candles, artisan chocolates, jams, and other items in addition to their fresh and delicious viennoisseries and cookies. My sister had been raving about their oat milk latte and almond croissants, and they did not disappoint! The iced oat latte was creamy and smooth, and not too sweet despite the pump of caramel syrup in it. The almond croissant (a must try!) was delicious with a generous amount of almond paste in it. They had a selection of savoury scrolls and kouign amanns, including a seasonal cardamom kouign amann which I can't wait to try. The bakery itself is small but there is seating outside.

Yelp
Have you ever had a pastry that changed your life? I have, and it was from Beaucoup Bakery & Cafe. My wife and I were driving to a park and by chance drove past this place. There was a line of people queuing in front, so I asked her to look it up online. Sure enough it had good reviews and the food photos were drool-worthy. So the next morning we found an excuse to be in the same neighborhood. We chose a few pastries - and the one I'd been lusting after soon found its way to my mouth. It was a ham and cheese pastry (I think they call it a 'round'?) but quite unlike any ham and cheese pastry I'd ever tasted. There was a heavenly blend of exotic spices throughout and it was slightly sweet. As I worked toward the center of the round, it became soft and slightly cheesy, but not in a bad way. Meanwhile my wife was tearing into her plain butter croissant. She graciously offered me a bite but I declined, for two reasons. First, I could tell just from the sound it made when she bit into it that it'd be top notch. Also, if I sampled her croissant then she'd expect me to reciprocate with my ham and cheese round. Pro tip - if you're eating these pastries in your car be prepared for lots of crumbs and flakes everywhere. But that's a small price to pay to tasting greatness. My only possible complaint - the heavy glass and metal entry door opens in. So if you're carrying food or drinks in both hands that's a bit challenging.
