Ye Tang

"The owner learned to make cendol in Malacca, and his rice flour jelly worms – made on the spot – are softer than most. On top of the classic cendol shaved ice, add red kidney beans, palm seeds, corn kernels or durian." - Michelin Inspector

Beehoon and ngoh hiang so-so, serving size wasn't that great, damage for the lunch was sgd 11.10 On the other hand, the coffee ice we had was good. No coffee sour taste, I think might be due to the amount of milk added. Damage for 1 standard size coffee-ice and 1 can jiajia herbal tea is sgd 3.00.

26/August/2025 Had Bubur Pulut Hitam ($2.20) for dessert, was good. The food centre was located on the top floor of the mall, alfresco dining area was airy with reasonably numbers of tables/chairs.

One of the oldest private owned food centre in Sg. Flooring same as old as 4 decades since I was here with my parents as a kid, secondary and ngee ann student. Very old and nostalgic food centre ran by many original old owners as well as many new food choices and Korean restaurants. The old hawkers are still serving with a smile and motivated to give their best. Spoilt for choice. 100% worth a visit. Many still maintain the original old school taste. A real piece of singapore food heritage and history. However its really rugged and pretty dirty like the olden days with all the mosaic floorings. A lot of stores but not enough tables and seatings. This place need a upgrade.

Gentle reminder to friends who are thinking of trying the Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle Rice (#04-48) during lunch time. Reason being that this stall has a Hidden Queue. This afternoon 27th Oct, around 12pm. I went to level 4 to have lunch. Most of the stalls are having long queue. I finally decided to order 鸡丝河粉 from this stall as there is no queue and one senior Infront of me was collecting his meal. I was told that my number was 44 and asked to come back later. I told the young lady I will just wait at the stall thinking that I would be served shortly. She insisted I come back later. I was puzzled. Shortly a senior lady came forward to ask whether her meal was ready. Her number was 41. I then asked the lady what number was she preparing now. She replied 34. I asked her how long should I wait. She told me more than 10 min. Again asked me come back later. I actually was in the hurry and that was why I patronised her stall which has no queue at that moment. I calculated that I might have to wait for at least 15 to 20 minutes as there were 10 people in front of me. I told the young lady that I would like to cancel my order and requested a refund. She told me that there were no refund as I paid by Paylah. Again Insisted I come back later. I told her I really running out of time. At this moment, her mother , the chef , joining in the conversation and shouted at me that you just have to wait. I told her that I am running out of time. In fact I wanted to tell them the reason I visited them was I thought there was no queue. But looking at the situation, I think there is no point to say anymore. So I told them, I would cancel my order and donate the $5 to them since they could not make the refund. (Tonight during dinner time, my husband told me that they can actually make the refund as they should have my number and asked me to check). Unfortunately, there is no sign of the money being refunded. I am writing this feedback is not because of the money, as I already told them is the donation to them. The purpose of the review is to alert others who are having the same situation like me to check with the stall owner as how long they will be served in order to avoid unhappiness. To the stall owner, I hope in future, if their business is so good that people need to wait for at least 6 people in front of them, they should have a basic courtesy to tell the customer about the queue so that the customer has an alternative. This should be a win win situation.

Open-air Hawker Centre at Level 4. This is our to-go food place after a hike at Rifle Range Nature Park which is connected by an overhead bridge at the same level. If you are willing to wait, you can consider this popular stall, TOP 1 Home Made Noodles, which we tried at our last visit. We waited for about 15-30mins for our food. My kids usually go for the Japanese Food beside this stall. Today, we tried something different - 云吞面/鸡扒面。

Yelp
This food court located just of Bukit Timah road in Beauty World has some great offerings. I used to frequent here having lived in the area for a good 2 years. The western stall here offers truly delicious Asian made western food such as steak, chicken chops, and pork chops. You won't spend more than 10 dollars at this store. Around the corner is an Authentic Thai stall serving you great Thai varieties from the Phad Thai to green curry and fried rice. KMW Snack Cafe also has some yummy offerings. The roti prata store is especially yummy, the service is great too! Located on the top floor you will feel a slight breeze and also features a decent view of bukit timah. The cleanliness is mediocre, but what can you expect from a food court. You will also find pastry stores here selling you all types of freshly baked pastry.
