Beavertown Brewery & Taproom Review - Tottenham - London - The Infatuation

"There was a time when knowledge of Beavertown’s psychedelic cans and their fruity pale ales was limited to the bearded and the citra-heads. That time is no more. The mega-popular Tottenham brewery can be found in more London pubs than not these days—“a pint of Neck Oil, ta” has very much entered popular vocabulary. Their weekend-only taproom is also a very popular hangout spot. There’s a large amount of outdoor seating, pulling all their regulars as well limited-edition hazy pale ales, raspberry sour, and more. Just take note of Spurs home match days when it’ll likely be packed with white shirts most likely drowning their sorrows. " - Jake Missing

Beyond Brewdog: The Best Craft Beer in London at Pubs and Taprooms - Eater London

"One of London’s favourite craft breweries is, at the weekend, also one of London’s busiest. Possibly because the tap room’s only open six hours a week, and as well as being the cheapest venue to find a pint of Neck Oil, Gamma Ray or Lupuloid, is the best place to drink Beavertown one-offs and seasonals, such as their DIPA collaboration with Lervig, at £2.50 a half." - Hugh Thomas

Love the beers, super fresh. Even better that we got a free beer just for bringing the dog 🥰. All the seating is outdoors although there’s a covered area available. Got some chilli from the food pop up- was a welcome addition, something filling yet fresh as opposed to a greasy burger place. Will definitely be back (weather & government dependent!)

I came here with a friend who's really into her beers and ales. As someone who doesn't really drink beer, I really enjoyed my beer at Beavertown. There's a variety of beers to suit everyone, there's a great atmosphere and there's a small stall serving food. However it does get busy very quickly. The only downfall is that there is no shelter and we had to sit outside with our umbrellas up. I'd imagine this place would be absolutely lovely in summer. Would definitely visit again.

Google
This local brewery is incredibly popular among Londoners and it holds an extensive choice of beers which are brewed at the same place. It also has an indoor space for drinking among the brewing tanks of beer, and an outside beer garden which gets packed almost every day! There's also a food stall which changes every now and then. Overall, an amazing atmosphere!

Loved this place first time here although I have followed Beaverton's growth with interest since I first tried there beer at Dukes Brew and BBQ. Attention to detail in every aspect, given a warm welcome and a guided tour, good luck guys

Google
Cool Place for a great beer. There are lots of selections from the taproom and some really delicious beers. You pay £2.50 as a glass deposit and £2.50 per half pint. So its not cheap, but the atmosphere is really chilled and its interesting to see the brewery.

Yelp
We needed a beer after walking to the top of Tottenham Stadium with the Dare skywalk, and this place was right across the street from the stadium. I can only imagine the amazing atmosphere here during a game. I ordered the Bones lager and hubby got Neck oil. We enjoyed both on their patio behind the building. Neck oil was on tap in many pubs we visited, so it's obviously a very popular beer in London. I like all the colorful art in the taproom and on their glasses as well!

Yelp
Beavertown Brewery deserves a solid four-star rating for delivering a really fun and enjoyable experience. The brewery offers a lively and engaging atmosphere, creating an environment that adds to the overall appeal of the visit. The standout feature is the super spicy wings, which provide a flavorful and adventurous twist to the tasting experience. The brewery's commitment to offering a diverse and exciting range of beers is evident, contributing to the overall enjoyment. While it may not be a five-star experience due to some minor aspects, Beavertown Brewery is undeniably a must-visit for those seeking a dynamic and flavorful outing in the world of craft beer and creative culinary offerings.

Yelp
I was introduced to Beavertown Neck Oil back in Feb 2019 while on a business trip. On my visit this time, I decided to pay the brewery a visit. Tried many of their flavors so I decided to stick with the neck oil session IPA. Also got me 10 for my suitcase. Nice spot and a nice day so lots of folks hanging out on the picnic tables. Excellent beer, nice production facility and a good time.

Yelp
On my partner's Top 10 list of London in the summer, Beavertown was worth the trip and short walk from the station. Open only on Saturdays, it was crowded on a sunny summer afternoon. There is queue for beer but get there early if you want the full selection. Prices are very reasonable and beer quality is excellent. Something for everyone. There is a rotating food stand and crisps that they will turn into nachos for you, or BYO. There was some picnic table seating but mostly piles of crates. If they spruced it up or added more tables, that could bring this to a 5 star rating. You can also return their glasses to get your money back, or take them home as a souvenir. My one complaint was that it is only open one day a week, given it is a working brewery. If they could find a way to open on both weekend days, they would have more happy customers. It's a solid choice for hanging out with friends and making the most of the nice weather. (I also hear they have covered seating during colder months so anytime of the year is a good time to visit!)

Yelp
Great beer in a good space that will probably be even better when they finish getting set up and building some stuff out. First, the beer. In my beer snob opinion, Beavertown is making some of the best stuff around London. From their very drinkable Neck Oil session IPA (I know, disgusting name, but the beer is excellent) to the darker Black Betty and up through their heavier and more complex collabs like Moosefang and Power of the Voodoo, just about everything they're putting out is well-balanced, flavorful, and interesting. And they sell it cheap at their brewery - £2.50 for 2/3 of a pint of most stuff, or 1/2 a pint of the strong stuff. Can't beat that, especially for the quality. Note that you have to put down a £2.50 deposit for a glass, but the glasses are cool enough that you might just want to keep them. But bring cash, because they don't take cards. Second, the place. It's a little off the beaten path, but surprisingly close to the Victoria stop at Tottenham, so it's really not far. You have to walk into an industrial estate - the first one on the left - and the signage is a little weak, but it's across from Fifth Column Printing. They've got a big warehouse space, half of which is devoted to picnic tables and with some makeshift seating out front, but it's pretty raw. Not that this is a problem aesthetically - I like industrial spaces - but they could fit 3x as much seating as they've got, and they need it. On the grey Saturday when I visited, every indoor seat was filled by half an hour after they opened, and although things quieted down a bit later, it was still pretty busy. Suggestions: - More seating! As mentioned above. - There's a food truck from Burger and Lobster out front selling tasty lobster rolls, but it would be nice to have another option or two available. Maybe grilled cheese? - I would also LOVE to get a brewery tour. Schedule a few per day for whoever's around, maybe? I'm sure you could even charge for them. - Credit card acceptance would be nice.

Yelp
The beers are delicious. Best craft beer in the U.K. in my opinion. Their graphics are awesome. The hospitality at their tasting room is wonderful. Highly recommend a visit, or at the very least that you try their beers around London.

Yelp
When you have a feeling that a place is going to be epic, you're going to need an epic plan that revolves around said epic place, especially when it is only open to the public on Saturdays. Beavertown is one of our favourite breweries in London, and though it seems to have nailed how to can beer, hubs and I really wanted some of their beer on draught. The slight obstacles: 1) the brewery was all the way in Tottenham Hale, which wasn't easy to get to from work or from home and 2) the brewery is only open Saturday afternoons/nights. So Hubs and I carefully planned out a whole Saturday that ended at Beavertown Brewery when Dough Bros was the chosen vendor because what do you need with some of the best beer in London? PIZZA. Sadly, without going into the gory details, the chosen day became an epic failure and we nearly had to postpone the trip up to Tottenham Hale. Then we thought: damnit, we were looking forward to this for the whole week so we JUST MUST go. And what better comfort food than craft beer and pizza? So up the Victoria line we went and into the giant expanse of the industrial complex where the magic beers were brewed. Walking through the gates is like stumbling across a gem hidden between the trees lining the canal and the new apartment buildings cropping up in Tottenham. We were lucky to have fairly nice weather and the tables, benches, the pizza stall and the bean bag game just looked glorious. There was a very relaxed vibe, though I guess it being around 2:30pm and having mild weather helped. (Rainy or cold days are no problem since their interior is really cool and has a ping pong table!) We ordered some great pizza, but I won't dwell on that since they change food vendors frequently. So if you're picky, you might want to check their Twitter feed for what's on offer that weekend. On to the BEER. They have all sorts of beer on tap. But keep in mind that their beers are usually quite strong, so I think 1/2 pint servings are a good way to go so you can sample the different beers. You pay a reasonable £2.50 deposit for the glass, which you'll get back if you bring the glass back at the end of your visit, and the beers end up to be quite cheap compared to what you'll get at other breweries serving their beer. We tried three beers: a dark stout with cherry notes in it, an apricot sort of lager (or was it pale ale? I don't remember...!!), and topped it off with the classic Gamma Ray IPA. All great, GREAT beer, and beer that leaves you more tipsy than normal due to the higher alcohol volume. Then we walked off with a 6-pack, packaged nicely and tightly. Definitely coming back again and again and again!

Yelp
Since its launch in 2014, the Beavertown Brewery taproom has drawn pilgrimages of craft beer drinkers to Tottenham Hale. As the brewery became more obsequious and recognised across the city, the popularity of the taproom has proportionally increased- currently only open to the public on Saturdays, it's customary to expect queues: the ten taps at the bar will always have the freshest beers going, with the core range and seasonals represented in good measure. The beer list is available in advance online and special releases will be promoted on social media. There are fridges where bottles can be purchased and customers can imbibe onsite. Outside, there's a small can bar of the core range, where Neck Oil and Gamma Ray can be sourced without a lengthy wait. There are pita crisps available at the bars and always a pop-up food vendor purveying hot dishes to counterbalance the drinking session- on a recent visit, we had scrumptious burgers from Squid Kitchen paired with some patatas bravas. When the sun is shining, there's plenty of seating outdoors in the form of communal wooden tables, chairs made from pallates and even reject diner plastic chairs and table sets. Inside, there's no seating, but clusters of people gather- prudently within a eyeshot from the bar. There's also the thrill of supping a beer in the brewery itself, under the shadow of the mammoth fermenter tanks. The atmosphere is always convivial, mostly older Millennials and discerning types- but there's always a contingency of drinkers who are content to graze on their Gamma Ray without sampling some of the smaller batch offerings. The Beavertown staff are always welcoming and enthusiastic- they'll talk you through the selection on tap and will make recommendations. They're run off their feet as the queue snakes around the bar without respite from the moment that the doors open, but maintain a steady pace and sense of humour. While it's patently obvious that the popularity of the brewery and their beer has been unprecedented over the past two years and that the taproom can't sustain the swelling crowds for much longer, it's worth experiencing before the next incarnation of the brewery bar is announced. There's a lot of talk about a designated pub or expansion within the confines of the industrial yard, but nothing has been officially announced. In the meantime, it's worth eking out to Tottenham Hale to drink some great beer from the source- just make sure you try a bit of everything and that you get down there early.

Yelp
Easily one of London's best brewery taprooms. They always have a great selection of beer on draft, along with cans and special bottles to take away. Great prices. Friendly service. Lots of space to sit, mostly outside. Excellent events from time to time. Only open on Saturdays. Well worth the trek up to Tottenham Hale.
