Bedford Cheese Shop

The Bedford Cheese Shop is an adorable establishment that has an extensive selection of top-quality cheeses. While the cheese offerings are undeniably impressive, I found the sandwiches and bites to be a bit lacking in flavor and portion size. In particular, the sandwich I ordered seemed to be skimping on the meat, and considering the price point, I was hoping for a more substantial serving.

We adore the sandwiches but the cheese boards for company entertaining are a slam dunk. They are more beautiful and tasty than you can imagine. You put them out and your friends are happy. Just remember to order to 48 hours in advance!

Cool spot to meet friends for a coffee or Breakfast. Surprisingly nice and smiling staff, specially for a place so centrally located (near Union Square). The menu is a bit pricey but so is everything in the area. I had a grilled sandwich and it was ok, yet being a cheese shop I expected more "cheese goodness", stronger and more artisan flavors and textures and I found it to be more onto the average side. The pickled veggies and the side salad were both a pleasant surprise that paired perfectly.

Had the Gramercy sandwich toasted — SO delicious! Will absolutely come back. Really nice staff and lots of yummy unique treats inside as well, brands from all over the world.

Had the grilled cheese sandwich + bacon. Generous, gooey cheese but probably should’ve gone without the bacon (made it too salty overall). Think Coffee served. Outdoor seating perfect for a lovely day like today. Got distracted and forgot I wanted to try the key lime pie! 😂 Next time.

While the staff were friendly and helpful, these were easily the worst sandwiches I ate in NYC so far. The Kips Bay (tuna) - there was barely any tuna in it, like were they running out? The prosciutto in the Northside was slimy and tasteless. All you got from that one is the fig jam. The only thing good about either of these was the tomato soup I got on the side which helped choke these down. No idea about these rave ratings about the sandwiches here when you can get a significantly better ones at the delis around the corner. 2024.02.09

Bedford put an amazing platter for our wedding that really set the event off on the right foot. Easy to work with, food was fantastic!

The items here seem pricy but I trust that they are at least high quality ingredients. Two times I’ve ordered items from here and both times I’ve become horribly ill after. They add these sauces to the sandwiches and the salad that came with the grilled cheese and I’m not sure what I’m eating. I can only assume that either the cheese or the sauce in both items triggered something. Perhaps the items here are just too rich for me to digest.

Great cheese, bread, etc. The staff is nice and the shop is located in a really sweet neighborhood.

Service was excellent. My server D knew her cheeses well and was expert in providing appropriate suggestions.

They had me at Cheese Shop. I stopped in after a long walk looking for a place that could cure my craving for a sandwich. A quick look at the menu and I was sold! 2 Gramercy sandwiches and 1 chocolate chip sea salt cookie did the trick 100%. So so tasty and on the most delicious crispy bagget. It had goat cheddar, roasted turkey, and what tasted kind of like a super light coleslaw. $13 & very good. Recommend the Gramercy. We were lucky enough to get one of the few coveted outside tables and a perfect little lunch in the sun. The inside is a spacious and beautiful shop with cheeses (duh) lots of other goods and snacks and desserts and drinks and more. I am very happy we found this little shop.

Delious hot pressed sandwiches. I've tried a few and all were very good. They are a bit like paninis, toasty and warm. I also like the spicy cheese spreads on some of the sandwiches. The cheese selection also looks nice.. Recommend.

I was able to purchase the cheese of my choice and my excellent sales associate was very helpful and patient! This made it a very enjoyable shopping experience. I recommend this place highly. The selection is enormous and high quality.

THIS REVIEW IS EXCLUSIVELY ABOUT THE SUBPAR $22 GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH. The store is well appointed, with tons of cheese options, and a warm and talented staff. If you're just there to buy some cheese, I'm sure it's great. THAT SAID if you are a cheese shop and you are advertising a "signature grilled cheese"....and IF that grilled cheese starts at $13, and then once you add toppings, it's $19 and with tip, it becomes a frickin $22 sandwich, it really better be at least a decent sandwich. And it's not. Start with the bread. Instead of a country hearth bread grilled to crispy brown perfection, we have a version of regular store-bought white bread. (So it's a small sandwich to begin with.) But this bread is cut obnoxiously thick to give the impression that the sandwich has substance. So, most of what you're eating when you get this sandwich is this bread. So if the bread is the main ingredient, IT had better be great. It's not. The bread's consistency is that of a disintegrating kitchen sponge that should have been thrown away months ago. Then there's the "cheese". The defining characteristic of a grilled cheese sandwich is ooey-gooey cheese. That's the bare minimum. This sandwich is served "warm" from a panini press and is surprisingly light on cheese. It appeared that there was some sort of pub cheese spread...maybe a flavored cream cheese, and then a single unmelted slice of swiss. I got mine with avocado and tomato. (Nothing to complain about with those two ingredients.) But the overall experience of the sandwich is chomping through mushy bread into luke warm unmelted cheese and ingredients. Mushy lukewarm mouthfeel. Basically the opposite of what you expect/want from a grilled cheese. Maybe if it was a $8 deli sandwich it'd be forgivable. But seriously, you could get a better-grilled cheese at literally any deli in the city. They all have griddles and they're not going to take it off of that griddle until it's got a crispy brown exterior and a gooey cheesy interior. Period. So, the $22 (with toppings/tip) price for this subpar exploration of the sammie just becomes a bit offensive. (Hence me waking up and feeling like I couldn't go about my day without this bitchy Yelp review.) In any event, like I said, nice looking store, staff were perfectly kind to me. But suffice it to say, Bedford Cheese went immediately on my "do not fly" list for sandwiches. #NotWorthIt

Wow. The grilled cheese is spectacular. Small space to sit in the back as well. I had a ham and cheese and it was also terrific. Looks just like cheese from the outside, I grabbed a good cup of coffee to go as well.

As expensive as the products are at Bedford Cheese Shop, I find the floor to ceiling shelves stocked with gourmet products to be such a treasure trove. 4 different kinds of chili crisp, umpteen versions of marmalade, teas, chocolate, and wafers pack the store, and I could spend a long time browsing the shop for things to stock my pantry with. I've shopped here enough that I know a lot of different cheeses, the regions they come from, and their flavor profiles that and it makes me feel a little fancy, so despite some sticker shock, Bedford Cheese Shop brings me great joy. The shop is large, the staff is friendly, and they have a nice breakfast menu of burritos, grilled cheeses, and sandwiches. The breakfast burrito I got took a while for them to prepare but ended up being delicious and well worth the wait. Fortunately I can while away the time checking their wonderful selection of accoutrements that I will inevitably overpay for and not regret one bit.

I have never come here to sit; I use it as a cheese and meats shop before I go to vineyards. Pricey - definitely!!! But I do like their customer service; their staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable to suggest some great cheese that will fit your description 100%. The flavor profile of whatever you get is mind-blowing, and you can find something that will go with any wine you are going to have. Plus, if you are adventures enough, this place has a lot to offer! This time around, I gig myself a truffle goat cheese that I can not wait to try.

Quality has gone down down hill. Mostly bread. Not enough meat or toppings. Maybe new ownership ? Also, prices have gone up with less real food ?

Rude staff. I've only met one person their that was friendly and excited/knowledgeable about the products. Way over-priced. They yelled at a gentlemen to move who was looking at the cheese case bc they were trying to move a cart through the aisle. Could have asked nicer asked. There are way better places in the city!

If you're going to be open, then be open. Came in with ample time before close and told the station was closed. Unprofessional. We all have places to be, but you're paid to be there, and you're the one telling us you're open for business. I, like any sane person, rely on your POSTED HOURS OF OPERATION to know whether you're OPERATING during those HOURS. If you're closed earlier, then say so.

I was clueless looking for some cheeses to bring to Friendsgiving with my coworkers, and the cheesemonger helped me pick out a soft, hard, and semi-firm cheese, which impressed everyone. I LOOOOOVED everything she recommended. Got to try them before I bought them too! What a great shop, so friendly and welcoming. My 3 cheeses which I would totally buy again: - Domaine du Village - Ogleshield - Black Betty The wrapping of each cheese had the animal source, description and where they're from too, in case you'd like to know.

We stopped in hoping to grab some cafe panna ice cream after the shop nearby was closed for the day. Unfortunately, they were sold out but I picked up some cheese and meat. I had a very aged orange cheddar cheese. It had a little bit of mold. I usually don't like blue cheese or molding at all but I found it much more palatable then then typical aged cheese. We also had done jamón serrano which was delicious. They've got an absolutely incredible selection of cheeses and other delicacies.

Went to try their grilled cheese sandwich, which was delicious!!! We sat outside, and it turned out to be a great brunch. They also offer a big selection of cheeses. Lovely place!

*UPDATE*: Whoops! Specifically asked for no nuts in case of a potential allergy, and there were a bunch on the platter :( Just had to add this because that could have potentially been a huge problem/safety hazard for the recipient, and due to the high price point, I was a bit disappointed. :/

Something between a 2 and a 3. They have a great charcuterie selection but jeez are their items overpriced, even for this area. The best deals you'll find are still marked up 50% or more. The person who helped was fine though there wasn't updates while I was waiting. I didn't see a scale either so it was hard to tell if I wasn't getting ripped off more. Anyway, I just got some meat to go which turned out to be a bit under double the price at other spots. The saucisson is delicious though. 2.3

Did you know Bedford Cheese offers gift baskets? Did you know that they offer next day delivery? I did - but it seems they do not. Can whoever's dad who fronted the money to these bunch of clowns take off his belt and instill a little follow through here. I ordered a criminally overpriced gift basket to be sent to my friend who suffered an untimely loss (not her cat dying). I paid $40 extra for it to be sent next day. Not only did Bedford Cheese charge me and not send the basket, but then they went ahead and ignored several emails and phone calls I made to them in the week afterward. When they finally did put me in touch with someone who could deal with the matter, they offered no explanation as to why it was never filed nor did they apologize. It's still hard to determine whether they're willfully incompetent or just hittin that "cbd" pen incompetent, regardless I prefer AETNA's customer service. Will continue to use Zingermans mail order instead. Better. Cheaper. More follow through.

I may need to visit more cheesemongers before I realize if this is actually supposed to be 5 stars; after all, I did have a fantastic experience here. As soon as I walked in, the female cheesemonger (ugh should've gotten her name) was bright and friendly, asking if I wanted to sample anything. I totally didn't realize that was a thing, and before I knew it, I had sampled 5 different cheeses. She continued to be patient and friendly, even offering me more samples, before Raymond nudged me to wrap it up and I noticed the line forming behind me. Yikes! :x I told the cheesemonger that I was interested in trying sheep cheese, since I had really enjoyed ones I've had recently. I happened to be standing by the semi-hard cheeses, which was a mistake because she probably thought I was looking at those. @_@ I sampled a Tomme Brulee and an Ossau Ivry. I thought the Tomme Brulee was really mild and not very interesting, and the Ossau Ivry was slightly better but still not something I would've gotten. Surprisingly, Raymond said he liked it enough to buy it on the spot. I'll have to try it again this weekend when we serve it! Another woman asked if she could have in on the samples, and I transitioned over to trying the Zimbro and Estrela da Serra, which she was standing near. I enjoyed both of those significantly more; they were both soft, creamy (Brie-like) and really flavorful. The Zimbro actually tastes like strawberries! I decided to go home with the Estrela da Serra ultimately because I thought it might've been weird to serve a strawberry cheese. (I kinda regret this in retrospect after reading reviews of it online, but I'm still pretty excited about the Estrela da Serra). The cheesemonger took out a slab of beautiful orange speckled cheese, and I couldn't help but inquire about it. It was their last piece of L'Amuse Signature Gouda, and I absolutely LOVED the little piece I tried - caramel, nutty, rich and incredibly flavorful. I had to take it. It did sound really familiar to me, though, so I looked it up afterwards; I've ordered it before on FreshDirect. When I thought about it, I realized that I thought it was good, but not as good as my current favorite Gouda, Ewephoria. The piece I tried at Bedford Cheese Shop was far superior to the cheese I've had, so I'm going to have to do a direct comparison next time. I guess I'm giving 1 less star because all the cheeses that I compared online to FreshDirect are more expensive at Bedford Cheese Shop. It could be that I'm paying for the cheesemonger's expertise/samples, so I'll have to visit other cheese shops and see. I'd definitely come back, though, because there's definitely a much larger selection here!

Such friendly staff I've ever seen. So knowledgeable. And the cheese so high quality.

The most enjoyable way to gather provisions for your cheese and charcuterie plates. The setting is very relaxed with lots of help if you need, all items are well thought out and curated to perfection. Staff is highly knowledgeable on what they sell, steering you to try new cheeses and suggesting accompaniments that will compliment nicely. The entire store is well curated, every item is carefully thought out....you could likely choose any combination of items and come out with a fabulous snack or meal. They also have a full deli case of salads, sandwiches and other snacks, as well as coffee and other refreshments. We were lucky to have a wonderful cheesemonger guide us through trying new cheese and meats and making sure we left with everything we needed. He was nice, confident and pleasant which added all the more to our first experience in the store. Five stars, will be back!!

This is really close to my yoga studio, so I decided to drop by since it's national wine day(?!). The presentation of the shop is absolutely adorable and pristine. I loved the variety of products that they offered. My FAVORITE cheese from this place is the australian feta. It's actually not encased in the glass but off to the right side of it in pre-packed containers. You will not be sorry. The workers are also available to help you choose and provide samples. The samples made me splurge some more; I bought the truffle tremor and some calabrese. These were also solid choices. I did take off some stars because of the prices. I felt like I could get better deals at Trader Joe's, though the quality may suffer a little. Overall, great place for different types of cheeses, spreads, and cured meats but it might hurt your wallet a bit.

Love this cheese shop! Had the world's best grilled cheese and a gorgeous cheese plate. Great assortment of cheese, crackers, take Way sandwiches and condiments. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff aWish I lived closer so that I could take the classes they offer.

Really nice selection of cheeses. Diverse mix of European and American. The cheesemonger was very knowledgable about the cheeses but not very helpful when it came to customer service on their menu. A "create your own" cheese board was listed on the menu but he said they dont actually do that. So the cheese was great but it was not a place that fell welcoming to linger.

One rude employee knocks this place down 2 stars, but everyone else I interacted with was helpful and pleasant. this one guy though truly gives off the energy that he does not want to be bothered with people, which is not the way to go about running a business. I mean rolling his eyes, dismissing me and pawning me off to someone else in a rude way, just horrible vibes. however, the young lady who stepped in to help me was very sweet and knowledgeable and help me make a great party platter with a gift card I received. My experience wasn't bad enough to say I wouldn't go back, but I would hope this guy wasn't on duty.

This Manhattan outpost is not as big or well-stocked as their Williamsburg location but they still have a great selection of local cheeses. I usually swing by for their SQRL jams and grab 'n go packages so I can't say much on the service level of the staff. I will say, however, they are patient and will leave you alone to leisurely browse to your heart's content.

I come to this store fairly regularly to buy cheese. The selection is impressive although products (understandably) are not cheap. What I have noticed is a significant variability in the quality of service - which ranges from excellent to poor. Most recently my spouse and I came in on a weekend, late afternoon. There were 4-5 staff behind the counter and only one other customer who was already making his selections. Not a single person acknowledged us either as we came in or waited in front of the cheese display. My spouse stood behind me, on his phone, very clearly not too interested. Few minutes later, a staff member approached my spouse and ask if he 'needed help' - I responded to her saying that I would like some assistance. The staff member then walked behind the counter and took the order from a woman who just entered the shop saying she is placing an order from a restaurant next door. Again, no acknowledgement, no 'I will be right with you'. Nothing. We actually left without buying. Not a pleasant experience.

Haven't been in here in awhile even though I live in the hood, service and selection used to be amazing. The little bearded man that helped me (I waited a good 10 min for anyone to help and the store was empty) the man that helped me acted disgusted with every thing I ordered and was super unfriendly. I went specifically for cheese (Bedford cheese shop) when I said I wanted a specific tasting cheese he basically rolled his eyes and offered one choice.. nothing else.. they have over a hundred different cheese.. normally a cheese shop will throw out suggestions and I will buy every one .. I left with NO cheese .. obviously they are struggling to survive and with the way they treat customers I can see why ... SAD!!

I love the original shop, and their cheese selection here is great. However the service here is rude and entirely unfriendly and unhelpful. I came in with no other customers in the store and they just kind of ignored me for a bit, then I took a closer look at a couple of the cheese they had sitting on top of the counter (wrapped in plastic) and as I picked one up to purchase, I got yelled at for "touching the cheese". Literally yelled at. Like, why would you put product (wrapped in plastic) on top of the counter if you didn't want people to touch it?? Stick it inside the case! And honestly there's no need to yell at me like I'm a 5 year old grabbing handfuls of food from the lunch buffet.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I spent $13 on a grilled sandwich here and it was offensive. Burnt yet somehow also complete mush which doesn't sound possible, but it was. $5 grilled cheese from basically any bodega would be infinitely better.

To start, I'm very surprised at some of the low reviews on here. My experience here was nothing short of great! I came here looking to get something to give as a Christmas present and didn't really know where to start. The lovely woman behind the cheese counter could not have been more of a tremendous help; she made building a little gift basket some scratch a quick and easy experience. I gave her a price point to work with and she had a multitude of combinations of different cheeses, crackers, jams, honeys, etc to add to the basket. She was even kind enough to allow me to sample a few cheeses before making a final selection and even went as far as to elaborate on some of the processes on how the cheeses are made. I'll say to anyone looking to give a gift basket or bring something to a party and doesn't quite know where to start, look no further than this place!

This place is DELICIOUS. I order a toasted Broadway Junction at least once a week. Whether I am ordering in DoorDash or in person, it is always crispy and perfect. The breakfast burrito is also great.

This place is just not for me. They have way too much attitude, definitely lacking in the friendly customer service department. Sadly, my favorite discontinued cheese is at this shop, however, I rather forget about the cheese than come to this shop again. One star.

Amazing selection of cheese, meats and all things delicious. They are very knowledgeable as well. Unfortunately, they don't always want your money and as a consumer, that's very frustrating. They close early in the summer but don't list their hours on yelp or their website and they turn off their slicer 1/2 hour before closing. (Why are you still open then). Of course, they also tell you they are closing early with an attitude. "Don't you know, it's on the door" I live 3 blocks away and I use to drop 50~60 dollars a trip. If they can't be customer-centric and improve the way they interact with their consumers, I'll be happy to drop my money elsewhere.

We can't do substitutions on sandwiches. That would be crazy! But you can just pick off the things you don't like. We can't. But you can. Because we are super busy and important. Do substitutions.

The one amazing thing I did have was the prairie cheddar. It was a sharp cheddar and crumbly and I would definitely get it again. However, I felt that the prosciutto di Parma had no flavor and the salami just tasted waxy. The aged Gouda was good, but the same one you can get anywhere. We tried to get a truffle cheese but they only had 2 and we didn't like either of them. We also asked for a Brie but they only had 1 mild one. For this big of a cheese shop they should have more of a selection for these popular type cheeses. Probably would go to a different shop if I were in the mood for meat and cheese again.

I like happy cheese mongers. The 20 or so times I have been in the shop I have not heard one laugh coming from the employees. Its kind of strange. They are an unpleasant bunch for sure - not even fun to talk to. The prices are high too. You can buy the same cheese for 15% less at Murray's. They do have a great selection of cheeses just don't expect kindness or jocularity coming from behind the counter.

The Bedford Cheese shop deserves more then 5 stars! With their expansive and wide variety of cheeses you cant go wrong! I love to purchase a few different cheeses and bring them to friends or family's party's as a hostess gift. Not to mention, they have the best deviled eggs in the world! Excellent quick breakfast/lunch in union square!

I've only had their sandwiches here but they are delicious, specifically the Caprese and Northside. The shop also has so many unique products and an impressive selection of cheeses and meats. It's worth the visit!

Really friendly staff and you can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches. I got plenty of great recommendations and samples. The Hells Kitchen sandwich is just unbelievable. Will be back very soon.

I came here the other day since I was in the area and got a sandwich. They have a great selection of artisanal sundry products such as ketchup, mustard and hot sauces. They also have salads, sandwiches and biscuits, along with many yummy cheeses to choose from. I loved the biscuit and sandwich I got, and will definitely go back. The prices are a little steep, but the quality is really good. Would recommend stopping by if in the neighborhood.

Amazing cheese selection. Have local, high quality stuff, and always see new things when I come here. Little bit on the pricier side but I'm fine with paying for what I get. The employees on the other hand are on another level of rude/unhelpful. Really make it a big deal when you ask to try different things out. Also give nasty looks of your not a cheese expert and are just looking for guidance.

Since moving into the neighborhood 3 years ago, the service here has done a 180. The staff went from uninterested (and unhelpful) to a friendly group of cheese-lovers who want to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Excellent selection of cheeses that rotate somewhat throughout the year, a smaller selection of charcuterie, and lots of little goodies to add to a picnic or platter. We took a cheese and wine class in the back and had an amazing experience - the instructor was knowledgeable and approachable; we learned a ton and took full advantage of the discount we got on day-of-class purchases highly recommend trying one! The sandwiches are decent (if pricey), and their new breakfast burrito is delicious if you're looking for something you can grab and eat on the go.

A few weeks ago, my father sent me a picture of Bedford Cheese Shop's Twitter, where they had posted a picture of their Christmas ham--unfortunately, by the time I actually made it to the store, they were already out! But last night was my second time coming to this great little shop (their Irving Pl location is a blessing to those who live in Manhattan), and once again, the service was great. They happily offered suggestions of similar meats, and pointed out each mouthwatering, giant leg of ham as they explained what was so special about it. On both visits, the people working the counters were willing to offer suggestions to me, a casual cheese consumer. I am by no means at the level where I could define the flavor profile of cheeses--I get as far as "hard" or "soft" cheese, and maybe by now have got down the "sharp"/"strong" cheese versus the "mild" cheeses. Either way, they were willing to listen to my plebian requests for "something like Manchego, I think" or "something that would go well with the serrano, maybe," and patiently fed me samples. Overall, I think they have a fine selection of meats, and also other goodies, such as high-quality sun-dried tomatoes, red peppers in oil, fresh pasta, Pipcorn, gourmet chocolates, sausages...all sorts of delicious, luxe ingredients for cooks and connoisseurs alike. I overheard one of the specialists advising a customer on the perfect blend of cheeses for Mac and Cheese, and another one yesterday listening to a customer's requests for something "earthy... sharp" with no hesitation. They respond well to even the most ignorant of cheese eaters, and for that, I am grateful. My only complaint is that I asked for 1 pound of the bacon, but instead received only 0.5 (half) pound... Ultimately, I did not mind because a pound is pricey at $21, and the half, plus a 1/4 pound of cheese, was under $20. Personally, I would love to come here once I have a better grasp on my budget, buy a bunch of ingredients, and make a meal. I also noticed that they sell sandwiches, including a Grilled Cheese, something that is made all the more delicious by a high-end cheese. Next time I will try one of those, as well.

Seeing so many cheese shops in Paris just two months ago makes me want to go inside a cheese shop and just inhale and exhale. This cheese stop has more than cheese. It has a lot of European jam, cookies, Italian cold cuts, and chocolates. Since I am not a real cheese expert, I went with what everyone has been raving about online - the Australian goat cheese (feta) or aka, the Crack Cheese. It is $30/lb so it is a bit pricey but it is very very good. You just need a little bit for the rich and creamy flavor. I also got some of their chocolate cardinals in a jar and it is dark chocolate covered with liquor inside! I wish I got more. I can't wait to return to try more cheese and their salami next time!

With their only other location in Brooklyn, I was delighted to see such a cute little place open recently. It really caters perfectly to this area (Irving Place) and once the locals realize that that "always closed storefront" is finally open, I'm sure business will be booming. As many may know, I'm not a fan of cheese but I still ventured in out of curiosity. & I, too, wanted to know why my elevator smelled like cheese all the time. But besides cheese, they have a wide selection of fresh breads and European goods. From jams to pastas to European nutella (which is apparently different from American nutella, according to the staff), I was more fascinated by their huge collection of chocolates -- typical. I ended up settling on a chocolate from Madagascar with sea salt and nibs, which concluded an exhausting long day of work quite well. They also have a ton of classes e.g. Wine & Cheese pairings, Chocolate & Cheese, which sound like great fun!

A well-stocked shop filled with international, regional, and local gourmet treats and pantry staples. Prices are no higher than those from Murray's Cheese, Chelsea Market, or Grand Central. In fact, prices here are very often cheaper. It all depends on what one buys and in what amount. My most recent purchase consisted of three cheeses; St. Nectaire, Tome d'Alsace Welsche, and Bra Tenero, and one French mustard; Moutarde Pommery Piment D'Espelette. I'm very happy with the quality, taste and price of these items. The descriptions provided by the store for the cheeses and meats are fairly accurate in terms of taste and texture. However, the writer or writers tries too hard to be cute, edgy, hip, and outsider. Telling me my cheese can be compared to a "one night stand" is extraneous.

This place is super adorable, and its placement on quaint Irving Place is enough to make you feel like you've wandered into Britain. Perfect spot to snag digestives or funky flavored "crisps." (Roast chicken potato crisps, anyone?) A bit pricey, but what they lack in affordability they unquestionably make up for in atmosphere.

A fancy little sandwich on a baguette that's a tad over-priced, but good enough that I want to go back and try others. There are zero substitutions, just know that going in. So if you want to add arugala to your sandwich and are willing to pay for it, they won't do it, which is pretty annoying.
