The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2026 Bib Gourmand Selection

"Serving halal Malaysian-Chinese fare, I appreciated how this charming café replaces pork with chicken and seafood without compromising on flavor; what began as a humble street stall in 1992 is now family-run, and the char kway teow is sautéed with minced garlic instead of lard and tossed in a secret soy sauce blend that delivers a spicy-sweet kick, while the hae mee broth brims with seafood umami and the house-made curry paste lends an aromatic heat to the noodles." - The MICHELIN Guide

The foods were excellent! I tried the White Curry Noodles and Char Kuey Tiaw and both of these are must try! During peak hours such as lunch hours, you need to queue around 15-25 minutes. And the wait for the foods is around 10 minutes. Once you get a table, you order through the QR code on the table. They accept card, cash, and QR payment options.

We were on a late lunch and taste famous Penang foods: Char kaoy Teow and Hokkien mee. Both were delicious 👌🏻 Ordering is done by scanning the Qr code (as like many other places too) on the table. The app seems to take allergies into account, which is important if you have any (we don't have any so didn't test it in practice).

Tasty Halal Chinese Food! Really enjoyed the food at Bee Hwa Cafe! Everything we ordered was delicious — especially the Char Kway Teow and white curry mee. Great to have halal Chinese options that don’t compromise on flavour. Place has an old-school kopitiam feel, and the staff were friendly. It can get a bit crowded, but the service was quick. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Penang!

Was heading there for the recommended white curry. The boss is super funny and helped order. Never pushed to more expensive or bigger size. Just told us to order the basic is enough. Tried the white curry and the shrimp noodles! Both are very delicious! The best we tried in Penang! Many ingredients and decent portions! Definitely want to try again next time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Came a little late and the famous Penang Char Kuey Teow was already sold out, but the Penang White Curry Noodles more than made up for it. The broth was light yet very flavourful, not overly creamy, and really comforting. Each bowl comes with a mix of yellow noodles and bihun, half a boiled egg, prawns, cuttlefish, cockles, taupok and a spoonful of sambal that adds a nice spicy kick. Truly delicious and well balanced. Will definitely come back again — this time earlier to try the CKT and another bowl of the white curry noodles. Tip: Come before 2.30pm as popular items sell out fast 😄

Wow.....its worth the hype. Char Koay Teow - 10/10 White Curry noodle soup - 10/10 Roti Bakar bread - 10/10 Hor Kar Sai (traditonal mocha) - 10/10 Service - efficient Price - good Everything is great except for the young male owner / manager who is VERY VERY LOUD and constantly talks in the eating area and disturbs everyone from an otherwise peaceful lunch. I'll def be back Great job guys

And their QR order is neat to my heart. Itemize the details... WOW ! I found "IKAT TEPI" here! 😍😍😍 I believe today is a good day after I step in to this friendly restaurant. This was our last breakfast before returning home. The owner was very friendly and suggested dishes and drinks for us to try. We got the char koay teow and a noodle soup. Both dishes were delicious and I highly recommend anyone to try them. I can’t remember the names of the drinks but they’re unique only to the restaurant. Plenty of seating. Prices were very cheap. Good portions.
