The 13 Best Cheese Dishes in NYC | Eater NY

"This Flatiron cheese store has roots in the Pike Place Market from a Seattle cheesemonger. A great selection of cheeses is sourced from all over but some varieties are manufactured on the premises. It also boasts a cheese cave, wine bar, and cafe, and it is in the cafe that one can order a range of great grilled cheese sandwiches. Many are made with Flagship, the company’s white cow’s milk cheese, aged 15 months and tasting like a cross between cheddar and gruyere. The sandwich I like best features a thin slice of beef, a few leaves of arugula used as an herb, and a slice of tomato, the flavors of which are dominated by the cheese." - Robert Sietsema

14 Top Mac & Cheese Dishes in NYC | Eater NY

"This Seattle import’s deft touch with aged dairy is on display in its mac and cheese, with a sharp yet creamy mix of a cheddar-Gruyere mix, Jack, and some cream for good measure. Most unusual is its choice of noodle: penne, which makes for a toothsome experience. While it doesn’t need any accessorizing, optional add-ons include pork belly; crab, Old Bay aioli, and bread crumbs; or balsamic mushrooms and fennel. It’s offered downstairs in the Cellar restaurant portion, as well as for takeaway by the cup upstairs in the Cafe." - Alexandra Ilyashov

Google
Was attracted by the vibe and the view to Manhattan, so decided to site down at Beecher's Handmade Cheese, but was not impressed [Shy] Ordered their Chicken and Mama Li's grilled cheese sandy, bread was overcooked, and the handmade cheese 🧀 didn't rich and flavorful, as to their Mama Li's sauce, not sure if they added into the sandwich 🥪, but I wouldn't come again even just for a quick bite.

Google
This cross between a handmade cheese shop and an airport cafe at Newark Liberty offers upscale cheeses and accompaniments like honey for cheese. I found 6 types of cheese--handmade cheese--- and grabbed the Marco Polo version, billed to be very buttery to take for my trip. The expresso is daringly good. I took note of the salads for my return trip. Great selection of pastries, too.

Ariya try this terminal Resturant/Bar to have a soup and drinks. The staff were really friendly and the tomato soup was fresh. We tried Caesar and a beer and it was well prepared. A bit pricey compared to Canadian bars but the way through cheered us up with some complimentary cheese sticks which went very well with our drinks.

Nice menu. But nothing that is made is delivered like it sounds. The staff is unorganized and it takes very long to receive your order. They were giving out random food and then taking it back and handing it to someone else. My sandwich had been in 3 people’s hands before they decided it was mine. They cooked the grilled cheese too long and the cheese all oozed out. The special spread was a brown mustard. French onion soup had 3 croutons and a pinch of cheese. A good amount of onions, though. Mac and cheese was good. Definitely high airport prices and not worth it at all.

Takes forever to get your order and even then they don't get it right. You need to pay and tip beforehand and then they rudely tell you that you can't sit on seats with cushions (reserved for bar even though they are completely empty); Rather you need to sit on really uncomfortable painful cushion-less chairs with metallic bars. The 16$ premade and heated sandwich was so bad that I threw it after two bites. Avoid.

Disappointed about the wait time. Served coffee quicker than toasted cheese with bread, 10 mins waited even no any other customers. Cheese with bread tasted good though!

I walked in today to get lunch on my lunch break around 2:15 , I witnessed a manager screaming at another manager because the manager was trying to place my sandwich on the grill while the workers prepared for their shift she was real rude to her employees..instead of her screaming at them she should get up and do something because she was sitting down talking on the phone and being rude to that poor manager who was just trying to help me out . This behavior is unacceptable if she doesn’t know how to be a manager then she shouldn’t be one .

Google
Had a really tasty bacon egg and cheese sandwich. A bit pricey, but so is everything at an airport... So, not out of line with other vendors.

Yelp
The tomato soup is absolutely delicious. It feels like a warm loving hug. The mom's sandwich it's another warm hug and a kiss from a loving heart. Service is impeccable shout out to Essence, a very kind, happy, funny woman who will treat you like a good friend that hasn't seen you in years.

Yelp
There are a ton of good options for food in terminal A but this is my fave. Always good service and a solid selection of wines by the glass. Juan is the best bartender- very attentive and nice.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab breakfast while waiting for my flight to leave. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich was hot, crispy, and delicious. However, it took them so long to make it even though they weren't that busy. It seemed like they forgot to put it on the griddle. After standing around for some time, they asked me what I had ordered, and only then did they start preparing it. I noticed other people standing around waiting for food, and the staff kept asking what other people had ordered after standing around for some time. Staff workflow seemed unorganized. Seating for Beecher's is unclear since there is a bar right next to it with seating all around it. I sat by the window but that is considered the bar section so I had to move to the other side near the main walkway.

Yelp
I went to this place in Seattle for the first time and when I saw it at the airport I knew i had to have it!! Make sure to try the flagship sammy or something that starts with mama. The Mac and cheese was iight but the grilled cheeses are the best thing on the menu. I paid 16 $ at the airport for a tiny sammy but sheesh it was flavorful .

Yelp
I didn't take a picture, but one of the best turkey sandwiches I've had, and I LOVE turkey sandwiches!! Pleasant surprise at the airport. Wish they had other cafes I don't have to go through airline security to get to lol

Yelp
Was much better on my last visit in December, 2023. Current service is completely inattentive. Have to wave someone down for a drink and to pay. Bartenders seem to just look right through customers as if they are invisible. Tough combination when at an airport and trying to grab something before a flight. Will skip it next time.
