"A laid-back taproom and bottle shop, Beer Bunker carries one of the best draft lists east of Mount Tabor. The stark, industrial space provides entertainment in the form of darts and pinball, and a large pavement patio out back is strewn with red picnic tables for sunny day drinking. The bar opens in the mid-afternoon and quickly fills up with regulars looking for a cool pint." - Janey Wong, Nathan Williams

"A relaxed tap house and bottle shop serving the Montavilla crowd, the bright and spacious Beer Bunker offers a robust tap list of local brews. Inside, guests can find darts and board games, and out back is a large concrete patio that is just made for summer-time-sipping, generally packed on sunny weekends." - Alex Frane

Saw two bands, great beer selection, cool vibes, beer tender was cool. One of the bands it was their first gig and they were amazing. Sushi place around the corner is the bomb. Nice night out to a new neighborhood.

Needed a couple quick beers to-go and thought this place might also be a bottle shop and lucked out - several coolers behind the bar/far right wall with a nicely curated list of beers/breweries. I’ve been here once or twice before over the years for a beer on tap and had a nice visit, but my frustration/reason for this review was the beers to-go. These are vying for the highest prices I’ve seen in Portland (about 90% of the cans, almost all singles, were $6-7 each) but the poke in the eye was they’re actually $5.99 and $6.99 - what is this, Walmart? Please just give me straightforward pricing without gimmicks to make your prices feel lower than they are. One suggestion if you want/need to charge those prices on singles - give a 4- or 6-pack discount of $1 off each beer in ‘bulk’. Tomorrow’s Verse Taproom on Fremont does this and eases the pain of higher than normal prices (also for a well-curated variety). Friendly staff but I won’t buy to-go beers from here again. I’d just drive a little out of the way to Belmont Station for a much larger selection at normal prices. Rant over, I bid you good day.

Came for a live music event and really enjoyed the wide variety of beers. The rustic beer memorabilia was really interesting enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. There was a taco truck (he opened a station inside) which was solid as well.

Google
Comfy, rustic dive beer house. I love it, rare seasonal bottles of imperial stouts and double American ales. 24 rotating taps, joy. Outside patio that allows doggies! Would recommend to beer lovers that love a super casual environment with friendly staff.

Google
Not a good spot for disabled folks or the COVID conscious. The bartender asked me why I was wearing a mask; I didn’t come in for a political discussion. Everyone has mysterious respiratory infections, and long COVID affects even once healthy people like myself. On top of that invasive interaction, the menu is written in chalk in a dimly lit corner, making it very hard to read. There are too many numbers on the board describing prices. Every beer is a different price, down to the quarter. They chill their glasses, which is awful for craft beer. The glasses also didn’t feel clean. I think the beer is also stored too cold, not enjoyable. Much better beer spots in the same area that don’t care what you wear on your face.

Google
Relaxed atmosphere, eclectic music, great beer selection, fun vintage beer memorabilia, bottles to buy. A+ for the tiny chilled tasting glasses 🍻

Google
My favorite neighborhood spot!! And they even sell my hometown beer, Drekker :)

Google
Some excellent selection of unique microbrews in SE Portland. They have an impressive assortment of beers on tap but the real gold here is the micro brew case on the back side of the bar. Honorable mentions to Deftones Phantom Bride , and White Pony both by Belching Beaver, Atomic Jukebox by Fort George, and a beer i purchased strictly for the name ... and bright pink can ... Bunny with A Chainsaw.

Cassidy D.

Yelp
Huge tap list selection, board games, and a fair amount of seating. My only complaint is the steep price for a pint, but seems to be the new norm nowadays.

Keixa B.

Yelp
Great tap list! Good service. I love coming here for a cider! It's a chill place and it is dog friendly.

Karl R.

Yelp
shout out to the recent misogynist dropping big truck energy all over his idiotic review. if he hates Portland and "female bartenders" so much there are other places to be. gtfo. Beer Bunker is a good choice in Montavilla. the staff is friendly, great selection of beers, been a neighborhood staple for almost 10 years now?

Meg L.

Yelp
Great selection of beer and pet friendly! Lots of places to sit with eating both indoors and outdoors. Has many arcade games and a selection of beer on tap. There is a room to buy beer on the other side as well. Definitely a bar to check out in a very cute neighborhood

Sloan P.

Yelp
I identify as a female Pit/Rhodesian Ridgeback, and I am here to "shed" light on what's "dog friendly" and what isn't. 10/10 DOG FRIENDLY (very very rare) Sometimes when my humans ask if I want to go on my walk (duh) we end up here. This bottle shop is dog friendly both inside and outside, with tons of sun outside for me to lay out while my humans enjoy themselves. They even have treats sometimes! Humans can bring food (and treats) in from outside establishments and they can drink draft ciders and beers and then take some home with us so that I can go on another walk home.

Yelp
Montavilla is a cool 'hood with several places I like to frequent. Maybe my favorite of them all is Beer Bunker. Based on selection alone, Beer Bunker would get 5 stars from me. There are 24 rotating taps, and a ton of bottled options. If you can't find a beer that tickles your fancy here, you might be more of a wine person. Another plus is the board game selection Beer Bunker has on hand. I like something to do while I sip on man sodas, and Battleship and Sorry! are pretty entertaining ways to pass the time. But, you might be asking, if you like this place so much, why only four stars? I'm glad you ask... The first reason for deducting a star is the ambience. Other reviewers have mentioned that Beer Bunker doesn't have a great feel to it, and I agree. The other reason Beer Bunker misses the fifth star is the rotating taps. Having a great selection is awesome, but what happens when I love one of the beers on tap? Chances are, it'll be gone by my next visit, never to return. I need a little more stability in my life.

Ryan B.

Yelp
Most of the best conversations of my life have happened at Beer Bunker. Something about the orange light bulbs over the tables really does it for me (not sarcastic!). They always have a million beers on tap, and the staff knows their stuff. This will probably always be my local favorite.

Kathy F.

Yelp
Customer service is garbage. The woman bartender is rude and totally disrespectful. I've visited Beer Bunker several times and I've always been given attitude from her. And FYI the beer list is mediocre.

Mr B.

Yelp
It's as if someone decided to open a bar inside of a small, used furniture store, but they have 24 taps tended by a disinterested hipster.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Great selection of beer and a chill bartender. Awesome outdoor seating. They have darts and corn hole and usually have something interesting on tv.

Matt v.

Yelp
This a good place to drink a beer and be mellow. They always have a great selection to choose from. Its nice inside, and they have a cool back patio area. They let me bring my dogs. So im a fan

Sarah C.

Yelp
This is a live review on location after drinking at Roscoe's. Do you have nostalgia for your grandfather's beer memorabilia? Beer Bunker does. Do you like space when you walk around a bar? Beer Bunker does. Do you want to experience sitting in an old school office chair? Beer Bunker has a couple. Are you hungry? 7" pies priced between $8 cheese to a "40 dog" for $10. No, not a good deal. That's it. No other food. Wide selection of beer in the coolers for sale. Not as wide of a selection as Belmont Station or Beermongers but prices are decent, e.g., Ace IPA $3.29 for a 16oz can. $1 cap fee if you drink it in the bar. I like this couch. You can watch the muted TVs, too. Oh! There's darts!

Adam P.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I'm here 1-2 times a week; so it's officially a haunt since my move to the UnTropolis of PDX. That being said, it's probably my favorite place for beer close to home. Pros: knowledgeable staff, ever changing tap list, I can pack in Vietnamese Cons: sometimes too IPA centric (but the bottle selection is there for just that reason...) PS: if you're expecting the Bierstein or hipsteresqe Portland, go elsewhere (we won't miss you...)

Jason A.

Yelp
The Bunker Debunked! This place has so much going for it Prime location, smart and welcoming staff, and a pretty cool idea that should be theee place for a pint in Montavilla. I love the concept. Large warehouse tuned into a pub with loads of local taps, bar staff that knows their stuff, and plenty of bottles to go. What could be more Portland? It's the pub culture from back in the 90's and early 00's you thought was gone. Open space, outdoor seating, and in an up and coming neighborhood. I stopped in before a movie at the Academy for a crafty adult beverage. Although the enormous and well placed taplist caught my eye, I went with an IPA from the bottle shop fridge in the back. A novel concept, because for a $1 cap fee you can drink it there. Jerks and tightwads might complain, but the place has to make some money so calm down there "Mr. Skinny Jeans" So what's wrong? I watch a lot of Bar Rescue, so I must be an expert! Tapping into my inner Jon Taffer, a few things really stick out. Lack of a real food menu is the big one. They have a few basic things like pizza, but there's no real kitchen so it's more of the pizza in the oven you make at home variety. A simple kitchen setup and a menu with good quality pub snack that don't require cooking would do this place well. Chips n' fresh salsa, hummus plate with veggies, a few hearty salads, and especially a cold cuts and cheese platter to split with a group would do well here. It's not the cleanest place which bothers me. Bathrooms were really dirty, and could have been set up so much nicer. Even though it's an old warehouse, it shouldn't feel like I'm in one. With a few changes I'd be a regular here. Always on the lookout for new 'guys night' places. This place won't work, but I would still recommend trying it out for a few good beers.

Ole L.

Yelp
Just a good place to grab a. Drink. Great beers on tap. Open a tab and sit back and relax. They have a good outdoor patio that you can hang out on while you sip your beverage and chill. On a rainy day they have some decent booths to chill in. Check it out if your like a brewski.

Beerboy M.

Yelp
Meh. Weird vibe to this place, decent taplist, no friendliness or personality from staff. There are so many other, better, options around. Roscoe's is a 2 minute walk away, for example.

Heather T.

Yelp
Great beer list always & friendly staff. The Prairie Dog mini dog food cart is fantastic!!!

Mark T.

Yelp
I cant give this place a true review since I was there during a Timbers game. Recently I relocated from Chicago and we don't care all that much about soccer back there and I have learned quickly that is quite the opposite here. So any place I go to when a game is on is super quiet and has a very anxious energy. My girlfriend was actually told to be quiet by the bartender! At a bar!! While sports are on!!! We were just talking to each other!!!! The best I can say of this place is beer selection was great and from what I could tell you can even buy bottles to go. There are steel tip dart boards there. No food to order that I was aware of but it did look like you could bring outside goods in to eat. The place is bright with natural light although the over all esthetic lacked character. Did I mention the good beer list though?

Andrew D.

Yelp
Cool place with great rotating beers on tap. Have a small taste, goblet or proper pint. They have a nice wide bar, and although rather bare bones in decor, the selection and pricing makes up for it. The Winter Farmhouse Ale was hands down my favorite beer. The slections of West Coast beers for sale in the coolers was mind blowing. This is a great option for those seeking a place to try an assortment of craft draft brews.

Kyla S.

Yelp
Pros: Great beer selections on tap always, darts and outdoor space Cons: no real food selection, a little disappointed by the vibe considering it has a prime stark st location and ample opportunity to be a great hangout spot.

Julian M.

Yelp
A great selection of beers. Attentive barman. Good music, but not so loud you can't chat with friends. Local parking can be a pain. But, if you want a beer while out and about, this is an excellent spot.

Brye P.

Yelp
Speaking strictly in terms of atmosphere: If this bar was a turd it would, like, exactly the same thing. But, if it was a turd, it would at least be kinda cool. Also, their beer selection is pretty meh. So why does it exist? People in this (my) neighborhood don't have a laundry list of options.

T K.

Yelp
Great beer selection! Can't wait until the back patio is complete, but you can still enjoy it while it's in process of completion. Something to keep in mind is, their price for a growler fill is one of the more expensive places around.

William D.

Yelp
Great selection of beers on tap as well has fridges full of the bottled stuff. I like how they offer 3 sizes of beers for you to choose from on tap (taster, goblet, and a pint). This makes it a lot easier for me to try as many different beers without filling myself up on pint after pint. The place also has a good amount of boad games, a few dart boards, and a pinball machine. Theres tons of seating outside which was the main draw for us. Grab a beer and bask in the sun, or have an intense match of Scattegories by street light in the evening.

Juliana S.

Yelp
There are lots of options in Montavilla and each spot brings its own charm. This spot brings beer and cider options with chill vibe and bottled options as well. They have a great back yard for summer drinks in the sun. Plenty of screens for sports watching and really solid staff. You can bring food in from anywhere so enjoy this gem in one my favorite neighborhoods. WiFi is an added bonus.

Abbie C.

Yelp
I come here all the time. I grab a pint before a movie at Academy Theater or after dinner. Lindsay (the bartender) is friendly, knowledgeable, and has great recommendations if the 20 taps are too much to choose from. Cold case has a great selection of cans and bottles of beer and cider at a reasonable price. This is not a dinner place. Some of the other reviews talk about how it needs a kitchen, and it needs a full menu. It doesn't NEED anything. It's called Beer Bunker for a reason. Get a great meal at one of five critically acclaimed restaurants (Observatory, Redwood, Country Cat, Tanuki, Miyamoto) that are literally down the street, THEN treat yourself to a NW IPA or craft cider. The patio has just been updated and has new furniture and a fire pit. Casual and relaxed environment inside and out.

Hannalisa B.

Yelp
Love this place. They have a good rotating tap list, and always have two or three ciders on as well. They also carry many bottles that aren't as easy to come by at your average store. The vibe is always relaxed and friendly. A great spot to go for a beer if you don't want the crowded bar feel.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Bartenders always willing to help me find my beers for the evenings, lots of options. Sunshine patio!

Michelle S.

Yelp
first off my friend ordered a bottle of beer & they charged her a dollar to open it. What? Even if people do regularly get beer for take-out, there is no reason to charge a dollar for someone who's staying there. What? During the cooler/rainy weather, the setting options are limited. This isn't where I would consider going if you want to eat while you drink. There are only about five choices of food on the menu. All of this makes it a deal breaker for me. Poor Montavilla, still not living up to it's potential.

Kimberly V.

Yelp
Eh, if I had to wait out the nuclear fallout in a bunker with nothing but the beers I had at Beer Bunker, I might consider cracking open the sealed door, just to check out my other options. Because, seriously, it's summertime. Seven of the ten beers on tap are all hop-heavy IPAs and two others are porters. Throw in a few lighter option for the beer drinkers who aren't so into drinking blood. And maybe hire a server who can at least fake the "I give a shit about your good time" look, because after being poured a shorty for me and a pint for Crime Partner, we didn't see her on our side of the bar again. It's got potential. Beer Bunker is still new and probably just getting used to operation, and they have a spacious store with a modest patio to work with, not to mention lots of antique beer-related tchotchkes used for decoration and light-fixture purposes. But rather than feel forced into a doomsday scenario with nothing but beer that vaguely tastes as if it wants to choke me, I'll probably just keep going to Roscoe's, which has a diverse and delightful beer selection.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Special Ladyfriend wanted to try this place, and we brought along a crew to help decide if we liked it or not. We liked it. And I don't even like beer. We got service with a smile, which is always awesome. The place is spacious and well-decorated and has a patio and there is food. Which I ate, because like I said, I don't like beer. My ladyfriend's sampler beer platter was generous and well-curated. I tried one each and they seemed good as far as beers go. I tried some of my roomie's wine, which came in a huuuuge goblet and was serviceable - although I wouldn't recommend this place if you're a wine person, as they only have house red and house white. I actually wouldn't recommend it if you're a cocktail person either (which I am), but if you like beer (or need to please a beer-loving crowd) and you're near Stark, this is the place for you.

Hannah L.

Yelp
This is the kind of place that makes me feel safe in Portland: no matter how plain and ambiance-free the bar is, it's going to have a decent-to-good tap list. And come to think of it, an ambiance-free bar is kind of a misnomer since every spot still has its own particular feel. In this case, it's chill, informal, and scene-free in a good way. Beer Bunker has about a twelve-tap deep list (heavy on but not exclusive to the PNW/West Coast), but the best thing about it (aside from the variety of beers from a hard-to-find gruit to an IIPA) is the pour sizes. Being a small person, and being adventurous/easily bored, I prefer to have smaller tastes of more beers whenever possible, but at some bars I feel like I'm causing a problem by even asking for a half-pint (let alone a taster). Not here! They have shorty sizes for most beers (around $3), and you can do a four-beer taster tray for $5. In fact it's shorty/goblet/pint as a choice for all but the highest ABV beers. I didn't check out the wares, but the other particular feature of BB is their bottle shop. You can order bottles and cans for here, or peruse and take them to go. If the selection mirrors the tap list, it should be a fun time with some excellent surprises! Aside from the beers, BB's a nice open space - pretty plain inside, but with a generous smattering of picnic tables out back. They don't have a food menu (that I found), but on a Friday night there was a burrito cart set up outside by the picnic tables in the PDX way. BB isn't in my neighborhood so I probably won't drive across town to visit, but if you're nearby and looking for a low-key informal spot with a good tap list and no attitude, grab a seat!

Kevin N.

Yelp
They're very sweet here, and eager to make a decent impression, and there's a big part of me that roots for them (albeit given our brief conversational intersection) to lean into all that they can be and fire up those who pop in. But having spent time in similar environs in a number of different cities across the country, a few hallmarks stand out. And for that reason, I found the Beer Bunker cool but not quite up to its full potential...yet. I'm a thorough nerd for craft and boutique brews, and that clearly is a focus here. We did get the chance to poke around and score some tasty brews, and they're also a bottle shop if you wanna grab one to go. That definitely counts for something. But chemistry can be a fickle mistress, and on my stop in (and this could have totally just been me), Beer Bunker felt close but missing a little something extra. I liked what they poured and I appreciated the smiling service. Here's hoping they swing for the fences one day soon.

Christa A.

Yelp
Really great space, very friendly staff that knows a lot about their beer and awesome selection of beers. I want to come back and try their food, the ingredients used in their dishes sounded super yummy.

Jess B.

Yelp
I've been meaning to write a review for Beer Bunker for a while. Working down the street, I'd been waiting for it to open then was excited when my customers came in after hanging out on their patio for a couple of hours telling me all about their draft list. So... I've been there a handful of times so far and each experience is better than the last. The atmosphere is relaxed, open, if not a little cold with the concrete floors, high ceilings, and metal tables. The staff is friendly but not pushy and will let you taste any beer before making a selection if you're undecided like me. They have a nice bottle selection as well and you can drink them on site for a small fee. Their corking fee is reasonable if you want to bring your own wine (their options are minimal). I was thinking of a place to invite friends to meet for my birthday and was fortunate enough to have one of their staff shopping in my store. I asked how they did with groups since they're often minimally staffed (like most small businesses in Montavilla). She said if I let them know ahead of time, they would put another person on staff for the night to accommodate. Done. The event came and I was later than my friends but arrived to find them all enjoying their pints and offering suggestions of what I should order. I spent most of the next 3 hours sitting outside on the patio tables talking and laughing with friends and enjoying the not-yet-rainy Portland evening. Conversations the next day concluded that everyone enjoyed themselves and even friends who live far away will return. I'm definitely happy to have this place in the neighborhood. Looking forward to a winter where I can hunker down at the Beer Bunker with friends and a tasty draft.

Jesse D.

Yelp
A guy pulled me in off the street to check the place out. I thought it was excellent! The Stark strip has really gone down over the years, specially because of the clientel changing in the area. They have tons of beer- but no hard liqueur. I don't really drink any more but the selection was impressive and I did have sips of some of the beer. I could complain about the mislabelling of names, but that's the beer companies fault not theirs. People were playing scrabble in the large patio and it was all around a nice quiet time. I wouldn't go to often if I was a real party person, but its all around nice. I really liked the bar tender, I enjoy the movement of 30 year old male bar tenders all over as oppose to these half cute alternative female bartenders who are just awful.

Nancy K.

Yelp
Every once in a while the hubs and I stop in to see what they have going on. There is something weird about this place and I can't put my finger on it exactly but I never feel very comfortable here. They have a decent beer selection plus bottles to buy. But really, nothing else stands out about this place.

Desi S.

Yelp
We must have been here too early. A good selection of beers but the bartender looked like he was just waking up. Plus we were the only ones there. It was close to 4! The do not have food but they will let you bring food in. So, get a pizza at flying pie! Lots of attitude, good beer, I might come back in the summer. Looks like they have a nice patio.

Devin V.

Yelp
Great tap selection and huge bottled selection. The bartender always seems to be super knowledgeable about the offerings. I'm obsessed with the vanilla clove cider they've had for the last few weeks. Great little spot!

Cassandra C.

Yelp
Pretty good selection. Nice patio. To-go coolers. Cool place!

Dave S.

Yelp
Love the Beer Bunker! Portland's newest bottle shop/tap room has a tasty selection of all the goodness that Beervana has to offer. I went in one afternoon to escape the heat and found a refreshing selection of cold, local brews waiting on tap... Glass options are cool and range from small (shorty) to large (pint) with a KILLER goblet in between...$6 taster trays are also much appreciated. Adding to the already well-chosen array of beers on tap is a cooler full of bottles that reflects the efforts of many of Portland's own breweries. Bottom line: If you want to see what the Portland brew scene is all about, this is a fantastic place to do it! The ambiance is relaxed, with darts and patio in the back, and a nice, breezy feel about the place. The bartenders, or beeristas, had us cracking up with their wit and charm whilst dropping knowledge about the finer points of Portland beer. Las chicas had it goin' on and I have to say the service was a 10...nice work, ladies! Run, don't walk, to Beer Bunker and be In The Know before all your friends..grab a local, 22oz. from the cooler and belly up to the bar, you will not be disappointed!

Rena J.

Yelp
Funny enough, we came here looking for a quiet, low key spot to accommodate a friend who had a migraine. There were only a few other people inside and the music was low enough to easily use our "inside voices." The entire back wall leads to the large patio with about 6 picnic tables. Each beer I tried, I really liked. I was pleasantly surprised by the peaches and cream ale, I don't normally go for fruity, light beers but on such a warm night and after being crammed into the corner of the booth at Roscoe's, I wanted a refreshing buzz. The prices are probably a little higher than most places, a pint is closer to $6 but I do like that have 3 sizes you can choose from. There are small glasses which are around $2.50-$3, goblets $4-6, and pints $5+. It gave us an opportunity to try many beers and drink out of goblets. BTW, the goblets are deceptively smaller it looks. The glass walls on the goblet are really thick making the it look big but not holding as much beer as one may prefer. It gave me the chance to check out other beers without having to drink the entire pint. They welcome you to stay forever with their selection of nostalgic board games and darts. Apples to Apples was well maintained and the cards weren't grossly saturated with beer until after we finished playing. Cons, they close early and they could use more adult games like Taboo and Cards Against Humanity. Overall, great space for group gatherings, especially when you need space and you're not sure how many people are going to show up. The patio is pretty large with full sized picnic tables (seats 8?) which is perfect during nice weather. I look forward to coming again when I'm in the area.

Boll W.

Yelp
So much promise yet so low on delivery. I was so happy to see that there was a bottle shop opening in my neighborhood. After all, Roscoe's has very little competition. I thought that they could both feed off each other and make things good. Well....Roscoe's has certainly stepped up their service. I only wish the Beer Bunker could. 1. The food selection here is horrible. Seriously horrible. 2. The bottles are hidden in a back room. No menu to pick from. Go freeze yourself unless you have 0/0 vision and can see them from the bar. 3. The service is very bad. They usually only have two people working max and can't handle it when it gets busy. Even when it's not I've waited more than 5 minutes to get my beer ordered standing at the bar line. 4. The layout of the place is very spacious and the patio shows promise. But an embalming table? SERIOUSLY? It took them MONTHS to open and likely thought a cool name and flashy graphic would get people in there. I avoid it like the plague after giving it three tries. The service has gotten good at Roscoe's anyhow.

Raymond B.

Yelp
There's a lot to like about Beer Bunker. The owner is fairly nice, and most of the staff is fantastic. The beer selection is enjoyable. It's a very attractive interior. That said, there are serious downsides. Sometimes folks will play the music so loud you can't have a conversation, even though it's mid-afternoon and yours is literally the only table occupied. They have the obligatory TVs playing sports, which I hate. And worst of all, they don't stop folks from smoking outside the garage door in the back... right outside it. So often, the whole place smells as if customers are smoking. It's sickening. It's probably not legal. So give it a shot. Hopefully they'll improve. I hope they do.

Aaron K.

Yelp
Dropped in on a quiet thursday afternoon, great beer selection, environment, regulars, and service! This kind of bar is getting less and less common in this town, so if you feel like your bar has been overcurated, drop by here.

Marina D.

Yelp
$20 for 3 pints of beer? A little too much for this place. The life music was very strange, not impressed with service. Overall the place could be good but so many other better options are around. Just thinking about Belmont station that has the same concept but much better quality-price ratio.

Robert C.

Yelp
Good selection. Very nice staff, great outside area. They have old board games to play. Cool spot, reasonable prices. I will be back and back and back again. And they also had Gilgamesh on draft and backwoods. It's obvious they care about what they sell and don't rely on fancy bs tap handles with skulls on them.

Kelly C.

Yelp
Two beers way up!!! If you want your socks knocked off with great beer and killer personality, Beer Bunker is the place!

Phil A.

Yelp
When it comes to beer, I am an equal opportunist. With a selection ranging from a 40oz of PBR to a finely crafted micro brew, Beer Bunker caters nicely to the full beer spectrum. As a casual bar goer, I feel welcomed by the nostalgic atmosphere. The hanging lights, made of classic beer cans, hover peacefully above a bar constructed from what appears to be an old shuffleboard table. The collection of beer memorabilia, although large, does not overpower the pleasent social atmosphere. With two dartboards and a mountain of board games, Beer bunnker makes a great place to casually meet with friends as well as somewhere to have fun Over all, This place is a must-stop in the Montavilla neighborhood.

Yelp
I've been to Montavilla's newest beer bar a few times now, and I'm digging it. It's walkable from my house, so I will definitely continue to frequent the place. They've got room for improvement, but here's what's good about the BB: - Nice open space, complete with roll-up door in the back, leading out to picnic tables in the back lot. - Cool, semi-industrial aesthetic, fits in perfectly with the neighborhood. - good, entirely local/regional tap list of 12 beers - friendly staff - great playlists spinning (heavy on the Beastie Boys, though.) Here's what they could improve on: - Rotate the beers more often. I visited 3 times in the span of 2-3 weeks, and it seemed like only one or two of the tap choices had changed. Hopefully as business picks up, the kegs will blow faster and they can rotate in more variety. - Hire only staff who are knowledgeable about beer. Only one of the bar staff I've talked to thus far seems to know much about beer. The others? well, I'm gonna be charitable and say that they must have been hired for their pretty personalities. - Better food choices. Pita pizzas are too time-consuming and heavy...they would be better off offering more snacky foods that are lighter and less labor-intensive, especially during the summer. - Utilize the huge space better. The bottle-cooler side of the shop could probably hold twice as much cooler square-footage as it does now. This is Portland, you need to step up your game if you think you're gonna draw any business away from places like Belmont Station.
