Beer Karma is one of the best spots for craft beer in NYC. This cozy bar has it all: a top-notch selection, a welcoming vibe, and some of the best staff in town. The small staff: Sergio and Emily and owner Dan (who's often behind the bar himself) are amazing. They know their beer inside out and somehow seem to remember everyone's names. The bar hosts weekly 5k-ish runs on Monday nights featuring awesome beer specials and free pizza for all runners. The regular crew is everyone from avid marathoners training for their next race to casual joggers. The draft beer list is fantastic and diverse, featuring everything from hype IPAs to less common gems like dark milds, obscure-style lagers, and cream ales. They’re always rotating in something new and different, so there’s always a reason to come back. Their coolers are also packed with the latest cans from NYC area breweries, available to enjoy at the bar or take home. Plus, if you’re not drinking alcohol, they have a great range of non-alcoholic options like hopped seltzers, Liquid Death cans, and non-alcoholic beers. You can bring your own food and the Birria-Landia food truck across the street is a must if you're in the area. On top of all that, the prices are unbeatable. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Nice little bar with a good selection, some board games, and a well stocked beer fridge with cans to go. The TV is a bit odd and doesn't really fit in.

They're actually open during COVID, so support your local beer provider! Their opening hours right now are 4PM-7PM. Beers, pints, cans, and growlers to go. They have a counter at the door so it makes it pretty easy. You don't have to go inside.

So friendly and chill. It’s almost like the chill room of Rocka Rolla for when you need a break with great beers.

Walked into this place and was completely ignored by the bartender. No greeting, no acknowledgment. I sat at the breakfast bar and waited while the bartender spoke to a white customer and then proceeded to scroll on his phone, actively ignoring me and my friend as we patiently waited for him to acknowledge us. We're both Black women. He refused to look at us. We left, all we wanted was a quick drink and what we got was a reminder that not all customers are welcome everywhere. I didn't want to add a star but Yelp forces you to add one.

Came here with a page out of the Brooklyn Pub Pass. Beer Karma is a beer shop with a bar and amazing hospitality. They have a fridge stocked with some local favorites, and some taps that have some good choices as well. The bar is small and intimate, forcing you to become the best of friends with the bartender and other patrons. If you choose to remain amongst your own company, they have a table across from the bar that's more private. The bartender last night was super cool and friendly. He seemed to be very close with some of the regulars. He even provided cookies for us to munch on! Beer Karma does not serve food but they allow you to bring in your own. You have some great eateries to choose from in the area. Their fridge is more much diverse than their taps. Last night they mainly had sours and IPAs. However, I got to try the Allagash Map 40 from their tap list which knocked my socks off! Sometimes being a little adventurous can be very rewarding! The bad news is they do not do beer flights. I had such a great time last night that I know I have to return whenever I'm in Williamsburg!

Beer Karma is the best store to buy local and craft beer in Williamsburg. Brooklyn is home to some amazing breweries: Grimm, Interboro, Other Half, Threes, Talea, Finback, Strong Rope, Wild East, Folksbier, etc etc. If you can't be bothered to pick up from their taprooms, Beer Karma's got you covered. Not only that, follow on Twitter for a behind-the-scenes look at running a beer store, plus frequent updates on new releases and market trends. If you don't know what to order, the staff will patiently point you in the right direction. Bring a tote bag and recycle those rigid 4-pack holders.

Small beer outpost with draft and take out options. Pretty good usage of the space with beer lining the walls, bar seating in the middle, and a table up front. Not too many people inside Saturday afternoon, so was able to quickly order a drink at the bar. Tap list is disappointingly small (bottle/can selection is significantly larger), with beers ranging from $7-12 depending on type and size. Other notes - corkage fee of $3 and bags of chips for $1. Not much else to say about this spot; the bartender is friendly and seems that locals stop by here periodically. Good for a grab and go as it could get busy during evening/night.

I'd been following these guys on Instagram ever since they opened. They always have interesting and unique beers. Finally got a chance to stop by. Due to the current situation, it was only sidewalk seating. I grabbed a couple of cans and a bottle to go. Prices are okay, not great. But you pay for quality, and the convenience of this kind of selection all in one place!

What's not to like. Good beer, friendly staff. My only comment is that there aren't many seats but we made it work. One of the better craft beer spots in the area.

A must every Football Sunday. Literally live around the corner and the guy that works there is so nice! Super warm and welcoming. Originally checked this spot out on a random evening to pick up unique brews. Now we send all of our friends that way and pick up a few for ourselves too. Great addition to the neighborhood!

If you're looking for great, craft beer options, then look no further than Beer Karma. They constantly have new beers on tap as well as a plethora of canned and bottled options in their coolers. If you want to sit down a drink a beer, you can! If you want to run in and grab a couple brews to go, you can! Not to mention the owner is a super solid guy who is happy to answer any questions you have. Go for the variety, go to pick up some beer for the game, go to support a small business, whatever you do, go!

This place is like going to your parents living room, but only if your parents had excellent taste in beer. It's very intimate, the selection of sours and IPAs is impressive and it's got a very good vibe. You should come here when you want to have a chill hang out while drinking great beers among other like-minded people. Shout out to the scary clown painting collection in the bathroom! Love this semi-prank.

Best beer bar in Brooklyn. - Fantastic can selection. Fresh beers coming in every day from a wide array of great local breweries. - Superb draft lineups. Great mix of spurs and pilsners and hop bomb IPAs. - There are subtle things that make you appreciate Beer Karma. You see the way the owner cleans the taps with distilled water and carefully tends to every pour in quality glassware and you can tell he cares about beer and the customer experience. - There's a great group of people that go running from here every Monday at 7p. Drinks specials and pizza await everyone coming back. This is one of few places I've considered myself a regular and it's because there's a great group of other regulars that makes coming here an easy decision.

This place smells like BO. The bartender was very nice. The Pilsner was a little bit better than ok. Third of it was foam though. But still: this place smells like BO. Bro den lighting, if you're down with that. One star away from IKEA furniture decor. WTF is Beer Runners Unite all about? Can't straight ppl just stick to 4H and their intramural flag football league? Why do you need a T-shirt with a specialized logo? And still: this place smells like BO.

Phenomenal beers, great atmosphere! I recommend "It's Educational", amazing starter beer! Bartender is great and will deliver excellent recommendations.

Always great selection on tap, chill place and knowledgeable about craft beer. My favorite part is the to go cooler, but grab what you like because they won't last.

Great bar. Difficult to come here and not have a very good time. Beer selection is amongst the best you'll find in NYC, always changing, and always interesting. Small counter seating area fosters a family-like atmosphere amongst regulars. Very friendly owner. Bar has a flat screen TV as well, which is extremely unusual for a good beer-bar, and much appreciated in the event there's a big game going on. Beer Karma is well worth going to on its own, or as part of a bar crawl with other nearby beer bars.

Dan and staff curate a fine selection beer from all over the Northeast. With frequent tap and bottle rotations, you can always find a new beer to try. If you aren't well versed in the craft brew game, just ask a few questions and they can point you in the right direction. On Mondays, we run then drink delicious brew, then eat pizza - Josh, I presume that is when you visited. Join the fun.

The bet place in the summer day to come and get a glass of nice cold beer. The best place. Of course recommend to everyone.

Great place for a nice, relaxing beer. Our bartender was nice, chatted us up without being in our face, and had excellent knowledge of beer. Definitely recommend going to this place if you have some time before dinner.

It's bright in here. Fantastic natural light, 8 taps, and a biiig fridge of rare and local beers. Really good stuff.

Incredible variety of beers on tap to choose from. I had the Map40 and it was delicious. You can also take home a catalog of delicious beers stocked in the refrigerated section. Staff is super friendly and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Definitely a must visit in Brooklyn

Great spot for enjoying a variety of craft beers. The space is clean, bright, and inviting and the bartender and owner, Dan, is highly knowledgeable about all things beer related. He recommended two different beers based off my description of what I like/don't like and he was spot on with both. I also really appreciate how meticulously clean the bar is. You can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in maintaining the space and the quality of the beer reflects that. If you're looking for a chill bar to try great beer I'd highly recommend coming here.

Last night my friend and I stopped in here for a drink. I initially asked for and IPA on draft and the bartender served me his recommended IPA. It was light and citrusy & I was expecting something hoppy. I asked him about it and he said - an IPA is supposed to be light and citrusy. I said I was expecting something hoppy like lagunitas & ballast point (which I like). He replied that those were corporate brewries ( Lagunitas is owned by Heineken & ballast point by Constellation) and he doesn't recognize them as legitimate. I said - fine what about Heady Topper - thats a good IPA. He said they just had Heady Topper in 2 weeks ago - so I was late on that one. I said could I get something else instead of what he had poured me and he gave me a different beer and wanted to charge me for that too. I said no thanks to that and he said - get out of my bar, its closed. I took my original beer and sat with my friend for a bit longer before leaving. I didnt finish my beer and we left. My friend also ordered a beer that he was unsatisfied with and we tipped him $6 on the 2 drinks prior to him being so rude.

Great service, beer selection, prices, and atmosphere. Dan, the owner, knows his stuff and is always open to a good beer conversation. It's amazing how knowledgeable he is on the brewing process and flavors each beer has. Also awesome that he has cans for sale in the refrigerated section.

walked by this place one day and couldn't wait to stop by! finally did and did not disappoint. not an uptight beer bar, and the owner is down to earth and knows his beer. definitely coming back!
