Do not come here if you expect kind or even remotely polite employees. We visited at 2 PM on a Saturday, and the place was completely empty except for our group of 16 adults (comprised of parents and grandparents) and 9 kids. Fresh from a birthday party at Chelsea Piers, we had a few (6) balloons with us. Despite being the only customers, the employees were incredibly rude. They clearly did not want children there, even though the establishment allows them. Their hostility was apparent from the start. They gave us curt, one-word answers when we asked about drinks and displayed the worst attitudes imaginable. They mentioned having had issues with kids before and made it clear that they didn't want us there due to past experiences. Their behavior was unacceptable, making everyone in our group uncomfortable. Avoid this place at all costs!!!! The service is abysmal, and the staff is the rudest I've ever encountered. It's shocking that such an unfriendly establishment exists in the otherwise family-friendly Brooklyn neighborhood. They should seriously consider relocating. I have a video of how chill our kids were being while these nasty employees just huffed and puffed around us the entire time but can’t post it. We left shortly after and went to BierWax just a block away who warmly welcomed kids and were so incredibly kind!!! Go there instead!

They were playing late 90/ early 2000s jazzy boom bap hip hop. It was rustic yet urban. Lots of brass and and wood fittings and furnishings. Except for one wobbly table, great place to be.

This is a nice place to come with a group or even a quick date. They have a great beer selection as well as good ciders on draft. Great service and very clean bathrooms. I can’t wait to come back here and show some of my beer loving friends!

We are group of 4 and walk on try to get some beers around 4:20, my husband and I were sit on the high table and my son and his friend was at the bar try to get us some drinks, they were wait at the bar and get to get the bartender’s attention for good 15 min. The bartender just complete ignore my son and his friend and asking the order for the people come after them for their order…we walked out out the place and won’t come back again and will tell our friends live around here don’t go to this bar ever. Hope the manager managing the bar read this email or anyone who are not white lives around here, don’t walk into this bar ever. They don’t deserve the money from people like us.

I went to this bar to watch the Euro 2024 finals champion match and I am genuinely confused why they promoted the game on their social media. I’m not sure why this bar was promoting the game when they do not have TV screens and you can barely see the game from the projectors due to the sun that beams through the large windows (photo for reference). Knowing that the game would bring in a lot of traffic, there was only 1 bartender working and a bus boy. The service was horrible. There were at least 100 customers there and everyone needed to make a long line in order to get a drink. Aside from that, they allow young children and pets inside which I’m surprised since this is a bar and not a restaurant. I don’t know why there isn’t any proper staffing here, considering this bar has been on Vanderbilt for 4 years. I hope they improve as they have a great space and potential to bring in a lot of customers, but this seems to be a recurring issue each time I’ve come these past 3 years.

My friends and I have been coming here monthly for almost 2 years and the previous bartender who was here on Thursday nights was so kind and welcoming. The lady there today was the rudest bartender I have ever encountered anywhere. I see from other recent reviews that this is not an isolated experience. I hope Beer Street South will revisit their staffing choices and bring back the warm, welcoming vibe we used to know them for.

This place is the best. Went to view 2024 Euro cup and it was bumping - the best vibe always. The bartenders are heroes, dealing with the unruly masses with professionalism and patience while keeping the vibe cheerful. Not easy under that much obvious pressure. Highly recommend for a calmer night too but consider it for the next match if you’re looking for a viewing spot!

We hosted a birthday party for a large group (adults and children ) with catered food, and they were wonderful. The bartenders were very friendly and the tap list is consistently great. Would recommend!

Service was very poor and bartenders were very hostile and unfriendly. One bartender (short and in hat) was borderline trying to fight patrons at 5pm. Bar was very dirty and disorganized. Much better options around the neighborhood.

This spacious, elevated brewpub in prospect heights was a really pleasant find! The interior is really well done -- lots of space, but they preserve a warm overall vibe even with the many, many seating options spread throughout the large room. The bartenders were great, really knowledgeable about beer and very focused on quality. They even checked each glass before every pour, gotta love that attention to detail. The beer list is impressive, with plenty of options on tap. Definitely something for everyone in terms of variety of styles. It was a bit pricey, at $13 a pour for a nicer local beer, but still a good spot for a few good beers with a group!

I came to the place as I was waiting for a reservation nearby. It was quiet on a early Sunday so it was on the emptier side. Plus it was an open streets day so people were enjoying the relatively warm day. The inside felt like it had air conditioning or at least cooler than outside which I appreciated. The food menu was light in terms of options but definitely more filling in options. I had the glizzard of Oz (I was barely able to say that out loud with a straight face) only since my dinner reservation was coming up but I hadn't eaten anything prior. It was a good hot dog and I was fine paying $6 for it. They don't always have food available so I came at time where they did In terms of the beer and alcohol options, I had a fine time. The beer options on tap rotate and the bartender helped me determine what I should try. I knew I wanted a white beer that is on the fruity side. The beer I had was a pride release (wild East "pack of lions"). And it was pretty good for me and my tastes. They don't do free samples but have cheap 4 oz pours which is fine to me especially if you want to taste a bunch. I switched over to a 4 oz of cider (sundstrom). They had other options like sake, wine and kombucha but I wanted something with small pours for my first time. Overall, the vibes and aesthetics of the place make it fine for a sweet date night or hanging out with friends. I think it is more focused on the beer than other beer halls that have sports. This is a cute option on Vanderbilt Ave.

Great place to drink top quality beer. Highly recommended. I like that they prioritize beer from NY breweries.

FYI- Now an adult only place! Went here as a quick place to get a drink while some friends and I fed our kids dinner. I had been told this was a kid friendly place. My son ate for a bit and then started walking around the restaurant and the bartender told us to control our kids and they can't walk around. I did my best to keep my 2 year old close to our table and finish up quickly, but the bartender was incredibly rude and made it a lot worse by being so not understanding of the situation. He said this isn't a daycare, you should take your kids to a playground. Do you think I like the experience of trying to get my son to sit still? Where do you think we just came from? I also don't want my son to be disturbing the three other people in there getting a drink on a Monday at 6pm! Anyway, could not believe how rude the bartender was to us, would not recommend going here with or without kids, but especially not if you have kids.

Really neat spot - we came on a Friday night while waiting for our dinner reservation and really enjoyed it! We tried quite a few beers (love when places do smaller pours to build your own flight) and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Interstellar was playing on the projector.

My friend brought around 80-90 people there today (a rainy Saturday around noon). She made reservations with the owner for her kid's birthday party and had an open bar for a few hours. A magician came and I asked the bartender to turn down the music at the magician's request. He barely touched the volume and responded that it wasn't a buy out party. There was only one couple there that wasn't with our group. The music was unnecessarily loud. After paying a large tab, my friend asked him if he could at least turn the music down for happy birthday which he obliged. The bartender gave off a very bad vibe. Later I learned that no one from management told him about the party, but this wasn't my friend's fault and they brought in significant business on a day that the bar would be basically empty. I hope this doesn't happen to another family.

The guy who is the bar back is the most miserable obnoxious individual in the world. We came into this place on Saturday with kids and he was so rude. He said we had too many strollers and that he didn't want the kids running around (the kids were all sitting and watching movies). When we gave the kids snacks he came up to us and said "who is going to clean this up?!?" (Obviously we were going to clean up) ... the table next to us broke a glass and he refused to clean it up... He kept saying that the place was going to be get really busy ... it was not busy at all... they had that guy working and two bartenders... you aren't busy... you simply need to staff more people... go to The Bilt bar across the street...they are cool about kids, have sports and some great wings.

Nice and large beer place! They had about 12 or so various beers on tap. I had a hazy IPA, which was decently good. Expect NYC pricing, because that's what you'll get.

This place has quite a collection of local craft beers on tap available, but sadly I'm not a huge fan of beer, so I decided I'd go for one of their ciders, although I wasn't sure which one to try. When I asked about them, the bartender warned me that they're not your typical cider, so he graciously let me try one even though he said he normally doesn't give samples. I wasn't a huge fan, so I asked if I could try the other cider, to which he looked a bit upset, but did allow me to sample it. In the end I chose the Anxo cider to get a glass of. I liked the vibes in the place, including the decor in the bathrooms. Always a fan of having a sink outside of single stall bathrooms too. I liked the music that was playing while we were here too, so overall I'd come back.

Hi Jenny C from Berkeley, CA. I'm sorry you had a bad experience because your "3-yr old, who wandered into the exit-way amid a bad meltdown" was turned away from the bar. Imagine for a minute what would have happened if the bartender had acted different and had let your "super-irritating" screaming child into the bar IF other patrons were present. You would've left a 5-star review for the establishment being so accommodating, and everyone else present would've left a 1-star review because of YOUR screaming 3-year old child. From an outsider's perspective, this is definitely a Karen moment... That said... I stopped by Beer Street South this evening to watch Game 6 of the NBA Finals. It was not crowded at all and there were plenty of tables to sit around at. When the fourth-quarter came about, the bartender was more than happy to change the house speakers from music to the game audio. Nice! There's a huge beer selection here, so no matter what your beer preference is, you're certain to find something you like. I ordered a carafe of the Finback "Banana Drip" Imperial Stout -- notes of bananas, coffee, vanilla, and peanut butter, and it's honestly one of my favorite beers to date. 10/10 would order again. If you're a beer lover, do yourself a favor and stop by here!

Wide selection of local craft beers on tap. When we were there, they had Grimm, Interboro, Kills Boro, Equilibrium, Finback, Other Half, Transmitter, KCBC, Drowned Lands, Evil Twin, Greenpoint, and more. One of the best local selections around. Lots of whiskeys and spirits too plus wine and cocktails on tap. Space is huge. Plenty of room for very large groups along with some more secluded knocks for those seeking an intimate setting. Four gender neutral restrooms. Plus a communal sink located outside the toilet so you don't need to go inside the toilet to wash up. Bartenders were quite friendly and it looked like there's were already some regulars even though the bar is relatively new. Service was quick.

Large new beer spot on the bottom floor of a residential complex doling out a considerable selection of brews as well as spirits. Still plenty of seating both inside and out with an immediate safety check as soon as you walk in. Was able to snag seating by the windows and came to the front bar area to order. Beers on draft range from $8-10 for 14-16oz, and $4-9 for 3-8oz. Good variety overall in the beers, and if that's not to your fancy, there are plenty more in can/bottle as well as a full bar of items. Only drawback was there was only one red wine option (which was chilled). For food, got some obligatory peanut mix that was fine to pair with the drinks. Service here started off well, but took more time as the night went on. Nice spot for a hangout in the area, seems like you can bring food in as well.

Covid Review! We sat inside but there was outdoor seating too. We were temped as soon as we walked in and then sat around the periphery of the restaurant. No tables in the middle were sat. We had plenty of space and privacy The bartender and server were both nice. They casually mentioned snacks and later it seemed like a food order of some kind was necessary and they recommended the spanish nuts. They are terrible haha. Most of them arent crunchy and they are loaded with cajun spices but they did not complement our drinks. I suggest grabbing a food menu or for the restaurant to stop serving that all together. But it was a small detail so i will not be removing a star. The server was knowledgeable about the selection. A lot of local brews and interesting wines as well. Overall pleased with the quiet nice out during these trying times. Oh tax is removed on cash payments. And they opened a month before covid! Support these unlucky business owners!

Ended Thursday night at Beer Street South. They had an interesting beer list, but I could not get around the strange space. It was too large and cavernous for a beer bar, which made it feel cold and unfriendly. Quality: Beer Street South had an interesting beer list, providing some unique and diverse selections of draft beers. They focused around New York area breweries, but placed emphasis on sours and dark beers. I went with a Logsdon Baltic Porter, a rich dark ale, which was a nice nightcap. I also got a few sips of a Wild East Nitro Oatmeal Stout. Quantity: Tough to see it on the beer list, but they offer full, half, and taste size pours. Value: $9-$12 for Draft Pours. Ambiance: Beer Street South is the second location of this beer bar, this one located in Prospect Heights. It is a much larger space than the original and I feel like it takes a lot of the coziness away from it. This massive space feels more like where there should be a bank or a Chipotle. Huge windows and high ceilings and a space that seems like it will rarely fill up. Small details like the array of candles and copper piping added a little personality, but still it felt very manufactured. Crowd: A small crowd, but the size of the space made it feel empty. Service: The bartender was super energetic, but seemed upset when I didn't take his advice about an alternative to a kicked beer. Parking: Tough to find street parking nearby.

Hot new beer bar on Vanderbilt. As you'd expect the selection is phenomenal, and extensive. The space itself is airy, and the music is super chill. I can only imagine how popular thus place is going to be in the near future, it's perfect for a group. Also it's proximity to Barclays is decent, and I'd absolutely recommend this place for a higher end pregame spot. The prices are reasonable for the high end beers they're serving, but I hope you like beer, because anything other than that gets pricy quick (the half of cider was 11$). It's byo food, which I love, so that's a huge plus in my book. Come here with a group, stay for high end beer

A great bar in the neighborhood! I came on a Tuesday evening after a long day at work and really enjoyed it! They have various beers on tap. I had an IPA, loved it. The staff is friendly.

Came here for a quick outdoor beer during a warm weekend in October, randomly. The beers on tap were great and the setting was nice, but the indoors looked even nicer -- I really liked the dark interior and steel seating. However, the service was just a bit...unpleasant. The bald bartender was uninterested and condescending the entire time, so, just a fair warning to keep it quick and not try to strike up any conversation.

Everything you'd want in a craft beer bar. Lots of open seating, tons of rotating taps and even a full bar for those that don't want beer.

Cool place. Like the decor and layout. Was a bit chilly inside, but they have big windows so may have been less insulated. Huge variety of beers. Also have cocktails and wine. Nice to grab a beer.

Brand new beer bar!!! They have an amazing selection of beers (including a lot of local ones). All sort of styles, including sours (which I am still obsessed with). I had some Hudson Valley, TRVE, and some other craft scene favorites. You can do flights, half pours, or full size pints. For the nicer stuff, the prices can get up there, so I recommend doing a flight and trying some things out. They seem to have a fully stocked liquor bar, but not sure if they're serving yet. They have a few wines available as well, but the main attraction is the beer. The space is also pretty big, so it's great for groups. Plus it's BYOF!

After making condescending comments about my daughter from behind the bar to me on the sidewalk, the bartender basically shut the door on my 3-yr old, who wandered into the exit-way amid a bad meltdown. As the parent of a toddler and resident of this neighborhood since pre-kids + before this bar existed, I totally get that a screaming child is super-irritating (and the last thing I want to hear when I'm out for a beer w/friends). But also, let's be honest, the bar was already completely empty inside. As a business operating in prospect hts, you should know your audience, and that includes neighbors w/young kids passing by on the way home from preschool, who might be having a tough minute. Instead of going out of your way to make them feel like trespassers in their own neighborhood, maybe next time, try to lose the attitude and show a little basic respect. Until then, this place will never have my business.

For beer lovers this is a crazy spot. It's Beer week. Suarez Brothers is a hard to find beer and they are featuring 14 varieties which is insane, basically 2 max is what you will find at the best beer bars. The space is designed way better than the neighborhood so this is great. Christian the bartender gets it, service, space etc. Expect this place too get too busy, maybe a bit uncomfortable. If it's slammed don't buy a 4oz beer and think you can walk back and get immediate service when it's busy. Go into this knowing yes it may be busy, it might take 5-10min to get a drink when it's full and order accordingly. If you don't and you think it's all about you when it's busy you might be unhappy.

This spot is brand new, it's only been open a few weeks. I love the space, it's big, wide open with massive windows looking out on Vanderbilt. They have a great selection of amazing craft brews and a full bar. I saw a couple of tired hands brews on the menu which are hard to find, with a price to match the rarity. The owner and bartenders are super helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Looking forward to coming back.

I went feeling discriminated against, they want to serve certain types of people . I went in the doors wearing a mask, the bar tender and host was extremely rude and kept taking videos and picture of my friend and I . It was extremely invasive. Stay away from this place.

We've been enjoying the beers here during outdoor dining open streets on Vanderbilt ave. Great selection and service. I appreciate them selling pb and j for only $1 for the required food purchase requirement. Definitely check this place out!

Very nice wine and beer, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Asked for a menu to be pointed by the bar tender to behind the bar at the chalk menu and told to read it, then eventually to be handed a menu which is what I asked for to begin with. My husband ordered a beer and was informed immediately they don't do tastings, having not even asked for one!!! The final straw was to be asked what size beer and not even told what was available. Windows were also filthy, so the lovely view of Atlantic Avenue / Vanderbilt was a pure blur! For a new bar in the neighbourhood it really has not made a good impression on me! I will not be returning!!

Went there once and wasn't fond of the attitude. They don't give samples, what's up with that. I explained that every beer bar in Brooklyn and beyond I know offers a sample when they have lots of taps.
