The Best Dumplings In London

"Seeing a stack of bamboo steamers appear before you at Beijing Dumpling is sort of like Christmas morning for adults with a real thing for pork xiao long bao. This unassuming little spot on Lisle Street is making big-deal dumplings. We’re talking seafood dumplings that are salty and sippable, pan fried pork dumplings that are totally simple in the best possible way, and those spicy soup dumplings that we’ll always return to. And the best part is this place is super affordable." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

The 7 Best Restaurants Near The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery - London - The Infatuation

"Underwhelmed by everything you saw at the galleries? Head to Beijing Dumpling. There are plenty of great restaurants in London's Chinatown, but seeing a stack of bamboo steamers appear before you at Beijing Dumpling is sort of like Christmas morning for adults with a real thing for pork xiao long bao. This little spot on Lisle Street makes big-deal dumplings. Beijing Dumpling Review - Chinatown - London - The Infatuation

"Sure, doing a little hot yoga or taking a lot of anything people offer you inside XOYO, will definitely get your heart rate going. But trust us, so will seeing a stack of bamboo steamers coming your way at Beijing Dumpling. As soon as you walk into this casual little spot on Lisle Street you'll want to place an order of pork xiao long bao, huge seafood dumplings, and bright green vegetable wontons. It’s always a good idea to go heavy on the dumplings here, but they also serve things like dan dan noodles, rice dishes, and some excellent garlic prawns. photo credit: Giulia Verdinelli" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Google
The food was authentic and full of flavour. Everything was on the table within 10 minutes, which was impressive. However, some of the staff didn’t seem very welcoming — it felt like they knew people would come regardless, so they didn’t bother much with hospitality. While the food was absolutely on point, the service could definitely use some improvement.

Google
Great food, dour service and an atmosphere that could be much much better. The prices are fair for the quantity. They serve fast, but look very grumpy. There is no draft beer so make do with bottles or cans. They variety of dumplings should be able to satisfy most cravings. Even vegetarians will find dumplings that they like, and can eat.

Google
A small wait of 5 minutes. Service was quick once we got inside. Food was delicious. Came out quickly, the servers checked with my allergies and were able to make something I wanted gluten free which was great.

Google
I have visited this restaurant several times and most of the time I had a good experience. Recommendation: Seafood noodles, salt and pepper squid, sp seafood rice, soft shell crab were really good and I enjoyed it. I am not sure about the supreme seafood dumpling, dumplings in soup and Szechuan Dan Dan Noodle. It could be cultural preferences as well but for me they were something that I would never order again. Despite that, it is an affordable restaurant in Chinatown with good food and fast service . I have seen queues on multiple occasions.

Google
Strongly recommend for traditional Chinese steamed dumplings, and other great stuff. We went for lunch here, at a busy day, it is walk in only, so depending on the day, make sure you are ready for a queue. The line is not that long, and it moves steadily so it’s not an issue at all. Once you are there, it feels like you stepped into a place in China, traditional, basic, but very authentic. Dumplings are. The main dish, nut I recommend trying other sides and of course the tea. Will definitely come back. PS - the best dumplings are the ones with the soup inside. Pork, those are to die for. And you can take a peak of how they make them. Very affordable.

Google
Pretty authentic food in Chinatown! Generous portion sizes, and good wok hei in all the dishes. We ordered the mixed seafood ho fun, crispy seafood noodles (this was top tier), fried fish slices in sweet and sour/peking (?) sauce, pork and crab XLB, pan fried dumplings, and salt and pepper tofu. I would definitely recommend the noodle dishes, and surprisingly the fried fish slices - the sauce they were coated in was perfectly sweet and tangy. But next time we’ll ask for the sauce separate, as the fish gets soggy really quickly otherwise. The salt and pepper tofu was excellent value for the amount that you get. We have had better XLB elsewhere, but these were passable. The dough is a bit thicker than normal, and the filling is not as soupy as I’d like but taste wise they were completely fine. Same with the pan fried dumplings, a little too thick, but since these were pan fried it was understandable. Service was efficient and friendly. They even offer to top up your tap water when you’re running low (this is a first for a Chinese restaurant lol). FYI we over ordered but they provide takeaway boxes so you don’t have to waste food :) When we left, there was a pretty long queue so make sure you book ahead!

Google
Another restaurant with long queues. It is a no nonsense venue with a no nonsense service. In general the food has good flavor. Although the dumplings are very doughy but with a tasty filling

Google
Good restaurant which seems really authentic, we stood around 30 minutes in line on a Saturday. We only had different dumplings since we love them. The taste was great although our big favorite definitely were the pan fried dumplings. We can recommend the place.

Yelp
We came here as soon as it was opening as there was ALREADY a line. That had me thinking that maybe this place was a tourist trap but a lot of locals were in line too! After trying the fofood it makes sense why the line was forming prior to it opening for the day. The food was sooo yummy. I would definitely come back. I wish I ordered more dumplings because they were the star of the show. Be prepared to wait if you come here though. As we left the line was much longer than it was compared to when we were coming in.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice yummy Chinese hole in wall joint. Great food and lots of people know it. Long waiting lines if you are here during meal times. The supreme dumpling is only served during lunchtime is pretty good. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Don't let the crowds outside deceive you. Everything ordered had zero taste. Tom Yom soup- bland. I asked if they had hot chili pepper to add to the soup, and made the mistake of not saying chili oil, so the waitress said no, they don't have that. Thought maybe it was an English thing, until I saw little dishes of it on other tables. Dim Sum was tasteless Garlic Shrimp was actually shrimp in white sauce with way too many chopped onions. Said it was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't even close. Walk past this one.... And fast
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with some friends and we had such a great time! We devoured the food and everything was good. The dumplings were the best part though. They were so fresh and the filling in all of them were delicious. The service was great and the restaurant was very cute. We were at a table in the back and thought it was the perfect spot. I will definitely go back here!

Yelp
The food was amazing and so flavorful. Their service was on point and way better than other Chinese restaurants around the place in London. The ambiance was very cozy and lively. I would 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Ran into this restaurant by accident walking around London Chinatown. This one is not on the main drag but it's a great place to get Chinese dumplings and preened good Chinese dishes. Ladies make dumplings fresh by the window next entrance. We had to wait in line, but were quickly seated. Plenty of seatings to accommodate customers. Fast service and friendly. Price is much better than those on the main street.

Yelp
Well well well!!! Definate a good spot to visit if you are Chinatown London. It is a nice cozy place. It has a downstairs and upstairs. As you walk in, you get the full experience of traditional dumpling place. The menu was very big and they covered a wide range of traditional chinese food. The food was very good, loved it. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Definitely will return to the spot and recommend to anyone looking for some good chinese food in London.

Sam M.

Yelp
Wish I visited at the start of my trip and not last day, else would definitely had more meals there! Literally the best hot and sour soup I've had in my life. There was a line but it moved quickly, got in after 20 mins. Excellent food and reasonable prices! Amazing balance of flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
This was a great choice. We had a large party of people and they took care of us. Drinks and steamed dumplings were a good fit. We sat outside along the walkway and although it was cold was bearable. Will go back again. All of the dumplings, sui mai and other dim sum type foods were very good and went fast.

Wolfgang S.

Yelp
The crab and porkmeat soup dumplings were the worst I have ever eaten. The dough was too hard and almost no soup inside. The chicken Sate was just deep fried in oil and not much better. All in all a completely overrated joint which is definitely not worth waiting 30 minutes outside

Vanessa D.

Yelp
The foooooooood!!!!!!!!! Was so magical, that I'm home in California dream of the noodles and spicy pork dumplings!!! The service was perfect and had a local guy let us try his dish because the food is so good!
google avatar

Yelp
Great dumplings and XLB in London! We went here for dinner before our theatre experience and the food was prepared super quickly. We were in and out in 45 minutes and didn't miss a beat for our showing. The XLB was very different than I was used to. The skin was thick and the inside was super meaty. The price point is also exceptionally well. We were too full to finish everything we ordered. Really appreciated the quick service here and delicious food with such fast turn-around time.
google avatar

Yelp
Get there before 12 for lunch to beat the lunch rush and you'll have plenty of seats. The xiao long baos were filled with good soup and meats. Did not break when lifted up with shopsticks. Good signs when eating these!
google avatar

Yelp
Glad we listened to Yelp and had dinner here. Don't be scared off by a line outside, it moves quick. Food was spot on good. No frills decor inside, but the food, service and the amazing low prices on the final check was perfect. I want to come again before I leave London.

Yelp
Solid spot for go to classic chinese dishes such as wontons, noodles, hot and sour soup and of course dumplings. This spot features the massive soup dumpling that's drunk through a straw but they only make a few per day so be sure to claim yours early! Food is pretty good for a reasonable price. Nothing was super mind blowing (especially the dumplings) but they weren't bad. There tends to be a wait to dine in at this location and they have other classics such as dimsum options.

Yelp
I ordered crab & pork xiao long bao, fiery dumplings soup and honey garlic ribs and my friend ordered shredded beef in basket and egg fried rice. The xiao long bao was quite dry to me and went cold within 5mins. The fiery dumpling was bland and the soup broth mainly tasted like spring onions. My friend said her food lacked flavour and tasted too "fresh" like that ingredients hasn't had time to mix together to pickup the aromatics. I absolutely loved the honey garlic ribs, the sauce and tenderness of the ribs was amazing. If I go there again that's all I would get honestly
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
Cheap & easy bao, it was good and only like 6 pounds for an order of bao. I would come back to try more food. Also, the sides of rice were a fantastic sized portion.

Yelp
Overall, the food and service were good. I didn't have a negative experience, but it wasn't anything to write home about either (not to say the food was bad). In fact, I quite enjoyed my lunch in London very much. Coming from a Chinese family who eats homemade meals every night, I can safely say this restaurant would be a nice place to stop by for a meal if you don't feel like cooking, but not particularly phenomenal or nostalgic like my grandfather's recipes. First, we had gotten the xia long bao, which to be honest, were not my favorite part of the meal. The issue with xia long bao is that there are many other places with really good soup dumplings that it is either a hit or a miss. However, they were decent and plenty delicious. We had also gotten Mapo Tofu. It is one of my favorite tofu dishes, but it is often made wrong. Props to Beijing Dumpling House for making it how it is supposed to be made. They did not make it corn starchy or disgustingly goopy, which I greatly appreciated. However, I would personally add a bit more of a bold flavor to it. In my opinion, Mapo Tofu needs an extra kick to really put it over the top. I am not a spice or meat fanatic by any means, but this dish really does benefit from it. However, at the same time, Beijing Dumpling House's take on the dish is vegetarian friendly and doesn't leave you with an oily throat, so I give it my seal of approval nonetheless. I found it tasty!!! We had also gotten a chicken dish which was pretty good, as well. I do wish we had ordered the Beijing duck dish, though. I absolutely adore Beijing duck and the table next to us ordered it. It looked so good, but I was already full of tofu. Maybe next time? It's a lot better than the Asian food where I live in Florida, though, certainly. I wish there were more places like this that cook how the food was meant to be made over here! All in all, I really did enjoy my time here and I thank Beijing Dumpling House for the lovely meal.

Yelp
The dumplings were quite good and readily prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed my dish and the sauces provided. The service was pretty decent as well and the look of the restaurant was quite good. Very nice place to stop by in case you're looking for some good soup dumplings! Only qualm was I didn't love the sichuan Dan Dan soup, but that was neither here nor there.
google avatar

Alana A.

Yelp
Xiao long bao for the win! Both these and the pan fried pork dumplings were really amazing! My daughter is in love! Great selection of dim sum goodies and Chinese dishes to choose from! Would definitely recommend when in London's Chinatown.

Katy C.

Yelp
Great service, good was amazing, worth the wait to get in. Staff very friendly and food arrived fast

Yelp
I thought this place was fabulous. Handmade dumplings as was everything else there. Another food organization listed this as highly rated and amongst the hundreds of choices in Chinatown well worth the visit. I suggest going early as seating is limited. I'm a beginner when it comes to being in an authentic location and the variety of dumplings and attributes had my head spinning. A menu sheet much like a sushi restaurant I decided to start light. My order with hot and sour soup included shrimp. I also ordered a few of the pan fried dumpling as well as a -/4 crispy duck, all excellent. This restaurant obviously known for its dumplings as almost every table had them. It was a bit of a walk from my hotel but I would walk the city to visit again. I'm not sure why the low stars but it was 5 star service and food, you can't beat that.
google avatar

Ecmie L.

Yelp
A cozy spot for some yummy soup dumplings! After traveling Europe for a couple weeks I was longing for some Chinese comfort food and this restaurant didn't disappoint. I got their pork filled soup dumplings--good flavor, good amount of broth. Definitely hit the spot, but also nothing too special.
google avatar

Yelp
Look at the google reviews!! This place has a history of telling patrons of the African diaspora that there is a minimum for lunch! There is no minimum mentioned on the website or anywhere in the restaurant. Multiple past customers have complained about the staff treating patrons of African descent poorly aware. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Richard L.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. The place to go when you're in London Chinatown. Don't waste your time and money with other tourist traps
google avatar

Al W.

Yelp
Everything about this place is five stars, except that at 9pm on. Friday night they are sold out of dumplings. Literally it's a dumpling place that's open late, but with no dumplings. Now that my vent is out of the way, these are hands down the best Xiao Long Bao (soup dumpling) artists in London. Perfect skins, rich soup, creative meat choices, and every one hand rolled and steamed to order by the wonderful ladies in front. If you love XLB and you're in London, don't waste your time at other joints (especially not Dumplings Legend).
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Came here right before closing on a Wednesday night since our flight landed late. The restaurant was still packed despite it being so late and we were warned that they were out of the classic soup dumplings but other options were still available. This place had great authentic Chinese food and you'll understand why it's Zagat rated as soon as you take a bite of just about anything. We got array of items and everything was up to par or exceeded expectations. I will definitely be returning here next time I'm in London!
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
Amazing!! We were promptly seated despite it being very crowded. We ordered wine, vegetarian dumplings in soup, tofu, garlic broccoli, chicken with garlic sauce, Zucchini, and hot and sour soup. All of it was delicious and so flavorful. Portions are very huge l, and it's best to order several dishes and share amongst the table. It's also very reasonable for the price!
google avatar

Corissa L.

Yelp
The Soup Dumplings here are amazing! And I feel like I'm qualified to say that they are some of the best Soup Dumplings in the world, as I've eating them in Shanghai, where they originated, and at Din Tai Fung in Taiwan, which is Michelin starred. The meat filling is succulent, the broth is the perfect amount of salty and the doughy wrapper nice and thin. Both the Hot and Sour and Seafood Tofu Soups were excellent. And my father said that the Beef Hor Fun was wok-fried to perfection and one of the best he's ever had. The food here was so good, we dined here a few times (ordering pretty much the same items) during our short visit in London.

bernie s.

Yelp
I ordered the crab and pork dumpling and 2 of their signature seafood supreme "large " dumplings in which they advertise they make only 50 daily. when I ordered 2 for myself, the lady tried to discourage me from ordering more than one as "they were big". They were more like a big disappointment. They were just medium size 2" in diameter and the seafood was minimal. The crab and pork dumplings were just okay. The skin of both the dumpling was too think and heavy. Don't expect a warm welcome, a thank you or even a smile. Would not recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
We were here on Saturday. I can't get thee tom yum with prawns soup out of my mind. It was superb & a great cure for jet lag. We were first in line & it filled up fast. You order off of a strip of paper (like sushi bars) service was quick and portions were large. I also had an order of fried pork dumplings and was plenty full. We enjoyed a tsing tao beer & a bottle of warm sake. The ambience was nice, very clean restrooms & they played ethnic music. That's a must for me! (I hate going too restaurants that play obnoxious pop music!) we met a French man while we were waiting who has lived in London 10 years and has been on a quest for the best dumplings, & this is the place! Lucky for us! I'm back for more on a Thursday. It's not as crowded and still fantastic.
google avatar

Jonathan V.

Yelp
Got an order of 3 pork dumplings to go. They were made fresh, and tasted pretty good.
google avatar

Nadine L.

Yelp
It was okay. I have a hard time finding good Chinese in London because I think they are not as spicy or flavorful. The food here was like that. Even with me asking for chili oil on the side. It was okay food.
google avatar

Jackie L.

Yelp
Amazing and just in time. I had accidentally posted a review to this business by mistake. The one I had stated, "buyer beware" was for Jen's Cafe not this restaurant who clearly knows exactly what they are doing. The wait was totally worth the food that greeted us. The only disappointment was that our vegetarian friend didn't get any seafood dumplings because they ran out. We ordered braised tofu with mushrooms, braised beans, spicy salt shrimp (no shell!), szechuan shrimp, spicy salt pork chops, seafood dry noodle, broccoli garlic, and 2 things of pork xiao long bao and 2 things of pan seared pork dumplings. AH-mazing! Everything was super flavorful. I could eat the tofu for days on end, so much flavor, you wouldn't know that it was a vegetarian dish. The xiao long bao was beautifully steamed. Only complaint is that they're rather smaller than what we usually get in L.A. The pan-seared dumplings had a crispy, chewy outside and flavor-blasted filling. Would definitely return to try other things on the menu! BTW, the price for an almost Michelin rated restaurant is cheaper that what we pay for a Chinese seafood restaurant bill in Los Angeles. Totally worth it!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Me, looking at the menu posted outside: [gasp] What? They have dan dan noodles?! Wait. They have xiao long bao?! Uh... want! Friend: So... would you rather eat here than cook at home? Me: I mean... it looks pretty good... Friend: Then let's do it! I can't complain when life's tough decisions are handed to me on a silver platter. Or, in this case, a bamboo steaming tray... ... because -of course- we scored some xiao long bao. I mean... I don't remember the last time I had some. And especially ones that made me go 'Nom!' Meanwhile, the dan dan noodles were savoury and spicy, but not of the Szechuan peppercorn variety. Same situation on the mapo tofu. It's unclear whether or not these dishes have been toned down for the British palate, but they differed from the numbing delightfulness I'm used to. No matter - we thoroughly enjoyed each dish, regardless. Combined with the pleasant, legit Mandarin-speaking service and a comfortable interior featuring lots of dark wood, Beijing Dumpling offers plenty of reasons to return. I'm especially curious to learn more about their hand-pulled noodles and their zha jiang mian!
google avatar

Raymond B.

Yelp
The two stars are for the soup dumplings only. They weren't good. Of course this could be the day, or the batch, but I tried three different kinds and they were not juicy at all, and instead were sad empty little purses. Oh well. Most other people were not getting the soups dumplings, so maybe this place just isn't a great xiao long bao spot. Oh well.
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Not sure why this place doesn't have a better rating. They make their own soup dumpling wraps which is a rare find. Yes, they are small, but it's little bites and easier to eat. It's not as great as Din Tai Fung (only in California). A bit salty, but then again I am sensitive to salt. The service is quick and typical asian service meaning none of the fluff of checking in on you. Waive anyone down for what you want. Also, why go to a dumpling house and order... other menu items? Stick with their specialty and you will not be disappointed. I order the pork soup dumplings and choisum.

Yelp
Great as always: The best freshly made Chinese dumplings in the area between Gerrard Street and Leicester Square. Just about any small joint there offers dumplings, but most of them use frozen ones - you can tell! Here, you can actually see how the dim sum are being made. Make sure you're not in a hurry when the restaurant is busy. I heartily recommend the soup dumplings in particular - they're delicious, and great value! (8 pieces at UKP 6). Do yourself a favor and order cheap Chinese tea, you can always get much better beer from the pubs around Leicester Square later. Stools are as uncomfortable as ever (Message: Order, eat, pay, go!), service is quick and efficient, if always rushed and pushy (same message there). But the dark wood décor appeals overall, the food is good to excellent (the dim sum better than the other à la carte stuff!). No place to linger though, as I said earlier. If you ever go to Soho, go to Beijing Dumpling!
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
This is a restaurant where they specialises in 小笼包, a dish from my hometown. I do have to say the taste of these handmade tiny dumplings is very homey - priced at 8 for £6, it is also a cheap find in London. Larger size soup dumplings tho, are not as homey. And an interesting thing I've noticed as I was having the dumplings: they give vinegar to Chinese customers to dip the small dumplings but soy sauce to foreigners to dip the same dumplings - just have to say here: with vinegar is the proper way! Their stir fry and other dishes are just average tho, but definitely worth going back just for the dumplings!!
google avatar

Yelp
You know it's a bad sign when a Chinese restaurant has things like laksa and Indonesian fried rice on the menu. You should just walk away but against your better judgement, you come in. Their 'thing' is xiao long bao, given that it's being being made in the window. It's fresh and steamed to just the right point but it won't be the best you'll have had. It lacked a bit of flavour. We had stir fried mushrooms which was covered in a gloopy sauce. This had potential but the preparation didn't allow the mushrooms to shine. We also had the ma po tofu which was really just tofu cooked with fresh chills. This wasn't authentic. It's cheap and cheerful but the food was too anglicised and dumbed down for my taste.
google avatar

Lena M.

Yelp
We were here for dumplings, so i will review them. Delicious!!! Taste the chicken ones, the pork & crab Are yummy aswell! The Rest is quite good. Not phenomenal.
google avatar

Dianne K.

Yelp
I really liked the soup dumplings. This was my first stop at an eatery on London. I was craving dumplings so I got the pan fried pork dumplings. You can taste the freshness as they were made to order. I also enjoyed the beef with ginger. You can really taste the ginger but it wasn't overbearing. THEY DONT TAKE AMEX! Didn't know that til I tried to pay.
google avatar

Cheryl C.

Yelp
Exactly what I was hoping for. Growing up, my parents always picked awesome Chinese restaurant s for our family celebrations in NY. While I was leaning towards any of the mouthwatering places with roasted Peking duck hanging in the window displays, I ended up choosing this place because of immediate proximity and I peeked the 2018 Michelin rating on the window. All the food was very good, but the firecracker chicken is a must try!

Yelp
I haven't visited Chinatown in London before so now was a great time to visit since I was in the area. I decided to enjoy lunch solo at Beijing Dumpling House. I definitely ordered too much food for one person but I wanted to try different items and get a feel of the restaurant overall. I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant although it was a little awkward when I'm facing the front of the restaurant and then a gentleman was seated at the table in front of me facing the back of the restaurant. The staff were welcoming but not overly friendly. I ordered the honey garlic ribs, pickled cucumbers, and the pork xiao long bao (also known as soup dumplings). I've ordered these exact items from a couple of different menus over the last year (I may be predictable lol) but the ribs and pickled cucumbers were the best I've tried. The ribs had a good amount of meat on them and we well balanced between sweet and savory. The cucumbers were refreshing and were not overpowered by garlic as I've had in the past. The xiao long bao's were good but I still prefer the ones from Gourmet Dumpling House in Boston.

Yelp
Decided to come here after seeing the chief make dumplings in the window. I ordered the mushrooms with braised bean curd, chicken soup dumplings, crab soup dumplings, and pork chops. The mushrooms and braised bean curd was my favorite dish it came with vegetables, bean curd, and mushrooms. The sauce that came with it was flavorful. The soup dumplings came 8 to an order and are a little smaller than what I'm used to in New York. The soup dumplings were juicy and flavorful. The pork chops were good and came with onion and peppers stir fried. Overall I would suggest the mushrooms with bean curd and soup dumplings both were flavorful.

Vince S.

Yelp
This review is for the soupy dumplings only. The skin is too thick, not enough soup inside, more like a wonton. I was not impressed.

Yelp
Beijing Dumpling has sprung up on Chinatown's secret foodie street, Lisle Street. Although its name suggests food from Beijing, the decor, ambiance and some crossover food items on the menu like xiao long bao show a lot of similarity to Leong's Legends a few doors down, which serves Taiwanese food. The similarity comes down to being able to watch the chefs make dumplings in the shop window. Making xiao long bao is a real art to make a thin enough skin to make it tasty and now over-chewy but strong enough to hold the soup inside the dumpling without tearing. The seating inside is on wooden benches and tables reminiscent of Hong Kong kung fu movies, a strend started by the original Leong's Legends restaurant on Macclesfield Street I ordered zha jiang noodles from the street food section part of the menu and some spicy pork xiao long bao. The zha jiang noodles came with thick udon sized noodles and a thick sweet and spicy sauce. It filled a spot but I think I prefer dan dan noodles. The xiao long bao were really good - better than the ones at Leong's Legends, which are rather thick-skinned. The only slight reservation is that the spicy pork ones tasted just like regular pork xiao long bao. Although the dishes at this restaurant are also available at other eateries in Chiantown, this is a good addition to Lisle Street

Yelp
This place has the best crab and pork soup dumplings I have ever had. They were a perfect size - bite size so you can savour the whole dumpling with the meat and soup together. We were only in town for a few days but ended up making a second trip back to this place. The morning glory with garlic was perfectly made and just crunchy enough. We also had the crispy duck which I could have done without as it was a bit dry.

Yelp
Oh, I love this place. Thanks YELP London for introducing this place to me! I had time today for a sit down lunch, so I went to Beijing Dumpling, plus I was craving chinese fooddd soo much, and xiao long baos? OH YES! This place is so close to the tube, I only stopped because I saw people making the xiao long baos in the window and I looked up and was interested only to realize it's where my destination is! I came at 2, there was only one other person there at the time...and like 3 servers and 2 xiao long bao makers... You can watch them make it if you stand outside the window, a little weird, but hey, if you interested... They seated me, and I asked if I can switch to a bigger table, since yenno, there was no one there and i wanted to put my bag and coat next to me, but I didn't realize they had hooks on the wall, but nonetheless, i like big tables. So they gave me a table that can sit 4..LOL, usually parties of 2 get these. The servers are very polite, can be more cheery though, some of them... I ordered the "spicy sichuan dandan noodles" and the pork xiao long baos. Each was 5 pounds. My noodles came pretty quick, and my oh my, were they delicious in their own little way, and the fact that I was starving!! It's not regular dan dan noodles I was used to, and I've been to china and all that jazz, so I know how it goes! But these seem legit, though very very thick, kinda like udon, except better? The soup was not too spicy, it was perfect, and I cannot handle much spicy, so I guess it's definitely toned down a notch. The xiao long baos came slightly afterwards, and it comes in 8 of them. They are mini xiao long baos...I was worried it would be too much, cause really, me and noodles and 8 gigantic xiao long baos?!?! After getting over the shock at their size, i took my chopstick, grabbed one, dipped it into the vinegar, and with my spoon, pinched a little hole, sucked up the soup...mmMMMMMMmmmm. SO GOOD. I love the fact that it didn't rip when i picked it up, NONE OF THEM DID!! The skin was soo soft, so fresh, so moist, but not too moist/soggy, and it wasn't hard, it was just..perfection. It tasted so good too. It's almost as good as shanghai ones. I would come back just for the xiao long baos... wow London, you keep on impressing me! Oh, this place is mighty big too, downstairs wasn't opened, but there are more tables there...and the top floor is quite large too if you keep walking. Bathrooms are downstairs! Oh, and everyone that came pretty much ordered the same thing, xiao long baos...and maybe dan dan noodles.
