Yelp
Solid 5 stars, I am definitely a fan. Not big on Mediterranean cuisine, but this place just hit the spot. My friend loves mideastern food and has been all over dearborn trying to find a 'spot'- he said this is it!
2 words - Garlic Paste. Garlic Paste, garlic paste, garlic paste. It is absolutely amazing. Made fresh every day, I could eat it all day. This stuff was addicting, I literally could not get enough of it. I dipped my wrap in it, and smothered my fries with it. Great balance between the bright, bitter spice of the garlic, the lemon zest in the paste, with a nice finish of sweet to dampen the bitter. I would buy this by the bucket and would exclusively come back for it.
We dined in and ordered the Shwarma Chicken Wrap. For an appetizer I ordered Dolma. I had the option for warm or cold and there is just something about cold dolma that excites my nether regions. This dolma in particular is made fresh in house and you can tell.
When our Shwarma wraps came, they were delicious. I was super impressed with the sauce they used for it. The chicken had a great lemony flavor that complimenting rather than domineering - you could taste the other seasonings they used. We ordered fries as a side and while my friend didn't enjoy them, I loved them. I knew those weren't house made but I was still happy.
They have a 'Choco kabob' that apparently is unique to Europe with their establishment being the sole exception. Teddy, who appears to be the owner, told us they were out of the batter for the crepes they use for that dessert and said it would be weeks before it's available because it's shipped from Italy - that sounds a little suspect to me, but he let us try the chocolate shavings which were fantastic so that shut me up. We took home baklava, which was so delicious, and hummus to try later. I'll be eating that tonight.
As I already said, huge fan. They have a big menu for such a small storefront but they also deliver and do carryout. I've read some of the other reviews on here, we seemed to catch them on a good day so I'll be back to try something else. The food is amazing and the service was just as great, Teddy really made us feel welcome.
One thing that was a little offsetting, you can definitely tell this place is 'family-owned'. Mom , who was also our waitress, had a baby in the back she was caring for when she and grandma could. As we were leaving a small family reunion happened in the kitchen, they were happy to see Ali. I'm not too turned off by it, I actually admire the hard work they're putting into their business. It was just out of the ordinary for me, although I know in most middle eastern communities this is business as usual.
