"After kayaking I stopped by this casual Lebanese–Mexican spot and was impressed by the shawarma nachos—loaded with chunks of tender steak, nacho cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and the restaurant’s signature Beirock sauce—where spices typical of both traditions (turmeric, allspice, cinnamon, paprika, cumin) combine to create rich, complementary flavors. Owner Adrian Jimenez learned about Middle Eastern cuisine and intentionally blends Mexican and Lebanese traditions; the shawarma meat is grilled over charcoal (not a spit) to lock in flavor, and both the Beirock sauce and nacho cheese are liberally ladled over warm tortilla chips, resulting in nachos that are deliciously both Mexican and Lebanese." - Serena Maria Daniels
