"This sister restaurant to the sadly defunct Edgware Road branch attracts both locals and homesick ex-pats, who swear by the excellence of the hot and cold mezze (including maqaneq, Lebanese sausages flambéed in butter and lemon) and the charcoal-grilled meats and fish, plus unmissable (chicken and lamb) shawarma — all at less than £10." - Alexander Larman, Adam Coghlan

"It’s always a good sign when Lebanese tourists flock to a place. The iconic Edgware Road branch closed its doors for good last June, but its cousin’s Kensington café still sates those sharwarma cravings. Sunday brunching? For something sweet, opt for ossmallieh. For something savoury, it’s hard to go wrong with grilled halloumi meshwi." - Salma Haidrani

"Reliable and reliably good, this fast-service Lebanese restaurant is an institution famous for its shawarma wraps, batata harra, mezze, and grilled kebabs. Open til half past midnight." - Adam Coghlan

An interesting, extensive and rather aunthentic menu is what attracted us to this restaurant. I visited with a mate who's a chef in a Michelin star Lebanese restaurant in Kuwait and he knew what best to order. Starters and service weren't that great band hence we did not bother carrying on to main course. Our waitress was strolling around snapping her fingers and humming the songs that were playing. No consideration for guests seated at the tables. When we managed to get the attention of the waiter to order drinks he seemed like he could not care less. The manager then served himself from the live kitchen and seated himself at one of the tables and hence we could not expect any of the staff to be supervised or guided into caring.

Fantastic food, very friendly staff and reasonable price. Shawarma lamb is definitely my number one favourite. Love the complimentary olives and bread at the beginning of the meal and fruit and bakery at the end. Portions are very generous. Lebanese beer goes very well with the food.

Food is good. Had the mixed grill and meat was juicy and flavourful. In fact the standard is very similar to the slightly cheaper Bosphorous Kebab which is next door. This has a much better setting for indoor dining. Customer service could be better; seems abit lethargic. But it didn't bother me much, I enjoyed my food. Update: Dec 2017 Service from the wait staff is still quite lethargic. Food taste makes up for it. Perhaps it’s just the winter.

Good food and service, I loved the hummus especially. There is little variation of meat - just chicken and lamb - but many vegetarian options too. Prices are affordable and portions are abundant, they even offer some olives and fruit/dessert. Recommended for a casual dinner or lunch.

Large-ish portions for the price. Complimentary green olives and fruits...biggest portion of free fruit I've ever seen. Got the mixed grill and while grilled lamb and chicken were good, the minced lamb was a standout for flavour and seasoning. Completely unexpected as minced beef is usually worse than chunks of beef, but here the minced lamb clearly won. Hummus smaller than expected but still enough.

I ordered the stuffed vine leaves, aubergine, and courgette. The waiter said the portion should be enough for one person. I believed that for a moment as it was for 16£. Unfortunately, this is what I got. The taste was very good but I'm sorry the portion is too small and they should consider increasing this meal's size or reduce its price.

Tasty food at reasonable prices. Friendly host spontaneously got our small group witj a baby to a quiet roomier area at the back. Prompt service and large menu.

Truly fantastic! One of the few authentic Lebanese restaurants in the UK. Located nearby to South Kensington underground tube station and plenty of buses stopping bear the restaurant, the location is excellent. The waitress was so lovely, friendly and talkative and made sure we were all happy. Furthermore, for a shop that looks small from the outside, there is lots of space inside. The toilets and the entire restaurant was clean and well kept. The food was extraordinarily mouth watering! The price was decent and plentiful and food was served quickly. There is such an enormous range, including a myriad of traditional Lebanese starter mezze's, an enormous range of meat, rice, vegetarian dishes and sandwiches including shawarma. The freshly squeezed juices were incredible. At the end were pleasantly treated to an assortment of fresh fruit and 4 pieces of chocolate halawa/halva as desert on the house aka it was free! A brilliant way to end the day. I have provided a photo of the dish I had, which was roasted baby chicken, on-top of brown rice mixed with mince meat and roasted pine nuts, garnished with salad and complemented with freshly squeezed fruit cocktail smoothie!
