"It’s an issue Anya Fernald aims to tackle with Belcampo Meat Co., her northern California-based farm and butchery. She owns nearly 50,000 acres of farmland, where she raises grass-fed cows, free-range chickens, and other animals 'the way they should be raised,' as she says." - Carla Vianna

"Organic meat purveyor Belcampo is bowing out of Russian Hill, where it’s operated on Polk Street since 2014, and also closing in Palo Alto, as CEO Anya Fernald reshuffles her local empire. The last day for SF and Palo Alto shoppers to get their grass-finished meats from Fernald’s Northern California farm and her Temple Grandin-designed butchery is March 2." - Caleb Pershan

An outstanding butchers that also cooks (to your taste) what they sell and of my, is good. Their own Belcampo Burger was awesome, but at $15+ (just for the burger) you would expect so! It's worth it though, given the care and quality of the meat and of course, the cow it came from 🐄 The various unique cold drinks on offer should please everyone, but is a little bit and miss, as you won't really know the products, especially the Modern Times Beer I got, which truly unique and as described, sour 🍺 The only annoyance is the store refrigerators, they are noisy and keep the entire room a little cooler than I'd prefer, but on a hot day, perfect really. The atmosphere feels more butcher than restaurant, with staff banging banging around in the kitchen and loud conversions, but they do at least play some rather fun upbeat mix music that helps with the noise and atmosphere a little 🎶 As my photos show, you can buy a lot of awesome stuff here from their open fridges, including the same meats they serve 🍖 There is no smell of Belcampo being an actual butchers too and no signs of raw meat being handled whilst you are eating, so don't feel put off by any of that, it's too good to miss really 🍔 Staff were both friendly, helpful and the place felt super clean 👌 My only minor moan was WiFi was not working whilst I was their and prevented me (as a tourist) from some basic communications with others. Not terrible, but still annoying 📶 Recommend, despite the above and slightly higher costs than expect with this modern style airy butcher-restaurant... But'aurant 😋

Fabulous fare and welcoming service. Moderate prices and generous portions -- an excellent value becomes a bargain during "Happy Hour". A small eatery with a laid back, quiet vibe. Not pretentious, just Farm to Table done really well, a neighborhood gem!

If you are concerned about how beef patties are cooked, this is going to be the spot! Organic and pasture raised beef are the simplest thing but strongest secret weapon hard to beat! No-frills, focus only on beef patties!!! Beef patty is super tender, juicy, smoky flavor to it!

The inside of the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. You can taste an amazing difference in the quality of the meat like it came from happy animals. I was sat at the bar and was given cocktails by the bartender Brendan which he managed to pair perfectly with my food. They were so delicious! I recommend the Preamble!

Definitely overrated. Burger was just ok, I was charged for (bad) fries I didn't even order. Too expensive, and quality has nothing to envy to a lot of burger places around town. Service was poor. I would want to try their meats (that looked delicious at first) after this bad experience, too bad cause they may be a good butcher's shop.

We've had brunch here on a few occasions. Their sausage and bacon quality are superb (as expected of a meat shop). We also adored their ricotta pancakes. Very reasonable prices and no wait at all. Why bother with Mymys when you have Belcampo :) also love that it is spacious and I dont have to sit 2 feet away from the next table like most sf brunch places.

What was the restaurant portion of the butcher is now a fast casual burger shop and bodega. You can see and smell the high quality of the meats they carry. What a shame that the burger was charred dry to a grey hockey puck but cheese not melted. The ketchup and aioli on the side were great. The fries tasted like fresh cut delicious potato fried in a too low of a temp fryer to a soggy mess. The one guy at the grill looked beat and defeated. What a shame. The potential!
