We had such an amazing experience at Bell & Anchor in Sag Harbor. The food was truly fantastic which is rare in this region, where so many spots don’t quite live up to their price point. This one is absolutely worth it. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance: casual from the outside, but elevated and stylish once you’re in. We came here for my bachelorette with a group of 11, and they accommodated us with ease, no crazy deposits or required tasting menu. The service was excellent across the board, even with our large party, and everything from food to drinks was handled seamlessly. The steak was cooked to perfection, the oysters were outstanding (as expected), and the bar itself is beautiful. Prices felt more than fair for the quality and experience. I would come back in a heartbeat and can’t recommend Bell & Anchor enough!

Amazing restaurant with a tasteful interior - low lit tables, comfortable seating, and quiet! Would be a great place for a date or nice family dinner. Not too mention the fantastic view of the harbor My friends and I went here to celebrate my birthday, the staff were incredibly attentive and personable. Chelsey was our waiter, he frequently checked in on us and our glasses were never empty. Oysters - fresh and flavorful. Cesar salad - well seasoned. Beet salad - my personal favorite of the appetizers, the beets were wonderfully cold and sweet with arugula and goat cheese. Clam chowder - perfect execution of a classic. Tuna tartare - again amazing, fresh tuna, well seasoned Hamburger - fantastic Lobster Garganelli - delicious, didn’t feel heavy despite being a pasta dish Bouillabaisse - another hit, my friend’s favorite ever Their brownie was the perfect way to end the night Was a pricey night but we got 5 apps, 3 mains, dessert, and a bottle of wine. Typically would expect it to be around 60-70 per person for an app and an entree.

One of, if not the best restaurants to go to near Southampton. Service, location, and overall atmosphere is just wonderful. Whether you sit at the bar which does take reservations, or at a dining room table, it is an absolute joy to visit The Bell and Anchor. Some menu highlights include the mussels, and Fritto Misto appetizers, any combination of the different oysters available, and the flat iron steak w French fries and sautéed spinach. Drinks are delicious and the bartenders are very nice, especially Carl. Will be back soon & often! New menu item was a fish in parchment paper with jasmine rice and coconut curry sauce, a new favorite ❤️

We absolutely love dining with John at the bar on Sundays and Tuesdays! The Portabella mushroom appetizer is to die for and the hearts of Palm salad is hands-down, my favorite salad anywhere, I have a very difficult time going there and not ordering it. The nightly specials are always wonderful as well And I have many menu favorites. They also have a beautiful list and don’t miss the mascarpone almond cake for dessert! During season, I highly recommend making reservations. It is a very busy spot!

For me a 3.5. Overall a nice restaurant with pretty good food. Chowder was tasty but the best appetizer was the frito misto. Perfectly crunchy batter and not at all oily. While chowder was good it was a little inconsistent. Some bowls were hot but some were barely warm and it was a little watery. Octopus special was also good, octopus was tender and cooked well. PB&O was a little odd for my group. I think the kimchi flavor didn’t work for us. Fish and chips was an overall favorite, tender flaky fish and crispy batter but some pieces were soggy on the bottom . Caesar salad was good. Beautiful presentation and flavorful dressing. Garganelli was a little underwhelming. Sauce was a little bland and the lobster didn’t add much flavor.

Our meals were excellent. Prices very reasonable for quality of food ..Flatiron steak and salmon. The sides that came with it were equally as good. Staff was lovely, waitress was great, manager very pleasant and accommodating.. service was a bit slow , seemed understaffed maybe just for that night. Not a reason to skip this great spot. I'd highly recommend.

A great restaurant in Sag Harbor!! Delicious food, great service, and nice decor with a beautiful view! The lobster garganelli, and the bouillabaisse are a must!

Great from start to finish. The drinks all the way through to dessert were delicious. Opted to sit at the bar. Our bartender, Carl, was great. His recommendations were perfect. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a perfect evening.

Every experience at Bell and Anchor is memorable. The service at the bar or the table, impeccable. The dirty martinis in a cold glass, delish. The food...don't even get me started. Truly a 10/10 for every south/sag Hamptons trip.

This place deserves more than 4 stars. Nice ambience inside and nice view. Really great seafood and fast attentive service, we started with the fritto misto which was very good. I ordered the bouillabaisse and my husband got the flounder. Both were really good! We swapped halfway through - the sauce with the flounder was incredible. Next time I want to try the mussels appetizer. The ladies next to us had steak which also looked great. We will definitely come back when out in the hamptons.

This place is like the Tardis. Small on the outside and bigger on the inside. The food is good but not great. I got the Ribs. The spinach that came with it was raw and unseasoned. The fries came out cold while the container it came in was hot. The ribs themselves were good. They call it a "Guava baby back ribs" but I tasted no guava. The lobster risotto had only traces of lobster at best. The cod dish was pretty good. Service was average. They brought out the food super fast. There is always something cold or undercooked when food comes out that fast. Today it was the fries. The dining room is kept so dark you can't see the food that's in front of you.

This is up there for best meal I've had. For appetizers we got a dozen of the East coast oysters which were very fresh and sweet, The Naughty Blu was very good and, when asked, got a generous amount of extra blue cheese olives, the Apple Bread Pudding was amazing and a decent size. But the star of the meal was the Local Flounder Francaise. The fish was flaky and well seasoned, the veggies were perfectly cooked and the beurre blanc sauce was nice and rich. Overall, *french kiss*. Giving 4 stars though because, while our server was nice and attentive, they didn't know whether one dessert had nuts in it or not, which one person in our party was allergic to. Luckily, before she ate it we luckily caught it in time. But with nut allergies being so serious and common you should know what does or does not have nuts in it.

Food was alright. Ordered the clam clowder and mixed calamari + other seafood. Portion isn't enough. Service was great. We didnt have a reservation, but was able to get seated very quickly. Parking right outside the restaurant. It's for a special occasion (a date) although hangouts are fine too.

This is a good option for the hamptons with a nice location, but I didn't find the food to be that great. The tuna was a little salty, there was way too much soy sauce. They forgot to bring our shrimp dish for us. The lobster pasta was good, but unlike the tuna, it needed salt (and pepper). The muscles were good, but I wish they would give us bread to soak up the sauce.

I went with a large group. We tried many of the apps; chowder, mussels, tuna and entrees; lobster pasta, branzino, burger, chicken, as well as the special for the night (swordfish). All the food was great. The ambiance is very nice. The service was a bit slow, no check ins for drinks, took a long time to place orders. The cocktails were inconsistent. Some very good, a couple undrinkable. But overall good experience.

Terrible cocktails. And waitress has a bad attitude. Zero charm . Entree steak not cooked as ordered.. sides were cold and lacked presentation. Very expensive too. Disappointing... will not be returning

My wife and I were looking for a romantic sunset seafood dinner. My search found this place one of the only restaurants nearby that was open on a Tuesday in November. We came for the sunset and found an exceptional dining experience. I took some spectacular pictures when we arrived but once we sat down to eat, we forgot about the sunset. We ordered the calamari salad special. It was fresh crispy calamari on a bed of arugula and frisée served with a creamy chili dressing with peanuts. It was a spectacular salad. We loved it so much, we asked to purchase some of the dressing. We then ordered fish and chips. We recently travelled to England and loved the fish and chips there. The fish here was well buttered and very crunchy (just as I like it) It came with two healthy pieces of fish. They served it with both malt vinegar (traditionally British) and tartar sauce. Came with a overflowing serving of fries and delish slaw. All were fresh and tasty. Kevin was our server and he was excellent, checking in on us frequently and very attentive. We finished the dinner with a brownie and ice cream. I bit too fiudgie for me. Also if the brownie was warm I t would have been a nice touch. But I won't even count dessert. This was a pleasant find and we will be back.

Unassuming from the outside, excellent on the inside. We were the last table - eight people, no reservation, and a quick call ahead before arriving - on a sleepy off-season Thursday night. We left happily satiated after being very well taken care of. Bell and Anchor offers good cocktails and wine and the food, from appetizers to entrees, is excellent. We started with a couple dozen Montauk oysters which were terrific, which you'd hope for since they come from just down the road. I could eat these for hours with a nice, non-sweet sparkling wine. The Oaxacan old fashioned, with Mezcal, drew good cocktail reviews and I had The Mary, a fresh and clean drink with cucumber vodka (light on the cuke taste), St. Germain, and a splash of pineapple juice. For food, the mussels were awesomely juicy and cooked for just the right amount of time, with coconut milk and lemongrass. The burrata salad - always a favorite - was yummy, with arugula, roasted figs, pomegranate seeds, and a light balsamic dressing. Bell and Anchor has nightly entree specials and we were lucky that Thursday is bouillabaisse night. Several of us ordered it and all were happy with it, especially on a chilly night. Great meal, fair prices, and excellent service. Highly recommend.

My favorite restaurant out east!! The food is spectacular every time, and the service is incredible. If you eat at the bar, the bartender Carl is the most personable, efficient, and experienced staff member you could ask for. Definitely check it out, the cobb salad with salmon is my go to!!

Food never disappoints, views are pretty of water. I wish the outdoor seating was nice and location is okay. We love this as a family dinner spot!

Ive been going to BnA for quite a few years. Was always consistently good until this past season. Our party ordered the special which was swordfish with spinach gnocchi and carrots. The swordfish was stick your throat dry, carrots underdone and gnocchi was doughy and tasteless. All a big disappointment at quite an expense . The past couple of dinners the fish dish on the menu was also way overcooked. What to say? I love this restaurant and I'm hoping the kitchen pulls it together. The owner is a great guy and the staff always friendly and efficient.

Glad to report Bell and Anchor is back to high standards! Service, atmosphere and food were all phenomenal this past weekend. Local fish (halibut) with jasmine rice and coconut sambal is so flavorful and delicious - and not too spicy! One of the best dishes I've had there without a doubt. Wine selection and dessert perfected the meal! Definitely was an off night the last time I went and haven't experienced a bad night since!

My favorite, a hidden gem but locals know. Greeted by a friendly host, pretty and airy inside, friendly servers and fantastic food.

Came in for our first time and sat at the bar with Carl. He was very personable and funny. Carl was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. We were blown away by everything we had which you will see in the pics. The atmosphere is very nice with a beautiful view. Carl's drinks were absolutely incredible. I highly recommend stopping in here for a great meal and drinks!

Cute place with a cozy atmosphere. The service was great and the food is good. All my choices (Fries, arugula salad, vegan lasagna, apple bread pudding and the harbor non alcoholic drink) were very good!

If you're looking for a great dinner than look no further. We were seated promptly at a gorgeous table overlooking the sunset. The restaurant itself has a really warm, classic vibe and great views. Service was well above average. This is one of the few restaurants where you really don't feel rushed. Everything was timed appropriately and we never had to ask for anything. The food was PERFECT. And I mean perfect. The pork chop was super moist and flavorful. Burger was on point. The fish was very fresh and cooked well. An all around fantastic experience. 10/10 can't wait to go back.

My god. My human god. What a place. They boasted about their bouillabaisse once. I had never known how to spell it, but a sign near the bathroom said "it's back." I had never heard of a bouillabaisse being "back", much less gone in the first place. But it sounded like their bouillabaisse went on a trip, found itself, and returned stronger than ever, with a new sense of purpose and vigor for life. And it did. Yes the chowder is amazing. Yes I have eaten the mussels and accidentally eaten the shells of the mussels, drank the broth on purpose and lived in the parking lot for two days. Of course everything on the menu is what heaven looks like if you have been good. But the bouillabaisse is something you take home to your mother and she forgets about you, and she starts bragging to her friends that the bouillabaisse did well in school AND made friends at summer camp. So. Get the bouillabaisse. Get anything. You'll be happy. But... Get the bouillabaisse. And don't bring it home to mother. You know the expression, "it's nothing to write home about"? Write home about the bouillabaisse- do not take it home. Summer camp will never be the same. -the oyg

Had an amazing meal here, happened upon the place on a friend's recommendation and had their pork Milanese over salad - really fanatic meal, excellent cocktails and top-notch service. Very nice ambiance as well.

We chose to eat here 2 times on our last visit! Oysters and seafood were great, but the most pleasant surprise was the bone in pork chop with Leek bread pudding- it was fantastic!! Also, someone in our party left a pretty expensive item behind after dinner - a brand easily recognized - we called the next afternoon when they opened and they were saving it for her!! Far too uncommon these days and much appreciated!!

The Bell & Anchor is an American Seafood Restaurant in Sag Harbor. As the night goes on, the restaurant got dimmer and dimmer. If the restaurant was not as loud and we could have conversations, I'd give this restaurant a 5-star. We picked this restaurant because it could accommodate large parties and kids. Tonight's Specials included 4 types of oysters, salmon tartare, burrata, and dorade. The table of 12 shared a Frito Misto and a Burrata. The Frito Misto consisted of salty fried clam strip, shrimp, calamari, and capers served with lemon and spicy aioli dipping sauce. The Burrata consisted of a creamy ball of mozzarella in a herb cream topped with grilled crostini. In addition to the shared appetizers, I ordered the Tuna Bowl which consisted of diced yellowfin tuna, spinach, cucumber, orange, and soybeans served in a tangy ponzu sauce and garnished sesame seeds. The gentleman next to me ordered a Caesar Salad which consisted of fresh romaine lettuce, anchovy, and parmesan tossed in a creamy garlicky Caesar dressing. Most of our table ordered either the Pan Seared Scottish Salmon or Pan Roasted Dorade. There were a few outliers who ordered the Pork Chops or Steak Frites. The Pan Seared Scottish Salmon was seared over sautéed greens and chanterelle-English pea risotto. The dish was drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette and carrot-ginger coulis. The salmon was cooked to perfection - medium just the way I liked it. The Pan Roasted Dorade consisted of a mildly flaky white fish served over herb roasted potatoes, wild mushrooms, leek ragout, and thyme a jus. Sadly, we didn't leave any room for dessert.

This place has the worst service ever. For the prices they charge you would think that the waiters/waitresses would pour your drink, or even offer bread, or check up mid meal. I arrived with two parties of 7 at 8oclock. They couldn't seat us because we reserved late, which was fine. We sit down. No menus. We wait 15 minutes for a menu. We asked for one bottle of water they brought us two, ALREADY OPEN! When ANYONE who works in any restaurant business knows the bottle should be opened in front of the customers face. It tastes horrible, wasn't even cold, but we just kept it calm. We order finally after waiting for menus. No bread was served until i asked, it came in a napkin. we order apps, i got oysters,calamari, burrata. The calamari was alright, the breading of the calamari was very brittle.. But it was alright. The oysters were good. Burrata was good. We waited an hour and a half for our entrees at a now empty restaurant. We weren't asked about how our appetizer tasted, how we were doing, if we wanted any plates to be taken away. We waited an hour and a half for our entrees while we sat with our finished apps. We got food. Fluke was good. The surf n turf was alright, the lobster was good but undercooked. The iron steak was horribly undercooked. It was so undercooked. Medium rare doesn't equate to Blue. Again no one asks how we are enjoying the food or if there's any problems. The fries tasted like veggie sticks. In total it was 391$. I left 20$ for a tip. I have NEVER in my LIFE left such a bad tip. We were so fed up we didn't even want dessert. JUST a bad place. Ugly shack looking, inside pretty but freezing i had to put a jacket on in Summer. The owner or host was also patronizing, rude, and narcissistic. Just look at some of the responses.‍

DO NOT eat here. We made a reservation on Resy, came, felt the conditions were not good / unclean / unsafe, and decided to just be polite and have a drink instead of dinner so that the restaurant would still get some revenue. We even asked for the drinks to go so we wouldn't unnecessarily take up a table. One of the drinks tasted very foul and I only had about a third of it before throwing it out. I ended up with food poisoning from it and it ruined the entire night. I think the water they're using on the ice isn't clean. A different friend who had eaten here that weekend later told me she too had gotten sick. She ordered the oysters. Things are tough with COVID, so whatever, I wasn't too upset, restaurants are struggling. When I then saw we had gotten charged a $50 no show fee on Monday, I flipped. I called the manager to explain what happened - and he insisted to charge us the fee because we had not sat down for dinner. AFTER THEY GAVE US FOOD POISONING AND WE HAD MADE THE IT APPEARS CORRECT JUDGMENT THAT THE RESTAURANT WASNT SUFFICIENTLY CLEAN AND WE THEREFORE HAD LEFT! This is probably the worst customer experience I've ever had. Recommend you avoid this place. Also they claim to be in Sag Harbor, when they're in a run-down parking lot in Noyack overlooking an industrial harbor development. Disgusting.

This restaurant just passes the 'I ate at _____ and survived" test. Like so many other Hampton food joints, it has a hard time making great food and accepts good food as it's best standard. The mediocrity of food preparations consistently astounds and disappoints East End diners. Anywhere else you eat in America, you can actually get a very good meal at a good price, but not in the Hamptons. Even when you pay a high price, such as here, the best you can hope for is a hotel-level dinner at best. It's like going to a wedding reception and hoping the bride's father didn't pay a lot for the ordinary food.

My first time coming here was this last weekend. (Although I have been to Sag Harbor and Montauk many times now.) Wowzers! We had the $35.00 dinner deal which included a filling and delicious appetizer and main course. I had shrimp and grits for an appetizer. I believe that there was some type of cheese on the dish, as well. It was as good (if not better) than my favorite place,Magnolias, in Charleston, SC for grits. This place knows how to make grits! I would have liked to have more than two shrimp included, but for an appetizer it was very filling. All weekend I had been craving protein. I was not left disappointed by the steak that I ordered which came with an ample amount of spinach and delicious fries. We were so full that we didn't order dessert although I really wish we had. This is one of the best restaurants in sag harbor. I cannot wait to come back! Portions are plentiful, prices very manageable, service was on point and ambiance also was delightful with a beautiful view.

The place is awesome. We were sat at a lovely table at a window. We've been there multiple times and this is the first time we got a nice table. Our waiter was very good, seemed stressed and the stupid masks make of tough to understand what the heck people are saying. I must give the busboy a shout out...he was attentive and hopefully he is being taken care of by the waitstaff. The food was great, it always is. It's just hard to love a 1.5 hour $300. meal for 2. It is the Hamptons, i get that but the prices are just a little too high. The clams and oysters were wonderful but that is for sure what put our bill into the "ridiculous " range. We'll be back- like lemmings over the cliff, we'll be back.

Wonderful spot on the water! Don't judge a book by its cover. This place is an oyster, on the outside unassuming, but a pearl on the inside! The service was top notch! From the host, to the waitress, the buss boy, and everyone else. They all certainly aim to please. My fiancé and I are on the ever growing keto diet. It can be hard to find food that we can have without substituting and asking many questions on the realm of being annoying. But the staff thought of not only innovative ways to carry out our limitations but with the most delightful attitude and patience. The food was just as good as the service and portions were a good size. The owner or manager even said good bye to me on the way out by my first name which is impressive because I'm in sales and it's hard to remember one name let alone a whole restaraunt full of people! We are from red bank nj and took this trip to sag harbor as a little getaway. We are truly happy we stumbled upon this delightful place. It was a very good birthday dinner

Had a wonderful meal here on a Wednesday "(lobster night"). Hearts of Palm salad was de-lish with a lovely light balsamic dressing. My GF promised to share it and I ended up with just a bite while she devoured the rest. The chowder was devine (and I'm picky when it comes to chowder). Lots of clams, potatoes and other things. The 1.5 lb. lobster was perfectly cooked and the French string beans were crispy and tasty. The potatoes were also great. The salmon was cooked to perfection with asparagus. Our server - Lach - was totally attentive and flexible with substitutions ("We want you to be happy!"). I had their signature drink "The Last Word", which was excellent. For dessert we split a maple tinged crème brûlée which was perfect - warm, crisp topping with a cool underbelly. The only thing that was missing was some bread, which strangely, was nowhere to be found. We look forward to returning the next time we are in Sag Harbor!

My favorite place for mussels. Love the staff and the food is some of the most consistent out here. The manager Max is the best and the brunch is always nice for when we go out as a family.

Amazing experience every time at the Bell & Anchor. Food, service, ambiance...all first rate. Dinner was delicious and the dessert was off the hook! Recommend the salmon tartare, Caesar salad with prosciutto and salmon with risotto. Coconut cake with fudge swirl ice cream was to die for. Can't wait to go back.

This is the best place I've been to in the Hamptons in a very long time! It's on a long and winding road- but a fantastic bay view awaits inside. We came for a spring prix-fix: no reservation, but we got a pleasant table for two. The food was FANTASTIC. For an appetizer, we shared an order of brandade- a soft, unctous mixture of salted cod, and garlicky mashed potato in a small hot ramekin. It was served with tiny toasts, and it may be the best brandade I've ever had (and I'm comparing it to Cafe des Artistes in Manhattan). Our entrees were salmon, cooked to perfection, and steak frites. The steak was perfect, the frites thin and crisp, and the bearnaise butter piquant with tarragon. A delight. My advice- reservations! It was filling up with big parties as we left just at 7pm. In the Michelin rating: "worth a journey".

A different appetizer tonight. The Caesar Salad. Crunchy, crisp, cold, fresh local romaine, with not too much, not too little anchovy, with savory creamy dressing. Perfect. Combined with our always favorite, Fish and Chips, and excellent service, another wonderful dining experience at Bell and Anchor.

Delightful dinner at a very nice restaurant. Service was great and the food was spot on. A non assuming location, but don't judge a book by its cover folks. Definitely give this venue a go, because we will definitely be back.

This was an amazing restaurant with top food and takeout! We ordered Filet Mignon , Lobster and Flat Iron Steak! It was so delicious and nice and warm after a 20 minute drive home. Highly recommended the Arugula salad with goat cheese. Unfortunately the Caesar salad was too lemony to eat. But definitely will be going back. Pricey but worth it.

It was our one year anniversary, and we went for the good food and water views. Unfortunately we were sat all the way in a corner away from the windows, so we did not have any water views, but we still enjoyed the decor and modern atmosphere. I found the prices standard for the food and the area - $49 for a lobster (which was delicious). My husband really enjoyed the fish and chips. The dessert - a sundae, was just okay. Super small scoop of ice cream with a cold, hard brownie... not really worth it. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and had a lot of recommendations. I had to step out to make an unexpected important phone call during the meal, and they even took back my food to heat up for me... so thoughtful! When I made the reservation, they asked if we were celebrating anything special and I told them our first anniversary. When they called to confirm the reservation, the hostess even wished us a happy anniversary. I was hoping we'd get an extra romantic table or maybe something special with our dessert, but we did not. Overall though it was still a nice dining experience.

Great restaurant with great food and great attitude! We originally made a reservation here at 7pm for 6, but had a last minute change to 7:30pm when I called back for confirmation. Unfortunately, that wasn't communicated to the maitre'd and they called us at 7:30pm and said that we didn't show up and we're 30minutes late even though we're already in a taxi on our way there. Luckily by the time we got there, everyone was very apologetic about how it was a miscommunication and they even gave us a table by the corner window. Once we're seated, the guy who originally confirmed our reservation change came to our table and personally apologized. Just for that, we're impressed by the attitude of how they team handled the situation and made our dining experience not only excellent, but quite memorable in a positive way. Now onto the food, it was very good. My hubby and I ordered the appetizer specials of the day, salmon tartare (which has a good kick) and burrata. Then for entree, we got bouillabaisse and local fish. My in-law got ribs and flat iron streak. Everyone loved everything they ordered. Even the fries that came with the ribs were good. Would definitely recommend this place.

I don't know what happened to this place but the food is frankly terrible. First, the menu itself is extremely limited (and don't tell me it is because of Covid, I'm sick of hearing about it as it has become a crutch for the service industry). Without getting into all the details lets say that the executive chef better steps up his game, get a better quality product, and have offerings on the menu that reflect the type of clientele they are attempting to market to. Just an overall sad showing. I can say though over a two day period 3 restaurants were terrible. Until this weekend I never sent a dish back at a restaurant, and it happened twice in Sag Harbor. It is a shame too as I have friends that like this place very much s well as I up until this most recent visit.

SUPER NICE STAFF... I screwed up reservation, totally my fault and they couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Server was a super nice, very efficient guy, I was amazed how he kept up with all the tables he had, but he was great. Food was very good as well, came out exactly as ordered ... my only critique is, the place is insanely loud. You cannot have a normal conversation when the place is full. But other than that, fairly priced and very good food. I'd def go back.....

Best place we found on vacation. Reservations are a must, it gets full.
