I guess my first impression would be it is a little awkward and leaving our name and told to come back in 20 to 25 minutes, but I'll put that aside. When we came back, people just started lining up and saying that they two left their names. During that time, two women approached the hostess and said that they wanted a table for six. They were told they could not accommodate 6 due to the size of the restaurant. The ladies asked if they could just get two tables of three that did not need to be next to each other, and they were told they could not see three people, and they cannot split up parties. Let me just say, these were not young ladies. These were women at least in their 60s, so I don't see them being rowdy at all. When they asked again if they could be in a table of four and two, not needing to be with each other that they just wanted to eat, they were again told no. It seemed very ridiculous to me, and almost had me wanting to leave. I personally would not have wanted to pursue eating at that restaurant if I was repeatedly being told that they didn't want me as these poor people were. I understand if they were young kids and you were afraid they'd be yelling across the restaurant, or worried about splitting check or something of that nature, but when they just wanted to eat, and there happened to be six people, I don't see why they couldn't have two different tables.
As for our meal, once we were seated, we were pleasantly surprised with our pear Gorgonzola salad that my husband and I shared. We then shared the manicotti, which was good, but not great that I was immediately followed with heartburn.
Service was good, I wasn't thrilled that every time somebody passed they wanted to take my plate when I was not finished. At that point, it wasn't even busy and they had many empty tables, so I'm not sure what they were in such a hurry for.
Then you've got the music... It started out with like Hispanic music, then switch to an Italian song, back to some Hispanic, then country that was turned off mid song, then kind of some random music. Very strange ambience for a tiny Italian restaurant.
