Atlanta’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Atlanta

"After over two years in the build-out phase during the Pandemic, Bellwood Coffee re-opened its much-anticipated flagship cafe and roastery in Riverside in the first quarter of 2023. Since the grand opening nearly two years ago, Bellwood’s flagship location has hosted numerous events such as Jazz Night and open mic nights. The bar program was introduced last year, with craft cocktails available Wednesday to Saturday evenings. There’s also the East Atlanta Village location of Bellwood Coffee in collaboration with The Victorian." - Eugene Buchko

11 Hottest New Cocktail Spots Around Atlanta

"In Atlanta’s Upper Westside, Bellwood Coffee’s flagship has been brewing seasonal and classic coffee concoctions since 2019. What started as a pop-up cart has transformed into a coffee bar, roastery, kitchen, and, more recently, a cocktail bar. The Ezra (cold brew and vegan horchata) is always a good idea, but if looking for something a little stronger, the Spro-Tini is Bellwood’s take on an espresso martini made with cold brew concentrate and cognac. After a few cocktail pop-ups, Bellwood went official earlier this year with a drinks menu that includes notable sips like the School Night (a low ABV spritz with apple cinnamon, and caramel that “tastes like a fall festival”), the Sailor’s Surprise (a boozy gimlet riff with a fernet floater), and a mini Negroni flight. There are even spirit-free options like the FOMO (a bubbly pineapple drink) and the Garden Party." - Allison Ramirez, Eater Staff

Cute vibes! The food was the best part. Pickled onions and green salsa on a brisket breakfast taco… yes, please! I tried the Sunday Morning latte and it was good, but wish I would have tried one of the seasonal lattes that looked more unique. Love the plants and natural light!

This was my first time going to Bellwood Coffee and it definitely won’t be my last. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the customer service was excellent. The Ezra was the perfect amount of sweetness and my sister enjoyed her BEC sandwich and her Sunday morning drink.

I was in town for a conference and stopped here for some down time. I got a matcha latte with almond mild and lavender vanilla flavoring. It was delicious. The staff was super friendly and the vibe here is so welcoming. If I’m back in Atlanta, I’ll definitely be coming back here!

Just met up with a friend at Bellwood, and it turned out to be the perfect spot! The vibe was cozy and inviting, with a peaceful energy and a cool electric feel. I ordered the Barack on the Rocks (highly recommend!) and couldn’t resist grabbing a cinnamon bun—both were excellent choices. The lattes and pastries here are top-notch. The staff was super friendly, and I appreciated the variety of seating options, both indoors and on the outdoor patio. As for parking, there’s a decent amount of spots available. It probably depends on how busy the day is, which may affect availability. I arrived around 11 a.m. and had no trouble finding a spot.

One of the best coffee shops I’ve been too. Espresso is smooth not acidic or bitter. A true craft! Employees were polite and sweet. Vibes are very cool! Husband was obsessed with their butter caramel latte which tasted like a liquid pastry! Will be back ❤️

Ordered two cold brew coffees and a turkey BLT w/avocado and fries for $26 at my favorite local coffee shop. The music is loud but otherwise the vibes are immaculate and the food is very good, which I didn’t expected! I recommend Bellwood to anyone and still have it on my list to try their evening cocktails at some point.

Google
An awesome place to grab a light breakfast and coffee. The atmosphere is 11/10 for coffee shop lovers. The for here plates and mugs are thoughtful and match the entire theme of the shop. We tried two basic vanilla lattes and their in house made sausage pesto pop tart. The pop tart isn't an offering I see at many shops and I loved it as a savory option to have with coffee. It's got a warm spice kick to it too. The lattes are delicious and beautifully crafted. This shop is everything you could ask for out of a coffee shop!

After a yoga class upstairs, I stopped to get something to warm me up. I normally get a chai tea every time I visit a shop, but after browsing the menu, I came across a nice twist to my typical drink, the Barack on the Rocks. It was a great drink because it had the chai flavor I love + turmeric and ginger, and my alternative milk preference. It was like it was made for me. It was a heavenly blend of flavors and the perfect drinking temperature upon receiving. Having food and cocktails on the menu is a plus too. The staff was nice. The atmosphere was a great chill spot for remote work, a nice sweet hang, a fun spot to relax and play board games. It's very spacious with plenty of seating inside and out.

Yelp
lovely place, very cute atmosphere and lots of seating, although it was busy sunday morning! i've tried the other bellwood location but this one suits my wants from a coffee shop better and the latte (salted brown butter caramel) was delicious!

Yelp
Bellwood coffee is a cute, almost hidden coffee shop right off of Bolton Rd. I stopped by after work, in between my next move, and needed somewhere to get some work done. I didn't realize that they would be turning into. Valentine's day pop up after 5 but I stuck around and here's what I learned. Ambience: The vibe is cozy, cute and the atmosphere is friendly, as well as is the service! I was greeted upon arrival, described the menu items, and served to my table bar bites at the right temperature and with a quickness. The later it got, the place became packed and the music turned up slightly- chill soft music to enjoy while getting work done. Bites/ drinks: Here is where we lose 1star. I tried the pop up bar bite-the chips and queso- and on first bite the texture and taste were not tasty at all. Il have to be back again for when they are serving coffee. They were very polite and offered me something else which I do appreciate. Decor: lots of chairs, high tops, and a leather sofa so lots of room and options to sit and enjoy. I would come back for a coffee/ tea during the day time.

Yelp
This is a cute little coffee shop on the West side. There is a free surface lot right outside which usually makes parking a breeze. The staff behind the counter have always been friendly whenever I visit and the coffee drinks are executed with care. The only thing I wish is that there were more tables and outlets readily available so that I could consider this spot a great option to work from during the day. I went once in the evening and the only had a cocktail menu, not sure if that is only in the evenings or if those are also available during the day. All in all, a good experience and I will be back.

Yelp
My BFF lives near this Bellwood and she loves it! Whenever I come visit from NC we usually stop in. Service is great and ambiance is wonderful. Very cool relaxed coffee shop! Food and coffee is top notch!

Yelp
Bellwood Coffee was a nice find. We came at the wrong time it was very crowded. We did enjoy a cup of coffee and danish and took it to go. Finn was the friendliest barista and I really enjoyed him. We are coming back to enjoy the full Bellwood experience.

Yelp
This seems like a newer place and potentially in a newer development. There is a lot of seating and it is a warm, open space with a lot of natural light. There is an array of seating options including couches, stools and bar style seating, regular chairs and tables and different kinds of armchairs, so there are spaces for those who are there to work, other areas for those who want to read and relax, and good places for those who want to catch up with friends. I had an espresso and a pour over. The pour over was a washed Kenyan. I think it was a little under extracted, but the flavors were good. There was a bit of a raisin-y note that was interesting. The espresso was good, not great. The barista was friendly and drinks came out pretty quickly. When I was there (a Tuesday afternoon) they were somewhat crowded, but seating was available. They also had a good amount of comfortable-looking outdoor seating.

Yelp
Cute and cozy!! It can be harder to find a parking spot on the weekends and the shop is a bit on the noisier side.

Yelp
Beautiful day today in Atlanta I planned on doing some work away from home so I looked into some coffee shops near me and found Bellwood Coffee. The inside was beautiful just as advertised on google, a lot of space inside very well ventilated the cool air was everything today but I did decide to spend my time outside. I got a cappuccino and a cookie, unfortunately the only options they had left for eating was a cookie or a homemade poptart so I did not get a chance to see everything they had. That is on me though I got there kind of late and I guess that's a good sign for them that they were sold out. Cappuccino was delicious and I have never had a bad cookie before, (I don't know how you can mess a cookie up), I want to come back another time to see the different options they have for food, I'm not big into coffee so I get the same thing everytime. I know that is terrible but I'm growing don't judge me lol

Yelp
Stopped in and met a girlfriend for coffee. She found this spot, I had never heard of it. It's super cute. Low key. Fun interior. Big patio - plently of seating out and inside on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered 2 drinks and sat for 4 hours. No one bothered us until it was time to close which you know isn't unreasonable lol. Both drinks were perfect. I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Cute little stop, I came here to do a little work. They have WiFi, I never got the WiFi password though. There's someone what of plenty of parking. There's a residential lot being built on so until that's finished there is extra parking. There are plenty of places to sit but some areas are shared ( if you intend to or not ) . You're greeted with smiles when you walk in and plenty of greenery. I got the Sunday morning and it's light a has a subtle taste which I prefer. I'll come back with a group but for me personally I'd probably not come back alone. CUTE CUTE cups, and motivational since everyone else there seems to be working and talking business as well.

Yelp
Cute, cute coffee shop! What a great addition to Riverside. I was greater with smile! Staff are so friendly. Plenty of seating and beautiful decor. I ordered the Hazed and Confused (iced) and trust me, that's how I felt as the weather was so hot lol. Love the name. If you love hazelnut, you'll love this one.

Yelp
I've been here once for coffee/meeting a friend, and once for cocktails on a Friday evening (YES, COCKTAILS!) This is me telling you to go there for drinks--they are unreal! The coffee martini they have is better than any espresso martini. Creative drinks are definitely their forte. The only problem was the whole place was empty, so we need to give them more biz Best chill spot for cocktails.

Yelp
Industrial-retro design, sociable staff, delicious coffee. . . This new cafe checks off all the marks! Things you should know: I. PARKING There's parking directly out front. When I arrived on a weekday around noon, it was full! But don't worry, you'll see plenty of other parking areas nearby as you drive up to the location. II. SERVICE The staff member who took my order actually carried genuine conversation. It was above standard and not your superficial "how are you" lingo. I also liked that they provide a serve-yourself water station. III. QUALITY I got a cappuccino here and was pleased with not only the cute latte art and ceramic dishware but also the milk-to-espresso ratio. So we'll executed that I HAD TO order another! The interior design is applaud-worthy as well! I appreciate the owner's green thumb, nurturing the live plants everywhere. IV. CAPACITY Busy in the mornings but tapers off in the afternoon.

Yelp
My hubby and I have been a fan from the beginning, back when they were just a stand in the former restaurant space. Their drinks change seasonally but are always great. It's nice to see how the business has expanded and the workers are just as friendly as when the owners ran the stand themselves. The new space is beautifully and quaint. I keep telling my hubby to come and work from here because they have comfortable seating, wifi, and even a small upstairs patio area. Of course I enjoy the drinks and the coffee bags that we bring home, but I also enjoy their biscuits. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop! My friend and I drove over one Saturday morning to check it out. There is free parking out front. There is some construction in the area, but don't let that deter you. The coffee is very good and the biscuits they had when were there also were delicious. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Highly recommend, go check them out.

Yelp
This place use to be a cool spot where hung over hipsters and hung over wanna be hipsters came to get their overpriced but delicious coffee and baked goods. Now it has more kids running around than a little league soccer field. The vibes are ruined but the coffee is still good. Proceed with caution
google avatar

Yelp
Best coffee shop around. Their drinks are always consistent and good. Decor inside is A+, staff is A+. This is definitely one of our weekly staples being in the Smyrna/Mableton area.

Yelp
My new favorite coffee shop + work spot. Coffee? Great. Vibes? Immaculate. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Lots of outlets to sit and work. A solid coffee shop all around and my new go-to.

Yelp
The staff is so nice and they really know how to give the greatest coffee recommendations. I've tried every drink on the menu and it's amazing

Yelp
Best coffee shop in Atlanta. The drinks are consistently amazing and the baristas are all wonderful, making it great environment to hang out. 10/10.
