Visited in Feb '25. Great food balancing local tastes with creative cooking, and good drinks. The minimal sides were amazing. No hot beverages served and the place lacked a clear identity and consistency. Found it as Shymik's on Yelp. Michelin level potential but needs focus. The Good: Delightful server (and baby), attentive service, nice space (good bones), great wine list, excellent and varied menu. The recommended hen was outstanding, especially the remarkable carrot and parsnip puree sides. Pricing allows for both affordable and splurge-worthy options. The Not So Good: No coffee. Salad dressing was too strong. Slightly small portions of delicious food. One overpriced, tiny dessert. Most offerings justified the pricing, unlike other uninspired elevated casual spots in Evansville, which cost more than comparable cities. The nice space felt soulless, needing softening and an improved entrance. Hearing staff reprimands and casual profanity was off-putting.

The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The atmosphere was great. Relatively quiet in the dining room. The tables, chairs, and small plates were unique and memorable. From the charred sourdough bread with creative peach butter, mustard, and ricotta sauces (appetizer) to the beautifully presented smashburger and uneventful pommes frites, there was much to be desired. First impressions are impactful but not eternal. Those considering a visit should follow through. Here's to hoping for a good overall experience.

Best restaurant! The wine pairings are always spot on. The staff are phenomenal. Andy’s meals are always 11/10. Our favorite restaurant ❤️we love date nights here.

Waaay to loud, over priced food, long wait times. Watch other patrons look at each other wondering when the food is. Date ruined. Never again. I also booked a reservation three days in advance and still waited an hour for food

I have visited three times now, and everything I have ordered has been fantastic. It's next-level quality. The food is fresh, sometimes local, and far superior to what you typically find at most places. It's family-owned, and the staff is extremely friendly. It can take a bit of time when they are busy, so prepare for that aspect, and you won't be disappointed.

If i could give 0 for my experience I would. The server was yelled at unprofessionally by the cook while we stood at the doorway waiting for a seat for 23 minutes although we were told it would be 5. The old fashion was served in a cup so small that 3 sips were all I got out of it and the server is either high or completely wasted out her mind. I didn’t asked for a drink until 20 minutes into sitting, and she seemed completely confused about life which probably part of the reason was the disrespectful yelling from the cook or whoever that person was. Truly the worst experience I’ve had in A LONG TIME
