"Argentinian chef Mauricio Ghiglione brings the smoky flavors of his homeland to the parrilla (grill) at Belos Aires, now at a new location in the buzzy Baixa neighborhood. He incorporates Portuguese products, such as sea bass with carrots and thyme, but the real highlights of the menu are the meats, especially the chorizo and rib-eye. If you come craving Argentinian classics, know that Ghiglione also prepares amazing empanadas and a dulce de leche flan that is to die for." - Rafael Tonon

Steak: 6.5/10. Drinks: 9/10. Pasta: 7/10. Sweet potato side: 8/10... I eat a lot of beef at home in Canada. I make my own steak twice per week, typically. This one was just alright. I got a strip. The inside was cooked near perfectly. However, not a great sear and no real crust on it. Additionally, too much white fat on the side that was not rendered down. Basically, inside was cooked well but the outside was a letdown. Side was good. Pasta was alright (my partner had it). And the drinks were very good.

My fiancé and I were very excited to try this Argentinian restaurant. The service was great and the atmosphere was beautiful but the food was not. We ordered our steaks Medium and this is how they brought them out. They were practically purple and didn’t look cooked whatsoever.

One of the best Filet Mignon I’ve had very tender and good flavor. Great empanadas and great cocktails!!

We had lunch here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation and were able to eat outside with no problem. I got the Cavatelli, my husband got the Ossobuco and we shared the side of polenta. My pasta dish was delicious and the Ossobuco was so tender and juicy, you can eat it with a fork. The polenta was good, but not as hot as I would've liked it. We split a bottle of wine and water as well. Cost was 61.60€. The service was great and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend!

Got to the Argentinian restaurant at 5 pm for an early dinner. Dinner rush hadn’t started yet. Started with their lemonade, which comes unsweetened and a dish of sugar packets. Taught my son about vitamin C… lol. My son is notoriously hard to order for, but he settled for a chorizo empanada for him which was basically what Texans would call a sausage wrap with a toasted cracker-like pastry. My son liked it until 2/3rds through. I liked the remaining bit. We ordered the ossobuco with polenta which came out very beautifully. If I were to be nitpicky, the meat near the bone was tender and delicious but got a little dry on the edges. Never skip the bone marrow. Polenta was smooth and tasty. Could be a two-person dish if you’re not too hungry. We also had a tomato-based beef and cavatelli pasta dish that my son ended up loving and stealing from us. That made us really happy because he ate until he was full. All great food. Great service.

Fantastic! Our uber came super late and we ended up 35 minutes late to our reservation. They still squeezed us in (party of 6) with the condition that we only had 90 minutes until our table was needed. Food was delicious! Started with a beef empanada which was wonderful. We had a couple different steaks, the pumkin ravioli, cavetelli (delicious sauce) and ossobuco (the polenta was very plain but a must have once you added the sauce from the meat to it) and the spinach pasta. The porto sour was so good I ordered it twice. All 6 of us were very happy and that's a hard feat to accomplish 😆 $25-30 per person with 2 drinks per person plus appetizers to share. Worth it!!

The starters were all good, specially the la provoleta with tomatoes and foccacia and the mbeju. Good portion size, the provoleta you should definitely split with someone. The steaks came perfectly cooked, this is not an overstatement. The ideal would be to split 2 types of steak between 3 people. The ossobuco was great and came simmering in a very flavourful kind of broth. That broth paired with the polenta makes a lovely combination! The ossobuco portion size is huge, I would say you can split it. The side dishes are delicious as well, the pepper with the fried egg and provolone being my favourite. My only complaint is that the portions are too small for such a high price. But the quality is there. Overall, It is a very cool place to try since you get the chance to try different flavours you can't normally find. Also nice if you only want to have a good steak! The staff is very polite and knowledgeable about the menu, definitely well trained.

We had a delicious (albeit chilly—there were no tables inside) dinner here. The service was excellent, as well as the empanadas and the steak. The steak was easily the best we’ve had in our 3 weeks of travel through Portugal.
