Bến Thành Market sits right in the heart of District 1 and is considered one of Saigon’s most iconic landmarks. Inside, you can find just about everything – from dried foods, coffee, spices, and local specialties to souvenirs, clothing, handicrafts, and even delicious street food. The atmosphere here is lively and bustling, especially in the mornings and late afternoons. Visitors come not only to shop but also to soak in the vibrant pulse of the city. However, prices at Bến Thành Market are often not fixed. Many stalls tend to quote higher prices, especially to foreign tourists or those unfamiliar with bargaining. To get a fair deal, it’s best to check prices at several stalls, compare, and negotiate comfortably – after all, haggling is part of the authentic Vietnamese market experience! Overall, Bến Thành Market is well worth a visit if you want to catch a glimpse of old Saigon, pick up some local specialties, or find unique souvenirs. Just remember: don’t rush to buy from the first stall you see.

A great place to visit as a tourist. Food is delicious. sure the negotiations start out 3x what you can get it for versus the typical 2x, but people are nice, and it’s wonderful experience if you enjoy haggling for prices. Decent knock off stuff that is fairly inexpensive.

A Must-Visit Market for Culture, Food & Souvenirs Ben Thanh Market is one of the most iconic and vibrant spots in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a great place to explore if you’re into local culture, street food, and souvenir shopping. The market is packed with stalls offering everything from traditional Vietnamese clothing and silk scarves to spices, coffee, and handmade crafts. The food section is especially exciting—plenty of local dishes like pho, fresh fruit smoothies, and sweet treats. It’s a great place to try authentic Vietnamese flavors in a lively setting. The market can get busy and a bit overwhelming, but that’s part of the charm. Bargaining is common, so don’t hesitate to negotiate prices. There are also fixed-price stalls if you prefer a more straightforward shopping experience. Centrally located and open until late, it’s a convenient stop whether you’re shopping, eating, or just soaking in the local vibe. THERE IS NO AC PLEASE TO WEAR Sleeveless DRESS

The prices inside the market are dramatically high, while the souvenirs at the fixed-price shops just outside are much more reasonable. For example, a magnet that goes for over $5 in the market can be found for just a little over $1 outside. If you try bargaining inside, be prepared to get an eye-roll or even a sarcastic, annoyed remark—that’s simply part of the haggling experience. On the bright side, the food stalls inside the market are pretty good, and their prices are still fairly acceptable.

It was a good experience to see so many sellers gather into one spot to sale the same things! I don't think it's the best place to do shopping unless you love walking around and around comparing price and haggle with these local sellers. If you just set a bar for how much you want to pay for certain things and find that price then it's okay. It's definitely an experience places where you just walk around looking at products while people talk to you none stop. A lots of them would learn different languages to try to make you stop at their shops. They have fresh food market on one side and that's not bad a bad price for fresh fruits if you want to eat some different SEA fruits. The price is not the cheapest but being sell in district 1 is definitely gonna change how much they have to sale. Still very tasty fruits!

The place is well kept, and the dry market section is fairly organized with sections for 1-day coat/dress making, shirts, cute souvenirs trinkets, dried fruits & nuts, loose leaf tea and coffee beans. The prices vary but sellers offer huge discount especially when you buy more than 1 item. Just be cautious as some sellers can be very persistent. Despite the crowd, I feel safe walking around because there’s plenty of uniformed officers patrolling, and stationed around the market.

A very busy, bustling market full of food, drinks, merchandise, fabrics for tailoring, shoes, bags, trinkets of all kind. Be prepared to be sold / called out to constantly here so take your time or go in with a plan of what you want. Take the time to chat and you'll find there's some lovely honest vendors but get ready to haggle. They are all up for negotiation, but remember they're doing their job by selling. Busy and hot, so come prepared and quench your thirst with some amazing frozen smoothies or cold coconuts!

Good place to buy coffee and candy, but remember to lower half of the price Don’t eat here cuz it tastes bad and the service was poor. The pictures i posted was where i dined, the lady was rude. The rice paper rolls were hard and tastes like chips, hard to eat but she’s refused to redo or cancel the item
