This Lincoln Heights spot does it all: there’s a giant patio filled with wooden benches and tree stumps that feels like a grown-up overnight camp, food pop-ups happen most nights, and, of course, the beer is flowing. "A Lincoln Heights brewery and cidery that keeps a steady rotation of pop-up food programs; during one weekend a Texas-style barbecue specialist was on-site serving barbecue trays with brisket, pork, mac and cheese, grits, and more, but the real standout was a Japanese curry rice bowl with brisket. Slightly spicy, rich Japanese curry is spooned over sticky white rice and topped with a thick-cut slice of smoky brisket. While beef is a common addition to Japanese curry, this version let the brisket stand out rather than blending into the dish, adding a rich savoriness that paired well with the gently sweet curry base, leaving the reviewer wondering what other barbecue meats would work with curry.
