"Off from the main drag, this simple shop is run by the owner-chef, affectionately known as béo ơi or "fat boy" by regulars, who come in droves during lunch hours. The menu features generous portions of Hanoian home-style cooking, including bún riêu cua, a flavoursome tomato crab soup topped with crispy deep-fried tofu. Order a couple of sides for a complete meal. Or go with friends and opt for a hot pot dinner with the tasty soup as a base." - Michelin Inspector

A cosy place to eat hidden inside an alley. Loved the bun rieu & all the dishes ordered. Went for dinner & did not have to wait long for food. Service was polite & helpful...truly wonderful dining experience ♥️ highly recommended

Michelin 2025. Hidden Gem in Ho Chi Minh. Affordable food with medium size serving good for 2-3 average eating person. 600 meters walk from Post Office. You need to enter an alley to find this place.

This charming little restaurant with a retro, cozy feel might be one of my new favorite places in HCMC! I tried the bún riêu cua recommended by the Michelin guide and the honey kumquat tea and chả cốm chiên recommended by the nice lady helping me. Everything was absolutely delicious, with interesting and complex flavors to savor. (Definitely add the chile oil to the bún riêu cua, and use the spicy-savory dipping sauce for the chả cốm chiên.). The atmosphere was very peaceful and inviting, and the staff were all very patient and kind. I will definitely return!

Béo Ơi Quán is a local restaurant where you can enjoy Hanoi-style homemade dishes, selected in the Michelin Guide 2024. I learned about this place from Nammy Mikami's YouTube channel, "Nammy Mikami's Vietnam Noir Walk" (*interpretive translation). I ordered one Bún riêu cua (45K VND) and one Trà đá (5K VND). The Bún riêu cua was my best Bún riêu. The soup had a rich crab flavor and umami, perfectly matched with the acidity of the tomato. The thin Bún noodles didn't have much firmness, but they absorbed the soup very well, similar to Japanese Nyumen (Warm Somen Noodles in Broth). The coriander is added afterward, and you can adjust the spiciness with the Sa tế on the table. Inside the restaurant, there's one air circulator, but some might find it a bit hot, though it's understandable given it's Vietnam. I thought the quality of the food offered great value for the price. I think I will visit this place again to eat Bún riêu cua.

It's Vietnamese reataurant, which was selected as "Selected" by Michelin and located in the very small street (Hem), and there is no sing at the Entrance of the street. But once you get in, there is nice restaurant and the atmosphere was really good and ethnic. I visited around 3pm, so not so many people were there, so it was so comfortable. Staffs wdre really good and friendly, and helpful to select the menu. I had Bun noodle and one Nem Chua Chien (Fried Fermented Pork). Both of them were reallt nice and not expensive. It's not far from the center of town, so it's also perfect for tourist too.

Had a wonderful time here— great service!! They’re really kind people who work here. I will say the bún riêu cua could be more flavorful. The broth is a little bland compared to other places I’ve been to in Saigon. The restaurant has so many dishes though— I’d like to come back and try the other menu items!

The restaurant is located in a small alley, very pretty and pleasant. The food is well seasoned, I feel the taste of the North, next time I will try hot pot
