Béo Ơi Quán is a local restaurant where you can enjoy Hanoi-style homemade dishes, selected in the Michelin Guide 2024. I learned about this place from Nammy Mikami's YouTube channel, "Nammy Mikami's Vietnam Noir Walk" (*interpretive translation). I ordered one Bún riêu cua (45K VND) and one Trà đá (5K VND). The Bún riêu cua was my best Bún riêu. The soup had a rich crab flavor and umami, perfectly matched with the acidity of the tomato. The thin Bún noodles didn't have much firmness, but they absorbed the soup very well, similar to Japanese Nyumen (Warm Somen Noodles in Broth). The coriander is added afterward, and you can adjust the spiciness with the Sa tế on the table. Inside the restaurant, there's one air circulator, but some might find it a bit hot, though it's understandable given it's Vietnam. I thought the quality of the food offered great value for the price. I think I will visit this place again to eat Bún riêu cua.
