The Best Austin Restaurant Dishes of 2021, According to Eater Austin Editors - Eater Austin

"Because I was already in what I deemed as far, far, far North Austin, we decided to grab dinner from new-to-me Vietnamese restaurant since I know several trustworthy people who have raved about the menu. They were not wrong. The hu tieu ap chao had wonderfully chewy pan-fried noodles with loads of vegetables; the banh xeo was ginormous, the fried crepe overflowing with bean sprouts; and the red curry was tasty. My absolute favorite item was the little banh knot: perfect rice cakes topped with a great mix of shrimp, mung beans, and a dollop of coconut milk. —NC" - Nadia Chaudhury, Erin Russell

Another authentic Asian restaurant on the books! Vietnamese home style hot pot was amazing! My Vietnamese friend took me here to have a feel of the home staple for Vietnamese homes. Apparently sweeter on the south part of Vietnam than the North. Great spot for me as I do not like too sweet main dish. We had Fish hot pot, omg the noodles PLUS—-the Vietnamese crepe! Was up high on the bar! Had jellyfish salad and that was surprisingly good, not much of a fan of the last thing we ate I forgot what it’s called! Amazing menu and service! Lots of families celebrating when we went. Straightforward, yet clean and home like place. The price was so surprisingly affordable!

Very yummy and crunchy all 3 dishes we ordered, Vietnamese crepe- bánh xèo, bánh khọt, and fried crispy noodle with beef and veggies. Yummy Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea. Excellent customer service. Will come back👍

Google
Friendly neighborhood Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. They offer a wider variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes that you don’t see often in Austin. The quality of the food here is amazing, I haven’t ordered a dish I haven’t liked. Today, I ordered the deep fried dough and egg dish and my boyfriend ordered Bun Bo Hue. This dough dish is one of my favorite foods to eat and Bep Saigon didn’t disappoint. It was my boyfriend’s first time trying BBH and he was happy he got to try it. This place is a staple for me and local treasure, service is always friendly and it’s always busy! I hope to be coming back for years to come.

Bep Saigon is one of the underrated Vietnamese restaurants in Austin. They just changed ownership recently. There are a ton of menu items, both Vietnamese and Chinese items too but the Vietnamese stuff is the star of the show. We ordered some of the classic Vietnamese dishes like braised catfish (ca kho to) and canh chua (soup). We also enjoyed banh bot chien and bo luc lac (shaken beef). Everything was delicious and I would order these items again. The parking lot is shared in the plaza so plenty of space. Noise level is pretty low. Service was quick and very friendly.

Google
always so good, never been disappointed when we come in. our favorite appetizer is the rice cake pancake. we always rotate between the braised pork or catfish, bun bo hue, ap chao, shaken steak and yellow curry. i want to give a little kiss to everyone on their foreheads!

Google
Bep Saigon is a great place to eat Vietnamese food. I love their shrimp 🍤 spring rolls. They have seating available and take out too. I love their coconut juice with the slices of coconut at the bottom. This drink is absolutely delicious and worth it. The food was delicious as well. We ordered their fried dough dish. We also ordered their noodle and veggies plate. Which was good and flavorful with the sauce on the side. They have different kinds of sauces available on the tables.

Google
I've been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and i wish this place was close to me ... Sticking with good recipes and not trying to reinvent anything, quality of ingredients and care in cooking takes the food to a whole new level. Amazing food. Nothing to sleep on, service was amazing. Great people here - thank you for a wonderful meal 🙏

Recommended dishes: mực chiên giòn & hủ tíu áp chảo. The food taste great and our servers are friendly! I'd be back here when I visit Austin

Yelp
One of the Vietnamese restaurants I continue to go to! The service is quick and I've taken my parents here. It is việt parent approved We love the noodle dishes and fried flat noodles!

Yelp
Ordered the Bun Thit Cha Gin (Vermicili bowl with Pork and egg rolls) and it was a sizable portion. Easily two or three meals and very generous. The pork was well seasoned and not too fatty. Also they are very generous with the egg rolls in this dish. Most other Vietnamese restaurants only give two egg rolls - this had a whole layer of bite sized egg roll pieces. This place is popular being so close to all the office parks in Tech Ridge and there are many reputable local food bloggers that rank this up in their lists. Can't wait to try their other dishes to get a better gauge where they compare with other classics in Austin.

Yelp
Went here because I saw the recs from Facebook. Between 4 of us we shared: - Banh khot - Canh chua (small) - Pork belly clay pot - Fried noodle special Banh khot was good, but felt like the portions were small. It looked like it was made in a takoyaki pan and then cut in half since there were "blank" baby pieces. For the price I expected more. The soup portion was much bigger than we expected for the size we ordered, so this felt like a generous serving. The fried noodle was pretty good! I enjoyed the texture of the noodle. We got the combo but I was a bit sad that tofu wasn't included. Pork belly clay pot was really small too. The fried boiled egg was interesting but I don't think it was worth the price. Overall they have some good more unique options in Austin but you pay for it!

Yelp
Tasty. My word for this place. I tried it another time before but didn't write a review yet and I heard so many great things about it so I had to try then. I also know my friend's mom works here too so I intend to visit. So that first time I was glad to have tried. The 3 dishes she recommended were the ap chao, bun bo hue and shaking beef so I knew I had to get those at least. And sure enough I loved the ap chao then and the shaking beef was so darn tasty! Both so good! The bun bo hue was good too but it was just too rich and sweet for me BUT it's supposed to be that way. So do get it if you like that dish. Ok 2nd time I came here we came because my elderly mom wanted pho and most pho places close so early on weekdays but this place didn't so I chose it for a family dinner that night. My mom enjoyed her pho and even took some home. 1 thing I like about this place is that they give so much! It's really shareable and you will have leftovers. I had to get the ap chao and shaking beef again and sure enough it didn't disappoint. The beef was better this time meanwhile the ap chao was better the first time for lunch. Not sure why. My husband loves Vietnamese pancakes and when we saw how big it was at the table next to us we had to get it. He loved it! My boys got the pad Thai lol not sure why even the waiter was like get something else ha but they did enjoy it. My girl got this stir fry noodle dish and she really liked it too. So all in all it was all very tasty. The place is nice and spacious and clean too. It's so near our schools and house. It's a good find. It's just in a peculiar shopping area and easy to miss but everything we've ordered has been tasty. They have an extensive menu too and oh it's priced a bit higher than other places near $20s on some dishes but again their plates are huge. Well worth! Enjoy!

Yelp
How is this place not more popular? Came here with a small group for dinnertime and we were promptly seated. They have a pretty extensive menu with lots of different items to choose from, all of which are very filling. The bo luc lac was very tender, had a balanced flavor, and came with a bowl of rice. The canh chua was delicious! It was a big portion with sweet flavor, a crunch from the okra and bean sprouts, and a generous amount of fish. The side of fish sauce added an extra depth of flavor. The ca kho to was tender with a delectable caramelized flavor. This was my first time trying banh bot chien and it was addicting. It was crispy, savory, and salty. The prices were reasonable, service was good, and there was plenty of parking right out front.

Yelp
Quick service, we sat down and ordered quickly. Our food came out pretty quick. The Bo luc lac was the best I've had in Austin! Such great flavor. It was pricy but well worth it. The bun rieu was good but it was missing the rieu. There was only one piece of rieu which wasn't enough for a dish called bun rieu. It's less shrimpy flavor than what I like but it was still good. They give a lot of noodles though so it was definitely filling. Will for sure be back to try the bun Bo hue!

Yelp
My friend wanted to take me out for Asian food and asked where I wanted to go. I found this restaurant with the help of Google. She is a vegetarian and finds it frequently difficult to find an Asian restaurant that can accommodate her. When I told her the name and she researched it, she said, "why haven't I ever heard of this place?" Of course she had to call them with a few questions plus many more when we arrived. The server was very patient and answered all of her questions. I started with the hot and sour soup (brimming with goodness) and she ordered Tofu Spring Rolls. The tofu is fried to make it more solid in the wrapper packed with lettuce and rice noodles to dip in a peanut sauce. It was pretty tasty! Forgot to take a photo I had the Hu Tieu Xao Mem - stir fried flat rice noodles with chicken. She ordered the Happy Family with Tofu - Spicy style. Both orders were very large (I could only eat half). It had a great amount of chicken and vegetables in a brown sauce. I had to add some soy and hoisin sauce plus chili oil but it was more than I could have imagined. The tofu dish was great well. The server suggested that she have the Happy Family combo meal with an egg roll and hot and sour soup which was about the same price. We will definitely be back to try more dishes. Nice plus - we were able to bring our own bottle of wine.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant after helping my sister move into her new apartment. We arrived with my family around 1 PM on a Saturday, and surprisingly, the place wasn't bustling with customers. However, service was quite slow, seemingly due to having only two waiters present--one preoccupied with addressing a mistaken order, while the other was occupied with silverware and not entirely attentive to customers. The restaurant is a bit small, accommodated larger groups by combining tables, which was convenient for us. I ordered the Hu Tieu Ap Chao (crispy rice noodles) with beef, and it was delightful. The noodles maintained a pleasant crunch despite being coated in sauce. My mom thoroughly enjoyed the Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, and the Mi Xao Don, which is a meaningful approval, especially from a Vietnamese mother. Despite the enjoyable food, the overall experience was somewhat marred by the slower service that day. Additionally, it's worth noting that the prices lean a bit towards the expensive side for Vietnamese cuisine, but that seems to be the norm in Austin, especially for Asian food.

Yelp
This restaurant caught my attention on Yelp, and my mom and I decided to try it. I'm so glad we did! Overall, the service was great, the food came out fast, it had a casual ambiance, and it was really tasty. Next time I'm in town, I would visit again. For appetizers, we ordered the Cha Gio Thit (fried egg rolls) and the Banh Khot (mini Vietnamese rice cakes). The filling and and the wrapper of the egg rolls were good, but not anything special. Also, I wish they were served with nuoc mam (fish sauce) instead of sweet chili sauce. I preferred the Banh Khot, and it happened to be my favorite out of all the dishes we ordered. They were crispy, slightly chewy, savory, and a flavor bomb in every piece. I could scarf down three of these plates as an actual meal. The Bun Bo Hue (spicy Vietnamese noodle soup) was pretty good as well, and I liked how generous they were with the amount of meat. In addition, the broth was super flavorful, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I thought extra like was needed, but they give you wedges on the side. Overall, the whole meal was super delicious!

Yelp
Solid Asian spot near Parmer and 35. Nice decor, great open kitchen feel. Friendly and expedient service. Food is good, nothing stellar. Prices are a little high for what you get, I was charged slightly higher than what the menu pricing showed for two different dishes. Also, no real lunch menu options that were of significant savings. If this was closer near downtown I would possibly visit again, just not good enough to make the 20+ minute drive over to is all. Tasty Bún bò Huế - filling amount of ingredients, slightly too oily IMO.

Yelp
We went to try this spot after hearing the ownership changed. I ordered the bun Bo hue which is my go to at authentic Vietnamese spots. The broth was really flavorful when it first arrived, but after adding the cabbage it made the broth completely bland, which I have never experienced before either bun Bo hue. I had to add too small cups of shrimp paste to get the flavor back. My partner ordered the pho which was decent but not very flavorful either. We also got the ban khot which we both really liked, and the portions were plenty. We shared the Ca Kho To which had really good flavor and sauce, but we both felt like it had a really strong fishy taste to it which was off putting. Service was good and fast otherwise for a weekday night. Maybe we came on an off night, but we will be back to give it another chance.

Yelp
I have been here many times and the service has just gone downhill. Today my egg roll was cold. The food was hot and good, but I got yesterday's egg roll with it. The staff seated me in their takeout table and really rudely made me move...because I was sitting where they put takeout orders, when that's where they had me sit. No real biggie except they should have been nice about their mistake, but then after getting my food, never came back at all. I needed a takeout container and had to flag someone down twice to get noticed. This has been the case the past few times. It's coming off the rotation as of now. It's a shame, because it's right by work and it used to be really reliable.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Service was outstanding and the food came out super hot and so yummy. Will definitely be coming back here!

Yelp
We arrived right before 4pm and thankfully they allowed us to still order from the lunch menu. The service was great and we were well attended to. With the lunch menu, you can substitute the soup for an extra egg roll.

Yelp
I love the food here!! This was my first time here and I am such a fan. The Hu Tieu Ap Chao was sooo yummy. I don't like sweet Chinese food so this was perfect and super savory. I got the combo option which I highly recommend. The hot and sour soup was good as well, just not as great as my entree. The fried flat rice noodles are perfectly cooked too. It's cute inside the restaurant but I just got my food to go and the service was great! They were very quick.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
I recently took my parents here and they are pretty picky when it comes to Vietnamese food. We ordered the hot pot and it was pretty good. They were pretty impress with the food and would definitely come back! My brother crunchy fried egg noddles and it came out good and crispy! We also ordered the salt and pepper calamari came out very flavorful and crispy. Can't wait to try different dishes next time.

LEIGH ANN B.

Yelp
Ordered bun thit. It was really really good a lot of meat. A full bowl and crispy eggrolls. Generous serving. Serving was a little bit slow but they were busy. In general. Very good dining experience. I have to takeoff a point though for the odor in the bathroom, it really should get fixed
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
good authentic viet food! got the braised caramelized fish and the bun bo hue, both were great! came on a sunday afternoon and waited about 10mins for table.
google avatar

Adelynn G.

Yelp
Took a little long to get someone to take my order as someone who went alone. Food was good, but not the best that I've tried. I don't think it was too bad, but I'll try a different dish the next time I go! The staff was also very friendly. The place looked clean and had nice lighting too.
google avatar

Yelp
Small place in an industrial park but really nice inside. Open and small with an open kitchen Was seated right away and order taken quickly I travel all over the US, and always go to to Vietnamese places. Always trying to find good food. One of my favorite dishes is "fishy rice". Don't recall the actual name but I've always called it fishy rice. Not a big hit in America, and when I do find it on a menu, when I order it I'm usually told they don't have it. I was happy to see it on the menu here and immediately ordered it. I pared it with the fresh spring roll with shrimp. The rice was amazing. Just like it was at my favorite place. Full of salty fish and just perfect. Spring rolls were good too. Washed it all down with a Vietnamese iced coffee. Great food

Yelp
I was very impressed by the service and the food at Bep Saigon Asian Kitchen. You've been here three times already and already looking forward to our next visit. The soups are really good. I'm impressed by how fresh they are upon service and their café Sudha, iced coffee is as good as it gets. It's nice to know that when you walk into a restaurant, the servers, no, the regulars really fast. Even after our first visit, a few of the workers recognized us coming to the door and gave us our same booth. The restaurant is very clean. It also smells clean. I do look for that when entering the establishments. Sometimes food smells, can be offputting, so walking in and smelling good food... Good aroma... Enhances the experience!
google avatar

Winnie T.

Yelp
Place has good amount of seating inside and outside the restaurant. Pretty much a self-served place. Best to come with at most 4 people. Not too many food and drink items to select from but buns were soft, meat could be a bit more flavorful though in my opinion. They offer the food in trays that's used to steam the buns which is pretty cute. I got the combo with 2 buns and 1 drink which was enough for me. The Sichuan fries were pretty normal. I thought it'd be more spicy by itself, but they gave us this tangy sauce instead that didn't mesh well with them. I wish there were more options for sauce to choose from. I think food is okay. Otherwise, it's a decent place to stop by for their boba drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Asian food I've had since I moved back to Texas! We stopped in yesterday for a late lunch and were immediately greeted at the door and were shown to a table. The entire staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We ordered chicken fried rice, kung pao shrimp and the flat noodles. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Even the egg drop soup. I highly recommend! We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
As a Vietnamese, I has e been searching for a good, authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Austin. This place is definitely one of the best. The flavors were fantastic, the place was clean and roomy. The extensive menu offered a variety of authentic dishes that reminded me of my mom's cooking. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back for more!
google avatar

Ryan W.

Yelp
I've eaten here 3 times in the past week. Two of the three meals were dine in and the staff was kind, attentive and exceeded our expectations. My to go order was placed online and I mistakenly ordered an entree BUT it too was delicious and left me wanting more. Those who were patiently waiting for tables or to go orders were greeted with kind eyes and thoughtful suggestions. The pleasant spacing of tables ensured a cozy meal.
google avatar

Simon P.

Yelp
Don't understand why this place has such high reviews. We ordered salt and pepper shrimp and bun Bo hue. BBH is not authentic (not hue style). Broth should be clearer, less sweet and need more lemongrass! Salt and pepper shrimp plating looks impressive but it's made with farm raised shrimp... the shrimps are not bouncy / nor taste like shrimps. I know they have to make profit somehow. I would've been okay w smaller shrimps but better quality ones. Nothing really stand out for me. Maybe their other dishes are better

Yelp
This establishment continues to be my favorite Vietnamese in the Austin area. Fabulous, fresh, & delectable offerings. The owners and staff are among the most gracious people I've ever encountered in Central Texas. They always remember us and are very accommodating of my Mom (who is somewhat of novice when it comes to SE Asian cuisine). The atmosphere is very clean and modern. Love the open kitchen design! We will continue to happily patronize Bep Saigon whenever we are in the area.

Sam V.

Yelp
Love this place! I would eat the Vietnamese Crepe (Banh Xeo) twice a week if I lived closer to Austin. Service is great too.
google avatar

Deborah L.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday for dinner and it was easy to find a table and get our order in. The brisket pho was a solid dish - delicious broth and fresh veggies. The noods were perfect and the beef portion was right. Being of Vietnamese heritage myself, I had to order something other than pho, so bun rieu was my go to. It came out hot and packed with protein! It is a mixture of tomato, tofu, pork sausage, crab meatballs in a tomato based broth and vermicelli noodles. Topped with lots of scallions and fresh lettuce (sometimes cabbage) and bean sprouts if you want. The wait staff was very attentive and offered me a to go water and extra bowl for my toddler. If you come between 11-3, you can order their lunch specials that come with a protein, rice, eggroll, soup and tea.
google avatar

Denise T.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Love that this Vietnamese restaurant has more than just pho and bun. Their rau muong xao was good but their bun bo hue and bo luc lac were amazing! Will definitely be back to try their other dishes!
google avatar

Hal F.

Yelp
I went for lunch with some business associates yesterday. It was really good, delicious Pha (vegetarian with beef stock), we got the spring rolls, a red curry shrimp dish and vegetable tofu. Everything was really fab. Service was excellent, attentive but not annoying...definitely going back for the food, and it is close.
google avatar

Yvonne P.

Yelp
Not pho noodles I think it was just healthy version they have. I like my phở more flavorful and little more fattening and more like bone marrow tastes I have tried bánh khọt, bánh bột chiên trứng and other things and I like.
google avatar

Kannan H.

Yelp
Honestly, the food is good but not mind blowing. It is a bit pricy but it is Austin. Service is good, no complaints there. The restaurant feels clean, overall looking well maintained.
google avatar

Yelp
This was the first pho encounter I had when scouting for housing in Austin back in 2021. I always go with flank steak with my pho but this was the first time that I opted for the brisket pho. It did not disappoint. They served a heaping bowl with all the add ins (noodles, bean sprouts, basil, hoisin and hot sauce) packaged conveniently in what looked like a custom made cardboard/ plastic bag mix that ensured that my soup wouldn't spill in the car on the way back to my hotel. Staff was super friendly and I wish I had dined in because the ambiance of the joint was chill, the aroma was powerful and everyone dining there was definitely enjoying their meals. Next time.

Yelp
Being from Houston, I've been on the hunt for a yummy authentic Vietnamese spot in Austin. This really impressed me! We got their Ca Kho To(7/10), Canh Chua(9/10), and Hu Tieu Ap Chao(10/10). Everything was so good, and quick to come out. Will be back.

Rici T.

Yelp
I ordered takeout. My food was ready on time and waiting. It took me about 4seconds to be in and out and in that time, the restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and the price was fair. I got pho, salt and pepper squid, spring rolls and these little shrimp, pancake things. Everything was fresh. I prefer my salt and pepper squid spicier but that was my only negative. Of all the pho places near my hotel, I'm glad I chose this one!

Yelp
Went to Bep Saigon on a Sunday morning. My dad was craving bun Bo hue and my nail tech recommended them. They were pretty busy at 11:30 AM, must have been the after church crowd. The portions were great and they use Quality meat. My complaints are the blandness of the broth. My mom and I split an order of Banh xeo and this was good. They do use a lot of bean sprouts compared to their meat ratio but the flavors are their. Also the fish sauce dip was tasty. Our order of 2 bbh and 1 Banh xeo was ~$40

Happy S.

Yelp
Great service. We order the wonton soup and the crepes. Very yummy. We go there at least 1x month.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Okay there must be a massive inconsistency with each chef on certain days or something. I really only come here for their banh khot, hu tieu ap chao and bun rieu. So I am able to tell when something changes in these three dishes. Like the previous review on the hu tieu ap chao. We had it on Sunday, still good~~. Bun rieu on the other hand was noticeably different. The broth was more of your standard hu tieu porky broth. It had lost it's nice sour tomato-y semi red luster it had once have. And the rieu/patties were more of xiu mai/meatballs texture. Other than that service is good and hu tieu ap chao gets above average grading once more.

Yelp
Not many people get Vietnamese for lunch on their birthday, but I do, mainly because I wanted to have a bottle of wine brought from home plus I had a hankering for some good Asian. The first thing I notice is that when I arrived, almost everyone at the restaurant seemed to be Vietnamese/Asian, Given how popular Austin is nowadays and the influencer scene, that was a good sign in my mind. The second thing I notice is their menu has plenty of Thai and Chinese food. It's hard to say whether they do those well, but we did order a yellow curry, which was cooked very well. Our favorite was the Hu Tieu Ap Chao (pan fried flat rice noodles), totally the star dish, the crispy noodles and the saucy vegetables make for a great combo. The Banh Xeo (crepe) was okay, personally I wish the bean sprouts were a bit more cooked. The ladies at Bep Saigon were attentive, I had called ahead about bringing in the wine and when I asked if I could get some glasses, they also brought a corkscrew (though my bottle was a screwcap), but I appreciate the consideration! I understand it's weird to go to a Vietnamese place and not order pho but given their specials, it's definitely worth a detour; plus coming from Houston, we all know where the pho kings are at ;) I give Bep Saigon 4 nguyens in a yearbook, out of 5.

Yelp
We were in the Parmer/I35 area today and made a return visit to Bep Saigon. The service is still excellent. The food is great! I ordered the spicy hunan beef and extra spicy. It was really hot--just the way I like it. The place is spotless and they are taking all Covid precautions.

Yelp
My husband and I are a regular here! We were even regulars before new ownership took over. What we have realized is that consistency in their dishes is where they fall short. I am a big fan of their vermicelli pork bowl (Bun Thịt Nướng) and that is my usual go to order. I find that every time I order it whether it be for lunch or dinner, the texture of the meat is inconsistent. I'm assuming this is because of change in chef or they might be using different cuts of pork. Sometimes the pork is dry and sometimes it is cooked to perfection. I find their vermicelli bowls are the best in town but it saddens me that I have to write this honest review. The inconsistency also applies to other of their specialty dishes too. I hope management can make sure they improve on quality control and consistency in the kitchen.

Yelp
Great food, very friendly staff. Highly recommend the curry and the garlic pork. Their Thai tea was really enjoyable.

Yelp
Bep Saigon is one of my favorite go-to Vietnamese restaurants in Austin. There aren't a ton of places that serve traditional Vietnamese comfort food, so it's refreshing to find a place that has dishes I grew up eating. The prices are unfortunately won't what you'll find in, say, Houston, but that's unfortunately the state of things in Austin. However, I think the portion sizes definitely make up for it. They've got a little bit of everything to satisfy your craving. The canh chua and thit kho hit the spot when I'm missing my mom's cooking and too lazy to cook for myself. I love their options for Chinese-American dishes where you can choose a sauce and the protein it's cooked with. Their orange sauce is amazing and you can't go wrong with orange chicken. The banh bot chien makes for an amazing appetizer, though it could probably be an entree all on its own. It tastes just like the ones I've had in the streets of Vietnam. Their com chien Duong Chau is one of my favorite fried rice in Austin, and I love how much flavor is packed into such a simple dish. Their grilled meats also taste very fresh and are very well seasoned. You can substitute the rice noodles for white rice. The staff is also super friendly and so cute. You know a place is authentic when the Vietnanese aunties are sitting at their own table having hot pot in between serving customers.

Yelp
I dropped into Bep Saigon on a quiet week night and had a really nice Vietnamese meal. I always order the Bun Thit Nuong with egg rolls, and Bep Saigon has a good version of this dish. Portions were ample, and all the elements were fresh and delicious. The pork featured a really intense glaze with more flavor and texture than the norm. The dish was not cheap at about $15, but inflation is what it is, and there are a lot of nice elements going on in this bun. Service was very friendly, and ambience was the typical utilitarian vibe to be found in most Vietnamest joints. Overall, I'll gladly add Bep Saigon to my Bun rotation and pop in regularly while my son is at soccer practice down the road.

Yelp
Their pho is ok, but Bun Bo Hue is a rock star! The flavor is right and good portion. I don't recommend other dishes though (banh xeo, com ga hai nam), they were just so so. Their Bun Bo Hue is the best in the menu I think.

Yelp
Came here on a whim and gave it a shot because of the great reviews on Yelp. It was pretty hot inside so I wouldn't recommend getting pho in the summertime unless you're ready to s w e a t. I got the vermicelli with grilled pork and an egg roll. The noodles + veggies were good, and the pork was different from the sweet, thinly sliced pork I usually see at other Vietnamese restaurants. The egg roll tasted like one of those frozen egg rolls you get at cheap Asian restaurants w/ cabbage, chicken, celery, etc. I was a little disappointed with this place food-wise. The service was good though! Will probably stick with my usuals (Pho Dan or Pho Saigon) next time.
