The 15 Essential Berkshires Restaurants

"There are plenty of excellent bakeries, cute cafes, and upscale pizza places in the Berkshires, but none hold a candle to the Berkshire Mountain Bakery. The main bakery is in Housatonic, sitting in an old paper mill right on the banks of the town’s namesake river, churning out hundreds of bread loaves and pizza crusts using traditional techniques. Stop in for fresh bread or a pizza, sold either by the slice or take-and-bake. Twenty miles upstream, its Pittsfield outpost adds sandwiches, cheeses, and frozen foods to the offerings. Be sure to call ahead or come outside of rush times." - Emma Van Slyck, Stephanie Gravalese

Google
What a great little bakery and artisanal pizza place. The different kinds of breads and baked goods are delicious.our favorites are the almond , chocolate and cinnamon croissants. We also love the spinach croissant. The have different kinds of cream cheese mixes and our favorite is the cherry cream cheese when you can find it. Their salted homemade butters are amazing and their soups that are frozen fresh are to die for. Their pizzas are delicious also and come in a variety of choices.

Google
This was our first visit here but won't be our last! We knew we were in for a treat when we saw a patron leaving the shop with what looked to be a frozen pizza in one hand while eating something that appeared really yummy with the other. When we entered, there were samples of fresh bread and spreads right by the door. Then, we were given samples of their Canales and a chocolate brownie bite (with a fancier name I can't remember). The latter was so rich and delicious that I bought a dozen. We each grabbed a slice of pizza for lunch after a really strenuous hike, and when the owner said, "You're going to love the crust," he had a reason to brag. Amazing sourdough crust, sauce, all of it! And, the perfect size for a big appetite. We also bought a loaf of bread, which we're still very much enjoying, and the young woman behind the counter was a delight! We will absolutely return the next time (and ever after) that we're in the area.

Google
Adorable little bakery. Staff were very nice and the prices reasonable. Very small, but that’s what makes it charming. The bread and butter is DELICIOUS. Definitely stop by if visiting.

Google
Wow!! The best Chicken Pot Pie I have ever had! I live in Stockbridge and grocery stores and other places will stock their bread(the brioche makes amazing French toast) and a few other items they make, but it’s really worth the trip to grab a slice, or a whole take & back pie(pizza or chicken pot). The staff is also super friendly.

Google
There are so few people still doing things the way these people are doing it and it is so appreciated. Bakeries like this are keeping a dying art and I will support these businesses as long as they are around. Every pastry, cookie, bread loaf, frozen pizza, or anything else I've gotten here has been top notch. You guys are doing such a good thing, never change!

Google
This is a jewel of a place. The bread is delicious and the pizza is amazing, I bought a few frozen ones. If you are lucky enough buy a pastry too. You won't be disappointed.

Google
Incredible pizza and bread (simply must take home the herb & cheese ciabatta) But somehow the service at this lil takeaway spot topped even the food. Milton was so considerate & attentive, made our whole group feel welcome, and cheffed up some incredible pies. Two pieces of advice for when you go - 1. trust this man’s recommendations, and 2. stay to have your slice by the Housatonic river.

Ann Boehm

Google
What a delightful little bakery - actually big bakery - but a visitor gets a cozy feeling upon entry. The breads, pastries and cookies are baked onsite and served fresh daily (although they do have a day old cabinet available too). Berkshire Mountain Bakery also has take away pizzas for you to bake at home. Delicious croissants!

Yelp
There are only 3 words for me to describe Berkshire Mountain Bakery Products: AUTHENTIC, NATURAL & WHOLESOME. Staffs are pleasant, kind and courteous. They have outside tables to enjoy as well near the river wherein some customers bring their own picnic tables and chairs. Very busy place around the corner of the street.

Yelp
bmbWe were on short jaunt to the Berkshires from CT. I had read a couple of recommendations for the BMB and was afraid they were not open. I called and was greeted by a delightful employee/chef/baker Milton. He encouraged us to stop by and told me he'd be sure we tasted some samples. We couldn't bring a pizza home since we had a couple more stops and ir was warm out. We did bring home delicious breads and some garlic butter. Milton and Lucy couldn't have been finer employees for the place!

Yelp
Anytime we're in the area we try to stop by here and pick up a few loaves to bring home. Everything they make is fantastic. We also love the day old bread shed. Highly recommend this bakery, and it's worth taking a bit of a detour to get to.

Yelp
I loved this place. Their prices are a fraction of any other bread made in house - it's crazy cheap- and their breads are phenomenal. I'm currently eating a sandwich on their oliva ciabatta ($1.50)!!!! And it's the best sandwich I've ever had. The employees were nice although the service could have been a little faster. They also had a spill when we were there and it seemed like everyone was ignoring it except for the cashier so it took forever to check out. I also resent places that don't have bathrooms for their customers; I understand no public bathrooms but no bathrooms at all? It might not be the best customer experience but the bread is great and cheap. Definitely worth a stop on the way to great barrington.

Yelp
The Berkshire Mountain bakery is always a must go for me whenever I am in the Berkshires... My friends in California always remark how good it is when I bring them back a loaf... Highly recommend!

Jean P.

Yelp
BEST bread I have ever eaten in my whole life. Bar NONE! The pizzas are great too - my favorite is the BBQ!!
google avatar

Donay Q.

Yelp
Wanted to not that I finally baked the frozen pizza. It was fabulous! It had roasted red peppers and if I recall correctly, goat cheese. I added Parmesan and sausage crumbles. Can't wait to go back for another.
google avatar

Yelp
all of their products are delish! picking up a few baguettes is a must when I'm visiting the Berkshires. if you're not passing through Housatonic or it's too out of the way (though a drive along 183 is always beautiful and worth any extra time)keep your eyes peeled for other places that sell their products. I know Neiaimes in Stockbridge and Lenox sell their baguettes and ciabattas.

Yelp
Just stopped by to take a quick look. Croissants taste so fresh went back in after finishing what we had in the parking lot and bought more. You can see them making the bread on site. Excited to go back & try the build your own frozen pizza.

Yelp
Best bread. I left with a big bag so I could stock up. I got 3 loaves & two frozen pizzas.

Yelp
Stopped on our way home from the Catskills. This is an great bakery and the staff is amazing. We got to chat with the owner Richard and was taken back by his spirit for life and his craft. We bought 8 loaves of bread for ourselves and family. The chocolate bread was amazing plain but I made French Toast with the last half of the loaf. It was outrageous. My wife likes peanut butter on her French toast. Chocolate Loaf, Rye Loaf, San Francisco Sourdough

Yelp
After trying their spelt pizza crusts and spelt bread so many times (ordered from their website), we finally decided it was time. Time to visit them in PERSON. Took a little drive out to MA and did a little pit stop right at the end of our day almost on our way back. This "little" bakery has my HEART. The only thing "little" here is just the storefront because behind those glass doors there's a whole other world of talented amazing bakers bringing home the bread (literally!). The property is GORGEOUS, our little dog had a blast running around. In the outside area there is day old bread available for purchase for super cheap (cash only). When you walk in, there are a few fridges/freezers with the dough, pizza dough. All ready for you to take and bake at home! Kimchi, sauerkraut and many other fermented goods made right in the Berkshires are also available for purchase. Mostly everything here is naturally leavened with sourdough fermentation leaving you with delicious and digestible bread! So many delicious baked goods: muffins, croissants, cookies, you name it! Are you ready for the BEST part? You can take and bake ANY pizza. They have an amazing menu to choose from or you can build your own - you can even choose the type of pizza base (regular or spelt). Nothing beats their carefully curated pizza with handpicked ingredients and fresh cheese for you to take home and bake it! Fresh **digestible** pizza without the work. They do it for you! What an amazing bakery, story, people, location, etc. Huge round of applause to Mr Bourdon, the legend, and the talent behind Berkshire Mountain Bakery. So excited to try the Pittsfield Pizza Cafe next time. For now, my freezer is stocked with their amazing pizza crusts and olive bread!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome stop! The baked goods were amazing! We had pizza slices for dinner and they were very good. The shop is cozy & the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Outside seating was perfect. Day old good outside for cheap & still tasty!

Yelp
I loved it here! I was looking for a local coffee spot when I was in the area, and I found this place. I'm so glad I found this great bakery! They have fresh bread, coffee, and more (!) available here. I had a chocolate croissant and coffee, and they were both delicious. If I lived closer, this would be my go-to coffee place! Can't wait to stop back here, again!

Yelp
After 3 years of alternating from traveling to Pittsfield, mail ordering this amazing sourdough bread, and embracing the Farmer's Market at Forest Park booth as the best of all 3 options, we are completed attached to this bakery. Make sure you watch Michael Palin's Netflix documentary Cooked, third episode to see why. Alas, Daniel, at the farmer's market is taking the winter off. So instead of mail order, we decided a day trip was in order. We found some changes: the cafe has no dine in available--COVID has attacked again. But we were able to get most of the breads we love. Some were out of stock on this busy, busy December 30. No time for chatting or even a welcome smile. We love semolina, sesame, seeded rye (out), raisin spelt, San Francisco sourdough, and Jalapeno cheddar ciabatas. We had never tried the apple turnovers. Since they had no almond croissants, we opted for this treat to have on the holiday weekend. I think we may have to move to Pittsfield to have these--weekly, if not more often. Wow doesn't quite describe these flakey, apple-filled delights. But wow anyway. We will probably mail order next time. But we can't get croissants that way, and probably not apple turnovers. :( And, since we can't eat at the cafe, even though all of their menu items are awesome, we may try the main bakery next time in Housatonic.

Yelp
From crusty, chewy sourdough bread to Baguette, Palmiers, flaky, buttery croissants and more, Berkshire Mountain Bakery will leave you feeling happy. Smacked in the middle of the Berkshires, this bakery is the Lone Ranger in these rural, pitch dark as hell, neck of the woods. We'd just made it in the nick of time to pick up some pastries and bread to bring home. Palmiers were gone for the day, so were the plain and chocolate croissants I wanted to get my hands on. But when the young lady noticed my desperation, she'd mentioned her favorite bread has chocolate in it. Sold!!! Got one of those and some Bouchons that were rich, buttery and dark chocolatey greatness. The man behind the scene is Québécois Richard Bourdon who brings his love for bread and baking to his top to bottom brick factory in Housatonic, MA about an hour away from the NY border. This is a total passion project because the emphasis here is on sourdough, taste (among other things) and a reflection of his culture that truly comes out in EVERY bite. My Chocolate Bread when I toasted it and added some Kerrygold butter on it, was sublime: dark chocolate pieces held their shape but then you get a bit of melting ooze. Sweet Baby Jesus. Folks nearby are insanely lucky to have Berkshire Mountain Bakery because it's firing on all damn cylinders. And everything we had gotten, gave me pause.

Yelp
Yum! The fresh baked goods at this place are so delicious. I also highly recommend the pizza. They make what's called taken bake so you can take it home and cook it in your own oven and it's absolutely delicious. I'm here all the time and will continue to eat this lovely delicious stuff!

Yelp
Took a scenic detour through the Berkshires on the way out to Albany, NY. Stopped into this famous bakery. Bon Appétit Magazine ranked this place top 10 in the nation, Netflix featured them in a 2016 documentary series called Cooked, and SAVEUR Magazine named them one of the best bakeries in the country. They did not disappoint. I picked up a chewy canelé, airy kouign-amann, chewy olive loaf, and decadent bread and chocolate loaf. Worth the detour.

Yelp
First of all, ONE PERSON AT A TIME DURING COVID PRECAUTIONS. I literally watched a dude read the clearly hung sign, peek inside to see a customer being served, and walk in anyway. Don't make the staff call you out, because they will (they did) and you're a grown-ass adult. Second, the little lean to out front features half-priced day olds, with an honor system cash till. The only bummer: nothing is labeled, so I ended up with a sourdough rye loaf, but hell, for $3 I'm now a rye fan. Croissants are beautiful. The pain au chocolate was chock full or chunks, the butter is flaky and full, and the cinnamon is a clever spin on a morning bun. Also tried a ginger molasses cookie, which (despite the chunks of candied ginger) was the low point of our stash. Palmiers are only slightly sweet, which I loved! A must-stop when visiting or waking up for your 1,326th morning in the Berkshires. Pro tip: bulk Six Depot Roastery coffee is sold here, and the sandwiches at Six Depot are built on this bread. Symbiosis!

Yelp
Consider the simple loaf of bread. Lots of shapes, lots of colors, lots of varieties, lots of sweet and savory flavors. So how good can a hunk of bread possibly be? Well ever hear of that TV show on Food Network called "The Best Thing I Ever Ate"? In Season 6 (way back in 2011) panelist Gabriella Gershenson confessed that a slice of Bread and Chocolate was indeed the best thing she ever ate! That's pretty high praise, no? Oh, and in case you were wondering, that chocolate chip bread was made right here at the Berkshire Mountain Bakery. What a fun place! When you walk in you will see sales counters to your left and right and refrigerated and frozen cases straight ahead. On the left is where the beauteous loaves are on display, and they sure a sight to behold. Want some variety in your breads? Check these out - their Famous Bread and Chocolate, Cherry Pecan, Multigrain, Olive, Peasant French, Potato Onion, Raisin, San Francisco, Sesame, Spelt, Flax, and Whole Wheat. If a whole loaf is too much for your household, try a baguette or a mini ciabatta loaf (Plain, Cheese & Herb, Dark Chocolate, Jalapeno & Cheese, or Olive and Rosemary). They sell frozen pizzas and pizza shells, all sorts of sweets and pastries, and a "Day Old" Section where we scooped some croissant croissants that seemed super fresh to us. We bought two loaves -the Bread and Chocolate went straight to the freezer for Thanksgiving, and we are about a third of the way to polishing off a loaf of Cherry Pecan; which is absolutely terrific. What a fun place to shop !

Yelp
Breads are overpriced and pumped full of air. Seriously. Their pizzas might be good. But save your dough and shop elsewhere.

Eric G.

Yelp
Great breads and pastries. The best around. Also check out their day-old shed. Good buys and finds for a bit less.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Yes, the breads here are delicious. This bakery is famous for that. Got the chocolate loaf as well as a raisin loaf and some other things along with a Pesto pizza (lackluster). Would I come back to grab a quick loaf if I was driving by? Yes I would. However, the customer service here really is suffering. I asked the guy making the pizzas and the lady behind the counter a couple of questions regarding things they sold in the store. I swear it was like these people just came off the street and put on an apron. They literally knew n o t h i n g about anything. And besides the lack of knowledge their disdain for working really showed. All in all, it's a nice bakery to grab a quick loaf and run. Just don't expect much help.

Yelp
The difference between brilliant, excellent and just plain good has to do with consistency... The baguette on the left, the pale and flat looking one with no crumb was bought on Xmas eve. The darker and airier one on the right not three days earlier. Had I not had a great baguette on the 21st I would not have gone back for the sad excuse of a baguette on the 24th... Where is Richard? BMB is in need of some serious quality control!
google avatar

Martin B.

Yelp
Excellent bakery. Breads are baked daily, large variety. Their artisan multigrain is exceptional. Don't leave without getting a chocolate chip cookie and the ginger molasses cookie - you will not be disappointed!

Leor L.

Yelp
Everything was great! We got Margarita pizza and olive bread which where both delicious!

Yelp
UPDATE: It's been a few years since we made our way back to the Berkshires, but we were recently on a trip there and our very first stop was back to Berkshire Mountain Bread!! My parents were still visiting a couple times a year and last year they said that the almond croissants weren't as good as usual. I figured it had to be a fluke...how could they not be as good anymore? We arrived and ordered 8 almond croissants for $28. There were 3 of us in the car and we all took one straight away to eat right in the parking lot annnd they weren't that great anymore...where was all that delicious almond filling? We could barely taste it. When we got home I cut one of them in half and lifted up the layers to see how much filling was there and there wasn't much at all. I really debated how much I was going to charge 5 rating I originally gave them. They still have some amazing breads, so I gave them 4 stars. But, sorry I'll never be back. Thanks for the memories of having the most amazing almond croissants I've ever tasted. . Like many others I was drawn to Berkshire Mountain Bakery after seeing the owner on Michael Pollens "Cooked" series on Netflix. We were vacationing in the Berkshires so we stopped there and oh man we were in bread heaven. I decided to try the almond croissant on our first visit there and we got coffees and sat outside at the tables they have there. And then I experienced what was to become one of my favorite things I have ever eaten....that almond croissant. I didn't realize it was going to have this beautiful almond filling, it was so light and flaky and that filling was delicious. Berkshire Bakery became a daily stop while we were there. The second day we were there I saw the owner and we asked the woman who works there if maybe I could get my picture taken with him. She went in the back to ask him and came back and said he's busy baking but wants you to come in the back to see him. What!?! So, I went in the back and saw all the amazing breads and mixers, proof boxes etc and Richard showed me around a little, took pictures and gave me a sour dough starter!!! You might think I'd won the lottery!! We went back and tried the take and bake pizza too and it was very good also. I never tried anything else because I was so hooked on the almond croissants!!! We even have driven 2+ hours just to get an almond croissant once since our initial visit!! This is one of my top 3 bakeries I've ever visited!!

Yelp
Superlatives for all their baked goods. These people and their bread make life better!
google avatar

Asha S.

Yelp
I am addicted to this chocolate bread!!!!!!!!! I like their sourdough too... but the chocolate bread is out of this world delicious. The flavor of the bread perfectly compliments the chocolate chunks. Big shoutout to whoever puts the chocolate chunks in... you are so generous. The character of the bread varies greatly if you rip pieces off versus if you slice pieces, but... I love it every which way.
google avatar

Kit M.

Yelp
Great selection of breads with the star being the chocolate bread. We stock up between visits. The bake at home pizzas are a good choice. Sourdough bread, potato rosemary, cherry pecan and french peasant are our favorites.
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
Went here with a couple of good friends on a "fermented foods roadtrip" and this was the most memorable location. I fangirled on Richard after watching the Netflix show Cooked (episode Air), and he was actually there so we took a bunch of photos with him. I fangirled even harder after I shamelessly sampled their San Francisco sourdough with their sun dried tomato/shallot/garlic cream cheese and sea salt butter-- wow. Their ciabattas are what pulled my heartstrings, especially the herb/cheese as well as the chocolate chip ones. Their chocolate chip boules are also amazing. If you are there, have them slice up the boule, because they can expertly do it vs if you tried it on your own with your non-skilled bread-slicing. They deliver also, so I placed a huge order (they have a cutoff for delivery placements so just mind that if you need your items at a particular time) to share with my other friends. The delivered goods are packed with dry ice or one of those gel-ice packs, so you get them with the same quality and freshness as if you went there directly. Ugh, now I want to place another order. Those ciabattas maaan!

Lars B.

Yelp
Years ago, one could stop by around midnight and find bakers hard at work and some fresh loaves cooling. There would even be a partially sliced loaf or two to sample. It was so nice to pick a few warm loaves, talk to the bakers and put money in the (honor system)cash box. Great, and tasty,memories...
google avatar

Leanna P.

Yelp
Most delish pizza in the area and I'm a NYer who is a pizza snob typically. Fresh and handmade sour dough crust with different toppings and combos that won't disappoint
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
I live in Western mass the Agawam area. I visit the bakery every chance I get as I work I am in the Berkshire's now and then. I love the olive bread that they have. Unfortunately I found two seeds in the bread. With no warning I almost broke a tooth very painful to bite into. I understand that this may happen, but I also think they should put a warning label on the bread. Overall they have very good products.
google avatar

Angeline C.

Yelp
I was in the area and really wanted to get a pizza to take home to bake. When I got there, I saw they had chicken pot pies available to take home to bake so I got that instead. Best decision ever! I love a great chicken pot pie and the chicken pot pies here are delicious! They are a bit on the salty/saltier side though so keep that in mind. This is a must try. I will definitely get it again if I am ever in the area. I also tried their chocolate croissant and that was delicious as well. You can taste the chocolate and the croissant was perfect. This place does take credit card so that is a plus. They have a parking lot so that was welcome too.

Anonymous A.

Yelp
This could easily be one of the best bakeries in the country. Literally every bread they make is delicious. I highly recommend the croissants and San Francisco bread.
google avatar

Julia L.

Yelp
Absolutely FABULOUS!! Gracious service, pastries SO TASTY, coffee exceptional!!! Bread also wonderful and they have a great "Take and Bake Pizza" with fresh dough. What a find!! This place is golden!!! Tiny, but what they do they EXCEL at!!!!

Yelp
I've always been a huge BMB fan. Richard and his great crew make world-class bread, croissants and baked goods -- sunny flax bread, chocolate croissants and bouchons top my list. A trip to Housatonic or the summer markets was a bit of a journey, but always a joy. Then, as if an answer to my prayers, they opened their Elm Street location in Pittsfield, which has now become one of my favorite places to grab a delicious breakfast, lunch or *top-notch* pizza. Even though we have a gem so close to us, I still find my way to their Housatonic location if I'm in Stockbridge or GB. It's nice to see their central bakery, enjoy the river and sit at a picnic table. If you're lucky and find yourself there in the right season, you might even be able to snag some of their maple syrup. It's the best. One note in response to a certain off-base comment below: I appreciate BMB's service to us in the time of COVID-19. As a food production facility, they need to ensure the health and safety of their employees and our community. As a takeout bakery, they don't have the typical accommodations of a restaurant, and precautions are necessary to protect their employees and output. We are in a state of emergency, and I appreciate their commitment to health.
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
Seriously the bestttttt pizza in Town. They have a cool system where you order and then pickup outside. It's not fully cooked but that makes it even better. You just pop in the oven and eat when you're ready. Also love the fresh bread!
google avatar

Chelsea H.

Yelp
Croissants are AMAZING. We love getting the pizzas to go and baking at home. Such a great spot to stop in and not only get a treat from the bakery case but also load up on soups, dips and bevvys. One of our favorite spots in the Berkshires. The potato bread.is divine.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
Heard of this place while watching Chef on Netflix right before we arrived and I knew we'd have to try it. Im so glad we did. The sourdough reminds me of the sourdough my late aunt used to send us from San Francisco. The cookies were delicious too. We definitely will be stopping for another loaf on our way home.

Yelp
Several years ago I saw the episode of The Best Thing I Ever Ate where Gabriella Gershenson says the Bread and Chocolate at Berkshire Mountain Bakery is the best thing she's ever eaten. I bookmarked it then and I filed it on my travel wish list as I often do. It worked out that I'd be right near it on my recent trip to The Pioneer Valley and The Berkshires. I stopped in around 10am in the morning. Probably a large baking facility but a small store. I wanted to take a bite of everything! Since I couldn't do that and I couldn't go for any of the perishable items I bought, 2 canelé, 2 bouchons, 1 ginger molasses cookie, and a loaf of the Bread & Chocolate. The first 3 items I mentioned were all excellent but the Bread & Chocolate really is worthy of The Best Thing I Ever Ate. It's a round sourdough boule with chunks of dark Callebaut chocolate (nice Belgian chocolate). The first day I ate a couple of slices off the end as is. The second day I toasted it and put a nice quality butter on it for breakfast. Both ways it was totally amazing. The chocolate is high quality but clearly this is an expertly crafted loaf of sourdough bread with or without the amazing chocolate. Soooo glad I passed through Housatonic and got to try this! When can I go back? How are you going to give anything less than 5 stars?

Ji L.

Yelp
Tremendous selection of day old bread when we were there, all of which looked great and was nicely priced. Cute and tasty little dark chocolate thingy, just the right size to go with coffee ( from elsewhere) and a similar shaped caramel one. The croissant is passable for a croissant in this country, and the cookies are good, too. Guy leaving as I was arriving had an uncooked pizza, so I asked for an uncooked slice. Alas, they only sell the whole pie.
google avatar

Kathleen J.

Yelp
One of best bread makers in the country. Amazing, healthy, easy to digest sour dough. But forget all that - it taste better than any other bread. Downtown GB extra crowded and your like, OMG where can I go eat!!. Go here and sit outside at their outdoor tables and have a make shift picnic with bread, selection fo cold drinks, hummus, olive tapenade, homemade butter or sundried tomato or cream cheese to go with. Bring your own cold cuts if you need meat. No salads for sale. But they do have Ham and Cheese Croissants or Spinach and Feta Croissants and more. Yum.

Meri P.

Yelp
Three stars is not for the bread, the bread gets five stars. The three stars is for the person behind the counter who was so rude and abrupt. I gave her three because I figured maybe it was a long day and she's tired of tourists coming in. Well I travelled almost two hours to see the Berkshires and went out of my way to find this great bakery, having had their bread at various farmers market. I hope the owner realizes that this person represents them. But maybe it just doesn't matter. Be nice to your customers, especially if we are nice to you.
google avatar

Food L.

Yelp
Very rude woman working behind the counter. Rudeness will NEVER get my business. Where has kind customer service gone?!
google avatar

Bruce B.

Yelp
Love the vegan pizza one of the best it's my second favorite vegan pizza in the state We always try to go here when we are in Pittsfield Grab some spelt bread and baked treats while your here Another place worth the trip

Gay T.

Yelp
This place is a treasure although the wait to pay May be annoying. This is the best bread - anywhere! Even Michael Pollan agrees on that point. I've been their customer for over a decade.
google avatar

Ginamaria V.

Yelp
This bakery has such good baked hoods I drive 2 hours just yo buy their bread! The sesame wheat loaf is out of this world delicious, and their pizza is so satisfying. The customer service and staff are the kindest people around. I'd recommend taking the trop to this bakery and it's beautiful surroundings! The town is so lovely!

I visited the Berkshire Mountain Bakery in November and am still thinking of their delicious olive bread and buttery croissants. Masterful baked goods and such an interesting setting. If you are in the Berkshires, you have to make your way there!
