The Best Birthday Cake in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Open since August 2020, in Saint-Henri’s western stretch, Bernice offers up some decadent cakes. The s’mores option is made with a homemade graham crumble and chocolate caramel fudge, while its cappuccino cake mixes white and dark chocolate with layers of Tia Maria cream. Meanwhile, its carrot cake is taken up a notch with lemon mascarpone frosting." - Valerie Silva

Such a good cinnamon roll! I did spend a pretty penny of 4 cinnamon rolls but it was worth it since everyone enjoyed it! Place is very clean, and the people there are very friendly! We got there around 10:30/11am on a rainy Sunday morning and there was only 3 people ahead of us but after 3 minutes in line, the line behind us grew substantially! They were very good with replenishing their stock but I would go early just incase. There is space in there to eat but the seats so fill up, we ended up taking our stuff to go!

Unfortunately the quality is inconsistent and there is a lack of care about customer service. Be careful with full cake orders and delivery orders. We purchased the strawberry shortcake and it tasted (and looked) not fully baked unfortunately. Also placed an order on uber eats for the cake of the day which was shown on their IG as a pistachio honey cake and instead received a Black Forest cake slice which was featured as their cake of the day the day before. Really disappointing as we contacted them about it and they did not make it right and said they were sorry if we were « confused » by their IG (even if they only featured the honey cake that day). When you are paying over $70+ for desserts, the experience and quality should be much better.

Insane how delicious everything was! We got greedy and ordered more than what we could eat, and we don't regret it one bit. The cookies were heavenly and generous in size and there were large chunks of chocolate chips. The coffee cake was simultaneously dense and moist, a rare yet perfect combination. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, that dirty matcha really hit the spot by cutting the sweetness with its bitter-y matcha flavored warmth, coating the bites of cookies and cake. I was thirsty on my way out so grabbed an iced tea to go, and it was the best iced tea I ever had: sweet and slightly sour. Yum! Definitely coming back to try other things! ;)

Cozy spot with the most delicious pastries and drinks! The cinnamon roll was INCREDIBLE! The owner was also super friendly and explained their drinks menu, from which you can order anything in a Frappuccino format. We had a matcha Frappuccino and a chai Frappuccino and both were delicious. Also the cookies are excellent. Can’t wait to go back

Absolutely the best cookies I’ve tasted in Montreal! The texture is just perfect: crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside—a real treat. The price might seem a bit high considering the size, but it’s definitely worth it for an occasional indulgence. A little tip: if you have any leftovers at the end of the day, consider offering them on the TooGoodToGo app to reduce waste.

Been here a couple of times already. Are the cookies expensive? Yes. But are they worth it? TOTALLY. Consider this a little well-deserved treat from time to time, that's what I tell my wallet. Took the matcha latte once – not worth the price in my opinion. Take a regular coffee instead.

The folks here are super friendly and helpful. The man helping me gave a few recommendations, and I ended up getting the Mason and the Tory. Mason: It was LOADED with chocolate chips (SORRY TO OFFEND, but there was just a tad too many, sometimes the gooeyness of the chocolate overshadowed the cookie part). The flavor was great, there was a hint of cinnamon in the cookie that set it apart from other choco chip cookies. But I think the best part was the walnuts. They tasted better than any walnuts I've ever had. The cookie was a bit raw around the chocolate chips and walnuts though, I would've liked it more if it were a little more done in those areas. Tory: This cookie was pretty much the combination of every single form of chocolate you can think of, and each component was done so well. The salted caramel chocolate on top, the chocolate chips, the chocolate cookie itself 👌 The ganache stole the show though, it really deserves applause. Bernice absolutely nailed the texture with the cookies. Both were really really crispy on the outside and still extremely moist and gooey inside. The cookies here are HEAVY, both in weight and in flavor. It will absolutely annihilate your sugar craving (even with just half the cookie), but you'll be very very satisfied.

We stopped by finally , after planning to since awhile and it’s definitely worth the drive for us! Such mouthwatering combinations whether it is the bacon bechamel version of cinnamon rolls or the cookies, you cannot go wrong with anything you pick. Melt in the mouth delicious flavours, crafted with care and perfection! My photos don’t do it justice 😊👍 great service too and fresh baked goods! We’ll be back for more!

Yelp
I ordered from here on my trip to Montreal for my daughter's birthday. The cake was scrumptious! My daughter was pleasantly surprised. The place is super cute. The cookies and other treats looked so yummy. I didn't get anything else, even though I was tempted to. The person that helped me was so nice. Def recommend this place to anyone!!!

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place by accident during one of my walks around the neighborhood; I was pleasantly surprised to see this new bakery had opened in St- Henri, especially during the pandemic! The space is small but offers a few seats and tables to grab a coffee (once allowed again). I ordered my coffee (ost milk latte, thank you) and had to try something out of their baked goods. They have freshly baked croissants, cakes, and a slew of cookies, including some vegan options. I left with a few of their cookies and boy, I fell in love! Delicious and moist, but also huge; the peanut chocolate chip one was by far my fave (so far). I'll have to go back and try some more, including their cakes which looked delish! Oh, they also have freshly baked breads too!

Yelp
Very very delicious cookies! Tried a double chocolate and a chocolate chip with dark and white chocolate. They were fresh out of the oven and chocolate was oozing out! Also had an espresso that was well done for a tough coffee purest.
