Where to Find Atlanta’s Best Cantonese Food - Eater Atlanta

"Embracing the essence of a classic Hong Kong diner, the offerings at Best BBQ are a true homage to traditional Cantonese cuisine, particularly with their standout siu yuk (roast pork). This dish is celebrated for its exceptionally crispy skin achieved through slow-roasting scored pork belly seasoned with salt, sugar, and five-spice powder. The resulting meat is moist and flavorful, and with the perfect balance of sweet and savory — one of Hong Kong’s most beloved dishes." - Susie Chow

Terrible customer service and disappointing food. My family and I drove 2 hours to try this place after hearing good things about their dim sum. We were really excited — until we actually got there. When I asked for a menu, the staff gave me a look like I was bothering them. Then, when I placed my order and asked about the price, the lady yelled it at me with a super rude attitude. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she was just having a bad day — but minutes later she was laughing and chatting with her coworkers like nothing happened. So clearly the attitude is just for customers. The worst part? I waited 30 minutes for my dim sum, while people who ordered after me — including large orders — got their food first. The food was literally sitting on the counter the whole time. When I asked about it, the response was, “Can’t you see we’re busy?” That was the final straw. I’ve never been spoken to like that as a paying customer. When I finally got my food, it was handed to me rudely, and honestly? It wasn’t even good. Dry, bland, and not worth the hype. Even store-bought dim sum tastes better. Between the awful service and the mid food, I’m never coming back.

Google
Dim Sum was very tasty compared to the ones in Florida. I devoured it. Especially the sticky rice in the banana leaves and the shrimp rice rolls. The other 2 items on the side is from Ping’s Place.

Google
Not sure why the reviews are so poor. I enjoyed the dim sum here. Food was fresh and good portions. It’s inside the grocery store so the atmosphere isn’t great. Very good chili oil. Spicier than usual

Google
This place has really gone downhill over the last few years. We ordered a few dishes tonight and all 3 were God awful. The salt and pepper tofu had a chewy coating to it. Never seen that before. The BBQ pork was dry as was the roast pork. Last time we came here, they charged us over $20 for a tofu with veg dish that is way more expensive than other reataurants. Safe to say we we're done with this place.

Google
If you're looking for the "best bang for your buck" dimsum then this is the place (most shrimp-filling dimsum were full of shrimps which is why I like this place). My favorite ones that I always order here are their shrimp fried balls (#1 favorite), shrimp rice rolls and shrimp har gow. The pork fillings for shumai is leaning more toward on the fattier side but it's not too fatty. We didn't really like the xiao long bao because the skin was thick (and it was a little hard on top) and there wasn't much soup inside. Radish cake was just ok. The place is located inside the Great Wall Supermarket and usually there is a long line of customers when I go. Wait time is pretty quick (around 10-15mins) each time and it's a self-serve style.

We bought 2 live Dungeness crabs & 1 live lobster from GW Supermarket, then asked Best BBQ to cook them for us - Hong Kong style for crabs, and ginger & scallion for lobster. OMG unbelievable fresh tasty seafood. Beef chow fun a classic. Salt & pepper tofu is fun finger food.

Google
The food is great and in large portions. You need to have a little luck finding a place to sit, and the tables are cleaned by the customers hopefully. But worth it, there's a picture menu you can point at if you feel you need help offering.

Google
Don’t understand the low rating, been here twice in last couple weeks and saw how busy they were. Foods were amazing. Portions were huge, especially if you’re eating there. Prices were very reasonable. Selections very extensive. We ordered take outs as well. Highly recommended. We will visit again, when in Atlanta.

Yelp
Date of visit 02/19/2024 After seeing someone online taking live lobster from the nearby GW supermarket to Best BBQ to cook them, I knew I had to try that. After all nothing better than Fresh Lobsters And if there an unusual food adventure in the area, you know I will be there and report on it!! ATMOSPHERE/DECO It is a stand in a food court attached to an Asian supermarket so definitely not fancy or luxurious, but they have tables and chairs, after all what else do you need! SERVICE You order at the counter, and they call you number when your food is ready. No real service to speak of, but they were helpful and nice each time I went back to counter to ask for extra plates, utensils, sauce, etc PRICE Price is very reasonable, we were charge $20 to prepared 6 lbs of lobsters, we also got a BBQ combo with crispy pork and roasted duck for $24. For anyone asking, the live lobsters we got at the GW supermarket were from Canada and $18/lbs FOOD Everything was very good, the crispy pork and roasted duck were cold, but I think that is normal, it was just surprising to me, but had great crust and taste. We had the lobster prepared Scallion, ginger onion style and it was simply delicious We also ordered some Har Gow and Shumai and those were spectacular, on par with the best one I ever had and very large as well, you definitely get a lot of food for the money. MISCELLEANOUS We got there after the rush but from what we can see (based on the dirty plates on the side) it can get very very busy at peak hours. We didn't have to wait long but everything is made fresh, so if you are in a hurry that might not be a good option. We did wait 20 minutes for the dim sum but they were so fresh and delicious we did not mind. To find Best BBQ, you need to enter GW supermarket and it's all the way in the back on the left, last booth of the food court La note de Sebo Atmosphere/Deco 2/5 Service 3/5 Food 4.5/5 Price 5/5 Misc. 3/5 OVERALL 4/5

Yelp
Yo, please make sure you clip the chicken toes all the way; the chicken keeps asking for that new Viet nail bar number that just opened. This place sure knows how to float only with its face skywards - not too bad, not too good. Price seems fixed on the post-Covid days and portion seems to match the current settings, but that dumplings swelled in size to shut up the complaints. There were compliments on this place packing its dumpling with hella shrimp meats. I actually thought about this for a moment - guess where all that shrimp comes from - wink, wink =)

Yelp
Used to visit a lot and still occasionally for their dim sum and huge portion meal! But right now due to inflation, the price went up by a lot and I would go only if I'm with my families and friends. Some people might think that the dining area is dirty but that's unavoidable since it's in a food court ‍
google avatar

Yelp
I'll be honest the food here use to be amazing. Like I use to come here at least 1-2 times a week. The San Bao Fan was u defeated. Now idk if they changed the ingredients in the pickled veggies but it's either too sour or not flavorful enough. Portions have gotten so much smaller too. Price went up, not a big deal as long as you keep the same quality. The attitudes of the employees here are the worst though. Real disrespectful and just not welcoming.

Yelp
We came here many times. They have pretty Good dim sum! Me and my family like to came here get some Togo and enjoy at home .

Yelp
Great BBQ is located inside the Great Wall supermarket. This is our first time trying this space and it did not disappoint. I'll talk about the positive things first: food was delish, portions were generous and it was fresh. There is a sign in the order area noting that orders can take 25-30 minutes here so if you're in a hurry, I would stay away, the line was long also, but we went on a Saturday afternoon so I was expecting that. We picked a live lobster and brought it to cook here. Quick tip is that they can cook the fresh seafood that you get in the market and price it depending on weight. You pick the seafood, pay for it in the cashier (grocery side) then bring your receipt to great bbq. For the lobster dish we paid $24 for the live lobster and another $10 for them to prepare, a deal yes! The style we chose to cook was the ginger sauce. We ordered a few dimsum dishes as pictured and we were pleased with those, the noodle was great also. Ambiance is the one thing I'm not shooting for here when I'm dining here, it's loud, inside a grocery store so it's a hustle and bustle thing. But that's okay, I will gladly take that over the wonderful food. For next time though, I'll probably take this food to go to make it a more pleasurable eating experience for me.

Yelp
We come here weekly for chinesw food. VERY good, fast and tasty. All their dishes are fresh authentic chinese. The congee is 1 of the best in Metro Atlanta.

Yelp
Best BBQ is definitely the best in term of flavors and portion. This even satisfies, my very picky, Vietnamese grandmother. She loves the stirfry flat noodles here. Their dim sum is my favorite in town. I frequent this location as well as the one in Doraville. They also make a great crispy fried noodle. I generally do stay away from their barbecue meats as, I have found it to be a little bit dry. Service can be slow especially if they're busy. Doesn't always come with a smile. But that's very typical Asian old-school.
google avatar

Yelp
The dim sum was really good. Their Chinese bbq meat was just equally delicious. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I have been here a few times since I work in the area. The food is always fantastic. I Food is always great and low priced, for people complaining about the price going up... what hasn't gone up in price over the past 2-3 years? A lot of people who are not Asian get confused on how to order, or scared I guess. I assume those people have never been to Asia and would be scared if they ever had to go there. This place is legit which is why you see so many Chinese people there. Yeah the ladies at the front counter don't great you with a smile and tell you have a nice day but who cares! The food is good! Don't go to Best BBQ if you need to be smiled at and told "have a nice day". You will wait maybe 10-12 minutes for your food, if you are complaining about that go to a fast food place.
google avatar

Yelp
When we found this place some time ago, we were fairly happy with them: very large portions, wontons that were fairly authentic (but double the diminutive sizes of regular wontons), even if the soup isn't as top-notch as one would expect an excellent bowl of soup noodles to be. Prices are not cheap for a food-court location with no waiter service, but again, the portions are huge. This lates visit, things were not quite up to far: a bit off on both the wonton soup noodles and the fried noodles. I'm hoping they are just having an off-day. Will give it at least another try.

Yelp
I had a craving for certain shrimp dim sum dishes, but didn't need the whole dim sum experience. I was by myself and wanted to get something quick to-go. Luckily for me, Best BBQ was on my way home and offers dim sum among other things. Located inside Great Wall Supermarket, Best BBQ is known for Hong Kong BBQ, particularly the BBQ pork and roasted duck. The counter has photos of their offerings and I was able to order easily. I ordered the shrimp rice noodle rolls and har gow (shrimp dumplings). Prices were very reasonable. Within minutes my order was ready and I was on my way to enjoying them at home. I immediately opened the package and started digging in as soon as I walked in the house. Mmm.. It hit the stop and I couldn't be more satisfied!

Yelp
Hands down - top 5 favorite places to eat in ATL. Located in the Great Wall Supermarket, Best BBQ is one of about 6-7 restaurants you can dine at! If you haven't had Chinese BBQ, seriously run, don't walk! You can choose from a variety of meats including Roasted BBQ Pork, Crispy Roast Pork, Braised Chicken, and Duck - you really can't go wrong with any. I personally always get the roasted BBQ pork (half lean, half fat - trust me on this) and the soy sauce braised chicken which is always tender. The white rice is covered in a sweet/salty soy, and on the side you are served preserved veggies and chicken/veggie soup. The congee is also great here, along with any noodle soups. Honestly, I haven't tried a single thing I haven't liked yet. I feel like this place is one of my best kept secrets, but it's def a spot everyone NEEDS to try!

Mingyu L.

Yelp
This place is a joke. They have a huge sign on TV saying good food takes time. If you want fast food, go to McD. I waited today for my fried Taro for 20 minutes and the inside of my fried taro was still cold. I don't mind waiting if the food is actually good but don't put a sign like that a deliver cold food. I will not be going back. Service was poor as well. When I told them about the cold food. No apologies. Just asked me to wait then refunded me. Typical Cantonese.

Yelp
The older Asians come here so you know it's OG. Here for the Dim Sum & Meat/Rice Platters. The food is cooked fresh so be patient or go shopping.

Yelp
Great place for casual eatery. Order at the counter and find yourself a table. The ambiance is like a food style. The food is fresh and delicious. My favorite is their shumai, it's so good. Besides from Dim sum, they have roast duck and other bbq items as well. The menu had wide selections to choose from like noodles and fried rice.
google avatar

Tran P.

Yelp
This is my favorite dimsum place in Atlanta. They have the best pork & shrimp shumai. The portion is large, and very juicy and not dry like many other dimsum places. The sugar cane shrimp and the friend shrimp roll is also really good. Their bbq selection is also top notch. The roasted duck is a must try. Their congee is also very comforting when I am sick. Expect a long wait on weekend, I recommend calling in for a take out order to avoid waiting.
google avatar

Yelp
Such huge selection of Cantonese Cuisines and food is authentic and delicious! Honestly, I did not expect much from this place, since it was located as part of a food court. Service is over the counter only and pretty much self service. Expect to wait for about 10-15 minutes for your food to be ready.

Yelp
Yummy pork char siu with rice and pickled veggies!! Came to Great Wall Supermarket for dinner around 7:30pm and was shocked to find almost all the restaurants were closed (Google Maps said 9pm for almost all the restaurants in the Great Wall Supermarket). Fortunately Best BBQ was still taking orders until what looked like 8pm. For $12-13.99, this was a good portion!! I wish there was a bit more sauce on the rice, but overall super yummy!!

Mel M.

Yelp
They are cheaters!! Beware!! I ordered a whole roast duck (now over $40 with tax) and they did NOT give me the whole duck. I was missing one BIG leg and who knows which other part. There's no way a whole duck has only one big leg, two small ones, and TWO necks. Don't buy their ducks anymore or have them cut the duck in fourths and you chop it at home. For it to be so expensive, I expect the WHOLE duck!!!!!!!!! I used to buy food and bbq here a lot but now I will not as they are SCAMMERS and CHEATERS!!!!

Yelp
I am on the fence with regard to eating here. I was hungry for an Asian type soup. In particular, a won ton min. What I got from this place was so very different from any type of won ton min I have had over my many years. First, the broth had zero flavor. Open water faucet, turn on hot and pour in bowl kinda taste. Secondly, the won tons contained full sized shrimp wrapped in the won ton wrappers. Now, admittedly, this may be traditional type of won tons on Pleasant Hill, however, not even close to what I grew up with in Honolulu. So, will pass on any renewed future cravings here.

Yelp
Honestly their service is bad ,they don't really care about customers ,so be prepared .Compare with the other food court ,they are kind of pricey ,but it s big portion though,so even it out .But wont come back for dim sum ,for that price ,would rather go to dine in dim sum restaurant instead .
google avatar

Yelp
Service sucks which is understood for some Asian food services. Place is inside Great Wall market. Really dirty too. Curious what their score is.
google avatar

Mansi R.

Yelp
Ordering is a mess. Staff is rude and food takes much longer than the 25-30 minutes they say. My husband requested a few items and was told a bunch weren't available that day. He liked the duck but the Singapore noodles were awful. Completely inedible and not worth the 60+ minute wait.
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
I have been eating here for many years . They had to close down to clean up due to low score by the health inspector couple of years back. I see the decline through the years . The rude customer service was always there since day 1 but I put up with it due to liking the food . There is this older man who works there since day 1 and he gives you a stare down each time you ask for a plastic fork. They charge additional 3% if you use credit card , meaning they let you pay for that cost of using a credit card instead of taking it on like most businesses. The rudeness of their staff was at its peak the last time I was there hence for this review that I am writing now. They gave me a wrong order and was not apologetic at all making it seem like it's fully my fault. $13.00 for a roast pork rice is an all time high. I have a feeling I won't be going back anytime soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Best place for roast duck or pork. Also the dimsum is amazing. Compared to other places they steam it fresh right when you order and the size is also a plus cause it's bigger than most dimsum. It's inside of a food court of a grocery store so that's a plus if I need to pick up anything as well for the house!

Yelp
Best BBQ(來記燒臘) is a takeout restaurant in a food court inside a big Chinese grocery store in Duluth, GA. It has the BEST Cantonese style "Eight Treasures Fried Noodle (八珍炒麵)" I ever have so far. I travel to many states in the US, and this place has the most delicious and reasonably priced Cantonese style crispy fried noodle! The "Eight Treasures Noodle" used to be a stable dish of all Cantonese restaurants. You get seafood, chicken, pork, vegetables, everything but the kitchen sink as toppings on a bed of crispy fried noodles. That is one of my favorite dish since childhood. Unfortunately, in recent years most Cantonese restaurants don't offer it anymore. The offer "Seafood crispy fried noodle" as the closet alternative, and charge insanely high prices, and most of the Seafood fried noodle alters are NOT good at all. I very happy I found this classic dish in GA. Everything I visit my relatives in Atlanta, I will drive 30 minutes away to eat at this restaurant. This place also offers a wide variety of dim sum dishes that are of great quality and at reasonable prices.
google avatar

Helen P.

Yelp
MASSIVE dim sum. Get the chive dumplings (steamed and fried). The sesame balls and fried footballs are great but get there early or they run out. Classic dishes like duck, cha siu pork, and beef he fen are all yum.
google avatar

Yelp
Ever went to a place looking for a good food, and then had bad service and never went back again? This is the place for me, sadly. I'm a foodie and I love their food there, but their service, not so good. The staffs are rude, luckily their food is good. The last time I came here was months ago, but I went there again just to get my favorite roasted duck. I got a takeout. It's in a food center of a grocery store, not much ambiance if you want to ask. I highly recommend their roasted duck! Try it yourself... BUT just be calm, service is alright. Price is high too for a food stall.
google avatar

Yelp
Dim sum here hit right on the spot and it's available alala day!! Highly recommend: Shrimp dumplings, chive dumplings, and chicken feet.

Yelp
Husband and I have been long time customers since we moved to Georgia in 2015. For the past few years, we have only ordered dim sum or roasted items from them. However last week we decided to order other dishes, the two dishes we ordered: stir fried vegetables (only couple broccoli, couple mushrooms, few choy sum stems, chewy baby corn, two tiny pieces of cabbage and vermicelli) for $20, salt and pepper varieties (5 hard to peel, intestines still in tact shrimps, 2.5 pieces of paper thin pork chops, bunch of chewy and hard calamari) for $26. I was furious about the price and the quality of the food. If you can charge me this much, please cook something good and palatable, the pork chop is paper thin, I didn't even see any meat except the batter. My husband had a really hard time to peel the shrimps and get the intestines out because everything was stick on the shrimps, at last he had to give up. The calamari was hard as a piece of fiber, there was no way we can chew it. We are so disappointed! Why cheat the customers and make the ONE TIME profit? From now on, I would rather patronize Humble House or any other one next door because their price is reasonable and the quality of the food is steady.

Yelp
I had a pretty solid experience coming here last time. For a supermarket food court restaurant, while more expensive than some other places around town, they did have some solid quality. I also love the fact that they're open until 9pm and you can still get dim sum at night! I got orders of the Beef Ho Fun, Soup Dumplings, Turnip Cakes, and Wonton Soup. The Ho Fun was a good sized portion with lots of tender strips of beef and wok seared onions that complemented the chewy and slightly crispy rice noodles. The soup dumplings were alright, but the turnip cakes were a good size and had just the right amount of crispness on the outside from being seared on the flattop. But the best item to me was the Wonton Soup. It was a giant bowl with probably 14 shrimp and pork wontons. They were nice and plump with good sized chunks of shrimp on the inside. Really delicious and totally warms you up on a cold night. Will be back again for late night eats next time! :)
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
So much food for the price! I got the beef ho fun and I had leftovers for days. The dimsum is also delicious. I tried the rice roll with fried dough on the inside. Best Chinese food we've found in the Atlanta area.
google avatar

Nghia V.

Yelp
I love this place. They have everything from your basic roasted duck, roasted pig, and Pipa duck (basically a duck cut in half and prepped before bbq to make it crispier than normal roasted duck). They have dimsum and who wouldn have thought this place in a food court beats alllll dimsum places I have been to in atlanta. The xiu mai is to die for. It is freshly made and not frozen, xiu mai is combined between pork and shrimp so you don't have to compromise to only getting pork and shrimp. The combination between pork and shrimp is amazing. The stuffed eggplant is also amazing. The crispy shrimp roll is amazingly fresh and so juicy. The tofu skin stuffed was good but I enjoyed the crispy shrimp roll much more. So many items to try. The portion for each dimsum is like double of other places also. The wait for your dimsum can be quite long but it's totally worth the wait for fresh dim sum! I always ask for the special dimsum sauce (not your typical soy sauce, I still don't know what it is) They also have a main menu that is known as cantonese food such as wonton noodle soup. One of my favorite place on Pleasant Hill.

Yelp
So, the good news is their health score is a 91 now!! I journeyed up to the Duluth area with my mom on a Sunday morning to do some serious Asian grocery store shopping and we decided to break for lunch at Best BBQ. She loves this place and I can totally see why. There was a small crowd when we ordered at 11:30 but nothing too crazy, however, they were super busy by the time we finished eating at noon. This place is located in a food court of a supermarket so it's all self-serve and because it's a Chinese place, the people aren't going to be super friendly or anything, but again, that's expected. I let my mom take the lead and she ordered the necessities: Har Gow (shrimp dumplings), Shumai (pork dumplings), turnip cake, and a three meat BBQ combo meal (because who can resist that succulent, fatty meat hanging in the window?!). At the counter there's freshly brewed hot tea and ice-cold water for the American Asians. There's also fresh house-made chili oil, soy sauce, and red vinegar. You'd think with typical dim sum, and because I can put away some dim sum, three small plates and one BBQ combo would not be too much food. WRONG. The dim sum here is HUGE. Like so, so big. I've heard the chef was hired from NYC and it totally shows. The quality of the meat inside the delicate wrapping is plump, juicy, incredible. Even the turnip cake is better than any one I've had in Atlanta. The combo also came with like a cup of hearty soup. Lunch costs us $20 and I have enough leftovers for a filling dinner. Hands down the best dim sum in the city. Reminds me of NYC Chinatown and maybe better than most places there. This is what quality Chinese food is -- must try!
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
This is my usual joint for Chinese BBQ. However, the price has gone up significantly this month (December, 2021). A two-choice BBQ meat combination costs $16 plus tax while the price was $12 prior to the price increase. A 33% price increase is totally shocking. I understand the inflation is here, but 33% ? that is ridiculous and price gauging. The food quality and portion is not improved at all. I wonder if they can justify the price increase. Sorry, I am staying away from this joint from now on.
google avatar

Yelp
Love their bbq spare ribs like I used to eat in Massachusetts. Their bbq pork is also very good. Would gladly make the trip again.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
I am still in love with the dim sum here especially when I crave it after 2/3pm and that is when restaurants wrap up and no longer serve it. Here you can order dim sum at anytime of the day. The make it fresh to order. I usually wait about 15-20 minutes for it to cook but that's ok because the food is always so good. They also give free water and hot tea so that's awesome. On certain days they have baked desserts like egg custard or sesame balls if you have a sweet tooth. So far everything I ordered here has always been delicious. They haven't disappointed me. This is probably my 8th time coming here since they opened. They serve authentic dishes!
google avatar

Caroline W.

Yelp
30 mins waiting for way too pricey food. Asking $25 for a stir fried veggie dish and the portion is slightly bigger than what you normally get in Chinese restaurant.

Alice Y.

Yelp
As of September 2021, they have raised their dim sum prices significantly. What used to be "large", are now "Specials". What used to be "small" are now "Mediums". For example the turnip cake used to be "small" at $3.55, now it's $5. The sticky rice in lotus leaf used to be a "large" at $5.75 per order, now it's a "Special" at $7 per order. On top of that all the prices have gone up. Their medium dishes used to be $4.65, now they are $5 each. Most of their dim sum taste pretty good, but I had a horrible experience today. I paid $50 for 9 dim sum plates. 2 plates of the siu mai were sour and rotten tasting. That's $5 x 2 plates that's inedible. $10 down the toilet. If you are going to raise your prices, you should not serve your customers bad meat. This was inexcusable. Their roast meats are also much more expensive. $16 a pound for siu yuk (the crispy pork) and sometimes they give you a lot of bone. Over $26 for a roast duck. Do yourself a favor and head down the street to Ming's BBQ for more reasonable prices. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, we have been getting take out from here. If we were eating there, I would have taken the siu mai up to the counter and demanded a refund.

Yelp
I have book mark this place since my first Atlanta Yelp Friend has visited this place more than a year ago. She like this Chinese BBQ place and is her often visit place. It must be good. This vendors is actually locate in the Great Wall supermarket at the food court. The name vendors Best BBQ actually backup what they have serve. It is one of the best Chinese BBQ that I have. The also serve some stir fry Chinese dish. However, I think the Chinese BBQ is the best choice. I like their BBQ pork and BBQ rib. This time I do not have a chance to try their crispy pork. However, I have try their roast duck. Their BBQ and duck are marinated to the bone. This a popular place. A lot people in line either get the BBQ or their stir fry dish. The food is great and the price reasonable.

Yelp
Plenty of people complain about the service but honestly, this restaurant is in high demand and I understand the no frills attitude. As long as you know your order and have your payment ready when approaching the counter, all is well. I've been here a few times. I appreciate the late hours and expansive menu. The dim sum is hit or miss. The har gao and shumai are the most consistent however they do NOT travel well so keep this in mind. The roast pork is the only BBQ I've ordered and it's good! Not the best but really good. It will definitely satisfy your cravings. The skin is super crispy and salty, the meat is juicy. Typically, there is still room for a little more fat to be rendered so there's that... but it's still delicious. 9 times out of 10, they will overcompensate for the requested amount of meat. Considering this is weighed out, they don't care how much it is after it's been cut so I recommend under ordering for the roast pork.

Yelp
Parking is easy to find because it is located inside the Great Wall Supermarket. It is one of the restaurants in the food court. We ordered half of the roasted duck to go, and it was about $14. The duck was too fat itself, so most of the meat were duck fat. You can truly feel the greasy fat when you eat it... The flavor was okay, but a little too salty. I didn't even put the sauce on because it was salty enough. The staff was friendly, yet the quality of the duck could be improved. Overall, a very average place if you want to look for some authentic roasted duck.

Yelp
I was recommended Best BBQ Cantonese from a friend who said I HAD to try out their Beef Chow fun dish. Since I don't get told often that I HAVE TO try a dish, I made quick stop in. Best BBQ is located in Great Wall, a decent sized super market near the Pleasant hill sweet hut, and will be the last restaurant in the food court (it's the one with the hanging ducks), which on many days (especially on the weekends) is a bustling and VERY busy food court where seats are hard to come by. While BBQ is in their name, I decided to go with the recommended Beef Chow Fun (just over $10). The Beef Chow Fun, a flat rice noodle dish, was a very generous size that you can easily get a couple of meals out of. The Beef, in the Beef Chow Fun dish are grilled, sliced and pretty tender. The only complaint is the dish overall is kinda greasy, so watch out for that. I really enjoyed Best BBQ Cantonese and definitely recommend it if you're finding yourself in the food court here.

Yelp
You can find Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine at 2300 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth, GA 30096 in the Great Wall Supermarket about a block west of Satellite Blvd where it crosses Pleasant Hill Rd. This is the market directly across from Sweet Hut Bakery. When you walk into the supermarket its along the food court to the left, all the way in back - look for tall black letters "CANTONESE CUISINE." I met with a group of friends for a lunch UYE at the Great Wall Supermarket hosted by Tuong Vi P (https://www.yelp.com/events/duluth-uye-lets-do-saturday-lunch-great-wall-supermarket) - basically about a dozen of us sampled various treats from one of about 5-6 restaurants in the food court. This food court specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine so you'll see variations of dumplings, saucy dishes, pork belly and Chinese BBQ. The Saturday was extremely busy with a full market and full food court - it took some time to gather together the many tables we needed and people kept coming to join our group. Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine focuses on Chinese BBQ with several samples hanging from the display window. The menu offers many items, some I'm not very familiar with but the sections for Congee and Noodle Soup had the most options. I decided to try something a bit different so after studying the menu order the soup dumplings (one of my favorites) alone with the roasted duck. I stood in line for about 15 minutes as it was quite busy. Together these two took about 20 minutes to come to me with each dishes being delivered at different times. The woman behind the counter was a bit off-putting as I think she had some difficulty communicating with me - the next time I'll make sure I have someone with me that can translate a bit - not blaming her but anything beyond pointing at menu line items seemed to be a bit beyond what she could accommodate. The duck I thought was OK but I prefer the roasted duck you can find at Bo Bo Garden in Buford Hwy - the consistency was similar but the sauces at Bo Bo gives it more flavor - what I received at Best BBQ was just served on rice. The soup dumplings were delicious with a strong shrimp flavor - the broth was also quite good and not overly salty. I'm no expert in Chinese food, unfortunately growing up in the US offered up mostly the schwag Chinese food found in the likes of restaurants with names like "Golden Buddha" - you know what I mean, however I believe the flavors found in this mall are very authentic. Yelp
Best BBQ is a Hong Kong style Chinese BBQ food court stall located inside the Great Wall Supermarket in Duluth. This place is great. The name of the business is appropriate because it indeed is one of the best places in metro Atlanta to get Cantonese roasted meats. Hong Kong BBQ inside Chamblee's Chinatown Mall food court and Big Wong BBQ inside Hong Kong Supermarket's food court (Norcross) also come to mind as well as Ming's BBQ to a certain extent (ITP and OTP). Best BBQ may be the best of the lot. It's certainly the newest, and cleanest, and they accept credit cards. Some of the aforementioned competitors are cash only. Pork, duck, chicken -- they have it all and it's on display behind a glass window just like the street stalls in Hong Kong. This place is popular and the food turns over quick, meaning the meats stay fresh. I've sat and ate lunch here and seen entire racks of pork and several sets of whole duck get chopped and replenished at a brisk rate. The BBQ meats are served in an assortment of styles. Examples: - Pork: crispy (with fat), honey BBQ (char siu), BBQ spare ribs - Duck: roasted, salted, bitter, crispy, pipa (flattened) - Chicken: poached, soy sauce, salted, scallion oil (my dad's favorite) BBQ isn't the only thing on the menu. There's also congee (rice porridge), noodle soups, rice dishes, dim sum, and other entrees. All very good. Like other Asian food court stalls, there are helpful picture menus on the wall. Best BBQ actually has a rather long counter. Part of the counter has packaged, ready-made foods like pig ears (both marinated and unmarinated), chicken feet (just like dim sum), peanut fish, and duck kidneys. Finally, one of the best "features" or "secrets" (it's not really a secret to Chinese people) of Best BBQ is you can buy fresh seafood (e.g. live lobster) and/or other foods at the supermarket and bring it over and the chefs will cook it for you. They are very accommodating as far as requests go. Dishes, whether it's foods you bring over from the supermarket or Best BBQ's own, are highly customizable, just so long as there's no language barrier (which there very may well be). I think the prices are fair, especially for the quality of meat you get. I've found that the roasted meats here are generally fresher, leaner, and relatively less greasy than the other guys. Pork can be purchased at $9.50 per pound (perhaps slightly above the average going rate). Whole duck can be purchased for $21.95. Whole chicken, about $17-18 each. Note these have already been cooked and possibly seasoned or marinated. Congee is affordable at roughly $5-7 per bowl. Noodle soups are $7-8 per bowl. Rice plates are roughly $7-8 each. All of the roasted meats I've tried have been terrific. I highly recommend the honey BBQ pork (char siu), roast duck, soy sauce chicken, and scallion oil chicken. They are great on-the-go or at the food court. My family loves getting pounds of the roast pork by itself to take home. The noodle soups are fantastic. The savory broth is comparably light to other Hong Kong noodle soups I've had around town. I like the egg noodles they use. Very appetizing. Chinese broccoli is a common veggie used in the soups to accompany the noodles and meat. Both the roast duck and BBQ pork go great in the soups. Note the duck is chopped and served bone-in. The crispy pork and BBQ pork are boneless. The duck meat is tender and the pork is simply delicious. The rice plates are very good too. The meats are served over white rice with a generous helping of chopped Chinese mustard greens and a small bowl of chicken stock with taro and sweet potato. The soup is bland, but it's there to offset the richness and somewhat intense flavors of the roasted meats. No matter what form of BBQ you order, the meats will be chopped and served directly from the display rack in front of you. It's fun to watch. Don't overlook the dim sum either! Best BBQ's dim sum is actually quite good and stands up to the best dim sum restaurants in Atlanta. I've only had Best BBQ's dim sum on weekends around lunchtime, so I'm not sure if they offer dim sum on weekdays. Some dim sum items I like to get here are chicken feet (one of my favorite dim sum items since I was a child) and xiaolongbao, which are Shanghai soup dumplings. It's amazing how much great food this food court stall pumps out. Payment is done upfront. Dine-in orders are served on trays. Take-out orders are served in Styrofoam or sturdy plastic containers with snap-shut lids and securely packaged/tied in plastic bags. A self-serve pitcher of water + disposable chopsticks, condiments (e.g. chili oil) are available at the pick-up counter. If dining in, trays with used dishes/silverware should be returned at the far left counter of the stall. Ample parking is available in the Great Wall Supermarket parking lot. To find Best BBQ, enter the supermarket and the food court is directly to your left. Best BBQ is in the very back. Enjoy!

Yelp
Good food and prices for the portions for a food court spot inside Great Wall supermarket. It smells funny if you're going to eat there so you're probably better off ordering To-Go with the fish aisle not too far away, there's a strong stench. However every time we've ordered here the food is quick and tastes fresh. I've yet to try their roast duck or roasted crispy pork but there always seems to be a line for those ordering. Maybe next time. Ordering is made fairly easy since there are some faded lit up pictures and numbers on the wall so you can order by number, assuming you know what you're looking at! We've had the crispy pan fried noodles but instead of seafood opted for just shrimp. These were nice a crispy but we all agreed it tastes like soaked mama noodles in its seasoning packets that have then been dried and deep fried and the gravy made to top it off, added protein and veggies. Being said they are tasty and didn't leave me that night needing to chug three bottles of water after from so much msg like other places. We also had the sautéed green beans which were plentiful and flavorful! Came with a side of steamed rice and a bowl of broth. We tried the fried rice and were happy to see the healing plate full and the taste was also create. Wok charred that you'd expect in Chinese cuisine done correctly that's fragrant but not burnt. The fried rice picture included bbq pork and shrimp. Overall it's a solid spot I'd pick up takeout and eat for days after if I was already there to pick up some groceries. Since I live in midtown I don't know if I'd make the trek that far just for this spot which so many other great places to eat around town!

Yelp
It's true. They're the best. According to my family anyway. We are no longer picking up our BBQ and roasted meats from Hoa Binh inside the perimeter. Each time my mom prepares a meal at home in memory of our ancestors, I stop by Best BBQ to pick up soy sauce chicken and either honey bbq pork or roasted pork in a 1/2 or 1 lb portion. Soy sauce chicken: this is a staple Cantonese chicken dish often found at bbq shops. The glossy whole chicken is dunked in a soy sauce mix and the silky sheen of the skin draws me in every time through the looking glass! The meat is juicy and perfect when dipped in soy sauce and diced Thai chiles (prepared at home) and the ginger and scallion condiment. Honey bbq pork: A salty and sweet bite of tasty pork that goes well with everything it seems -- on its own, as a stuffing for pork buns, in stir fry's and over steamed white rice. Food coloring lends the red color and honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar hoisin sauce, five spice powder and rice wine create the flavor that can do no wrong. Roasted pork: listen to the butcher's cleaver chop through the fatty, crispy pork skin. Yes, please. Oh and my first love--dim sum. If atmosphere and the rolling carts aren't important to you, come here for affordable and mouthwatering dim sum delights. Order at the register off of a laminated menu and get ready.
