This is my absolute favorite place to get jewelry. Over 10 years ago I walked into this store and looked at rings that I actually felt like I’d want to wear. Their custom rings are so creative! My super cool cousin, sister and now husband were in cahoots to customize my engagement ring set a few years later. I recently went on a hoop earring bender ordering 5 pairs and I get compliments on them all constantly. My favorite place to order gifts. B&I rocks ✨

I absolutely loved working with this company. I was only in Portland for a few days and live out of state, but I was able to pick a specific gem and setting in store and have it shipped quite promptly. Kelly M. was wonderful and guided me through each step of customization. Her professionalism and enthusiasm made the whole process enjoyable. The quality of materials and care in making each piece is top notch, and I also highly recommend if you have any current jewlery that needs alteration. I am beyond overjoyed with how my rings turned out. I haven’t been able to wear my wedding ring for the last couple years because I’ve needed to get it resized. Unfortunately during the ice storm our house flooded, we got displaced and my wedding ring was stolen. 😔 Fortunately, I had my Grandmother’s diamond she passed down to me. I couldn’t wait to take it to Betsy to get a custom setting. The whole process was so enjoyable. She is such a lovely person. The communication was excellent. The space is so inviting and the other team members are wonderful to work with. When I saw my rings it truly took my breath away, and I got emotional. I really can't say enough about the experience I had at Fiina buying my fiancé's rings, but I'm sure gonna try. We had traveled to Portland for contract work and were only there temporarily. Our contracts were rather unpredictable and we weren't sure how long we'd be staying in Portland, but what I did know was that I was going to propose before we left. My fiance and I had been through Fiina before and had a good experience browsing their limited but stylish collection. We shopped around a bit at a number of other fine jewelers, who showed us extravagant designs with equally extravagant pricing. What brought us back to Fiina was not only the subtle and classic designs, but their more than reasonable costs compared to their competition. So once I knew exactly what my bride to be wanted, I started hatching a plan to develop the custom rings with the sales manager Kelly helping me along the way. She and I communicated back and forth about the exact designs to make sure it was perfect. Then, came the wrench in my plan. We expected to be extending our contracts but unfortunately, that didn't happen and there was no work left for us in Portland. We would have to return home to the Midwest weeks before I anticipated, and before the custom rings were finished. I frantically hatched a plan with the Fiina team, as I was still going to propose before we left. These people BENT OVER BACKWARDS to make this ridiculous plan of mine work. Without going into the gritty details and making this review a novel, the proposal was a success. The custom jewelry wouldn't be finished before our return home, so Kelly provided updates until they were finally complete. AND THEN, once they were ready to be shipped, Kelly covered shipping and insuring costs! As you can see, the rings are absolutely stunning. There literally isn't any other way our experience at Fiina could have been better. This is the pinnacle of customer service and what every retailer should strive to emulate. Is this the best jewelry store in all of Portland? Yes. Yes it is. First of all, they have an incredible selection of both jewelry made by the owner as well as imported jewelry from other amazing artists. They also have a ton of other cool stuff like gorgeous perfumes, candles, trinkets, art, etc. I always find something I love when I go and find it my number one place to shop if I'm looking to get a unique gift for someone. Second, the service is so beyond incredible. The staff remembered so much about me and my husband even though it had been months in between visits. They are all so friendly and helpful. I even had an earring break and they had a replacement created and shipped at no cost. I really have nothing but great things to say. They opened a fine jewelry store behind their main location and I do plan on getting some replacement wedding rings for our anniversary from them because they are gorgeous and, I think, reasonably priced. Beautiful, unique, quality jewelry, most made right in the workshop adjacent to the boutique. In addition to their own brand and styles, they carry original jewelry from other local artists. Whether you are seeking a special commemorative gift or a one of a kind piece for yourself, definitely visit Betsey & Iya! Recently I stopped in their new location just a block from their original boutique. The modern moss green building on the corner of NW 24th and Thurman with an inviting courtyard immediately catches one's eye. The day I stopped in, the bright blue sky and white clouds reflecting in their window begged for a photo. This was my first time in the new location and it is everything! Bathing in lots of natural light with hardwood floors and deep black walls, the footprint is larger and more inviting. The jewelry is arranged on a large display in the center with textiles, bags, clothing, books and gifts on shelves along the walls so it's easy to see everything and walk around with ease. The staff is very friendly and helpful without ever being pushy. They understand that browsing is part of the process and let you do your own thing. I'm the type that likes to try on lots of jewelry as I'm very visual. They have lots of mirrors and you can access most jewelry yourself and have fun. When you come across the piece that works, you will know! After shopping here, walk next door to Solabee for beautiful houseplants To adorn your home. Then venture down NW Thurman to St. Honore or any one of the coffee, pastry, bagel, Ramen shops just a block or two away. It's worth making Betsy & Iya a destination for you and your friends.

Where to start?! The jewelry is gorgeous, unique, ethically sourced. But it's the experience of shopping at B+I that really sets them apart-- welcoming, authentic and knowledgeable staff, a peaceful environment, surrounded by beautiful things. *Swoon* My husband had a custom ring made for me for our anniversary and the entire process from consultation, design, and finished product was enjoyable. He felt heard throughout the process and the ring is now an item I will treasure forever. Absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! Simply could not recommend Betsy + Iya highly enough.

I am absolutely over the moon at the experience I had working with Betsy & Iya!! Not only did we work to do a custom wedding + engagement ring stack, but I've also purchased necklaces, earrings, and a dress at their store. After having a not-so-positive experience at another jeweler, Betsy and Barrie made us feel so heard, and created a design that ultimately blew us out of the water. They were very communicative and I would 12/10 recommend them to anyone who is looking to design a custom engagement/wedding ring.

I've been wearing Betsy & Iya jewelry for almost a decade, on a daily basis. When they started offering custom work, I knew that I wanted them to make a ring for me with my grandmother's tourmaline. I ended up having two rings designed and fabricated, and I am so pleased with them! The design process was really collaborative, and they made sure the rings would be beautiful, but also durable, so now I wear one of these rings everyday. I live in California, but whenever I'm passing through Portland, I make a point to stop by the store to say hello and check out what new lovely items they have in their great space.

Betsy & Iya's shop in NW Portland is a terrific location for beautiful moderno jewlery and clothing. They have a shop on site that crafts bespoke jewlery pieces. They just handed me a pendant with chain and a brooch that Betsy, Barrie, and the shop team brought to fruition from a sketch of mine with absolutely stunning results. Working with them was a joy. This shop is an ornament of my corner of PDX, and the staff that operate there is the best - !

Everything is hand made in the Portland store or in the USA. the earrings are balanced and comfortable. they know what they are doing. You know so many times earrings are pretty but heavy and don't hang right? The prices are reasonable given the quality, comfort, made in USA, and originalness of the designs. Very impressed! Only in Portland, because artists can find affordable workplaces.

I've been looking for stackable rings, and Betsy & Iya sell wonderful, simplistic, yet elegant faceted (and smooth) gold and silver rings. I was able to get 5 rings (a mix of smooth and faceted gold ones) for about $130 (although I didn't go for the solid gold options... not within my budget lol). So far, they haven't tarnished and haven't effected my fingers in any way/made my skin green. The service was lovely, even though I was helped by someone who was new to the store, and they had the rings on a stand that allowed me to try on all the different sizes to make sure they fit each finger correctly. Additionally, it's good to note that Betsy & Iya is a company focused on the fair trade of jewelry (meaning that their products are all made and sourced ethically). If you're looking for stackable rings, this is the place to go. It's so much better than trying to find stackable rings online that may or may not be the right size, will likely tarnish, and are most likely not sourced ethically.

This store has beautiful, high-quality jewelry. I purchased a dainty necklace with a single freshwater pearl, and it's perfect. It's so delicate and goes with just about everything. I believe every piece of jewelry featured in this store is made by a local artist, which I love. The clothes are also adorable, and they give me total 70s vibes (my favorite decade). The associates are so kind and helpful, and the shop is adorable. Perfect spot for buying a gift for a loved one or even just treating yourself.

I worked with Betsy & Iya to make a custom engagement ring/wedding band combination and the whole process was wonderful. I went into it knowing next to nothing about jewelry and yet came out of their process with beautiful meaningful custom pieces. They were very budget-aware and transparent about costs as well. I absolutely LOVE Betsy & Iya. I feel like they are truly an iconic Portland brand. They make quality pieces that people will compliment you on all over town. They have pricey items, but they have affordable pieces too. One of the best bets is to visit during their yearly as-is sale where they have a huge assortment of jewelry at major discounts. People line up around the block for the event, so it's best to arrive a bit before they open to hop in line. It's a small space, so they can only let so many people in at a time. One thing I love about this event is how respectful and kind everyone is at this sale, from the employees to the customers. They have a reward program and send out birthday discounts, so I think it's worth signing up. They also have a Chinook Book coupon to take advantage of.

There is everything to love about this store. First, the jewelry is gorgeous and appropriate for everyone. My 30 something daughter loves it, and my 60 something self loves it. Earrings, necklaces you name it. The pieces are unique and beautiful. The customer service is above and beyond. I lost one earring- just one and it was easily replaced. I love their social conscience also- jewelry for a cause. The store adapted during COVID plenty of ways to purchase safely. Repeating- there is everything to love about this store.

Stumbled upon this place as I was walking home from a coffee run. A card on display that read "You (greater than) Beer" caught my eye and I simply had to duck inside and check it out. Well, I walked out with about half of my cash tips spent from bartending last night, whoops. But I couldn't help it!! What the hell? So glad I took an impromptu neighborhood stroll this morning. This is exactly the kind of boutique you'd expect to find in NW, whatever that may mean to you. To me, it means handmade jewelry, quirky wares that are PERFECT for upcoming birthdays and holidays, and a welcoming storefront with happy, inspired sales associates clearly passionate about their wares. The store itself is "curated" very nicely. Not too overwhelming, lovely displays that make you want to buy shit, and a quick peek behind the counter reveals the owner herself making said jewelry. Um, this is awesome. And I bought a little air plant terrarium and the apothecary matchstick bottle (the latter as a gift), just for the record. Betsy & Iya (greater than) your run-of-the-mill mall franchise.

I ordered a beautiful UZI NYC top from this store and it's perfect! Shipping was super fast. They even sent me a really sweet handwritten card too. Great store! If I'm ever in Portland I'd love to visit in person.

At first we thought we'd just have them design a ring for me using a stone that we found at a gem show, but the results were so unbelievably beautiful and unique that we decided to get a matching band made for him. Following a consultation in which we shared details about our relationship and family, we received design options from Betsy that symbolically incorporated aspects of our story. The written explanations she provided about the connections she saw between our story and elements of the ring design were so moving that we are planning to incorporate them into our wedding ceremony. Came in to get a custom piece with engraving on it for a last minute birthday gift. Usually the turn around time is 1 day fastest up to two weeks. They somehow managed to expedite the process given the circumstances and got it done within the same hour. Very accommodating and welcoming space. For sure would recommended it

Beautiful must visit store in Portland for local made jewelry by Betsy and a unique selection of well curated gifts. One of the unique aspects of this gorgeous store is that you can see the in-house studio space and see how everything is crafted. We loved visiting the store and taking a stroll down the neighborhood after for coffee.

The best! Have bought several pieces of jewelry for my wife here, both in person and from home (Los Angeles). They are such a pleasure to work with, and so incredibly helpful. Great product, and even better service!

I found the perfect earrings (Mare in sterling silver) for my daughter's birthday present - easy to order on-line, pricing is reasonable, delivery was as promised. The styles look terrific (my daughter is 41 and I'm 73 and there are choices for both of us!) and having the dimensions plus a photo of a live person wearing each item is very helpful because I'm ordering on-line. I appreciated the email thanks for the order and was even more pleasantly surprised to get a handwritten note thanking me for the specific purchase, so obviously not a pre-written canned communication.

I love Betsy and Iya. As I have gotten older, I find that I have been curating my tastes more narrowly. I use to buy jewelry anywhere, both cheap and expensive. I ended up with a jewelry box full of things I don't like and never wear. No more. Now I occasional buy myself a very nice, locally made piece that will last a long time. All of my B&I jewelry is carefully constructed and meant to last. The shop ladies are so sweet, never hover, and offer great advice on how to wear each piece. This is the cutest local handmade jewelry shop in Portland! Everything is amazing from the floors in the store to the production team in the back. They have tons of beautiful, affordable jewelry. Also check out there cute cards and clothing. Everything is gorgeous. The staff are so helpful and friendly as well.

Best.humans.ever!!! And killer artists! I already had some of my favorite pieces from Betsy. And then I got an email (of course I joined the mailing list) saying she was creating custom pieces. At that same time, my husband and I were just coming back together, but in a way we were never so close. The same was true for the whole family unit. Without a second thought we reached out to Betsy to ask her if she could design pieces for all four of us to symbolize our re-unification! We visited Portland to see Betsy, all four of us, and told her our whole story and our crazy journey. We have her full creative authority! I knew only that I wanted a triangle component, and that I wanted something in the pieces representing each family member. We let Betsy do her thing, and a month or so ago we went back to Portland to pick up our pieces. We were speechless! The pieces Betsy created were nothing short of amazing! She took our Story, our love, our emotion, and turned it all into incredible, wearable art for everyone to experience! My ring set is incredible! So full of Betsy's own emotion and love! And each piece ties together...my set? My husbands ring, and our kids' pendants. Not only do we have amazing jewelry to show from Betsy, but we have created friendships with Betsy and Barrie, and also can feel the heart and soul that was poured into these pieces! We cannot thank you enough guys! You created so much more than any of us could have expected.

Ordered online, and the beautiful, hand crafted earrings arrived promptly and even lovelier than I had imagined. This is a class business ... a week later, I received a handwritten thank you note from the team thanking me for my purchase. This just doesn't happen anymore! I am a borderline spendthrift. I like to buy way too much cool shit, and the notion of a "budget" is completely greek to me. And since I spend such an ungodly amount of money on food and drink, the only way to keep myself out of Chapter 7 is to limit my exposure to cool shops. So while I know a ton about the Portland culinary scene, I know little about boutique retail. But that's changed a lot over the past month with my pledge to shop local and my desire to get out and commune with P-town's independent retailers. This renaissance has been at the expense of my wallet, and Betsy & Iya have contributed plenty to my fiduciary delinquency. This cute shop has all sorts of stuff I in no way need... but it's the kind of stuff I could so very easily spend lots of dollars on. Hand-made jewelry, Portland-crafted candles, stationary, art, wallets, accessories and really plenty of things that could easily catch your eye. Lots (maybe all) of the wares are local, and many from sister-boutiques like Radish Underground (which I also love). Fortunately for me, I don't do Christmas presents, so I was able to (with the strongest of will power) avoid buying all sorts of cool things I saw for friends and family when I visited this store. But I simply could not resist the little matchstick bottles made from old apothecary glass. A nifty little old-timey bottle that has a pattern etched on the bottom for lighting the strike-anywhere matches on display inside. Oh what? Do I need two? One for each bathroom in my house? Don't mind if I do. Not cheap, but who needs cheap shit in their house anyway? I have plenty of that crap held over from college. Time to man up and start decorating the way I want my place to look. Seriously: me + shops like this = broke. So I just have to stay away. But you shouldn't. Especially if you like cool handmade jewelry. They have a bunch.

Haven't yet visited the Brick & Mortar shop, but I've placed several phone and online orders - outstanding customer service and gorgeous compliment inducing jewelry. I wear something from Betsy and Iya daily and I'm hard pressed to buy accessories from anywhere else I love the line so much. Next time I'm in Portland I'm definitely paying this shop and their amazing crew a visit.

Oh, I was so hoping that Betsy and Iya had a Yelp presence. I found Betsy (and Iya) through Etsy and found her jewelry absolutely gorgeous. My super impression was then cemented by Betsy's friendly and prompt communication. I went down to her studio on Saturday to retrieve the earrings I wanted and fell into a short (but lovely!) conversation with her. I of course walked out with not one but two pairs of earrings (and several business cards) and have already received several compliments on my choices. Betsy is super sweet and incredibly talented. Betsy & Iya is quite possibly my new favorite jewelry maker. I was lucky enough to have a custom necklace made for me by Betsy, and I get compliments every single time I wear it. I love looking through her web site and seeing her new creations, and they're always uniquely gorgeous and well-made. I'm not a frequent wearer of jewelry, but Betsy & Iya creations are one of the rare exceptions to that!
