The 9 Best Brunch Restaurants In Miami Beach

"Bettant is a solid French bakery on Washington Ave., which can be a slightly touristy area without a lot of good food options. But that’s all the more reason to have Bettant on your radar. There’s nothing touristy about this place. They have good croissants, tarts, and incredibly large baguettes, which they turn into tasty sandwiches. And you can buy more than enough to fill you up for under $15 too, which is nice considering the pricey restaurants around the area." - ryan pfeffer

The Best Coffee Shops In Miami Beach

"Bettant is a bakery first and foremost - and one of Miami’s best. So if you’re looking for food as well as coffee, this is a good choice. However, you can still come to this South Beach spot even if your sole objective is coffee. They do the basics here - espressos, lattes, coladas - with beans from local roaster Great Circle Coffee." - ryan pfeffer

My time in Miami wouldn’t have been the same without this place. Coffee is nice and pastries are just incredible. Be patient because it’s always crowded and worth the wait. There’s lovely outdoor and indoor space to sit. Definitely a must!

Google
Just wonderful. Simple, no frills but amazing bread, empanadas, croissants, cinnamon rolls and a myriad of beautiful pastries. I wish I could sample everything. And lovely happy staff. Do yourself a favour, and give them a visit. 💙

Google
Bettant Bakery is a gem! The tuna sandwich is absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and served on perfectly crusty bread. The Nutella croissant was another highlight, with just the right balance of sweetness and a flaky, buttery texture. The quality of the pastries here is outstanding. Service was quick and friendly, even during busy hours. Whether you’re craving a light meal or something sweet, this place is a must-visit. Great spot for grabbing a casual bite while enjoying the atmosphere. Highly recommended! I had breakfast here almost every day during my one-week trip to South Beach.

Google
Bettant Bakery was the highlight of my trip to South Beach. I had my breakfast over there every morning, trying different goodies. Everything was great: fresh and delicious. I even packed the almond croissant in my bag to take it home ✈️ Highly recommend 👍

Google
Charming little café with super friendly service. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. A great find! Perfect for a relaxed breakfast or quick coffee stop.

Google
What an incredible place! We had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and an avocado bread with a small salad on the side, the bread very fluffy and light, the avocado spread was light and it had a very unique taste, which I’ve never had anywhere else before, definitely going back for that the next time. Also the dressing for the salad was a pure joy. We even came back before they’ve closed to get some blueberry muffins, a blueberry Danish and a French baguette to take home with us. Traveling from Germany on a regular basis visiting family it is such a joy to finally knowing a place where we can get high end hand made bread and pastries, which we always miss when staying in the US. The owners are incredibly friendly and their staff as well. What a gem in south beach. If I would live here I would be for sure a regular! Totally in love with this place!

Google
warm almond crescent is the best i ever had. there is nothing on the level of the raisin roll hand down amazing. my family loved the butter sugar , the plain crescents, turnovers , quiche, baguette, and must take home mini palmers. must try if you're in the area. so glad we found this place while on vacation from New Hampshire.

Google
Found this yummy spot right across from our hotel, it did not disappoint! I got some sort of apple pastry and a latte which were both so good!! They had so many options and super quick service, I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Quant, quality and overall a delicious experience. Stopped in for breakfast and the smells wafting from the counter instantly drew us in. We opted for simple, fresh croissant egg sandwiches don't need to be complicated. On the way out I picked up a lemon turnover the size of my head. Needless to say no photos there, I ate it.

Yelp
Not a really good bakery place. The pastries are not fresh. The coffee is not good at all either, they don't know how to use the coffee machine. The place is not clean, very dirty floor. First and last time I come to this place. If you can avoid it, please go to another place

Yelp
We have always stopped by for the delicious almond croissant and pastries since opening. Today, however, was the first time we have tried Bettant's sourdough bread and ooooh my! How did we miss out on this all these years!! I know it's french ;) but it reminded me soooo much of the yummy bread from my hometown in Germany. Just a wonderful texture with such an abundance of seeds/flavor in EACH bite (which I find is rare). There are luckily lots of artisan bakeries opening up in Miami, recently. We have tried almost all of them. This by FAR, in our opinion, is the best bread that we have had. A crust that wont ruin your soft palate but is still crispy, and a CRUMB that's airy yet has a chew.

Yelp
The best chicken sandwich Ive ever had. Delicious, fresh bread and caramelized onions. Such a cute bakery with sweet workers. Need to visit again soon!

Yelp
Sooooo Good! This French bakery is a classic at the beach! We have had breakfast at this place for years and it only gets better. The ladies that work here are the sweetest, their service is amazing , the ambience is cool , lots of tourist.

Yelp
Super friendly shop. We stopped by for coffee and pastries for breakfast. The line went quickly and there are few seats indoors and outdoors. We didn't have to wait long for a table to turnover though. The croissant was huge! The outside had a good flaky crust and the inside was fluffy buttery goodness. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This was my second time visiting Bettant Bakery and I really enjoyed it. I ordered a croissant and almond croissant along with an iced latte. The staff is super nice and kind. The almond croissant was SO good. The filling was a perfect balance and the croissant was flaky and tasty. I had a cheese croissant last time and also a good choice. The only thing that was lacking was the iced latte. The coffee was watery and the light coffee flavor was a bit burnt. So maybe I'll still with a small hot coffee or cortadito next time. The decor in the bakery is very cute. Inside and outside seating. You can also take a peak inside the kitchen and see them baking. Can't wait to come back and try more pastries!

Yelp
I didn't take pictures because I had given up on finding anything memorable to eat in Miami. This was the best! The empanadas were soft and crispy - perfectly crusty, and so full of flavor! I had bacon, egg and cheese croissant. The croissant was flaky and buttery, the bacon and eggs cooked perfectly. Matt had a ham, egg and cheese croissant and was very impressed. We had to also share a chocolate croissant! The best food we had in Miami definitely. Also the service was friendly and quick!

Yelp
A cute bakery/coffee shop to stumble upon on our walk on Washington Ave. This place must be popular because even on an early morning, it was busy. They have a small table area for dining, feels very cozy and warm and was dog friendly. We ordered their Almond Croissant as they had an award for the pastry. I was very impressed. Was a decently sized croissant, with the perfect balance of flaky and crisp sweetness. We also ordered the florentine empanada and ham and cheese empanada. I had a cortadito as well which was one of the best I've had in the area. I think it says a lot when you realize the bakery is family owned and has been serving delicious goodness for several generations.

Yelp
Bread bread bread. The unmistakable aroma of delicious bread can be smelled from a block away. Upon walking into the quaint bakery you are met with a narrow path that is guided by metal rail around the store. This serves to distinguish the flow of traffic in the bakery. Besides a variety of seating arrangements, in the back is a bathroom that could benefit from some TLC but had very old and genuine photos of life in France once upon a time. The bread is fantastic and the building is nostalgic, it's quite small of an area but still very cozy with outside seating as well. I had four different things: Blueberry Danish - kinda cold from sitting long but okay nothing mind blowing imho Cheese danish - same as blueberry breakfast sandwich - toasted bread with sesame seeds 8/10 Almond Bread - bussin prolly my fav 9/10 The service is at the counter only. They do not seat or buss tables. Be sure to pick up after yourself.

Yelp
A true artisian experience that truly captures the finest bakeries in France! A must visit if you want to savor croussants and buns that capture the best of Paris.

Yelp
Best breakfast in the area! Large selection of food and very fresh made. The cappuccino was very good too!

Yelp
Almond croissants are my weakness, so I had been eying Bettant Bakery for a long time. I arrived near closing, so for pastries, there was only galette des rois available, which was okay because it was an item that I had also planned to get if available. I selected a small galette, and I was about to order a sandwich and a drink, but the employee just seemed so annoyed and put off that I didn't feel comfortable staying to eat despite there being customers in the establishment. I left and ate the galette later on. It was tasty (but pricy at $9.63!); I probably wouldn't get it again. I will return to see if the almond croissant is better than the French patisserie closer to where I live. YMMV.

Yelp
One of our favorite places in South Beach. Delicious pastries, incredibly good sandwiches, great coffee, and wonderful service. A must try for breakfast!
google avatar

Yelp
I have lived in South Beach for about 18 years and I can't believe I had never been to this hidden gem. You must try the almond croissants. They are just out of this world! Eveything is fresh and delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
LOTS of flaky, SUGARY (LITERALLY an entire bag or it tastes so) GOODNESS going on! Get there early, as your favorites may be sold out. We LOVE the Dulce de Leche Croissant muffin, which is a flaky, buttered, layered choux of heaven's delight filled with thick, creamy, nutty dulce de Leche lusciousness! You ONLY need one BUT you'll want MORE! The Key Lime Pies can only be eaten in miniscule bite-sized doses. They're tangy, citrusy and VERY sweet, encrusted in shortbread with a cloud-sized pillow meringued atop. LOTS of water between bites! They'll have something to satisfy every tastebud with excellent service to match!
google avatar

Yelp
This is truly a hidden gem!! Their coffee was superb and the almond croissant was divine. The space is much too small for the volume it gets in, atleast the time I was there, but besides that this place was amazing. My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich which was large, and delicious. Definitely worth a try if you're in Miami! Pastries are divine!!!
google avatar

Michele C.

Yelp
Still give this bakery 5 stars! They deserve 10! Whenever we are in town this is our 'must' go to bakery. They have the best BIG almond croissants and tastiest empanadas. Staff is friendly and nice. We love to pop in here and recommend you do too!

Miles P.

Yelp
The best bakery in Miami Beach hands down. Everything is FRESH and tastes incredible! All the French pastries are delicious and the quiches and sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this place - there's a reason why the reviews are excellent and they're always busy! Busy but fast!

Yelp
Fantastic French bakery & café. A great variety of award winning croissants, baguettes etc. they also make sandwiches and empanadas. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great place for casual breakfast or lunch in South Beach.
google avatar

Gene S.

Yelp
Just happened to walk by and we thought; This looks like a European bakery with all the choices and pastries laid out. And we weren't disappointed. Good flavors, not so over whelming like American bakeries. Nice staff too.
google avatar

Doc V.

Yelp
Not impressed - service a bit stuffy; we asked for ham and cheese croissant but they "ran out". We then ordered a regular butter and Nutella) were both chewy and cold not flaky or warm. The butter croissant was very small in comparison to standard ones but the Nutella croissant was much larger than average. The iced mocha was mediocre. We enjoyed the beef empanada though which was fresh, crispy and flavorful. Ambiance casual and tables not cleaned - much more like self served style.

Yelp
People who have never been to Paris may not notice, but this place has won baguette and pastry competitions. It's the first time I've seen such a bakery in the US. They have a great selection of food and bakery items - all good stuff. The display cases give you all the ambiance you need.

Yelp
InGiving off major old school South Beach vibes from a modest storefront on one of those few remaining commercial streets that is yet to become bougie. Apparently it *is* old school since the window says they've been baking since 1935! Inside is a limited selection of breakfast pastries, cakes and savory lunch items. I tried the sweet stuff and it was delicious! Key Lime Pie: Lots of creamy sensations. The top layer of meringue was sticky and sweet. Underneath was a custard-like texture with strong citrus tones. Resting in a firm buttery tart shell. Together the three flavors and textures worked wonderfully together to make an awesome dessert. Dulce de Leche Croissant: How can you make a croissant even better? Add dulce de leche! Same flakey exterior and layers pulled apart interior. But the dough surrounding a treasure trove of sweet caramel. My personal technique was to break off a piece of the croissant from the outside and dip it into the dulce de leche, to ensure every bite is amazing. So much dulce de leche that I still had a big clump after dipping & eating everything around it. Apple Caramel Pie: Not like a typical apple pie. Reminded me of those usually berry-centric desserts encased in a filling somewhere between cheesecake and firm custard. Either way, it made the pie experience even richer. Also, I appreciated how every apple slice was soft and brown and nicely spiced.

Yelp
What a pleasure it is going into this bakery. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We have been here many times and always enjoy grabbing our favorites or something new. When getting into town, we always stop by and grab a loft. The variety of loaves are amazing. If you don't see what you want, ask the staff, they may have it in the kitchen. The location closes at 3pm, so make your plans. Make sure you stop by and give them a try for their bakery items, pastries and sandwiches. Enjoy!

Yelp
Best local Cuban Pastries!! Delicious, fresh breakfast sandwiches. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
google avatar

Allister S.

Yelp
People were friendly but I do not believe everything was made fresh each day. Had really great experience the 1st time. Went later in the week and the baked good were not fresh. Made me not come back for a 3rd visit.

Bob B.

Yelp
It's hard to give good reviews. As a consumer I want all businesses to get 5 stars. I think everyone would agree that when we go to a business it's because we want to like it and want it to meet our expectations. No one wants a mediocre experience. I hope this place doesn't get too popular and become like the other businesses in the area. With that intro I want to share my experience short and sweet. Food Excellent. Tried multiple bakeries in south beach. This little gem is great. Food is fresh, coffee is excellent, prices are reasonable. The baguettes are fantastic. The 2 ladies working at the counter were charming. I hope they read this review and keep up their friendly service.

Yelp
Delicious authentic and homemade French pastries. The flavors are fantastic and unique. Delicious fresh warm tasty treats. Beautiful friendly people work here. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Unbelievable! There's nothing else to say. If you like pastries, sweet and savory, you'll love everything this place has to offer.

Megan G.

Yelp
Not sure how they don't have more reviews! I had the ham and cheese croissant, raisin roll and strawberry croissant. Best bakery I've been to around here!! 10/10 will be back tomorrow. The staff were very sweet and helpful as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I was able to try a few things from this bakery: key lime pie, hazelnut cruffin, and apple pie. All very good. Tasted fresh. Cute little spot. Wish we had time to try their other sandwich/savory options.

C G.

Yelp
Best bakery in South Beach. Almond Croissant flakey and has wonderful filling. My husband tries almond croissants wherever he goes and rates this the best he's ever had. And he's 71 years old. Great coffee Beef empanadas good flavor. We split an egg ham and cheese on croissant for breakfast.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
For a guy some would call loquacious this place makes me silent. Because my mouth is full of sweet gluten magic. This place makes me rethink too many things in my life.... I mean if a nondescript bakery can make food like this, it's possible that not all strippers are crazy... I mean who says you can't mix beer and wine? I think that this weekend I am going to put these obvious fallacies to the test..
google avatar

Olivia D.

Yelp
My mouth waters every time I walk in here. The service is so friendly and there is always a line out the door. The croissants are delicious and the coffee is strong and tasty. Every time I'm in south beach I make a point to stop by on my morning walk!
google avatar

Yelp
Very very good. Lot of choices and fast services. Limited seating both indoors and out. Be sure to to try the apple custard tart.

Gabriel P.

Yelp
The bakery was amazing. I ordered a cortadito which was perfect and an almond croissant. I am a bit of a snob with sweets and desserts and I have to say that this almond croissant was the best I have ever had -- perfectly sweet, crispy and chewy in parts. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Everything and I mean everything, was delicious! We spoke with the owner and he is the fourth generation of family bakers from France. His staff is very helpful and very nice. Small seating area but very comfortable and there is sidewalk dining as well.

Jada L.

Yelp
I don't like how she prepared my order with bare hands... that's disgusting, she just took my order. Did not eat because I don't like germs.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Honestly, we found this little bakery because we needed to use the restroom (pre-COVID), which the staff kindly let us use. However, we left even happier with two key lime pies. Very cute, delicately made, beautiful, and delicious. It was very fresh as well! They had plenty of other baked goods to choose from in their display case. The shop is small, clean, and smelled great. Not sure if I would specifically return to this place if in Miami again, but yes if I am in South Beach.
google avatar

Denise V.

Yelp
Great bakery and customer service (I beat the rush). Was impressed by their pastries and breakfast sandwich selection. Best croissant I have had in awhile. The iced Americano was perfect. The counter person was very pleasant and efficient. She was very welcoming.

Jo Ann S.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. The ham and cheese quiche was the BEST!! I am sad to say we devoured everything before we took a pic
google avatar

Gina Y.

Yelp
The pastry here is amazing. It's fresh and delicious. I had the almond croissant one day and the cinnamon roll on another day. Their coffee is also very good. I will definitely go again on my next trip to Miami.
google avatar

Cathy F.

Yelp
Loved the coffee and croissants here. We tried the almond and apple. Both were delicious. Service was friendly too.

Yelp
Discovered this little gem of a bakery on South Beach while I was in the area. Bettant is a 4th generation French Bakery. It recently took over this location which used to be a Latin bakery but it is still a mom and pop bakery and you can feel the love the in the quality of food and the ambiance. Loved this bakery the moment I walked in, the ladies behind the counter were friendly and attentive to every customer that walked in. Bettant has mostly French food/pastries. They make their goods in house and bake their pastries and breads daily, everything is fresh. They have different types of bread, desserts, sandwiches, coffees, juice and even the traditional King Cake for the month of January. I tried the macaroons, ham and cheese croissants, cookies, and a sandwich that was really tasty. Also they use Great Circle Coffee which is a local coffee company in Miami. Glad I discovered them and will be back when I'm in the area. Parking is on the street (metered) but if you go for breakfast or lunch that area is not packed yet and you can get lucky with parking.
google avatar

Giselle E.

Yelp
What a nice bakery on Washington baking fresh pastries and bread. Everything was delicious! The smell of fresh bread is incredible and you can see the bakers in the back making fresh goods, highly recommend!

Yvette C.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great food, my aunt lives nearby so I've become a bit of a regular whenever I visit her, highly recommended their raspberry cheese croissant

Yelp
So happy we found Bettant Bakery with my brother ! I live on the beach, bro visiting from France and one day I sent him for croissants : they were perfect, big and so yummy Next thing I know we ordered a Galette des Rois, French specialty that is traditionally served in January. It's simply one of the best I've had in the US ! We asked who was in charge and how come we had never heard of it ! Then we met the owners, Meriem and Mathieu who took over few years ago that bakery which is a part of the history of Miami Beach ! This couple is so sweet and hard working they deserve to be seen and I am so glad we rediscovered this bakery. Definitely recommend to all my French Fellows and anyone in love with our traditional French bakeries

Shannon M.

Yelp
My husband and I come here every time we are in Miami and it never disappoints. Everything I have eaten here is delicious!
