Better Buzz Coffee La Jolla

This was my first time to this coffee shop. My second time to La Jolla. This was a very good find. I didn’t try any of the pastries or food although they did look very yummy. However, I did have the very best cold brew that I’ve ever had. It was a cinnamon cold brew that I know wasn’t a skinny version and may have had quite a bit of sugar, but it was worth every sip if I ever get back to La Jolla this is a must stop.

Out of the many coffee shops in La Jolla, this is one of the best. Its unique branding and design set it apart from others. The staff are courteous, and the prompt service is exceptional. Highly recommended if you’re in the area—definitely worth getting to know better.

I got the Iced Butterscotch Latte at Better Buzz. I loved this location in La Jolla! It’s very spacious, open, and has plenty of seats inside/outside. Although could get busy, the service is still great. I recommend getting coffee here and walking down to the beach to enjoy some great views!

It was our first time visiting this location and we had great service. She had a smoothie and latte and they were both delicious! The croissant was light and buttery one of the best that we’ve ever had! Highly recommend!

Right in the middle of La Jolla. A block from our hotel. Great, strong coffee. It's all you need to start your day and have enough energy to walk around La Jolla. Service could use a little more friendliness, though. I had regular mocha latte and a matcha latte. Yup, I needed the extra pep that morning.

Had a patient cancel on me, so I took the chance to finally check out the cute coffee shop across the street from our office. I know they have multiple locations, but this was my first time trying it out. I only ordered a latte since I had already eaten breakfast. It was pretty good (it wasn’t super foamy) but still solid. The shop itself is very cute and trendy, with fun merch featuring their logo and slogan, which adds a nice touch. The staff was friendly, and even though things were moving a bit slow, they got my drink out without much of a wait and kept the energy buzzing. The atmosphere and welcoming service made it a great overall experience. I’ll definitely be back—especially on those mornings when I need a little extra pick-me-up before work!

We always stop here when visiting LA Jolla. The sea lions are just a 5 minute walk away. Drinks are good, breakfast sandwich was hot & tasty. Their iced horchata is GREAT

I was in the earlier today and I just have to say the service here is great! The batista who made my latte, I think Morgan was her name, did a great job and was incredibly nice! Would definitely recommend coming here!

This place is always packed and that is a good y that what they offer is great. We walked up while visiting downtown La Jolla. Our wait to order was about 10mins. We ordered 3 coffee drinks and 3 warmed up pastries. There was a table outside becoming available, which was nice, so we grabbed it as soon as the previous party left. After about 10 more minutes, our order was ready. We enjoyed our items and sat for about 15mins. The outdoor time was cold and windy but it was such a great time here with our drinks and pastries and enjoying our family time. We will surely visit again.

If you're in La Jolla and need a coffee that hits just right, Better Buzz Coffee is where you want to be. I stopped in for an iced vanilla latte (half sweet), and it was everything I hoped for-smooth, flavorful, and just the right amount of subtle sweetness without being overpowering. Every sip was delicious. Beyond the coffee, the open-air concept made the experience even better. There's something about sipping an iced latte with the ocean breeze rolling in that makes life feel a little sweeter. The ambience is relaxed yet lively, perfect for catching up with a friend or simply enjoying the moment.

Oh! We were pleasantly surprised to find a good coffee shop right around the corner from our hotel in La Jolla - we a stood in the short line and then ordered some pastries and cappuccino and a doppio macchiato - the pastries were pretty good - a croissant and a morning bun - the cappuccino was good and strong and much better than the hotel coffee in the lobby or the maker in the room of course - the doppio macchiato was nice and short but tasted overdrawn which was a bummer - it's fine I just threw it down the back of my throat like a shot lol - I probably could have had it remade but suddenly they were super busy and crowded with like 25 people in line - it's fine- like I said, threw it back and then focused on my croissant - definitely come here and don't drink the lobby coffee lol

Good place for coffee in La Jolla! I got the so called "best drink ever" which was pretty solid. I prob wouldn't say it was the best coffee I've ever had, but it was a good afternoon pick me up and it was nice and sweet, since I usually like my coffee to be on the sweeter side.

Pretty pricey for the size of the matcha, but it was delicious ! I got the orange matcha and it was about $7 for this very small cup. I thought it was good, but the price to size ratio just seems too extreme for me to come back regularly. There are other matcha spots with better value! The cafe itself was very cute though.

The coffee here was amazing and the food was just okay. They sent us the wrong banana bread and the turkey pesto was bland. the breakfast sandwich was good but even the avocado toast was a bit disappointing (avocado puree instead of chunky). We also ordered several coffees; the best was the caramel coffee and snickerdoodle coffee. Maybe we can try other options off the menu or come in person (instead of DoorDash).

Bright gold letters announcing we had arrived. There were some outdoor tables with pink chairs if your 4 legged family member came along for the ride then waited while we had coffee and breakfast. We got a lavender latte and a cafe latte breve plus a turkey pesto sandwich and a side order of bacon for grandpup and me. Thanks Doc. So many cute pedigreed fur bebes walking or stopping by so early in the morning. Wow! This place makes SB look ghetto. Then again, this is La Jolla- upscale neighborhood with everything looking picture card perfect.

Food: The coffee at Better Buzz tastes sweet and and strong. If you're into something flavorful, you'll definitely find something that works for you. A great spot if you're in the mood for something yummy and satisfying to stop by Service: The staff are friendly and efficient. Ambiance: The space is clean and very aesthetic. Since it's in an open space in La Jolla, it's a nice stop if you're out strolling. The vibe is casual and inviting, making it a great place to hang out or grab your coffee to go.

The interior is really cute. Nice and open with seating outside and some inside. The service was also great. The drinks were pretty good but on the sugary side- we couldn't finish the drinks. The Crispy Chili Wrap was delicious but a little small for $10. The Better Breakfast sandwhich was really tasty but needed a bit more filling in my opinion especially for how much bread there was. Overall, pretty delicious!

I don't know WHO decided to name my beverage the Best Drink Ever. I don't know WHAT they use to make the Best Drink Ever. I don't know HOW they came to the conclusion that it is the Best Drink Ever. Don't know WHEN I will be able to visit another Better Buzz to get my caffeine fix fulfilled with the Best Drink Ever. But I DO know WHY they named it the Best Drink Ever! Because it is! We ordered it Hot and Iced and both were the Best! But really mine was the Best. And it was Iced. Haha

the best drink ever. that is what the coffee I got is called and it really was super good!! Not too sweet, not too bitter. Tastes justtt right!! all outdoor seating, some tables, and wifi! I will be thinking about this drink from time to time.

My husband and I stopped at Better Buzz to grab coffee. I also had a cheese danish. The cheese danish was ok. The coffee was really good. My husband had a Brewed Coffee and I had a Caramel Buzz. Service was pretty decent despite being busy. There was outdoor seating available.

Great quick stop for some coffee near the beach. They were quick and informative. I love sweet things and have my limit. I asked the cashier about their hazelnut divinity and got the great suggestion of 75% sweet and it was perfect!

It's okay. I love the ambiance and vibe of this place but the matcha isn't ceremonial grade but it's still good. I'd come back to try the coffee next time.

After a sunny afternoon at La Jolla Cove, I was desperate for a smoothie or latte. Happy that Better Buzz has both! I got the pink dragon (pitaya) smoothie & although it wasn't as sweet as I would've liked, it was still refreshing. Tasted earthy/healthy in a good way. My bf got the coconut buzz (blended iced coffee) & it was sooooo good I couldn't stop sneaking sips from it. If I could I'd try everything on the menu, they all sound yummy.

As a Non-San Diego native I had never heard of better buzz, but to my surprise this is such a good coffee chain! The coffee is absolutely delicious! We went as a big group so we tried tons of their coffee options and every single one was great! It does not taste watered down and the mixed coffees were the perfect balance of coffee forward and sweet! Highly recommend the snickerdoodle latte, it was fantastic! We also tried a few breakfast options including the sandwich and pastries, I'm telling you we had no complaints at all! Service wise, we came in on a busy Friday and even then service was great! My only complaint would be one of our coffees randomly took a while, but overall super impressed! The staff was so sweet and friendly! Ambiance wise it's very true to a coffee shop vibe, tons of tables and people chatting! They have outdoor seating as well for those who enjoy coffee and a breeze! Totally wish this existed on the east coast!

Food was good. Service was TERRIBLE!!!! The Caprese sandwich, bacon ciabatta, spicy ranch chicken wrap and turnkey pesto were fresh, tasty and delicious. Service was DEFINITELY lacking as every single employee did not appear to be happy to be working, no smiles, no acknowledgment snd no eye contact when they WERE forced to have to make contact with a customer. The place was PACKED as the very popular pancake house next door was extremely crowded so this was the only alternative within walking distance. Also, be prepared for the cashier to shove the debit card reader in your face when it is time to include a tip as she did so to me and every single customer I observed while I waited and waited and waited some more for my food. The girl making coffee was TERRIBLE as she was VERY rude and short with EVERY single customer. My order came out one item at a time which forced us to start eating at different times And finally, the only guy working behind the counter was bad. He was clearly overworked, short and had no customer service skills. He appeared to become agitated when I asked for a status on my smoothie. It had been fifteen minutes and I noticed that customers who placed their beverage orders after my order, were being called to pick their orders up from the counter. I mentioned this fact to this male employee and his exact words to me were, "we are busy. It will be ready when it is ready". I waited a few more minutes, he finally grabbed my smoothie from a small window leading to the kitchen, slid it across the counter without saying a word and turned to start doing something else within arms reach. I stated, "thank you" in a loud but appreciative manner and this dude did not bother to acknowledge me even after I had just spent over $80.00 on four sandwiches, one smoothie and two small sodas. I visit La Jolla often as I truly love this area but as for my family and I, this was the last time we visit this specific restaurant. Never again!

Ordered: Best Drink Ever (~$6): classic Americano with signature creamy vanilla Aya's take: I've been wanting to try Better Buzz for a while and finally stumbled on one of their locations. It's super cute and open-air concept which makes perfect sense for sunny San Diego. The Best Drink Ever was honestly solid. Is it the best ever? Probably not but pretty good nonetheless. The Americano is delicious and the vanilla is not overly sweet. Overall, it was silky, sweet, and smooth. Great try!

This is a small half-open cafe found in the La Jolla Cove area. It has a nice, laidback vibe. Service was quick. After I ordered my drink, I got myself water and went to the bathroom. By the time I came out, my drink was already done. I ordered an iced matcha tea latte. It was sweet, creamy, and tasted strongly of matcha leaves. In terms of caffeine level, I don't think it was that strong (relative to other matcha lattes I've had), but overall my brother and I really enjoyed the drink. I would come back. My cousin and her partner ordered a blended iced mocha coffee. They said that it was good but that it tasted more like chocolate cake than coffee. In fact, they started referring to their drink as chocolate milk instead of coffee.

The entire atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. The location is perfect in the morning but not sure how parking is in the middle/late day. I got the horchata iced latte which was SOOO GOOD!!! My boyfriend got a regular coffee and he said it was okay. We got two muffins to split and they tasted good but I would have liked more blackberries in the blackberry banana nut muffin. The service was great and the woman working there was super sweet.

Better Buzz Coffee has amazing pastries and a delicious breakfast! It's located at 909 Prospect St and opens at 6:00 AM. You should definitely check it out!

When in SD better buzz coffee is always a must. Iced Vanilla latte is my go to and it's always perfect I ask for 1/2 the sweetness. Service was nice and lattes came out quick. They are trying a new self service kiosk which was okay but will probably take a lot of time if they are busy waiting for the person ahead to go through the prompts. Better buzz always has the cutest decor and merch

Tried their vanilla bean latte. This is the first time I saw an offering of vanilla bean instead of syrup so had to try it :) The flavor wasn't really pronounced as syrup does but that also meant that it wasn't too sweet. So great if you like coffee and natural flavors like me but do not recommend it if you are looking for a sweet drink.

Delicious coffee, great and quick service, with even better views! I got the "Best Drink Ever" served hot - and it was, indeed, the best drink ever. Strong (two shots of espresso) coffee with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. I like my coffee on the sweeter side, but the coffee they brew here doesn't taste bitter, so it didn't need too much else.

Very cute open-air coffee shop, but there are better options in the area. Pros: location is nice and the decor is super cute. There are allergy friendly menu options. Cons: None of our items came out at the same time and the service was very mediocre. ---------------- Staff: lacking in customer service, very unenthusiastic, not very helpful with suggestions on menu items Food: they have gluten free options (yay), but overall the food was pricey and lacking in flavor. We ordered two food items on the same order, but they came out five minutes apart. Drinks: the smoothie was delicious, best thing we ordered by far. Coffee was just ok, nothing spectacular. Both drinks came out at different times as well. There were no sugar free energy drink options available.

Y'all better come here because this Coffee is BUZZIN! Before visiting La Jolla Cove my fiancé and I were drawn to this place because of how cute and modern the aesthetic was. When we arrived at about 10am there was only a handful of people in front of us, but by the time we left the line was all the way back to the street! Clearly this is a popular joint so I'm glad we came early. My fiancé and I shared a large cinnamon cream cold brew and a horchatta iced latte. The horchatta latte flavor was alright, but it just seemed more watery. The cinnamon cream cold brew on the other hand was fantastic with the perfect balance of bitterness from the cold brew and sweetness from the cream resulting in a smooth velvety texture. My only complaint is that the line takes a loooong time. Even with only 3 groups ahead of me, it took about 15 minutes just to get to the front of the line to order and then it took another 10-15 minutes before I had the coffee in hand. I remember seeing 2 workers behind the counter, so unless there's maybe 3, be ready to wait.

My family came here Monday morning. Best drink ever - my husband ordered it because he likes a simple drink plus if you call it the best drink ever, it does intrigue you. Well it was a disappointment. There was nothing special. Coffee wasn't that strong and just okay. Maybe it's hard when you call a drink that. Coconut latte - this was good. coconut wasn't overwhelming and just the right sweetness. conscious chocolate smoothie - my kid enjoyed this and it was good! chili crunch breakfast wrap - chili was added was good. ham and cheese croissant - good croissant Cute place. We came early and foggy so outdoor area was wet but this is a good spot when it's nice and sunny.

Better Buzz is always a breath of fresh air. I never have to worry about whether or not my drink is going to be "the right color" if you know what I mean. Better Buzz baristas are consistent with what they do and I can really appreciate that. Though not pictured, I ordered a "Better Breakfast" Sandwich with tomatoes and extra aioli. In the photos you'll see a Berry Pomegranate Buzz Drink (Canned Energy Drink) over ice as well as a Best Drink Ever (Hot). This place usually has a nice environment but I put a 4/5 stars because nearly every time I go, the tables are not clean. (At least outside) Same goes for the bathroom. I, too, have been a barista with a long list of things to do so I don't mind cleaning my own table but unfortunately I cannot clean the bathroom for myself. On a lighter note, the baristas are very kind and the location is in an ideal area. Also, please make note of the parking situation when you come. I, for one enjoy a stroll around La Jolla so I really don't mind; but, if you have plans for a certain time, definitely come early to find free street parking.

Staying in La Jolla for a few days and stopped at Better Buzz for some coffee. There was a line to order, but staff was very efficient. I ordered a Honey Latte and a chocolate croissant. The coffee was hot, served quickly and the croissant was warmed up. Nice outdoor seating area - bring your poochie. There is also 30 minute street parking on Prospect.

Decent latte but a bit pricey. Cute interior and location. Lots of seasonal flavors if you're into that.

店面很大，外面有很多座位，有的地方可以晒到太阳有的地方有阴凉，因为离海边比较近所以不会很热，在海边逛久了反而想坐下晒晒太阳，来杯ice best drink ever The store is quite large, with plenty of seating outside. Since it's close to the seaside, it doesn't get too hot. After walking along the beach for a while, you might actually want to sit down, enjoy the sunshine and a glass of the best drink ever.

A great go-to coffee spot in SoCal and on La Jolla! This location is great, with an indoor-outdoor setup and feel to enjoy the ocean air while you order. Everyone working was very friendly and quick with making the drinks. Everything I've tried here is great (food & drinks). 10/10 recommend when you're looking for a caffeine "buzz" or some light food.

This is a spot I make sure to visit when in La Jolla. From the fun ambiance, polite employees to delicious food and drinks. It's a great place to pick up snacks for a picnic or walk to the beach. I highly recommend you grab an orange chocolate chip scone!

Great open cafe, easy to walk up to, multiple menus. Overall, quite nice and very curated ambiance. We ordered The Best Drink Ever hot, a regular coffee ( I believe dark roast) and a Cappuccino, 1 shot, dry, decaf. The regular coffee was unfortunately a huge disappointment, but the other drinks were fine. The first barista was nice and she didn't have a problem with our special order cappuccino. Service was quick

First time visiting San Diego and this coffee shop. I love the open scenery and decorations. It's an open coffee shop meaning there's no front doors just open breeze and the smell of coffee. The menu is creative and with a lot of options. We got the hazelnut iced coffee and hot Mexican mocha coffee with a sandwich. Coffee is a big on the sweeter side I wish it had a stronger coffee taste. I wouldn't re order next time I'll most likely get something new. Tasted great nothing out of the ordinary. Customer service was just alright but some lady stole our sandwich off the bar and it had to be re made .-.

I decided to try the new menu item, Waffle Bites, after seeing the sign--it looked delicious. However, it took over 20 minutes and still didn't come out. Eventually, I had to ask about it, and they told me someone must have taken it by mistake. It finally arrived exactly 31 minutes after I placed my order, but the person handing it to me didn't even offer an apology. After such a long wait, this is what the Waffle Bites looked like. I hope no one else has to go through the same unpleasant experience I did.

This is a beautiful location with limited seating. Don't be discouraged by the long line because it moves fast. The cashier was super helpful and gave me good recommendations since it was my first time ordering from this place. I found out about Better Buzz from my sister. She said it's one of her favorite coffee spots. I tried the Cinnamon Cream Cold Brew. You can definitely taste the cinnamon and it definitely gave me a caffeine buzz! Would definitely order from here again.

I come here about 3 times a week or whenever i'm in office and let me tell you, all the employees here are always so nice and working so hard. I switch it up sometimes and get either a brewed coffee with sugar and cream, a hot chai 1/2 sweet or a mocha de mexico. i'm not a big pastry person but every now and then i'll get a plain croissant , those are great. It has been a little cold because it is so open but it is still very cute. lovely store, lovely workers, and lovely coffee. A go to spot if you are ever in la jolla.

The layout and design of this location is cute and very aesthetic I'll give it that. But I was notttt satisfied at all. Ordered the iced vanilla bean latte 1/2 sweet because the worker said the drink was pretty sweet- and usually I prefer less sweet lattes. It tasted awful with no vanilla bean flavor at all! It wasn't even the slightest bit sweet either. I paid $7 for basically a regular unflavored latte when I could've just ordered a regular one in the first place for a cheaper price lol. I usually go to other small coffee spots in SD but decided to come here since Better Buzz is what SD is known for. Not only was the flavor not it, but I've never seen so much remnants of espresso grinds in my drink before. Save your money and go somewhere else!

This might be my new favorite location. The open concept of the building is what San Diego is all about. It's a couple of blocks from the ocean. You can't beat it. The coffee always hits. This morning was my first time trying the peppermint white mocha (holiday special) as it was recommended by the barista. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant sandwich which wasn't bad! I wouldn't order it again. 10 out of 10 recommend. I'll definitely be back!

Ambiance: I loved the ambiance here. I came on a weekday to study and it was the perfect environment for me. They also had outlets to charge your electronic devices. This place does get crowded over the weekends though. Drinks/Bowls: My favorite is the coconut buzz. It is on the sweeter end but I loved it! I also had the island acai bowl as well and thought that was pretty good. Overall: Loved this coffee shop! Highly recommend

Always welcomed by baristas! Always clean tables and chairs! Always a clean bowl of water for dogs! Always get a good drink! Always fresh, delicious pastries! Always tip my server! Always enjoy the experience!

It's been a long time since I've been to San Diego and this cafe has always been recommended to me for the type of coffees that I drink. There was quite a line, but it moved really quickly. I just ordered an iced hazelnut latte which happened to be one of their top drinks. I was so excited I didn't get a chance to take a photo LOL! But I managed to snap a cute photo opp while on the way to the bathroom haha. Very cute location near a lot of other restaurants and shopping and the indoor/outdoor cafe style is so appealing. Perfect place to sit and chat with friends or to study if you like movement. Would come back to this location forsure.

I've always loved Better Buzz and tried the La Jolla location for the first time! Parking seems pretty bad when you drive right in front of it but if you drive down to the coast two blocks over or go into the neighborhood, I always seem to find a spot pretty quickly even on a Saturday morning. This applies to trying to go anywhere near La Jolla Shores. There's some seating but recommend getting your coffee and walking down to the water! You can see some sea lions if you walk two blocks down from the cafe. I always get the Lavender Tea Latte and it tastes the same no matter which location I go to, so I love how consistent it tastes! The banana bread with chocolate chip is soooo good, definitely satisfied my hunger in the morning. The employee who served me the chocolate chip banana bread gave me an extra bit of another slice and that was so sweet! Better Buzz employees are always energetic and kind, no matter which location I go to (in my experience). Also when I was walking from the cafe I saw two dogs on a car so that was a cherry on top.

The ambiance of this place is definitely a fun vibe. Bright lights and fun decor. The coffee was fine. I got a Cortada. It wasn't my favorite one, but was fine. It seemed to take a long time to wait and it wasn't busy. The staff was ok, but not super friendly It's a great location in La Jolla.
