I tried tea leaf salad and roti parata. They recently opened and were open to honest feedback. That's a good thing. Food was good but not wow. Roti parata was not an appetizer, quite heavy.. not as I had expected which is light n crispy.. Nice ambience n decor.. was empty at 1pm

The owners were so charismatic and accommodating! The waiter really knew what he was talking about, even what pairs well! We felt really taken care of. We had the Beef Rendang, Roti Paratha, and Shan Noodles and everything was delicious! An authentic experience with Burmese staff and Burmese beer. Felt like a family meal!

Beyond Burma was initially a pop up in the lower Tenderloin before it occupied this permanent space that was previously the Indonesian-based Borobudur restaurant. Beyond Burma honors that legacy by also serving Indonesian alongside Burmese on its menu, two rare cuisines in the city (although there's been a surge of Burmese recently). The vegan options are clearly marked. And you won't be short for options. We talked to the manager, perhaps the owner after our meal and she expressed how important it was for the restaurant to accommodate to different dietary needs. That kind of care is clearly reflected in its food.

Fantastic. We live nearby and as a regular, we have made friends with the owner and staff at both Borabadour (the Burmese restaurant that preceded Beyord Burma) and this place. These are not only lovely people but serve amazing food. We love Thai, and so we decided to try Burmese/Indonesian and this has now surpassed Thai as our favorite food. Highly recommend the Nasi Goreng fried rice with some extra shrimp paste on the side to add some more spice to the dish. Please support this local restaurant.

Two visits and each time delicious. Owner is usually around to talk about the dishes. I love the Shan Noodles and Mie Tek Tek Goreng. A cozy authentic place in the neighborhood.

The food was terrible. 2 of our dishes were just drowning in Oil, tasted horrible. Staff were very nice and friendly and tried to explain what was going wrong, they did take our complaints seriously so i give them 2 stars, not 1.....but sorry, you can't serve food like this and get away with it......
