"Native Italian Matteo Ferrantino brings the flavours of southern Europe to Hamburg. The chef previously ran the kitchen of the two-star Vila Joya restaurant in the Portuguese city of Albufeira alongside Dieter Koschina. Here at Bianc, he serves a modern, creative take on Mediterranean cuisine in the form of two set menus "Emotion" and "Garden" (vegetarian) made with top-notch ingredients. Each begins with an array of amuse-bouches and is rounded off with a series of equally delicate petits fours. And in between, for example, "Red prawn, onion, cantaloupe, pata negra" or "Azores squid, egg yolk, guanciale, Pecorino" – interesting combinations that do full justice to the menu name "Emotion"! Architect Julia Erdmann has designed a chic interior that captures the charm of an Italian piazza, plus a view into the kitchen. What a gorgeous experience here. It's taken me a while to write this review but they honestly deserve this 5 stars. We came to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and the treatment from start to finish was absolutely first class. We were made to feel so special. Our service was exceptional, Li was a dream and the visit from the head chef was such a treat. They really went out of their way to recognise that we were celebrating a special occasion and went above and beyond to make it extra wonderful, from the rose on the table when we arrived to the kind and exceptional treatment of us. We've visited many Michelin star restaurants but the difference here was that the main courses were the stand out performance (everything was amazing but this is the way it should be). I commented that I thought one of the dishes was absolutely fantastic and they brought us another! Even let us try a glass of their tasting menu orange wine because I said I loved orange wine. The head chef invited us into the kitchen at the end. Honestly can't recommend this place enough or thank the folks here for making it start to finish amazing. We honestly felt like royalty. Couldn't have made our night more perfect and so glad we chose to celebrate here

5 stars - what else?! Sometimes it is difficult with rating systems because is short or long scale better? There is no "half star" here so 5 stars it is. Those are well deserved also, because food quality - tastes, visual expressions, execution, variety - simply all is top notch!! On top of that, service here is really, really great and the host is making a genuine and committed effort in making this a great evening. The kitchen arrangement is welcoming and they encourage guests to look into the kitchen, to see and feel the creation of this lovely food. No bad things to say and the initial comment on the "half star" is only because as what 2-star Michelin restaurants go, we have tried one that is better but we have also tried 2-star Michelin restaurants that were not as good as here... so bottom line - highly recommended to go here and 5 stars well deserved - we would definitely like to come here again!!

If you like disco, go to bianc! This might look funny, but from around 21:00 the music in the kitchen was turned on and became louder and louder, at a certain moment the dining room felt quiet due to this disturbance. After we asked the lady host if the music could be turned down, it stopped for a while, but started a half hour later again. Food was of good quality, some dishes to salty, many dishes to salty for the taste of my wife. From the start we have been asked if we liked the bites/ courses, which we never experienced in Michelin star restaurants before. We chosen wine pairing for half glasses, and asked to skip one wine because we preferred another wine. The waiters kept pushing for the wine to skip 3 times, they finally skipped it. At reservation I shared the allergies of my wife and with the start of the deserts they turned up with kiwi, one of her allergies. She said she’s allergic and the waiter walked away to check, came back to excuse himself and took her dish and then the lady host came back to take my dish also. If it was Fawlty Towers, it would have been funny. We paid €611 for 2 dinners, 4 half glasses winepairing, 2 kir royal and 1 bottle of Perrier. We normally give a tip if we are completely satisfied, but we weren’t, which I think they saw from our faces, because they didn’t asked when we asked for the bill. They need to scale-up there amateurism in service, skip the loud music and upgrade there dishes, to match everything to a 2* Michelin restaurant and its matching prices.

Food was truly amazing, this was our second time and we decided to celebrate our 14 wedding anniversary there as we knew it would be great (based on our first experience) unfortunately we were not that lucky this time, although food was really amazing, beautiful, creative, great taste, service was not great 😵‍💫 it all started well but after a while they kind of ‘forgot’ we were there and left us unattended so we had to eat some of our dishes without nothing to pair (drink). At some point we were just waiting for someone to notice we were trying to get something to drink but just decided to ask for the check and leave, no one supported us to the door to get coats and stuff, which is common at restaurants in this level though. Shame cause food wise is really wonderful but I honestly dont feel like going back ever again.

Should have been a 2 star Michelin experience. From appetizer to starter we waited 1,15 Hour, food was looking good but very salty, cold or melted. Like it waited on the counter too long. Some dishes was good other not deserving of a 2 star. Wine is only reason they get a higher rating. I think they had a bad day ....

Our visit to Bianc for fine dining was nothing short of perfection. Every aspect of our experience, from the impeccable dishes to the excellent wine selection, left us thoroughly impressed. Each bite was a culinary delight, and we found it difficult to choose a favorite among the exquisite offerings. The portion sizes were just right, allowing us to savor every flavor without feeling overly full. The chef's personal touch, coming out to greet us and share his inspirations behind the meal, added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall atmosphere. We also appreciated the sentimental touch of the olive tree from the chef's parent's home. Bianc truly exceeded our expectations and is deserving of high praise.

Restaurant Bianc – A Thoughtfully Crafted Experience From the moment we booked, Restaurant Bianc showed an impressive level of care. A few days before our visit, they reached out to confirm our reservation and even checked for potential food allergies. A simple gesture, but one that set the tone for the evening. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and given an introduction to the restaurant’s architecture—a unique and personal touch that made us feel like more than just customers. The attention to detail continued with the food. The first bite, a delicate olive explosion paired with a homemade grissini, was a surprising and flavorful start to the meal. The dishes that followed were small, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Every plate was like a miniature piece of art, making it almost difficult to disturb the perfect arrangement. One small but memorable detail was the replacement of our napkins whenever we stepped away from the table—a subtle yet thoughtful act that added to the sense of refinement. The staff at Bianc were exceptional. They spoke fluent German but also had excellent English, engaging with us and answering every question with enthusiasm. Every aspect of the dining experience was carefully planned—from the shape of the plates to the precise temperature of each dish, ensuring the perfect balance of flavors alongside the thoughtfully chosen wine pairings. Restaurant Bianc is more than just a place to eat; it’s an experience where every detail is considered. If you appreciate fine dining that goes beyond just the food, this is a place worth visiting.

What a wonderful New Years Eve experience it was at bianc. The chef and his wife were incredibly welcoming and enhanced the experience. Food was creative, fresh, and delicious. Loved the plating styles and colors incorporated into the dishes. Congrats to Chef on the next phase of his life journey!
