Diners will also find Creole-style seafood dishes including Louisiana crab cakes, jumbo crawfish with spicy tarragon butter, jambalaya pasta, seafood gumbo, and poboy sandwiches with beer-battered shrimp. Google
It was 6 of us, we ordered about 30 blue point oysters and...we had to send them back. They tasted nothing like blue point we know and like, had sewer smell... Also ordered salmon, fish was just ok, rice super dry and tasteles. Servers weren't friendly and overall it wasn't enjoyable experience, we won't be back!!!

Google

Google
Big Al’s Oyster bar was quite an experience. There was a language barrier so at first we difficulty understanding our server. We had to look for our server to pay our bill because the server came back! She never checked up on us which was weird because we did need help. The food was ok, gumbo had wayyyy too many peppers & not enough meat & rice in it. The bacon wrapped shrimp is a must try & the Oysters Rockefeller was delicious. 6/10

Google
Nice place to have some seafood dishes for a reasonable price. Big AL'S boil is loaded. And they serve Louisiana oysters. They are huge and meaty. Not much flavor, but great for Rockefeller oyster. It's not a fancy dine in restaurant, but a place to get a break.

We just ate here tonight to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. From being seated to the last goodbye, every member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing - we had the Clam Chowder, Jambalaya and the Seafood Louie. All of the food was outstanding. Huge portions and so very very tasty!!! The service was impeccable - our waitress was so attentive but not intrusive, nothing was too much trouble. As we'd had such a lovely meal, I wrote a note on the back of our bill thanking our waitress ... she read it and came running back to our table to deliver a Complementary Dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a lovely gesture - made us both a little emotional. Thank you for making our 1st Anniversary so special! We will 110% be back before we leave ❤️

Google
This place has been the place for me to always go to when I go to Vegas to eat but this visit just didn't hit right. The menu has been down graded to minimal selections, stuff i used to get isn't there anymore, and just the vibe was off. The only thing that was worth a 5 star was our waitress which I knew her name. She made the experience enjoyable and made me forget about what I was expecting in food. Thank you guys but I most likely won't be back.

Google
Been to Big Al's Oyster Bar a few times before renovation and after. We always enjoy a good pan roast. This time around I ordered the pan roast with shrimp add sausage. The flavors were delicious and it had a lot of shrimp however, I wish the sausage were cut larger. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. I'd return again if I'm in the Orleans Hotel.

Google
Service was lacking and inattentive. I never did get the Moscato I ordered. Potatoes in the Crawfish boil were hard as rocks and inedible and the corn was way over cooked. Just a poor experience all the way around for the cost

Yelp
Best soups ever. My server Jamie was top notch. Not to go on and on but the personal attention to detail and photographic memory left me both whelmed with new found boost in my waining appreciation for the Vegas service community. No need to travel to New Orleans folks the real deal is here.

Yelp
Firstly, I love the renovations-nice and bright and lots of seating at the bar so that you can watch Chef Teddy in action. The Mixed Seafood Boil was great! The Oysters Rockefeller were the best I've had...seriously! Chef Teddy, you are a gem; and a shout out to the rest of the staff as well-very welcoming and attentive.

Yelp
Seated promptly, clean & spacious set up. Seafood jackpot was supposed to have clams but they ran out. Therefore, subbed with extra oysters. Boston clam chowder was thick & rich, potatoes still had that slight crunch. Complimentary bread is soft yet crusty.

Yelp
We came to the Orleans for Jersey Boys show and were looking to eat dinner before. Made reservations here, but when we arrived didn't need them, were seated right away. Three people came by right after we were seated trying to get us water or a drink. The waitress was very good explaining the menu and not rushing us to make a decision. I ordered three oysters on the half shell while we tried to make a menu decision. They were freshly shucked and very tasty. We finally decided on a cold plate. Which had king crab legs, clams on the half shell, cooked shrimp, three oysters on the half shell, and half a small lobster tail. All was very good. The crab was cut so you didn't have to fight the shell too much to get the good meat. The one thing which would have made it a little better was warm garlic butter. The cocktail sauce with fresh horseradish was very good. We will return on our next trip to Vegas.

Yelp
I had lunch here again on 05/19/2024 and I must say, it was awesome. The chef, Anthony, is fantastic. I talked to him and he recommended the special of the day, Shrimp Scampi. It did not disappoint! OMG was it DEE LISH, my highest rating. Chef Anthony is creative and personable. He is a master, and knows what he's doing. Originally, I rated my first review at 3 stars, because of the type of restaurant - fast casual dining. It's not like a white glove atmosphere. But the food here is awesome and Chef Anthony makes it so. I highly recommend you come and try his delicious recipes. The staff are also friendly and attentive. I also recommend you try to the Crab Stuffed Shrimp. Best stuffed shrimp I've had and that's saying something since I'm from Texas and we get great shrimp on the gulf coast.

Yelp
Second time here, different chef this time (previous chef was friendly and made some recommendations which helped enjoy the experience) We ordered the clam chowder- really good, generous portion, thank you! Also ordered the crab cakes, bbq oyster, steamed mussels, and big Al's boil. I would definitely order the bbq oyster again, the bbq sauce was so delicious! Wanted to order clams, but it was not available so we tried the mussels, Big Al's boil was just okay, need something more to add to the flavor! Our server was really nice, and if you order soda, juice, they will keep coming back to refill 5/5 for customer service!

Yelp
Being here few times for Cioppino, Raw Oysters, and Clam Chowder. This time decided to do review on the Pan Roast because it's the signature dish...Crab style! Food: Decent flavors all around. Nothing spectacular! Service: on Friday nights, slow service and wasn't busy. Scary to think if it was busy and the wait. Ambience: good location inside casino; comfortable environment

Yelp
On vacation decided to try Big Al's Oyster Bar. I ordered seafood chowder, mussels with creole tomato cream sauce. My companion ordered a soup and salad combo and a soft drink. The combo includes caesar or garden salad and gumbo or chowder. My seafood chowder came out and it was delicious. Next were mussels but they came with a wine garlic base with some tomato in it. I ordered the tomato cream. Chef remade it without garlic. Either it's a new menu item, they don't have it or they don't know how to make it but there was no tomato cream in this at all. Dinner companion got the salad. Sadly the gumbo and drink never appeared. No one came back to check on us either. When we asked for the check, the server noticed our missing items. We declined because it was too late by then and we had to go. We asked for an adjustment since we didn't get the complete order and instead of adjusting it 50% of the menu cost, they charged over half price for just the salad. My suggestions would be: Don't stand aways away and take the order so far away we have to raise our voices so you can hear. Follow up. Be aware of what your customers order. Know what goes in the dish. Don't charge higher prices and serve tzatziki obviously store bought and labeled "pickle dip" in tiny plastic cups. Invest in some metal ones or a small ramekin. This isn't a fast food burger joint. It might also look better if you bring out your seafood after you open the plastic bag that it comes in. I know this is how it comes. But I also don't want to think I am being served the seafood I could buy in the 10lb bag on $5 Friday at Von's. Leave the bag in the kitchen out of view so I can at least have the illusion my food is worth the price I am paying. I might return again for the chowder and to give a chance for improvement. Also some of the staff seem so unhappy to be there. Just my opinion. A manager needs to take notice so you can do better business here. It used to be so great.

Yelp
Food was ok, serving staff, not too enthusiastic to entertain their customers, ambiance was not that bad. We should focus on ordering their oysters next time.

Yelp
Had the best chowder ever our server Mercedes went above and beyond she was great Laura the manager came an visited us it was my first time in Vegas wonderful experience Micki Johnson

Yelp
Laura best manager ever!! Absolute delight!! Chefs, Juan and Victor amazing food!! Best clam chowder, I got the Boston recipe, my GF got the seafood clam chowder (manhattan and Boston together) loved it!! Again would highly recommended coming here, Laura is fantastic!!

Yelp
Being from New England my bar is set high for good chowda! Based on the chowda alone. Thick Creamy Large bowl Good amount of clams Tasty
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Great food. We were hesitant being from Florida and seeing Oysters on the menu in the desert. They know New England Clam Chowder. The seafood salad was also very good. Jambalaya entree was massive. The andouille sausage bites were a disappointment. Biggest draw back was one server for the whole restaurant. Would go back

Yelp
1 1/2 minute read: When staying at The Orleans's, you gotta stop by an check out BIG AL'S OYSTER BAR. The menu is well chosen. Your order is prepared meticulously. If you go, ask for MERCEDES. She knows what's cooking. This time around, my wife had clam chowder and a Seafood Chef's salad. I had Jambalaya. It was very Good. I'll update as needed.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
Great menu. Wasn't sure what to try so the waitress brought out 3 sample of the chowder. Yes! Love that for me. lol. I got the manhattan claim chowder and the seafood Louie salad. The salad was good but needed a little more dressing. The wasabi in the dressing was delish. My husband had the bbq oysters which he said really needed garlic and more Parmesan to go with the butter.

Robyne E.

Yelp
Was a perfect place to eat oysters. Enjoyed the view watching everyone play. Price was decent

Yelp
Ate dinner here at the spur of the moment and we were quite happy with the decision. Meal started with complimentary bread. Fresh baked, and warm but the tiniest bit underbaked because it was the tiniest bit gummy. But still good enough that I ate two pieces! Hubby and I both had the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp and were very happy with our selection. Applewood bacon wrapped and crab stuffed and the three baked jumbo shrimp were cooked just right, not dried out. The thick sliced bacon was a tiny bit hard since the shrimp were baked, but not enough to matter. The crab stuffing was good. Great combination with the Lemon chive beurre blanc sauce. Salad came with creamy Italian dressing. Would have preferred a choice of dressing. Pilaf was cooked well, but had peas and carrots. Made a gourmet pilaf more like fried rice, but still very tasty. This was a great meal. Would eat this again.

Yelp
Food & Service was so Good! Clam Chowder was creamy, fresh and delicious! And the seafood mixed Boil with the spicy Cajun broth was so good! Warm Bread and flat bread Crackers with butter was a pleasant surprise!! Soo good!!
google avatar

Angela J.

Yelp
The service was fast and fabulous. When seated you're served a basket of warm bread and a second basket is no charge. There's a lot of casino noise so it's far from relaxing and it's difficult to visit. The Seafood Chowder ($9.50/bowl) was filled with wonderful flavor and chunks of clams, shrimp and scallops. The salad was fresh with crisp greens, shaved carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, hen/yellow/red peppers, black olives with dressing on the side. If you are seated more towards the interior of the restaurant I doubt the noise wold be an issue.

Angelique L.

Yelp
Excellent food. Helen assistant becerage manager went above and beyond. Exceptionally friendly. All staff very nice

Dave S.

Yelp
Foods just great, portions are big and the staff is super nice. Been there 3 times and plan on going back.

Yelp
Food is so horrible. I'm not sure how this spot gets 3.5 stars. I rather go to Big Sur Oysters Bar at South Point. I tried Shrimps with Scallops Pasta Rosa. It's under $30. The scallops are tiny small ones. The chef suggests this is the best entree dish. So I give it a try. Will I go back? I'm very disappointed. I asked for ice water and only get 1. My friend didn't get any ice water. It's not that expensive to give ice water (tap water or filtered tap water). Under $30 Shrimps & Scallops Pasta Rosa (tiny small ones) with pasta! HORRIBLE! definitely not worth consuming this calories vs my steps I put in. Not worth under $30.

Addie C.

Yelp
Food was delicious! The crab, clam chowder, pasta, everything was excellent. Our favorite waitress Tiebe and server Jonathan was above and beyond excellent in customer service!! We return to the restaurant more than once a week!

Yelp
How did I not know about this place??? Been staying at the Orleans a few times now and finally found a gem of a place!!! Food and service was on par!! Seafood tasted fresh and all reasonable priced!! Will be back!!!

Yelp
After a long day of being stuck at the airport, this was our first stop after dropping off our bags. When I say this is some of the best seafood we've ever had, I mean it wholeheartedly. The staff were kind and had some great recommendations. The sourdough bread they served was warm and tasty. The seafood chowder is my new favorite at The Orleans. I also tried the Louisiana Gumbo and it was the perfect level of spicy and yummy. Highly recommend both! The Blue Water cocktail was also really yummy. The only thing I am bummed about is, they offered to let me keep the glass cup, but I forgot it. This restaurant is a must try!
google avatar

Yelp
Date night with the wife. This is our second visit and the food and servicekeeps getting better each time. This time we had the Linguine and clams with Jambalaya. For appetizers we had the Raw oysters and steamed muscles. All was delicious! We are leaving extremely stuff with a smile on our face.

Yelp
Finally tried out this original spot at the Orleans on my last trip here with my favorite senior citizens. The food was really good so I came back last night for an early supper. We ordered the clam chowder, shrimp pasta and the jambalaya last time so I wanted to try something new. I ended up with the cerviche made with shrimp and scallops for an appetizer and Big Al's original pan roast with shrimp and crab. I cleaned it all up in no time.....both dishes were super delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The basket of complimentary bread and butter was also on point. This is definitely a nice little hidden gem inside the Orleans casino. This is my new go to spot for seafood pan roasts, soups and pastas!

Yelp
A cute little spot. Had zero expectations and ended up being pleasantly surprised. We were seated right away. I had an idea of what to order, hut completely changed my mind at the last minute. My brother decided to order the same thing, but added a chowder as well. What a great meal! The only thing I couldn't manage to finish was the shrimp at the bottom of my bowl cos it sat there for so long that they were a bit overcooked difficult to chew. The service was great.

Jenny V.

Yelp
This was extremely disappointing. The lobster roll tasted like tuna sandwich with chunks of lobster in it. They also added ruffles to dish. I had different people at my table try this and we all agreed it was very disappointing. The big reopening was really disappointing. They're extremely understaffed. They're charging for 1.50 for the basket of bread now. Overall, with this new menu I wouldn't recommend it. We all were so excited to come back to this place. Last time we came to this hotel we stopped by at least once a day during our 4 day stay.

tanae M.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. The oysters are amazing. Customer service is A+++++. Thank you Big Als Oyster Bar you guys never disappoint
google avatar

Chari K.

Yelp
I have to be totally honest. My husband and I came about two years ago for our son's basketball tournament and found this seafood spot and it was amazing! Yeah but not today. There was a remodel and new hires etc and it's NOT the same. Not only were the two crab legs that came with the boil looked like they were on crack...I mean where's the meat! We asked about the size of the snow crab and the response was that's the only size we offer ok well maybe add 4 to the bowl so a person can actually taste it. Right? Oh and we got over that then she brings the bill we gave her our card and she proceeds to ask for my husband's ID huh? We are visiting from the Bay Area that happens to be a melting pot of culture.....need I say more?
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
The service here was incredibly lovely... the ladies work hard and do their best, but you can tell this place can get JAM packed. The warm bread makes up for any kind of wait. The seafood is tasty - but I'd advise against the linguine with clam sauce if you don't want to head directly into nap mode. (It's not a white wine broth, but more like a winey alfredo.... (It's VERY good, just VERY heavy). I ordered the ceviche and was disappointed.... Was a bit overpowering with celery and missing a little "zing" - so I'd say you're fine to skip it if you're looking for a wow-seafood experience. Hubs ordered the oysters and absolutely loved them in the garlic broth. The folks here are very understanding if you have non-seafood people with you, they're ok with you running to grab a burger and will let you eat it with your sea foodies......... I will say, the Orleans has done a nice job with a refresh. The outside might leave you to believe it's a dodgy/dive casino, but it's probably one of the cleanest I've been in for quite some time.
google avatar

Miranda Y.

Yelp
The entrees are huge. Ordered 4 items including a dozen of oysters on a half shell. I ordered the Linguine and Clams. It is really rich and creamy. The services were okay. No smiles from some servers. This place has stool seating and table seating to choose from.
google avatar

Super G.

Yelp
The gumbo was amazing! The best I've had so far. The service was great! We got helped right away. You're inside a casino so a little loud but not to bad once you're sitting inside. I'll be back

Tracy R.

Yelp
Laura and Helen was soo welcoming. I dint usually eat oysters but they cooked it longer than usual and it was soo freaking good
google avatar

CeeCee B.

Yelp
Every meal we received was salty, chowder, the salmon, the lobster Mac n cheese was soupy. The scampi was super bland, pats of butter were so dang frozen you got a workout just trying to spread it on the bread. The person who served our drinks was super rude. 0/10 never again!

Fortune K.

Yelp
Always good! Oysters are huge and amazing. Service is good too. Reservations recommended especially when there are conventions at the Orleans.

Robert K.

Yelp
I would like to recommend Big Al's Bar Restaurant that is in The Orleans Casino in Las Vegas. The food is amazing and the service is excellent, Tiebe is a great server , I have been coming here for many years . I give this restaurant five
google avatar

Fhaye H.

Yelp
Went to Orleans for oysters we mainly go to Albers and Birch for happy hour but apparently they stop it since January I told the manager we're just there Feb.9 she rudely interrupted me mid conversation and said the servers just forgot to take out the menu!! Rude rude rude service!!! So we went to Big Al's wasn't busy which is good but I'm guessing they're short stuff cause we never got drink refills till we ask. Nobody in the restaurant knows the difference of the oysters they serve. I know for sure I won't go back except for the BOSTON CLAM CHOWDER this chowder is the only thing I can recommend. This is a saddest review I've ever done.
google avatar

Island G.

Yelp
Love the new look after the renovation. Read some recent reviews and have to agree with some that it's not the same as before. I ordered the pan roast and my son had the chicken alfredo which both portion was smaller and no cracker given with the pan roast. I still however like their pan roast better than Station Casino.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Josie and Yolanda make the most incredible, delicious Boston Clam chowder I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant. The Manager Laura really looked after us. GREAT job Team!
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from here. The hostess was sweet and the gentleman behind the bar took my order and prepared everything. He was professional and made everything perfect, took only 10 minutes and everything came packaged super hot and well, wrapped in Saran, and provided plenty of warm bread and butter. It wasn't busy or empty for a Wednesday night - a good amount of people. Restaurant felt clean and not noisy. I didn't get inside too far as the takeout station is right at the inside, but looks like a comfortable seafood joint with a nice long bar to dine in. I tried the Louisiana Gumbo - it was a huge portion and so freaking good. TONS of sausage, fish, maybe could've used some more shrimp only because there was so much of everything else. Got it with white rice - again, HUGE portion. I hate trying just one thing when I go to a restaurant I'll probably won't be able to go to again for a while, so had to try one of my favorite dishes, linguine with clams. Theirs was very good, lots of creaminess and chopped clam bits (not whole clams). Very good, but not mind blowing like the gumbo. Another generous portion. I have leftovers for today, I'm happy.
google avatar

Lindsay T.

Yelp
We've been here a couple times and great experience each time. The food comes out quickly and is extremely fresh. The oysters were huge and clean and shucked in front of us. The steamed clams have a delicious garlic broth that goes well with the crusty bread. The seafood chowder is really good with lots of seafood and veggies, try it with some habanero Tabasco if you like it spicy. The service is very attentive and friendly. Excellent meal, will definitely be back!

James T.

Yelp
I was very excited that Big Al's reopened since I missed it on my last visit to the Orleans. First went for lunch. Soooo disappointed that they didn't have the lunch specials anymore. That was a good value. Tried the soup (gumbo) and salad (house) combo. It was okay but I like the original gumbo better. Gave it another chance for dinner that following night. Had three oysters (couldn't afford any more than that) and jambalaya. Oysters were okay but not worth $3.75 each. Jambalaya was very good. Seems like they are understaffed although the workers are nice. Decor is nice and brighter but give me the old set up, food and prices any day.
google avatar

Kenny D.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to dinner last night and it was a little shocking and disappointed that the hostess staff didn't allow him to bring in his alcoholic drink into the restaurant with him when it was purchased at the bar next to the restaurant (reason for 2star review & unsure if we'll return due to this action by restaurant), the bus guy and our server she was great and very attentive and friendly. The shrimp scampi with linguine was awesome, the Caesar salad totally disappointed for the cost - just leaves on a plate, it should include croutons and a few large shaved parmesan cheese for $10. The way the management were dressed was too casual (reason for 2star review) in their own clothes it didn't feel like they represented the restaurant, casino, hotel, yet the staff were uniformed well.
google avatar

Traci F.

Yelp
This place is located in the Orleans Hotel & Casino. We look forward to eating here whenever we're in Vegas. While the food is good, it seems like the prices have gone up while the quantity is less than before. So this place is now our go to lunch place instead of dinner. My favorite is the seafood chowder. It's a blend of New England and Manhattan Clam chowders and is so yummy! There are lots of chunks of seafood and the soup blend is perfection. It is served with a large cracker and lots of bread. I recommend the cup or bowl instead of the bread bowl so you get more soup.
google avatar

Imee C.

Yelp
The crawfish boil was pretty good. Had enough kick to it on the spice level. Jambalaya was just okay.

sonie K.

Yelp
Our friends celebrated his birthday ( his 70ish ) at this place....was surprised to see the newly remodeled place , clean and nice ambiance. Food was great and we had our server SHARON who was very nice lady and she have a great personality , she's just right to be with customers very pleasant and happy person. Sharon keep up the good work you're doing.More power to you!!!!

Jeff A.

Yelp
Regulars here at the best oyster bar in Vegas. Come about 4 times a year from San Diego. tried other oyster bars but this is the best! Food is the freshest prepared right in front of you. Of course we sit at the bar. the chefs Juan and Danny are a show all by themselves. They love to talk to customers and remember you even if it's been a while. All the customers rave about the food. Oh, and did I say they just reopened after the remodel, beautiful, clean, simply a pleasure whether your winning or losing in the casino, you're always a winner at Big Al's Oyster Bar!!! 6 STARS

Breeann M.

Yelp
Amazing service, very kind co workers, food is always fresh ! And also very clean place. The coworkers here greet and say good bye. Very kind and caring people. But can't miss out on their amazing new Bloody Mary !!!
