Big Belly Burgers and Brew

I recently checked out a local burger joint, and it was a bit of a mixed bag. The atmosphere is a bit of a surprise—what seems like a hole-in-the-wall from the outside turns out to be pretty spacious once you're inside. It has a cozy, no-frills vibe, which I appreciated. The customer service was fantastic—friendly and attentive staff that made us feel right at home. As for the food, the flavors were good overall. I ordered two burgers: one was juicy and cooked perfectly, while the other came out a bit overcooked. Still, the taste was solid, so it didn’t ruin the experience. The tots were a standout—crispy and golden with the perfect amount of seasoning, and the ranch dipping sauce was top-notch. It was one of the best ranches I’ve had in a while. The price seemed fair for the portion sizes, and given the quality of the food and the service, it felt like a good value. While the overcooked burger was a bit of a downer, the rest of the meal made up for it, and I would definitely consider coming back. Overall, a solid spot for a casual burger outing.

Clean place, great food. GF options and I could get a vegie patty burger (taste like chili bean,peas,green beans ,corn.) It was good. And my husband could still get his Hamburger. Fries where fresh and not frozen then fried. And we had the GF mozzarella cheese sticks and marinara Amazing 👏. It was a hit for lunch. $40 with tip. Not bad. Lots of TVs for sports fans. I think I counted 6.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Overall, we enjoyed eating out at this restaurant. The employees were welcoming and made sure we were satisfied with our food choices. Veggie burgers and gluten free options are available. We loved the coleslaw……delicious!!

It was a nice enough place....but the food was very good burgers and fries salads and desserts sodas tea lemonade and the rum and Cokes were great. Not at all a bad place to go for as small as it is. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and drinks to say the least. I had the con salad I think is what they called but damn it was so good the bacon ham blue cheese crumbles and more and the raspberry vinegarett was so good. Had it on the side didn't think it would go well with blue cheese ,but was so delish we will be returning and would recommend this place absolutely.

My mom and I have gone twice and it was great both times. I had the Reuben the first visit, one of the best I've ever had. Last night our hamburgers were cooked to perfection. Not over-cooked, juicy, and my mom says one of the best hamburgers she’s ever had. We’ll definitely be back. And the French fries are outstanding.

First review ever made. The people working there were sweet and I could tell it’s a local family business. I was very disappointed in the food. It was inedible. We ordered 10 wings and two burgers to go. The wings were burnt to a crisp and dry. The sauces that came on the side were gross. The mango habanero was watery and the Asian sauce was bad too. Both burgers were so over cooked we couldn’t eat those either. Coleslaw was bitter and lacked flavor. Tots, ranch, and bleu cheese were fine. Not impressed with the food and very disappointed in spending $50 on a dinner we were unable to enjoy.

So if you come to sunriver don't be fooled by the looks of this place on the outside go on in and order some food. The food is really good the service is excellent and they can make it to go which is nice. The burger was hudge and had plenty of fresh cut french fries even though I ordered tator tots so if it has one issue I would check the order before you leave. I am really happy I found this place the food was really good for a fair price. Great Job

If you want a burger that doesn’t need any condiments then, this is the place to visit. The burger and tots were delicious 😋! I almost fainted when I bit into my burger. The bread is so soft and good, it can be eaten by itself.

This place was all around amazing. Warm, friendly attentive staff. Food was perfectly made and very quick. fresh ingredient. Flavored perfectly.

This is a "What you see is what you get" burger joint. And I think it is great. They achieve their stated goal of more affordable food in the Sunriver area. The place is a restaurant and bar with separate eating areas. Both have a strong strong strip mall vibe, but for a burger joint, it works. We ordered a few burgers and the various sides and they were all great. Our two-year-old reported that it was the best burger he ever had. That might be true. It's not quite. The best burger I've ever had, but it was a really great burger. My opinion on the driest and tots was the same. Really delivered the classic taste. The service wasn't strong, so if it is important to you that a server regularly checks in, this place will land in the 3 star category and I believe other reviews have called this out. But I care about great food above almost anything else and easily can rate this a 5 star.

We ordered our food to go. The server was flirting with a patron and not acknowledging us. Once we got our food the jalapeño in the jalapeño was raw, the burgers didn't have sauce, tater tots were burnt, and pretty sure the fries were a day old with how rubbery they were. Not sure how this place even has four stars.

Not only was everyone working super friendly but the food is delicious and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We came in with our baby after snowboarding and loved everything so much we came back and ordered to go on our way out of town. Something else that stood out was the patience when it came to making my order even though it gets pretty complicad with my food intolerances. We will definitely return.

It was good, and I'll go back. I liked sitting in the bar area. The dining area felt like a cafeteria.

Seems a little La Pine-like ... very friendly staff, good food, new management. Definitely would return.

We were so hungry after a busy day out, saw this place when we opened up Yelp and put in a pick-up order to go. We picked the order up 10 mins before it said it would be ready so I'm glad we got there early. We brought it back to the place we were staying and got ready to tuck in - a burger for myself and my husband and wings for my son. The burgers were well cooked and were average but the big disappointment was the wings. Was this a joke? Like they've been sitting there all day, figured it was an online order and thought, screw it, we'll just re-fry these bad boys to the point of recognition and figured we'd be well on our way before we noticed?? We won't be back.

This is one of our go to places. We've been hitting this place for a few years each time we get here. This time we each got the Jalapeño Jack Burgers. "That's a tasty burger," Samuel L. Jackson, and he wasn't kidding. We've tried other burgers and I don't feel you can go wrong. The employees were very nice and easy to talk to. The place was clean and very receiving. I'd say one needs to stop there and try it for yourself!

Downgrading to three stars after ownership change and seeming some change in how they prepare the food. Overall, it remains a reasonable local burger joint with a rather odd bar tucked in the back that serves decent food. Three beefs: 1. Get your online ordering act together. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but today I ordered, the site told me ready by 1pm and when I got there it was cold and had been sitting there 20m. Yes, late is bad. But so is early. 1pm means 1pm. Moreover, since I don't live far, I didn't get any text message (liked I used to) saying it was ready to pick up. Also, when you're ordering a burger, you have to left me specify the cooking temperature "medium well" or I won't order a burger. And, when I ordered the standard burger that comes with lettuce and tomato, or a chi-dog that comes with relish, don't ask me if I want tomato or relish. The item description and the add/remove options need to be consistent. Try ordering something from your site. 2. Try to eat your own food. The chicago dog, which used to be great, now falls apart in your hands when you try to eat it (and no longer really resembles a chicago dog) because there is way too much relish, the relish soaks the bun, the bun falls apart, the onions are too big and fall everywhere. It's a mess. And it's no longer a chi-dog. Cook one and try to eat it yourself (ideally in the car) to see what it's like. 3. Resume the old potato salad recipe. It used to be pretty good but I think you've made some subtle changes that aren't good. The pieces are too big. The (red) skin is now left on the potatoes. It just doesn't taste the same. Please go back. These aren't improvements.

The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious and the portion were so big that we weren't able to finish it all. Also, they have gluten free options.

Had the western Bacon burger and it's one of the best burgers I've had. The fries were awesome too with the homemade fry sauce. For bonus pts grab a local beer with it. Cheers!!

Nice family restaurant. Good burgers, reasonable prices. Friendly service and little to no wait compared to many other Sunriver restaurants. Will definitely go back.

Really good and easy burger joint in Sunriver. All the on-resort places were jammed for labor day weekend and we got in here shortly before closing but they were happy to serve us and it was quick. I love a good burger and these were on point. Good fries too. If you need a solid burger in the area I would highly recommend.

Excellent spot to stop in Sunriver, the food is amazing and the entire staff is great. We'll definitely be back.

Big Belly Burgers & Brew looked interesting from the street and we were hungry. I was not sure what to think when I walked in. I was immediately reminded of a mother & daughter RV park restaurant, that we ate in, somewhere in the mid-west. There were several tables to my right and a counter that fronted the kitchen on my left. It was clearly a place where you order at the counter and take your food to a table. While we were trying to read the chalkboard menu, the woman behind the counter pointed out the it was "Taco Tuesday" and showed us the paper menus. I am always up for trying the day's specials. I ordered a beef taco, chicken taco, and the special carne asada taco. My wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The woman handed me a pager. We found a table and waited until the pager flashed and I went back to the counter to pick up our food. The tacos were bland. A bit of taco seasoning on the beef and chicken tacos would have made them very good. The carne asada taco was good but naked, no lettuce, tomato, or onion. My wife declared that the bacon cheeseburger was very good. I ate some of her fries and really liked them. The fries passed the Good-When-Cold test with high marks for taste and crunch. There were two annoyances: (1) There are four TVs in the dining area. I asked that the annoying TV be turned off and the woman behind the counter quickly turned it off. Not 5 minutes later an employee on break turned it back on. At least he changed the channel to MLB Tonight. It was still annoying. (2) I spent much of my eating time chasing away flies.

We were in Sunriver for an event. 3 adults and a young boy. One gluten-free, one who loves salad and there was great food for all! Everything is house breaded so no issue with gluten. The fries are hand-cut and gluten-free and everything was so yummy! I can say it was a win-win for all!

The wings are great. Sauces for the wings are generic. Burgers are decent. Unfortunately your options are limited around sunriver

Burgers and sandwiches are great. A little spendy, but delicious. Video poker was fun too (as long as you win). I had the Rueben, my wife the jalapeño burger. Both were good. Fresh cut fries as well. I would go back. No frills, nothing fancy, but good service, food, drinks (beer/liquor)

Great burger & club sandwich! Meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Tots and sweet potato fries were fresh & perfectly crispy. My family eats A LOT of burgers and fries so I don't say that lightly! Generic dipping sauce, house salad, and soup. Wouldn't order those again but would definitely come back for the burgers & sweet potato fries! Definitely a younger waiter staff but they were so helpful and very friendly!! The inside seating was casual and felt on brand with the local neighborhood burger joint vibe they have going on. Reasonably priced in comparison to the other restaurants around. Local beer & cider options. If ur visiting Sunriver, you'll be happy with a burger form here :)

Horrible hamburger, so sorry to write this review in a negative however, would not go back for the food. Also, price was way out of line for the bacon burgers we ordered.

Sat in outdoor seating area as nice day out. If it wasn't for such strange time would like this little place much more. The waitstaff was really nice and attentive and the Burge looks and tastes great. Don't expect a five star dining experience and you'll be great. Didn't spend much time indoor though the inside looks nice and quaint, the places I really like. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Fries are OK yet the burger is FANTASTIC! sometimes these types of places disappoint, definitely not in this case. Very very pleased. THANK YOU!

Great cheeseburger! Juicy and flavorful thick patty on a (home made?)bun. Came with fries or tots, both were delicious but the tots were the winner by just a hair because of their crispness. We had to sit outside since Deschute County just re-entered in Covid Extreme Risk, which means it closes to indoor dining. But there were clean tables with umbrellas outside and the weather was decent, so no big deal. The place looks a bit tired from the outside, the staff was not overly friendly, but don't let that deter you from getting a burger there! Truly a GREAT burger. My friend had the BLT on sourdough and was very happy too.

We ordered a few burgers and a club sandwich for pickup. Took at 15 mins and was so much food! Could hardly finish it. Also got a side of beer cheese. So yummy! Downside was the burger was semi dry and same with the chicken in the club- chewy & dry. Big portions and still good. Jalapeños weren't completely sautéed like advertised and were sliced pretty uneven/large. The bun was great and really made the burger. Large portion of fries. Fair prices.

Tried this place for the first time based on the reviews. The Western Bacon burger was not even close to the picture. Had to call to see where the onion rings were. They said they were there and after searching found one very small soggy one which had fallen apart. Same goes for my wife's salad. Had to search for some of the ingredients and couldn't find any cucumber. Can't believe they get the reviews they received. It is not hard to find a better burger and fries.

Fantastic food. Lots of gluten free options if you're into that- shared frier, so be careful if you're super sensitive, but they have HOMEMADE GF CHEESE STICKS AND CHICKEN STRIPS (and GF burger buns and stuff), and it's all delicious. Also alcohol? Surprisingly dense bar, not just wine and beer.

Nice little burger joint with beer on tap and a full bar. We both had the classic cheeseburger - I had mine with tater tots while my wife opted for the fries. Everything was seasoned well and tasted fresh. The customer service here is first class. Very friendly staff who have a good camaraderie amongst themselves and treat customers just as well. Knocking a star off for the pricing - which is a tad too much.

Friendly family run place. Plenty of outdoor dog friendly seating. Mostly burgers with a few good other options such as artichoke dip. The growler fills were reasonably priced

Unfortunately I must change my rating. The last 2 times we have gone (within last 6 months) the burgers have gone from big, hot and juicy, to cold, half the size of the bun, and dry. After getting the food home, less than 5 min from our house, the fries were already cold. I understand that there are new owners. I have called after both visits and complained, was offered my money back, which I didn't take. I won't be going back.

As someone with Celiac disease, I have to be really careful with where I eat. Whenever I travel with my family it feels like my dietary needs either have to take priority, or I am packing my own food while everyone else eats some delicious meal. So to find Big Belly Burgers and Brew, where I could get possibly the best gluten free burger I've ever had, and my family could all get amazing food as well, made my day. The staff are really helpful and go out of there way to make delicious food that meets the dietary needs of their customers. I had the blue cheese burger, and while the gluten free bun held up perfectly, the burger patty was the star. Perfectly medium/medium-well and moist while not being too greasy, locally sourced ingredients--just a great place that I will absolutely be going back to.

We stopped in to give this place a try due to the rating. We ordered a kids cheeseburger, Apple-brie- and bacon burger, and a chili cheese hamburger with tater tots. On their special drink menu, they had a white watermelon mint sangria. I did not care for the apple-brie-bacon burger, my husband ate half of mine, and he thought it was ok. He ordered the chili burger, but they brought out a chili cheese dog. I ate the chili cheese dog and felt the chili was pretty good, and the hot dog was good. The waitress was nice and brought out his chili cheeseburger; my husband thought it was good. The sangria was light and refreshing, but I could not detect any alcohol in it. Overall we are glad we tried it but will not be returning.

Oh I was really surprised at how good these burgers are. I've driven past this burger joint for the last seven years and never set foot inside. I had heard that the was a change in management and now they were really good. Loved my burger. I had the teriyaki pineapple burger and it was perfect . Their sweet potato fries were also super good as well as the adult chicken tenders. Nice work. I'll be back very soon.

We ordered take out on a weekend in the mid afternoon. We probably waited the customary 15-20 minutes, even able to order a couple beers to drink while waiting. The food was well packaged and didn't spill anything. I can only attest to what I had, which was the bacon jalapeno Jack burger. It was pretty good, decently greasy but no so much that it just fell apart. I also had the tater tots on the side instead of fries and they were good and crispy. Portions were more than enough, probably shouldn't be a one sitting meal for most people. Maybe that's why it's called big Belly? We will return!

It was very busy. We ordered and was told it'd be 30 minutes before ready. It ended up to be over an hour waiting I my truck in 92 degrees heat! I told them I was in the red truck just outside their window. She said she'd bring it to me. After I ordered, I saw people be told 45 minutes. They got their food, ate and was gone before my food was ready. I went back in and it seemed like they just started it. The food was great and hot BTW. When my food was finally ready, the whole place was vacant. I'd call first and see if you can order ahead of time! Crazy wait time! I tipped good too! Don't get it.

A diamond in the rough. New ownership is updating not only the interior, but the gluten free options. The owner said they are going to be making homemade GF buns soon. We had chicken strips from scratch and fresh cut fires for $9! Not only were they cost effective, they were delicious. I wanted to take a picture but we both devoured it too quick. We will most definitely be back. They have a small bar too.

What a great breakfast! I really wanted a burger but we arrived a bit too early for lunch as breakfast was still being served until 11:30am. Once my family and I walked into this cute little burger joint we were immediately welcomed by Shelly, who took our drink orders fairly quickly. Once our drinks arrived we placed our food order. The first thing we ordered was the corn beef hash and unfortunately, they were out. This particular food item goes quick as it is homemade, so if that's what you want get there early. After finally placing our order we waited for quite a while to receive our food. My young kids started to loose focus and wanted to go outside. Finally, after about 35 minutes our food finally came out. It was obviously fresh and homemade which made it worth the wait. Shelly was very pleasant and was working hard. If you have time to wait for a great meal I do recommend this place.

Still our favorite place in Sunriver a f the BEST burgers in Central Oregon! Service is always good but we have missed Alida the last 6 or 7 times we've been here! If she's working when you visit you'll understand why we like her so much! Sad we missed her again but so happy she is still working here! We'll catch up again.

Went there on the way back from a ski trip and had some of the best burgers we've ever had. Great service as well.

They tacked on 20% for a tip and they have a big sign that says bus your own table. The hamburgers were horrible! Very small done for the meat lettuce cheese and tomato it fell apart. We had a party of six nobody finished their plate

Cute little place with great burgers and adult beverages. They are family friendly and have great service. If you are in the area it is worth the stop.

The food was awesome and very friendly service. I had the Tri-tip beer cheese sandwich. It was fresh and delicious. My wife had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Again very delicious. We would definitely recommend.

Food is great and they have a good selection on the menu. Employees are mid but overall great place to eat.

I hate to leave a negative review, but our food was almost not edible. The burgers were just OK, but the Chili was AWFUL, the worst ever and we had to throw it away!! NO seasonings basically, except maybe chili powder. NO salt, no anything!! It was sticky. Don't get the chili~!

I just came in and and got a Chicago Dog that made me stand up and beg for buttermilk. The chili cheese tots were so totlicious that my daughter's smell came back from Covid 19. This is like a miracle. Next time I am going to order the same exact thing. Great people and awesome beer selection.

Really nice people run this , but it's just a solidly average Burger kind of overpriced for an average burger to be honest.

This was our first time getting food from Big Belly. We ordered take out around 4 and I think we got old hamburgers from sitting around. I ordered a regular burger with everything and my husband got a mushroom Swiss. Both burgers were cold and over cooked. My pickle was barely visible and skimpy on the sauce. Our tots were cold and hard. Never again

This is what I think of when I hear "mom & pop" restaurant. Megan the owner is incredibly responsive to her diners and goes all out to ensure that everyone has a great experience. Don't be deceived by the looks from the outside - this place and importantly the passion of the people who run it is clearly a hidden gem! I can't wait till the next time I visit Big Belly!
