This would be a great company if only more people of color were calling the shots. I love what the organization stands for but demographically there's no way a 22 years old white women from Idaho could relate to a 11 year old black boy from the Hood. This young lady was my case manager for the program. As a black man myself geographically she is totally out of place. As a big brother I had a hard time seeking advice because I did not feel comfortable talking with the young support manager based off of relatability. I'm from the hood I'm from poverty I'm from where my little brother is from. I would love to see people of color in higher up leadership roles in theses organizations so Big brothers and Big Sisters of color could possibly have the proper representation to support our little brothers and little sisters.

As a youngster between the ages of 10 - 14, I truly enjoyed the Big Brothers activities in the '50s - swimming and woodworking were my favorites. We walked to the trolley barn and rode in town, walked Market Street to City Hall and took the subway and bus home. We had no disposable allowance, so the club was a big thrill.

I have been with my little since 8th grade she just graduated High School this year and both of us being a part of this organization has been phenomenal. With the support of my Match Specialist Mary this has been a great experience with a lasting relationship. The programs offers great tips and tactics to develop, strengthen and continue a relationship between a big and little. I didn't know what to expect going in but I would recommend because BBBS have both the bigs and littles best interest with frequent check in and resources plus Mary is always available when needed I feel like family. If you are on the fence I hope this helps you to just do it.

I responded to a telephone request for clothes etc. We made a date, I left 3 bags in the lobby of my building. No one ever came for them. I will take the bags to GoodWill.

I am always so happy for BBBS to pick up my used items and I never have a problem with them.

I don't know why there are 2 poor reviews, I have been a big for a little over 6 months. All of my interactions with the staff have been positive, the facility is great, and the program has been top notch.
