The Best Break-Up Spots In Philly This Summer

"Eventually, they'll have to pick a new place to live. Why not start by scanning the neighborhoods atop one of Philly’s burgundy tour buses? The tour guide's microphone will probably drown out the embarrassing bits and at least you would’ve taken one last trip together. Since there’s a 100% chance that you’ll stop at Reading Terminal Market, comfort dishes like roast pork sandwiches, stuffed pretzels, and creamy clam chowder await their sorrow. Plus, there’s always an old guy out front singing love songs, if they need to publicly sob and let it out.  " - candis mclean

Had the pleasure of touring Philadelphia using Big Bus Tours, and it was absolutely amazing. The driver and the tour guide did a great job communicating stops with riders, and had a lot of information to give when sight seeing. . . Definitely recommend starting early so you can make multiple stops and have plenty of time at each location. Busses run every 15 minutes, organizing your time and stops is made easy. My favorite stop was terminal market, followed by the art museum. We are new to Philadelphia, so this was a great way to seeing the city! Look forward to booking again and brining my family and friends when they come to visit!

We had a great time on the big bus tour, from beginning to end. David picked us up on time from our hotel in the small shuttle bus, he was fantastic! He went above and beyond answering the million questions we had on the way to 6th and Market. He was super friendly and very personable. The tour itself was amazing, it hit all the main sights to see and the guides were very knowledgeable and quite entertaining! The bus drivers also need commended, super skilled in what they do! They maneuvered that giant bus like it was the size of a Prius! Our only complaint was it was a little chilly but dealing with the cold was totally worth it to sit up top! We will be coming back to do this again in a warmer month and would love to do the night tour!

Nice Hop on Hop Off double decker bus. We stayed on for the entire 90 minute loop and saw the many sights of Philadelphia.

I'm born &raised in Philly but wanted to experience the Hop On-Hop Off bus tour of Philly. It was fabulous. Well done, the guide was knowledgeable, understandable, great appreciation for the beauty of our city. Really well worth the $$. My only complaint was the wait time after getting off at the Barnes, they told me every 15 min a bus would stop and I could get back on. Well it took 45 min, not 15. For me that wasn't a problem , but it could have been if I had other activities scheduled. Not sure why it took so long, I called the company, very nice lady told me 1 would be there in another 15 min or so. Nice day so 45 min wasn't terrible. My advice , everyone who is a Philly native should take a ride on the Big Bus Hop On-Hop Off tour. (Only 4 stars bc of the wait)

Big Bus Tours in Philadelphia was a fantastic way to see the city! No stressing about directions or parking, just hop on and off as you please. Our tour guide was incredibly dedicated (he even got hit by a branch while pointing out a landmark!), and the drivers were super helpful, even dropping us at Reading Terminal Market after the last stop. Tip: Start early to maximize your hop-on, hop-off experience and see as much as possible! 🚌

We were very disappointed with our bus tour of Philadelphia. We got on our first stop at the Liberty Bell, it was not rainy but the upper level seats were puddles with water, so to sit up top, we couldn't escape getting a little wet after we cleaned them off the best we could. We went about a block, in that block we were told by the guide that we wouldn't be able to go to a bunch of stops ( Betsy Ross house, the mint, Eldridge alley etc) because of road detours and closures. We should have been told this when we were buying the tickets because those were all the most important places that we wanted to visit. He also told us that Philly was the pothole capital of the world as we sat, a block away from the start for 15 minutes. We were then told to disembark and walk two blocks to get onto another bus due to road closures that were nowhere to be seen. Second bus, second seat cleaning where we sat for a half hour waiting to depart. This guide was very nonchalant and non informative about the sites we were seeing. Such as.... If you go inside the building on the right, there's a real cool mural in there. Got off at reading market which was a lot of fun. I wouldn't recommend using this bus service. It was very chaotic and we didn't learn anything of interest. I feel like it's just a big money grab.

This is a nice tour if you are looking to know more about Philadelphia and its history. This bus tour links you to almost all the other museum attractions. The buses are good. The guides are knowledgeable on the history but the lady we had would get too distracted with things outside of the tour. She would also yell at guests when it was a communication gap. The seats were not comfy after some time. Other than that the tour was good to help understand and learn about Philly.

I had a great time. Dom is a skilled driver. Bayyyybay. He knows he can drive. The duo was awesome. There was a woman driver who was a great driver. The busses were clean and everyone was friendly and fun. Luv the fact you visit si many great sites and learn fun facts and history. It's worth the ticket (which is reasonable). It's definitely something you should try when you visit.
