"The Big Chill is located in Delaware Seashore State Park, just past the inlet that separates Dewey from North Bethany Beach. Because of its location, you have 360-degree views of Rehoboth Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, a rare find in the world of waterfront bars. But that’s not the only awesome thing about Big Chill—it’s also great for a ton of different situations. You can sip crushes at the tiki bar, tire your kids out on the beachfront playground, or snack on boardwalk-inspired bites like crab fries and Smith Island cake around a fire pit, all while taking in some of the best views in the state. "Located at the Delaware Seashore State Park, the sprawling deck at Big Chill is an ideal spot to sip crushes and enjoy views of the water. The menu has expanded beyond tacos to include seafood entrees and poke bowls. Daily hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Julekha Dash, Eater Staff

We have been coming to Delaware Seashore State Park with our camper multiple times a season over the last seven years. Every time we say we’re going to try out the Big Chill. We made that a reality this weekend. Thankfully, there was no wait because it was off-season. Each table was full. The restaurant was busy for late October. It was extremely loud with the way the tables were set up. I could hear all of the conversations from the table behind us since it was bench seating and we were back to back. There was loud music playing. Overall, our food was less than desirable. We had the nacho appetizers for $15 and added pork for an extra nine dollars. That was probably the best thing we had out of everyone’s order. My son had the chicken thigh sandwich breaded. It had absolutely no flavor and we had to ask for barbecue sauce to make it edible. The lobster roll tasted like straight up butter. The hamburger was fully edible and delicious according to my 11-year-old. My husband had the land and sea hamburger and that was also good. Service was mediocre. We had to ask for silverware. We were also never given small plates when the appetizer came so we had to use napkins as plates. They were completely sold out of Dr. Pepper and root beer in their fountain. It can definitely be more than seven years until we go back. If you enjoy alcohol, I’m sure they had many choices for you. If you want a nice view, ask for one of the tables facing the ocean. There seem to be a memorial service going on at those tables and they had all occupied (at-least three). We had one of the tables closer to the parking lot. There are plenty of better food choices than this. Even the fries were soggy.

While staying at the campground we had the ability to just walk over from our campsite which was pleasant. Stopped by 3 separate times to try almost the entire happy hour menu and the smith island cake. The fried pickles were delicious, the Buffalo chicken was not. The burgers tasted ok but were served ona frozen bun. The nachos looked better than they tasted but were okay in a pinch. The fried fish bites were also quite good as well as the smith island cake. The margaritas were strong and tasty. The real draw here however is the view. On our third trip we were even able to watch two surfers.

Although the atmosphere was great, we were disappointed in our meals. My husband and I both ordered Mahi tacos that were $16 for the meal. We were expecting the price, but weren’t expecting the LACK of food! When the meal came out we were stunned. It looked like they cut each piece of fish into thin slices to put on the tacos and there wasn’t much else in them. It did come with fries, but looks like they just grabbed a small handful. On the plus side, the staff were very nice! Unfortunately, we will not be going back for food, maybe drinks.

The view is spectacular but the amount of wine you get for $9 is pathetic… maybe 4 ounces in this little glass !!! Happy Hour specials don’t include drinks except a dollar off for Margareta and Orange Crunch. There only specials on appetizers! Not worth it

Had dinner at the Big Chill Beach Club. Beautiful venue. Outdoor dining. We were seated immediately. Our server, Riley, was friendly and efficient. She was so efficient that our appetizer appeared at our table before Riley was finished taking our orders for our entrees. Ah, the wonders of Wi-Fi. Our appetizer was corn dip with tortilla chips. Excellent. I had two smash burgers topped with crab dip, lettuce, tomato, cheese, fried onion and jalapenos. Outstanding. We had a view of the ocean on one side and the bridge over the inlet between Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island. It's a very pretty bridge. While we were eating, the sun set behind the bridge. I took pictures from the restaurant deck. There's ample free parking in the lot outside the restaurant. The restaurant and the parking lot are wheelchair accessible, but there's a very long ramp leading up from the parking lot to the restaurant deck. I'd give Big Chill Beach Club six stars If I could. Back in OC and back at Big Chill Beach Club for another sunset dining experience. Delicious.

I had an amazing experience here! The views are absolutely breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to relax. Our bartender Alec was friendly & made great drinks, adding to the overall vibe. I had the bowl with mahi & it was delicious—fresh & flavorful. My mother had the nachos with added chicken, & she loved every bite. Highly recommend this place for the food, drinks & unbeatable atmosphere!

Samantha was the best event planner for my husband and my vow renewal. We had a million questions and Sam answered each one patiently and with a smile. She worked seamlessly with our outside vendors. During the reception, she realized the baker hadn't delivered the gluten free desserts we had ordered. Sam effortlessly pivoted and worked with her kitchen staff to create a mango dish that was a perfect replacement. Sam worked our event personally and ran the staff flawlessly. Our family and friends commented afterwards on the attentiveness, kindness and efficiency of the entire team. Thank you to Sam and the whole BCBC crew for making our long awaited event very special.
