Big City Chicken Review - Streeterville - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Big City Chicken is a counter-service stall buried about halfway down the Navy Pier food court.  It has only three things on the menu: chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and waffle fries. You can dress your sandwich up with BBQ sauce, or a combination of buffalo and blue cheese mayo, but that probably won’t hide the dryness of the chicken. Coupled with a smooshed bun and surprisingly crispy seasoned waffle fries, a meal here is like a slightly better middle school lunch. And if it got you through fifth period math back then, it can get you through a day at Navy Pier now." - Veda Kilaru

This is inside the Navy Pier and is an okay place to get chicken strips that are on par with Micky Ds. It's not my thing, but at least the service was good.

These are the worst chicken strips and waffle fries I’ve ever tasted. Chicken was Very dry. The fries were hard and crunchy. I tried to eat it because I was very hungry but ended up not being able to. Everything was luke warm. This is the first and last time I’ll eat here. For $30 I was expecting a lot better. One thing I can compliment them on is excellent customer service. After I thought, why am I sitting here trying to eat this terrible food I went to the counter and complained. The young lady at the counter graciously offered and did refund my money.

I was pretty disappointed for a specialty chicken spot. The chicken sandwich was below average. The chicken was lukewarm and also dry. I received my meal as soon as it was ready so it wasn't sitting under a heat lamp or anything. The fries were pretty decent not over or under seasoned. 18$ for essentially decent fries.

I couldn’t finish the original chicken sandwich because it was so bad. The chicken itself seemed to have been refried or recooked so there were some inedible parts and the sandwich was cold. The waffle fries were decent but the cheese on top was terrible. They used nacho cheese. Won’t come back here again.

A below average chicken restaurant. Had to go to neighbor's restaurant ("Big Bowl") to order. Very slow service. The older Black man was very nice and he repeatedly apologized for the slow service. The young Black man in the kitchen couldn't care less and worked with a scowl on his face. The chicken strips were fine but not as good as Raising Cane's or Deval Dog's. The seasoned waffle fries looked seasoned but tasted bland. Honey mustard was bland as well. I won't eat here again

This isn't a place you come to for the service or atmosphere. Those were cool though. This review is about the food. Two words describe the food - dry and basic. I'd literally take any fast food place's chicken sandwich over this mess. The fries were mid but definitely not as bad as the chicken sandwich, smh.

Out of all the places to get food at Navy Pier, this is the place to be. $13 for a chicken sandwich may seem expensive but guys it’s literally Navy Pier what do you expect? Plus the chicken sandwiches come with waffle fries and they’re beautifully seasoned. Staff is friendly for the most part. We also got the strawberry lemonade and that was good too.

If I could give this place no stars I absolutely would! First off it’s overpriced for it’s very below average chicken sandwich. Tyson frozen sandwiches are better, also my sandwich was nothing but crust!
