Seriously the kindest staff around. They were super helpful in helping me find what I needed, and they had the best puff bar flavors as well, with better prices than I’ve seen compared with other shops in LA. Will definitely be back – highly recommend.

The employee charged me TWICE because my "card" wasn't working. I bought two items and I saw FOUR receipts print out. I only got one back. When I checked my statement, I got charged twice, I went back and showed them asking for a refund because it was a mistake on their end, they didn't want to give it back to me saying that it's my fault and that I should come back tomorrow if it's still there, because my card didn't read it the first time but read it the second time? Well it's the following day and it's still being charged twice in my card. I'll be giving an update based on how this is handled.

Prices are high, but not crazy for the area (they charge for bags, btw.) Staff are low key and cool for the most part. It's got a pretty decent selection of beer and red wine. Decent selection of whites and a handful of rose choices. Liquor options are pretty standard, most behind the counter. Limited snack food options. Cigarettes and lottery also available.

I lived up sunset junction for years in the 90’s, I still drop in when I’m in LA and after all these years the owner still remembers me! Family owned and still the corner store even with all the changes to Silverlake! I’ll be in to say HI soon! I do love this store

Nice staff ...and great Motown oldies playing. Inspired me to purchase a few more "party goods"...extra bottle of fav Chardonnay & on sale to boot!! Decent selection of beer...foreign and domestic. In & out after lottery, ATM, snacks and impromptu cork screw. Whew!

This mom and pop liquor store located in silverlake is not hub for the neighborhood as you see so many regulars and locals. Go for booze as it's normal pricing but everything else is double the normal price. Cool staff.

My favorite local liquor store. The entire staff are such sweet people. Good beer and wine selection, the ATM only charges a dollar fine which isn't bad. Been here hundreds of times and never had a bad experience.

I couldn’t find my wine at first and the staff helped me out (even tho they were busy). I was about to get a more expensive wine and one guy from the staff brought me tHe one I was looking for. :)

Convenient place to get booze in Silver Lake. It has pretty good prices. Big Mac's has a big ass selection to choose from. Lots of liquors of all kinds. There's also a pretty humongous wine selection that takes up lots of space. A typical looking liquor store in a strip mall on Sunset next to a parking lot. It's not that big but it has tons of stuff. There's beers, liquors, and wines. A lot of local beers in the coolers. There's also plenty of local wines. Prices are okay for around here. The good stuff is located behind the counter, so you have to ask the clerk to get these. For liquor stores it's pretty good. It's got lots of typical and more interesting stuff. There's a ton of locally made wines.

Nice, small neighborhood liquor store where the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Very convenient for snacks, spirits, and select wines as they keep current on all the latest in beverage and mixers trends, some at the suggestions from their regular patrons. Also on hand is a good but small variety of items that includes classic sundries, pet food, paper products, and bottle openers - ATM/Lotto $-$$$. Good hours too

Silverlake wine and liquor shop near a great area of residences, other shops, eateries, bars and all things Silver Lakey. They have a great selection of wine at reasonable competitive prices including so solid organic and craft style craft brew and biodynamic wine options. All the essential snack and goodies you could want and a personable staff. I stopped in and grabbed a few of my favorite Hard Kombuchas by Booch Craft for the night after so shopping up the way... Soooo LA, right? hahaha Considering they're partnered with Wine Warehouse I was a little surprised they don't offer bulk buying deals for large quantities of wine as I considered a half case to stock up as well as for a friend's birthday gift, but I ain't even mad as Big Mac's... it's still a big hit. Lighting and decor is a little dated, but also has this nice vintage-esque charm. Easy parking in a shared parking lot and on the street as well as very close to a lot of local city transit services.

Very large selection of snacks and wine/booze I have been going to Big Macs since Highschool, recently moved back to the area and it's still under the same management and staff that I remember!! I love the energy and the prices are also great!! The ambiance is always moving as it's on sunset and you'll see the most interesting characters walk in and out, always with a smile.

For the past 6-7 years, Big Mac's has been my neighborhood go-to whenever I need to pick up some drinks or dog ice cream (yes, ice cream for dogs). It's in a very walkable area and they also have a parking lot. And an ATM! Everyone who works here is quite friendly and they've even stocked specific snacks when we've asked for them. I've always been able to find whatever alcohol I'm looking for--from Fernet to soju (in different sizes, no less). They also have a great revolving selection of craft beers and a growing collection of natural wines that are fun to try. Lastly, I want to say thank you to everyone at Big Mac's for always making me feel safe and comfortable when I visit. As a small woman, I have had some unpleasant experiences at other convenience / liquor stores--especially alone at night. It's great to know that I'll always encounter a familiar face at the register here. And we really appreciate you for being there for us throughout Covid. A true neighborhood gem.

There are two liquor stores pretty much equidistant from my apartment. No shade to the other one, but this one is easily my store of choice. The staff is always friendly, the selection is varied, the prices are good. This is the spot if you're looking for a good booze store in Silver Lake.

Love that this place is simple and easy. Holding strong to the original LA & Silverlake atmosphere. Don't change!

Gene and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have a GREAT selection of wine and they can assist you if you need help choosing one. Reasonable prices on everything and a neighborhood staple for 24 years.

So this is my neighborhood liquor store. I go here so often in fact that around christmas time they gave us shirts. This is seriously the best liquor store ever. They have a sale section that never changes, and their sales are quite stunning. They even have a decent 5 dollar bottle of vodka for when you needs a drink, but are balling on a budget. The big jug of cutty sark (which I am currently in love with) is permanetly 25 bucks. Yes please. Their atm machine also only charges you 50cents. Seriously if you are coming to visit me stop by their first. Oh and seriously big ups to their entire staff for being so fucking nice.

Big Mac's is a neighborhood staple for pretty much everything, whether you need that evening emergency jim hat, a bottle of something special to enjoy together before using that jimmy, or some Kleenex and some Gatorade for after you've used that jim hat. This is where I go to get my bottle of Coke Zero, the occasional pack of batteries and ponder the wisdom of buying a Hostess Sno Balls pack while waiting to use the most affordable independent ATM machine in all of Los Angeles (just 50 cents). They also have a decent collection of periodicals which are fronted by covers of women in bikinis with ample bumps in the trunk (also enjoyed while waiting in line for the ATM). I also purchase my Cali and Mega Millions lottery quick picks here. If I win, Sno Balls and a copy of Low Rider for everyone on me!

They don't actually sell Big Macs here even though the place is called Big Macs. I'm a vegetarian anyway though so it doesn't really matter to me.

No reviews for Big Macs yet? Well that's just wrong. Great neighborhood emergency supplies/ATM/liquor store. Best things about Big Macs: 1) The wine selection really is decent and the $2 more per bottle you'll occasionally pay over Trader Joes prices is SO WORTH IT to not have to deal with the TJs parking lot on Hyperion. And sometimes their specials and sales on wine are comparable. 2) the ATM fee is only .50, not counting what your bank will add on (last I used it, anyway) 3) they don't look at you funny when you stumble in on a Thursday morning still in your pajamas to buy Half-n-Half with a handful of dimes and nickels. 4) same prices on Ben & Jerry's ice cream as those at Hyperion Gelsons. 5) limited selection of low fat Ben & Jerry's ice cream (makes saying f&$k it so much easier) 6) They sell cold Pear Cider - yum. 7) the oh so subtle look of disapproval when I bought a pack of cigarettes after quitting for 2 years. (I quit again - yeah!) Big Macs - neighborhood staple! We love them so.

Liquor stores are basically all the same: Liquor, chips, lottery tickets, whatever. So, the little things count, and with Big Mac's, it's seems like they go out of there way to draw your attention to these little things, and illustrate how annoying they can be if they go the wrong way. To wit: 1) They have prominently displayed an unattractive, impolite "no dogs" sign. I have a nineteen pound cocker spaniel -- the employees wouldn't even let me hold her while I ran in to grab a water. 2) They steadfastly uphold their debit card minimum as though it were law. Everything else about the store is fine (though nothing is outstanding). So, Big Mac, please consider why you have these rules in the first place, and that it's your store -- you can make all the exceptions you want. They aren't laws. I walk by everyday -- I'm a dog-walker -- and you are losing my business because of these strict policies. Let me hold my well-behaved little dog while I buy a Red Bull with my debit card, for God's sake.

My spot! I go here all the time because it's so conveniently located to where I live. The staff is right on radical motha shut yo moufs!!!! Cheap beer, 1$ extra ATM, great booze selection, and for some reason I always seem to win their scratchers when I impulsively decide to buy one. The staff always give me my change in quarters when I need to do my laundry which I think is a sign of the business being chill and trying to help in anyway that they can within the community.

Big Mac's has been my neighborhood purveyor of distilled spirits for the past seven years, and I love them. They are really friendly, and the place has a definite neighborhood vibe. When I haven't been in for a while one of the clerks always jokes that he was wondering what happened to me and hoped I was okay (a huge compliment, I'm sure!). They have a pretty good wine selection for a liquor store, and some really good deals on larger bottles of liquor, like Jameson. Also, if you tell the clerk what you want and ask what the best deal is they are really helpful. *Also, cheap ATM ($1 fee) and $10 minimum of cards.

The likka stoh in my hood is the best! Friendly staff, ATM only charges $1, good selection of booze and I always win with their scratch-offs. Can't hate on BIG MAAAAAAAC's!

From the minimal fee on the ATM machine to the continuity of the staff, this place is made to please the customer. My only suggestion would be a tiny bit of fresh food available. A fresh fruit and vegetable bin would sell out in this neighborhood rapidly!

Solid neighborhood liquor spot with a 10cent copier and some essential snacks for a decent price as they are on Sunset Blvd.

What would I do without Big Mac's Liquor? Sniff. I really like the owner and staff. They are not only nice and helpful but funny. From the 50 cent ATM to stocking just about any drink that one can imagine. Yep, they rock.

Cons: OK, so this is a corner liquor store, so their prices are not the best (though I've seen worse.) Pros: That said, their selection is actually pretty good, and the people behind the counter are friendly. The parking lot is small, but you can usually get a spot (part of the lot is reserved for those parking for 15 minutes max (and you better believe they enforce it since they're close to Sunset Junction, so I wouldn't try it, word to the wise...) They're also pretty good at giving out matches (even if you don't buy cigs), a dollar's worth of quarters, that sort of thing. Bottom line:Good place to go when I am too lazy or tired to go to the supermarket.

Worst service ever! I just came by to grab some snakes and the Chinese guy is staring at me as I walk around the store and I thought it was pretty weird so I walk up to the front and he yells to me "WHERE DO YOU WANT TO PARK!?" I say what are you talking about I parked in the front he then tells me "yes I seen your car you can't park there aren't you going up the street?" I said no don't you see me in your store shopping. I came to buy snacks then he tells "no you didn't come here to buy you came here to sneak a parking and you can't come here" at this time I'm so shocked I don't even know what to say then I dropped my things and left and as I'm walking out he tells me "get out of here" then come to find out there was a store up the street doing a shoe raffle for some rare Kanye West shoes and majority of the people are black and I'm black so I feel racially profiled and I'm extremely upset

i don't remember checking in here- i just remember some customer yelling at the guy behind the counter because he didn't like the prices.. i was like "hey guy yelling- there are like a million liquor stores in this city & if you don't like it go somewhere else cause I'm trying to buy shit & you're holding up the line"...

A very convenient liquor store with a parking lot. Yay! Even though it shares its lot with the rest of the strip mall, a few spots are designated for Big Macs. They have a large wine selection and a pretty good beer selection as well. They have ice cream, which is proudly advertised on a handwritten sign on the freezer case as "Ben and Jelly's". Not kidding.

They rock... Great owner and staff. Kind and understanding, they are a benefit to the neighborhood they serve so well.

I work a couple of businesses down and the gentlemen are always very friendly and recognize me and aren't annoyed that I always have my big dog parked in the middle of their doorway. Or at least they keep their annoyance to themselves. People who aren't bitter about working in a liquor store in their senior years and still treat others with kindness? Makes me :) :) :)

Recently I refilled my fridge for a weekend dinner we had with some friends. Place is nice, well displayed, but even if you are not sure about drinks you are looking for staff will help out. Other than that, fair prices and overall good experience.

Big Mac's is in the mini-mall on the NE corner of Sunset and Lucile. I've lived up the hill for over thirty years, since it was on the NW corner and owned by Big Mac himself. They've always been of and for the neighborhood. Their prices are slightly high, because they're independent, but they're friendly and accommodating, unless you want them to break their rules, which are reasonable and are to help them stay a viable business. Reasonable people understand that. Look at the overall rating. Big Mac's is the best.
