If there was an option for -5 stars, I would give them that rating. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE NOT AFRICAN AMERICAN or MUSLIM. We were first attended by a young lady who seemed decent. 20 minutes later, still no food or coffee and a man that worked at the front asked us to repeat the order. Two other customers that arrived after us, got their orders before us and were given friendly updates and apologies from the same woman. 35 minutes later, we ask the man about our food and he seemed annoyed that we asked, with no apology, and tells us that our food was "almost done." 50 minutes later, the same man approaches us and tells us that they did not have anymore leg and thigh chicken pieces and that if it was ok if they cooked fried chicken wings instead!!!! WTF, How long does it take to cook chicken and waffles??? I expressed my frustrations and walked out! His excuse was that there were MANY other customers ahead of us..the place was EMPTY with one other customer dining and serviced two to-go orders in the beginning. The kitchen is visible, and no joke, there were 4 people working in that kitchen !!
Why did we wait so long to leave?? Because it is hard to find HALAL soul food. In terms of service, there was nothing halal/islamic about the service or ambiance. There is really no point in falsely claiming halal on your menu when you treat your non African American customers like garbage. And FYI, Halal goes far beyond how meat/poutlry is slaughtered.
By far, the worst service ever!!!! Normally, other restaurants will try to compensate for mistakes by offering a free meal. This place, not even an apology!!
