Not your usual brewery, more like a nursery with booze. Family and kids everywhere, most likely the location since it’s trendy with young families. So if you want a drink without kids running around avoid this place. Service is super slow…

Great place for a large group. Helpful booking staff. Easy food ordering and good selection of drinks! Only downside is no where really to park. But the actual venue is good! Big range of events too.

First time here. Great atmosphere but prices are expensive, over £5 per shot. We got 2 medium rose wine and 2 baby Guinness for £29.20... Way to much for for those trying to have a good night on a cheaper budget. Maybe go here again if there is a price drop.

I’ve been to BPS a few times now. A couple of things stick out: the service (sometimes table service), venue and selection of beers are all great. The food, however, is mediocre — avoid the nachos. Having said that, it’s a fab location to watch the football, rugby and to pop into the bi-monthly crafts market. Plenty to do for all the family, including a selection of retro games machines and darts boards for small and big kids. A real hot spot for the Walthamstow community. Because of all the above, I would give it 4.5/5 — maybe bring your own food?

Big Penny Social is most certainly buzzing with a family style atmosphere. It's definitely the place to meet with friends and your young kids. It's very loud, so if you struggle with too much noise I would not recommend this. But generally it was a nice experience for our group of friends. The menu and food ordering is via a QR code in your table so fairly seamless, and unsurprisingly (as there's lots of people) the food took a while to come out. We all ordered Sunday roast, beef, and my friends ordered vegetarian Sunday roast. The great thing is that they have the kids roast. It's a decent flavoursome roast with an average price point. It's nothing spectacular, just a no nonsense roast.

My very first place to start a Blackhorse beer mile but disappointed. Very crowded and noisy beer hall I found asa I entered. Been at the bar to be served but there wasn't any system. Bar guys were serving here and there without thinking who is waiting for long. So I changed my place and been on the side where they were serving more but hell wrong, they moved on the otherside again. Anyhow being served and back on floor. There were plenty of seating but kids were everywhede without any supervision. All jumping here and there. Not a place for having drink but more like kids nursery. Even there was tables for tennis but holding by kids. While I was hardly enjoying my drink, a staff girl came to my table at 16:45 and put a booking board mentioned 16:30 table booked. Found it later that two staff members were making tables empty for big groups. Shame. At the end, there was a board " please leave quietly" when you can’t hear what a person next to you is talking. Anybow I would say, if you wanna enjoy drink then plenty of places around.

This is a nice venue to go drinking at in the sun or rain especially with groups of friends, as the inside is massive with good music helping to maintain a good vibe. There are a good few beers on offer, with the lager I had being a perfect balance being light yet having a good level of flavour and a little zing to it. The kitchen looks great as you pass to and from the outdoor area, however the pizza was a let down lacking a light crust and a more flavourful cheese.
